Our “executive “ room was small and dark with no shelves or drawers to put anything in only a cavernous hanging wardrobe. Air con unit on the wall was noisy but efficient though it did produce a curious groaning noise every twenty minutes or so. No room to move around the room at all. Positives were comfortable bed and plenty of hot water. Service on the terrace and in breakfast was slow and a bit chaotic. Drinks took over 20 minutes to arrive and breakfast coffee and eggs were ordered three times before they appeared. Not impressed with the 12.5 percentage service charge on top of already pricy drinks.

We booked the Woodlands Park based on the reviews of the Staff/Team there. We were not disappointed! Everyone was professional and friendly. Ray, Ashya and George were particularly helpful! Thank you ! We stayed in a Junior Suite which was a little dated, not keen on the Purple but that’s a personal preference, but it was very clean and a had comfy bed. The room was well equipped with an Iorn,kettle, mini fridge and toiletries etc. We would definitely stay again. Woodlands is a period property, with lots of character and a fabulous decorative glass ceiling.

Beautiful Hotel
Lovely stay at this historic beautiful hotel. The hotel has so much character and history but also offers a lovely warm, friendly environment with lovely staff. The grounds are lovely and would make a great location for a wedding. We had a look around the local area which I would recommend. Cobham is a little town worth a visit just down the road with lovely coffee shops and shops.

We booked a suite for the four of us at the Woodlands Park Hotel a few months prior for the first two nights of our 8 nights visiting my Daughters and Grandchildren.
Having just arrived from an 11 hour flight from America we were looking forward to a fast check-in.
Sadly we were informed at check-in that we would have to move rooms after one night. Only staying two nights in total this was unacceptable. If I had known prior I would have booked our accommodation elsewhere. After 30 minutes of arguing two and fro, adjoining rooms was the Reception Managers final solution.
Having reviewed the rooms we were extremely pleased with the outcome. Modern and well equipped rooms with one room for my wife and I and the boys in the adjoining room with their own bathroom. We were also offered lunch by way of an apology for the mix up and unnecessary stress and in addition two mornings of complimentary full Breakfast. We gladly accepted.
The next morning the Hotel Manager met with us to apologize. He was extremely pleasant and sincere and appreciated his reasoning and professional attitude.

Food was also top notch.

We stayed one night while visiting relatives in the area and attending Wimbledon and it was perfect. In the countryside on10 acres, it retains the feel of a Victorian era home, with decor, creaky staircases and secret rooms. In fact, we stayed in Lillie Langtry’s room, where she apparently stayed as friend and mistress to Edward VII. Our room had a secret closet area that connected secretly to his room! Wonderful stay in a beautiful setting. I was travelling with my young son and they couldn’t have been more attentive and helpful. Only issue we had was it took a little while for our meal to be prepared in the evening, travelling with other adults this wouldn’t have been a problem but 5 year olds tend not to wait so patiently!

Beautiful vintage hotel with huge lawn area. Beautifully maintained. Decent sized rooms, clean bathroom. Not best noise insulation though. Breakfast very good (made to order), courteous and helpful staffs. At least 2 restaurants in-house. Prices moderate. Nice dinner experience seating on the terrace outside overlooking the lawn. Very calm except for the noises from the highway nearby. Uber available. Not much other eating options around.

The best part of our stay was leaving the hotel.
On the outside the property looks gorgeous, but once we got to our room, it was downhill from there. There was a disgusting brown stain on the ceiling, the walls were full of scuff marks, the bathroom was mould city, wifi in the room was like dial-up, housekeeping entered the room even when there was a Do Not Disturb on the door (while I was in the middle of changing), we were given the wrong information on 2 occasions, breakfast was lukewarm when it finally arrived (but also got served meat when I asked for vegetarian), the cantaloupe at breakfast was served up even though it was already spoiled (they should taste their food before serving), staff needed more training on customer service.

Lovely looking venue, but filled with weddings on the days that we stayed. Very noisy after midnight from drunken wedding guests under our window. We prefer to sleep with the windows open but had to close them to try to block out the noise. Breakfast needs some organisation. Upon arrive you may be asked several times about what beverage you wanted but it does not appear quickly. First time we had to wait half an hour for a cup of tea! Then learned that you just keep asking everyone who passes.Lovely staff.

Soon afterwards, the house became the national Fire Service College. Today, our house is a home from home; a place where you will create unforgettable memories that will stay with you long after you leave.
We are proud of our rich history, which makes us so unique. The Estate dates back to the 16th Century, when it was sold by Henry Owen to the Evelyn family.
John Evelyn, one of three sons of Richard Evelyn, was passionate about botanicals and arboriculture and was particularly spellbound by the Italian Renaissance gardens he had seen on his tour of Italy. Inspired by what he had discovered on his travels, on his return to Wotton he constructed an Italian garden and temple, designed by his cousin, Captain George Evelyn, which was soon joined by a parterre garden complete with an Italian fountain.
The Gardens As you wander through our 13 acres of garden, you'll discover corners of English eccentricity that have become synonymous with the Wotton Estate. Ours was the first Italian garden in England, completed in 1652, adorned with Roman temples and original mosaics.
The gardens have been deemed worthy of protection and are unusually, individually Grade II listed. Built for intrigue, discover their mystical nature that is fit for any romantic explorer.
