Beach view room from 2nd floor, very cool ac in the room itself, friendly accommodating staff. Not a modern perfectly updated place but a humble historical building with great restaurant (CJs Crab Shack) on first floor. Perfect one nights rest before we headed out to cruise!

Room was clean, but very dingy and ran down, and also old, makes the cleanliness seem not clean, faucets were spraying water, cracks and missing porcelain on tub, plug was missing out of sink, and like I said, his old and dinged so didn’t feel clean, beds are hard as a rock along with the pillows, there is no controlled A/C so it was either FREEZING when building activated A/C or BURNING cause it wasn’t on, no fans either, and windows did open, but there was no screen or safety blanket? So you could literally fall STORIES if left open… also don’t bother asking any staff for assistance as every time I did they irritably took their headphones out of their ear like I was an inconvenience, lastly we booked this place with the elevator for a member who is disabled, but apparently the elevator has been out of service for years, so our guest had to find another hotel last minute to stay at that could accommodate, and we weren’t offered any refunds

The hotel was in a good location, however photos on Hotel.com were not reflective of the actual hotel… assuming there is a nicely decorated room on the premises… reception had no interaction with us at all (not complaining) bed sink in the middle and overlooked scruffiest car park… air con was so cold on the 1st night needed all the bedding from spare bed on main one to thaw out.

When booking, the website said the rooms were renovated and because we were across the street practically on the beach, I was excited and looking forward to the stay! When we arrived they discounted us the $25 check-in fee due to their elevator not working. The staff was very nice and apologetic. The rooms looked nothing like the pictures on the website. The bathtubs needed caulking and were worn (the ceramic or paint was coming off) The night stands next to the beds were dirty, worn, and outdated. The walls were dirty. It was freezing in our rooms and we were unable to control the temperature, we were told to close the vent (eyeroll)! The only thing that was good about the stay was the convenience of the location.

I don’t usually write reviews, but this experience was too frustrating not to share. From the moment I walked in, it was one issue after another.

The front desk receptionist was extremely rude and unwelcoming, acting as if I was inconveniencing her. I asked about early check-in and was bluntly told no. We waited in the lobby for a while and checked again before heading out for lunch, but she didn’t even ask for my phone number to notify me when the room was ready. When I requested a call, she had me write my number on a Post-it note, which felt unprofessional.

While waiting, I used the lobby restroom, and it was absolutely disgusting—honestly shocking. I’ve never seen a public restroom in that condition.

When our room was finally ready on the third floor, we found out the elevator was out of service and had to carry our large luggage up three flights of stairs. Later, when I went to get ice, there was no information anywhere. After going back downstairs, I was told the ice machine was broken and there was no ice available.

It didn’t get better from there. My husband went to shower and found that most of the towels were stained. Then at night, we realized the hotel is next to a very noisy area. There were people outside arguing, revving cars, and blasting music well into the night. Even with the windows closed and earplugs in, the noise was constant.

Overall, this stay was extremely disappointing. I would not recommend staying here.

The view was great, the staff was great. Location was ok. It was close to the beach and restaurants, which was great, but if you need an early bed-time, the party goes on until early in the morning. No ceiling fan or AC control so keep those blinds/curtains shut. For an overnight stay, it was perfect.

Although there was the minor inconvenience of the elevator being out of order, the room temp on the third floor was perfect! And we can’t speak enough about the perfect location. Plenty of things to do, beaches, the Miami Beach sign, and lots of nearby shopping and restaurants to choose from. A pleasant surprise, after reading too many negative reviews.

The only downside related to the location is the loud party atmosphere, unless that is what you are coming for. The music and street noise on the streets below echo into the room late into the night. But this is to be expected for the location, so I can’t complain too much.

The only 5 star is location close to SoFi. The 2 bed suite is far better than the queen. The pictures are definitely doctored. If you think of it as glamping or a hostel then you’ll survive. If you’re planning on sleeping in a bed with someone bring your silicone ear plugs because the bed is so loud when you make any movements and it tacos in. The pillows are hard pancakes and there is no thermostat in the room. Everything is very old. Our stay was with kids so we sucked it up but as soon as the kids left we upgraded.

