Nothing can prepare you for the generous and welcoming hospitality of D88, Lalo, Elle and the staff; especially when an unexpected disturbance shuts the country down for 24 hours.
Lalo opened the little cafe after hours and 8 individual rooms joined for an unexpected community evening of dinner and laughter.
Disturbance aside, the hotel is lovely. Clean, comfortable and beautiful rooms. Amazing pool and lounging areas. Tropical paradise location close to Sayulitas plaza and the beach.
It’s a definite #1 future return stay!

Distrito 88 is absolutely amazing. Before we even got there their communication was unbelievable. They welcomed us two days before getting there. The day of our flight Lalo reached out to us and greeted us at the gate. Lalo made sure we had what we needed throughout our stay. Our room was cleaned everyday with pride. The property itself is so beautiful. Top notch. Elle the cook is so friendly and makes the most tasty food. If you want a relaxing stay on a gorgeous property this is the place for you. Thank you to everyone at Distrito 88 for making our stay perfect.

Everything was amazing! I couldn’t have asked for a better stay! The staff especially Lalo was very helpful and accommodating and always smiling. We also loved the location it’s far enough from the center of town but close enough were your not walking so far. We loved the room! Spacious and sunny when you wanted it to be. Overall, the site stay was good. We were not informed that there was construction going on from 8-5 with loud music and power tools. We also unaware of the brick steps we had to climb with luggage and walking path up the hill was steep. However, manager Lalo and team were awesome! We would considered staying there again with golf cart rental and once construction is complete.

The suites are very nice and roomy. We were in Suite 2 and had a private balcony area and convenient pool area just for the suites. All the staff are friendly and very helpful. Lalo is the manager and he responded immediately to any request. Overall a very pleasant stay.

Don't be fooled

I was really disappointed upon arrival, as the photos painted a very different picture, spacious, private, and upscale. I chose to splurge on this stay, even upgrading my room because I expected a level of comfort and privacy that simply wasn’t there.

The room was small and felt rigid in design. The only seating option was a trendy but uncomfortable wire chair, and the “premium bedding” turned out to be a stiff coil mattress with rough sheets, definitely not the cozy setup I expected. The “patio” was actually a shared balcony with a large daybed taking up most of the space, facing inward toward the property instead of the ocean.

I requested to cancel the rest of my stay but was denied a refund. Honestly, it was so uncomfortable and misrepresented that I left anyway, booked a new place, and willingly took the financial hit just to feel at ease somewhere else.

That said, the host Lalo was kind and helpful, he carried my bags, provided clear instructions, and shared the WiFi info promptly. I also appreciated the small carafe of water, the eco-friendly bath products, and the strong AC.

Overall, while there were a few thoughtful touches, the overall experience didn’t align with the listing, and it definitely didn’t justify the price.

Lalo, who runs the property, was very hospitable and accommodating! As a solo traveler, I felt completely safe walking around there the entire time. The entrance is at the top of a steep hill, so get your legs ready! Renting a golf cart for a day was quite fun. I would love to stay there again. The only reason I gave the area 4 stars is there is construction going on directly by Distrito 88.

We stayed in room 7 by the lower pool right next to the restaurant. Weren't aware ot was next to the restaurant when we booked and could easily hear the room next door even though they were talking at a reasonable level. So the revoew is for one of those rooms. Not the other rioms on the upper levels, which were of a much higher standard. Lalo the manager was friendly, lolite, and efficient. The shower in our room had very low pressure and little to no hot water at first, but Lalo fixed it for the second night. The hotel is located a short walk to downtown and the beach which is the main plus. But it is also well kept and quiet, at least Mon thru Fri, during the week when we were there. The upstairs units with views of the ocean would probably be 5 stars, the lower single units by the pool and restaurant i gave 3 stars because it was a significant downgrade from the others, even though they were well maintained. Just a little basic with limited privacy.

We got ripped off by the manager. We arrived at an earlier date. They said no problem we will refund your original booking. But we had to pay upfront. We stayed and tried to get a refund. They would not refund our original payment even though we paid to stay at an earlier date. So we paid twice. The manager is extremely unforgiving and a liar.

Although we enjoyed our stay at this property, we were underwhelmed due to the fact that it was very expensive! We paid $5k for 8 nights in Suite 3, which in hindsight, was absolutely not worth it. Was the view from our suite amazing? Yes, it absolutely was, but not worth what we paid. Also, this property is very minimalist… they leave you coffee pods, but there is no milk/cream or sugar. We asked for a hot water kettle to boil water for tea and were told to use the microwave, which was so old that it took 8-10 minutes to get the water hot enough. We arrived on a Saturday evening at about 7:30 and the concierge had to leave at 7:00, so we had no one to take us up to our room. It was extremely dark, and no signage on the property. We had to climb about 200 steps to get to our room with 2 suitcases! So we were not impressed with this. Although the staff and the concierge are pleasant and willing to help, this property lacked what I wanted for the amount we paid. They charged us Fairmont prices and we didn’t get Fairmont service or property. Also, the steepness of the hill and all the steps are something that you really need to be aware of. So please know this before you book. Unfortunately, this was our first & last visit to this property.

