We had a wonderful stay at the Grand Palladium Vallarta and would absolutely return. It was perfect for a family vacation. The beach and ocean swimming were excellent, and one of the highlights of our trip was seeing so many whales right from the resort. There was also a great variety of pools for the kids, which kept everyone happy.

The staff were very friendly throughout our stay, and the food was amazing. We highly recommend upgrading to Family Selection — it was well worth it for our family. We ate most often at The Nest, which is available only to Family Selection guests, and it was a big part of what made our experience so enjoyable.

Overall, this resort was a fantastic choice for a family getaway, and we would definitely recommend it to others.

Overall a pretty bad experience.
Our check-in was decent, but when we didn't want to go to the walk through where they sell there travel club package they called and text me multiple time around 8 am, waking us up multiple times, begging us to go.

The pools were so dirty you couldnt see the bottom of the pool the first half of our stay.

The a la carte restaurants were pretty gross. It took almost 30 mins for someone to come take drink/food orders, after that the food came pretty quick.
Service in the buffet was incredibly slow, we couldnt get our own drinks, and the food was poor quality.

The staff where mostly dismissive and rude, aside from a few quality/friendly bartenders, and the table staff in the patio side of the buffet were always very quick and friendly.

Many of the wedding party we were here with had mold in there rooms and far worse experiences than us, and overall the communication from the hotel to guests was horrible.

We wouldn't choose to come back again.

Buffet food was amazing! Portfino & Bam Boo restaurant also amazing. Mexican restaurant was my least favourite. Resort was very clean. It’s placed on the side of a cliff, emerged within beautiful foliage and trees. If you have mobility issues, I wouldn’t suggest, simply because it’s alot of walking on slight inclines everywhere & many many stairs. The beach is excellent. Great for snorkelling & boogy boarding. The resort is far enough of out town that you don’t get swamped with locals constantly tying to sell you stuff all day on the beach. It’s about 30km out of PV. If you have an excursions planned, give yourself about a hour to get to town when it’s busy. This was our second time staying here and I would absolutely come back. It’s beautiful!

We had a mixed experience at Grand Palladium (Family Selection).
First the good things:
1) Kids club. Friendly staff, great amenities, day programming and evening shows. My kids loved it
2) Amenities. Good mix of beach, quiet pool, general pool with slides/waterfalls and Family selection exclusive pool
3) Food safety. All food was prepared well and we never had any stomach issues

Now the bad things:
1) Food taste. The taste was more miss than hit, especially at Family Selection (Nest) which was supposed to be the premium offering
2) Gym. Old, stuffy, small.
3) Cleanliness. Pool chairs were dirty most of the time.
4) Construction. There is a large construction site adjacent to Family Selection creating a lot of noise and dust, making it hard to relax by the pool during the day

Our bed was comfortable and the pool was great.
However, service in restaurants was inconsistent and there were many days that the pool had no servers at all. First world problems but not what you would expect from a 4-5 Star resort.

Really I’m needed a dehumidifier; too humid no matter how high we had AC. Food was lousy. Front desk staff were super unhelpful. Would not work with us when all transportation ceased & and shelter in place implemented. No communication whatsoever f how they would keep us safe; how we can extend stay. Nothing.

The room was spotless. The staff was courteous and friendly. However, I found there were a few amenities that were missing in the room one notable one the bath robes. There was also a scale missing so we could weigh ourselves. The other thing that was a little disappointing. The pillows in the room were actually very old and should be upgraded. Fresh pillows would be a pleasure unfortunately, the pillows provided a very poor sleeping experience.

Exceptional staff, minus the guy pushing the travel club! Our room was taken care of but in need of small repairs/refresh. Buffet is what you would expect and the à la carte Restaurants were amazing. The pools were fantastic, but could use more cleaning. Not sure if that was because of the chaos in Puerto Vallarta causing some of our services to be disrupted, but even with that going on it was a memorable experience.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Grand Palladium Vallarta! Lots of stuff stood out. Yes clean rooms! We thought the food at the buffet was great. The omelette station and taco bar were a big hit. But what stood out was the staff. Everyone had a smile. As soon as we arrived we felt welcomed.
The beach was great. I know there hasn’t been a lot said about the snorkeling but I thought it was pretty good. We were lucky there was quite a few days where the waves were calm and the water cleared up. We saw lots of rays, saw a few turtles and even a couple of eels. That was straight out front of the beach. I felt pretty safe even a couple hundred metres out from the beach. All in all we would go back again. Thanks Grand Palladium!