To start with, the elevator was out of order and had to carry 3 large bags up 3 flights of stairs. The room we were in had not been cleaned. The toilet was clogged and filled with feces. There was no one on site who would plunge the toilet. I had to plunge it my self and then get into a cleaning closet to get supplies to sanitize the bathroom afterwards. There denied there was any other room and no effort was made to make the situation better. Do not stay at this property.

The room was a good size. We had 2 rooms on different floors. The room on the first floor had its on A/C to accommodate your own temperature. The room on the second floor did not have its own thermostat and we froze. Also, the elevator was broken and no staff to carry your bags. It’s not luxury. The beds are hard and the pillows are rocks.

The online pictures of this hotel must have been taken 20+yrs ago or AI generated. Although the location is fantastic, the condition of the hotel is not. The elevator is permanently out of order and you can tell that it has been for a long time. Also, parking… they don’t mention that you have to pay for it. They have a small lot behind the hotel but they will charge you $40-$60 a day to park there depending on what is happening in the area that day. I would choose another hotel.

Hotel is too old. In very poor condition. No elevator. Valet does not handle your car but you pay $40 per day anyway and they're not operated by the hotel. Only 6 parking spaces. Daylight in the room 24/7. Broken fixtures in room. Safe is not mounted to a surface, so cannot be used. Floor was not swept. Room was not clean. Sheets and towels were the only clean things.

Property location was excellent…but the only good thing about it. Right across from South Beach and on Ocean Drive. Our room was on the 3rd floor and the elevator wasn’t working so we had to haul all our luggage up and down all the stairs. We were allowed to check in early at no cost and deposit was waved because of this. Property is old and in need of a full renovation, not just updating. The rooms are tiny, not very clean and very hot. No fans or thermostat to adjust the temperature. The beds were uncomfortable and felt like air mattresses. There was a lot of noise outside from vehicles and other things that we heard all night. We only stayed one night and the price was half the cost or more of other properties on Ocean Drive but I’m unsure if we would stay again.

I ask if we could use One of their fans and he told me no, but there were two sitting behind him not being used. And ask for washcloths, we could not get those either. We were not satisfied with our stay. The hotel is much older than what it looks like in the pictures. We completely understand keeping the hotel historic but be honest in the pictures. The room had cracks in the walls and was more outdated than what the pictures presents. The lobby is also not the same as the pictures, there is a section blocked off by a partitioner where they are selling drinks out the window. Check in time was 4 and we understood being told we had to wait however, people came in after us and were given a room; we literally had to wait until 3:50 to get our room although we did arrive earlier. The elevator was broken and that was not disclosed to us previously to arriving to the hotel. No alternative help was provided; we had to walk our luggage to the third floor on our own and was told we weren’t charged an “early check-in fee” as a courtesy of not having the elevator; 10 mins. To check-in is not that early.

The location is the selling point to this rating and the suite we stayed in was huge. We had ocean view room. You can’t get closer to the beach for this price especially in Miami.
The room is dated with some of its furniture and the beds are not the best but as I noted above, the location, rooms size and price makes up for it.
I would stay again for this reason.

We had a great stay at this hotel!
The lovely girl with the beautiful curly hair at the reception was incredibly friendly and welcoming. We arrived early, and she kindly gave us towels so we could enjoy the beach while our suitcases were safely stored in a separate room, such thoughtful service.

Our room on the second floor had good air conditioning, and overall everything was clean and comfortable. The beds were pretty good, and we slept well. Family members stayed in a room on the third floor; unfortunately, the WiFi didn’t work well there, which was the only downside.

The location is fantastic, and the service truly made our stay special.
We will definitely come back to this hotel!

The hotel is in serious need of updating. The front desk staff were polite. That’s where my good experience ended. The elevator was broken - I’d read about this in previous reviews but I assumed the problem would have been sorted by now! Not the case and we had to drag our luggage up to the third floor. If you book this hotel - assume there is no elevator.