We recently stayed at Distrito 88 for a week and really enjoyed our time there. The hotel itself is beautiful and offers great outdoor spaces and a few pools. The rooms are nice and comfortable and the staff was very friendly. The location was also amazing and was a quick walk into town but far enough away that it was quiet during the night time. Looks nicer in pictures than IRL. I didn't see views of the ocean, even at the top of my building (and the small pool wasn't filled there after all) or the other buildings. The pool water was very cold. On site restaurant hours and options were limited. WiFi was spotty. And it's a bit of a walk uphill to get to the hotel, with no elevators or easy access (if you have a lot of or heavy luggage). The manager was very nice, but I had to access for my \"VIP free drinks\" and about the free room upgrade (never heard back either). It was an ok place away from the noise of town, but probably wouldn't stay again.

This is a dream! Unbelievable beautiful! Balcony with palm trees, pool, it has charme and is very unique. At first I was not clear about the adults only, but it only means there are no kids running around. It is quiet, has an AC. Beautiful views. Staff is kind. Our stay at Distrito 88 (Adults Only) was incredible. From the moment we arrived, our hosts, Gaby and Lalo, went above and beyond to make our experience unforgettable. They even upgraded us to a stunning suite with breathtaking views of the ocean in Sayulita, Nayarit. The suite was beautifully decorated, spacious, and the view was absolutely amazing.

The check-in and check-out process was super quick and easy, making everything very convenient. We had breakfast once, and the chilaquiles, prepared by Adanari, the lovely cook, were delicious. She was so kind and attentive. The pool was perfect for relaxing, and the hotel’s boutique-style décor added an extra charm. Plus, the town is just a short walk away, which made it easy to explore everything Sayulita has to offer.

If you’re looking for a peaceful, beautifully designed hotel with impeccable service, Distrito 88 is the perfect choice. We can’t wait to come back!

My wife and I had a great 6 night stay here. Overall the hotel was very clean and very quiet! Exactly what we were looking for. We can not thank Lalo enough for his warm welcome and his attention to making our stay flawless. He made sure we had everything we needed. Stayed in contact via text which made it easy when we wanted to rent a golf cart (highly recommended) and when we needed to schedule a taxi back to the airport. I recommend having lunch at the hotel. Checkin was easy, and Lalo the onsite mgr is great. Easy place to stay and walk to the main square. 88 to main square is a 4-5 min walk and same to the beach. We would stay here again. There is an upper pool
that technically is for rooms 1-6 and lower pool is for 7,8 room.

Beautiful place to stay. Location was close to everything but off the main roads to help with noise. There are a number of stairs if mobility is an issue. There are two pools. We used the one outside our room. It has great views down to the bay and beach area. The staff were all wonderful.

Look no further - this is the property you’d like to stay at during your time in Sayulita! We got the suite #3. Lemme tell you this - it’s the best decision I’ve made this year! #3 got the best view of both the ocean and the mountain. We really enjoyed spending time on the balcony enjoying a couple of beers and the breathtaking view. Besides the room, our host Lalo did an incredible job making sure our needs are met. He’s always there whenever we had questions about anything. If there’s anything about our stay that could be improved that would be the bed. One side of our bed made a lot of noise each time I got up for bathroom during the night. But besides that everything was great! We will for sure come back next time we visit Sayulita!

This place was fantastic! The room and all amenities were extremely clean and well kept. The beds were comfortable, the breakfast was the best we had during our stay and the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. A great but unintended benefit was that the property in the evening is really peaceful and quiet; I imagine had we stayed closer to town (its only a 5 min walk) that wouldn't have been the case. My only recommendation would be some identifying signage at the entrance. Overall, our expectations were exceeded and we can't wait to come back.

The property and host was amazing. LaLo the host was awesome. He was very helpful and accommodating. Offered to set up excursions, cooked breakfast for the guests every morning, scheduled taxis and even scheduled the covid test to come to the house while we laid by the pool. The house itself was great, loved the upper pool area. Enough room for all guests to share the patio. Our room #3 had a great view from the room. We loved that we were up on the hill above the town of sayulita. We were a short 5 minute walk from town with a nice view and through a scenic pathway. You were just far enough away to be away from the loud late nights of downtown. Overall would recommend to all my friends and look forward to staying there again next time we visit!

Eduardo was amazing, so friendly and accommodating. Made sure all our needs were met. Distrito 88 is a beautiful get away. We were looking for peace and privacy and we got that! All staff so kind with the desire to do a great job! We will return, it was such a wonderful stay. ❤️

Really neat property in the hills. It’s a 10 minute beautiful walk into town. The staff at the property is wonderful and if you need anything the property manager is just a text away! Fresh fruit for breakfast and very peaceful property.

My wife and I flet like we were at our home away from home! Beautiful views of the ocean and property is well- maintained. Lalo was amazing and eager to help with anything needed. Will definitely go back to Distrito 88!!

What a beautiful villa, and a truly wonderful staff.. Modern classic design with incredible views and privacy. Sitting on the balcony under the moon and stars with all the windows and doors open, comforted by tall coconut palms and tropical flora was a holiday.