The whole place was spotless! This was the first time we stayed on the family selection side of this resort. The E-family host Josue was amazing.We were herewith our family(14 people) to celebrate our 50 th anniversary. The E-family host decorated our room while we’re out for a special dinner. We were so surprised when we returned to find the room filled with balloons and a congratulations banner!He also booked all of our suppers at the specialty restaurants and help alert staff to our allergies and special diet needs. The staff at the restaurants(especially the Nest) were wonderful and I felt so safe eating here.

Fridge stocked with lots of water and other drinks frequently.
Beach was great as were the pickleball courts .
The food was good. Booking of restaurants was challenging but it worked out. Overall we had a wonderful time.

Th staff seemed to be having an off week or something. We showed up and no one greeted us. House keeping forgot to leave towels when they took the old ones. They left 2 beers a day in the room ( no other booze) and didn't leave any a couple days. Restaurant's were hit and miss with service and quality. The sports bar was not open until 4. The service was extremely slow. We left after 30 minutes one day. The food you ordered in the sports bar was good. They were re-doing a lot of the place - the beach bar was closed- painting the outside so we couldn't use our deck.
The hills were a lot. No elevators- be ready to walk a lot

Everything was excellent! An absolutely stunning beach, very clean and spacious resort with excellent staff. The food and drinks were AMAZING! I read some reviews that said the food wasn’t good and I was nervous, but I was more than happy every single day. I feel anyone complaining is either in the 1% of incomes and frequents high end bougie places or they are people who are just never happy lol. 10/10 would recommend this for down to earth middle class people looking for an all around great resort experience.

The hotel may need some updates, but the location and the staff make it worth your stay! The food was better than some of the more expensive resorts that I have stayed at. Seeing whales from the infinity pool was more than I had hoped for. The beach is a little rough for swimming, but if you're brave, you can make it work. I recommend this resort if you're looking to get away from the concrete, it's lush and green and the sunsets can't be beat.

Yoo many people for resort size could never get a reservation for dinner or a chair at the pool. Buffet crowded and got repetitive. The good part - People are nice.
Overall property is average. Long lines at breakfast. Limited options for vegetarians in the dinner buffet (we had some in our group). Reservations to the restaurants were tough to get. We had lucky reserved a couple of days before getting there.
1. international cuisine restaurant - we had a reservation for 9.45pm. Food was cold when served. No one liked it.
2. Italian restaurant - good food,l except pizzas which were average
3. Mexican restaurant - nice sunset views. Decent food options. Nothing great
4. Pan Asian restaurant - Sushi was awesome. Noodles and fried rice were good too.

The major disappointment were the drinks. Heavily watered down. Too much syrup usage everywhere. The same pina colada outside the property was so much nicer.

Best part of the resort were their tacos which were made fresh and tasted great.

Rooms were ok, but nothing great.

Beach is fine, but had rocks at the bottom on a big part so could hurt legs.

Events to engage kids in the evening were good.

Overall - a decent property, but underwhelming in terms of luxury. Painful to stand in line for breakfast.

DO NOT RECOMMEND. I have gone to several resorts in Mexico with my family - we love Mexico so much we were married here several years ago. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had. Truly do have anything good to say about this resort. Starting with check in, we booked a king suite and assigned two double beds. We couldn’t get a new room until the 3rd night of our 6 night stay. The resort has lost its shine and was probably decent 5-10 years ago but is now a run down place. Don’t let the photos fool you. The Xbox room that my son was excited about was in an “exclusive” area that was not indicated when we booked. There were never enough pool or beach chairs so people were crowding in any open space and even had stuff on steps. Meals were pretty mid. Drinks came 20-30 mins after sitting, food was lukewarm and just not good. The sewage smell that hits you as you walk around the resort is disgusting. Not to mention someone probably threw up on the couch outside of the lobby bar because the stench was awful every time you walked into the xtra innings sports bar. Just bad all around. Do not stay here!

Overall a good stay. It was great to be able to rent kayaks, paddle boards etc all for free, and to surf right there on the property. The ala carte restaurants were very nice, especially La Adelita (the tableside guacamole was amazing). Walkways were also lovely. If I could change anything, it would be the lunchtime options which are limited, and making the rooms a bit cozier.

The beach was the nicest part of our stay. The food was okay. If you can eat at the restaurants the food is much better. The buffet is wild especially at breakfast. There was no order to the chaos.

The room we stayed in was so so. We didnt get the room we booked and were very disappointed and they hotel wasnt very helpful in fixing that problem. Also it was very hard to get any service from the front desk. Our mini fridge was the hardest thing to get filled. The gift shop is a complete rip off so make sure you buy necessities before you arrive to the property. And the staff trying to upsell was overwhelming. EVERYTHING costs extra. So much for all inclusive.

To top it off one of the rooms adjacent to us were smoking in non smoking rooms and it kept stinking up our room.