Hallways were a preview as to how unkept this hotel is. Musty smells, dirty, peeling wallpaper etc. made our way to our room and was not surprised at how dirty the interior was. Immediately checked for bed bugs and was pleased to discover none. The bedding however was stained and there was something resembling fecal matter or dirt, who knows at that point along the bedskirt. It was along the base so we steered clear (it was obvious that a call to the front desk would accomplish nothing as everything in this hotel was in rough shape and dirty so why bother)

The furniture had potential to be cute and eclectic however the severe water damage, broken components and overall maintenance ruined that.

My husband showered in this place and noticed pubic hairs left in the sink and around the drain. The caulking around the tub was covered in black mold and the floors in the entire hotel room were absolutely filthy. When we told the front desk they told us they had a new cleaning company and would mention it.

It was a horrible experience and this is the first time I have EVER left a review like this. Absolutely do not recommend.

This is mine and my husbands second time staying here the night before a cruise; the last time was in 2024. We had a very similar stay only this time it was much dirtier and less maintained. You cannot control the temperature in the rooms, my husband and I were freezing. Also, the elevator has been out of order both times we stayed here, which leads me to believe that it never functions since it’s been 2 years.

If you’re just staying there for a night before traveling, it’s fine, but just know you’ll be lugging your stuff up the stairs and the rooms well below average.

Our check in was uneventful. Elevator definitely still not working so good luck lugging your luggage up those steep stairs. There is no bellboy and the security guard is too busy on their cellphone.
The entire hotel is outdated, and dirty. Every corner of our room and especially the bathroom could use a good scrub. Only one outlet in the room, which sparks when you try to plug something in. Have to hold down the flush for the toilet to actually work. If you're in one of the front rooms facing the beach, the windows are thin and the music from below is loud.

3/10 do not recommend unless you're young and here to party

The staff went above and beyond to accommodate adding an extra day to our stay and a late check out since we got stranded there due to a storm up north and our flight was changed to very late the next day.

The location is perfect! Right in the middle of South Beach and directly across from beach access.

Remember, all South Beach boutique hotels can be noisy. The buildings are old (one of the charms) and this area attracts a party crowd!

Location was great. The hotel itself is quite run down. The elevator doesn't work, but I suspect that is the norm, since reviews at least 4 months ago mention the same.

The room is fine for sleeping, but it is essentially a dorm room. Small TV, no thermostat, no extra amenities.

If I was staying in the area for more than a single night, I would suggest finding a hotel with a bit more to offer. For our purpose (night before a cruise), it met our needs.

No housekeeping service available. No microwaves in the entire hotel! Doors have physical keys so don’t loose them. WiFi cost extra and is super spotty - it was free for us to cover the fact that the elevator is broken, which they failed to mention until we checked in. Good beach access for a great price. Just don’t plan on being very comfortable in the room. We would stay again I guess just because of the price and location - can’t beat that.

Our stay did not fully meet our expectations.
According to the hotel’s information, check-in is available at 4:00 PM, however, our family was not given a room until 5:00 PM. This was especially challenging as we were traveling with two young children and had already arrived at the hotel.

In addition, the room was missing some basic amenities, such as bottled water and cups for brushing teeth, which we normally expect to be provided.

While the staff was polite, the late room availability and lack of basic amenities affected our overall comfort. Unfortunately, this was not the experience we had hoped for.

Our room overlooked the parking lot. The AC is not individually controlled and the windows are bolted shut. The only elevator in the building didn’t work and neither did the wi-fi.

The hygiene of the room is not good, the facilities are outdated, and there is a peculiar smell. My three-year-old kid had a red rash all over his body after staying overnight.

This property is not accurately represented in the photos. It is in a serious state of neglect. The elevator was broken, the wifi was broken, the windows didn't open, the shower didn't work, and there was no air conditioning, just a fan coming through a vent. It looks like it hasn't been taken care of in decades. The staff were very nice. We forfeited our entire 4 nights stay after one night and went and paid for another hotel.

Staff was good. Hotel a little dated but nice. Apparently elevator hasn’t worked in months. Neither of my room lamps worked. Tv wanted WiFi code to work. Maintenance guy was off and they couldn’t do anything 3 out of 10. Days