Staff was excellent, especially our Expedia concierge Jessy! He checked in with us every day and was so helpful.
We also enjoyed the 4pm food and drink resort activity classes. The proximity to the beach was the highlight of the trip though! Loved that they had boogie boards and surf boards for guests to use. The saltwater pool is also wonderful.
The main negative is the noise, every night we were there (Mon-Thurs) there was a wedding with loud music right outside our room until 11 or 12pm. It was so loud that the room would actually vibrate. That was not great.

The timeshare people made the experience disappointing. Not being upfront about the time and also little transparency.
The adult pool, appears that the filter was broken. Gross film floating on top and less water than the previous day.
Lastly, the whole having to reserve your dinners at the A La Carte's is frustrating as they were all taken except the NEST which was fantastic service and food.

This was a solid 3 star for us.
The absolute best feature of the resort is the beach without a doubt. Clean soft sand, no coral just some rocks, great swimming and snorkelling if you know where to go. My note for this would be that they do not put out nearly enough chairs on the beach there needs to be double.
The resort is on the smaller side but the capacity It can hold makes It feel smaller. Over the weekend we stayed there we felt cramped and It was very difficult for us to get reservations anywhere due to the amount of people in the resort for 4/10 days we stayed. The resort is open to the locals in Mexico which I think is great however once the locals filled the resort up It is extremely loud and crowded and does not feel like a 4 star resort in the slightest there are no quiet spaces on the property especially once the evening music starts.
The food was excellent I have no complaints there. Not the biggest variety It does get old after 10 days but the quality of food itself was amazing.
Every single staff member was AMAZING.
The plumbing is awful and there is very obvious maintenance that needs to be done that doesn’t seem to be getting done fast enough. Toilet seats missing, the showers in the rooms are terrible.
The maids only make your bed and give you more towels. Our sheets were not changed once in the 10 days we were there.
Overall this is criticism to the owners and facility itself. Price does not match experience in our opinion.

Check in was very slow, and areas of the resort were understaffed at periods, leaving us waiting. Otherwise the food and rooms were great.

Yes, the food options were good and a vast variety of cuisines to choose from. The staff was very helpful and responded well to concerns. We had to change rooms and they were very accomodating. Problem was the A/C in some of the rooms that was not working well. In some rooms the A/C was not cooling enough. Experienced one bad incident with our Uber that was detained, immediately after we exit the Resort. I made a written report (on the resort's request) so the incident could be documented and addressed. The experience would have been almost prefect,if it had not been by that one incident when we did Not feel Safe and instead intimidated & threathen. This (police stopping cars) should not be happening near the Resort's grounds.

We really enjoyed the breakfast buffet with the fresh tacos, waffles, pancakes, and omelettes. The entire facility was immaculately clean. Very much appreciated the amazing service from all of the staff. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, especially our concierge Terence and the restaurant managers Brayan, Oscar, and Tony. Also enjoyed the services provided from the resort photographer Rocha, had lots of fun having photo shoots.

The nightly entertainment was great. Really appreciated how easy it was to schedule reservations and having late check out provided with efficient bellhop services. The beach was perfect at this resort- sandy, spacious, and usually easy to find chairs and shade. Also appreciated that the vendors were not intrusive on the beach.

The only critique I would have is the food quality was only average. I did like that the sports lounge had a small buffet option open most of the day/night so you could find a snack regardless of time. They did their best to accommodate my partner's dietary restrictions but the buffets inconsistent labelling made meals a little harder to navigate. Not a lot of vegetarian options. I myself as a meat eater was not impressed with the flavor of the food, but at least there was a fair variety.

Overall we enjoyed our time at the resort due to the excellent service, beautiful beach, and well maintained facilities.

Some areas are falling apart for example infinity pool tiles are falling off and the water wasn’t flowing like infinity pool should , the resort doesn’t allow taxis to enter the front so when you checking out you need to walk with the luggages so you can past the gate, very inconvenient

Overall the resort was fantastic. Terence was great and helped us with anything we needed. We loved the salt water pool, swings, quiet pool and food selection. The entertainment was excellent. The only thing that would have made it better was the quiet pool water level was low most of the time we were there and so the water wasn't being filtered and was filthy.

Overall great vacation with our 2 children ages 2 and 6 but want to make other parents aware of hand foot and mouth disease contracted between October 28, 2025 and November 4, 2025 at the resort.
Our children were told they were only allowed 1 straw per day in their drinks at the pool bar and weren’t allowed to use their pool floaties in the bigger pool with us, but other children and adults were allowed theirs and other children were allowed to jump into the pool and into their parents arms but we were told no by a specific life guard.

Also be aware - the workers doing service on smoke detectors in the room went into our fridge and drank a Coca Cola and left pop all over the floor.
