Very disappointing stay.
I stayed at this hotel during an extreme heatwave, with outdoor temperatures exceeding 30°C and reaching as high as 34°C. Unfortunately, the air conditioning in my room did not work at all, despite being set to 16°C.
The room became unbearably hot, making it very difficult to sleep. Reception was unable to offer a room change and only provided a small fan, which simply circulated warm air. I spent several nights sweating and struggling to get any proper rest.
The hotel later acknowledged that there were issues with the air-conditioning system, but no effective solution was provided during my stay.
As a result, I was forced to check out four nights early and book another hotel at my own expense. The difference was immediate: the new hotel had fully functioning air conditioning and a comfortable room temperature, allowing me to finally get a good night's sleep.
I understand that maintenance issues can happen, but the lack of a working air-conditioning system, alternative accommodation, or a satisfactory resolution made this a very disappointing experience.

The staff were all very helpful, we had our 7 year old grandson with us and the staff made a fuss of him to, breakfast and evening meals all great. The only slight downside was the room service element where we didn't have enough bath towels, 1 between 3 and even when requested the best that could be provide were a few extra hand towels. Similarly milk for the room tea and coffee not replaced until asked for. But apart from that I'm sure we'll stay again.

We arrived at 3pm, the check in staff were lovely & helpful. Our room was clean, tidy (1 Double Premium Sofa Bed) - the aircon was lovely as it was already on! Some of the room could have used a lick of paint, some areas needed some moderate fixes to have lifted this up to five stars. Overall though clean, comfortable & the tea / coffee facilities were lovely. Milk in the fridge too :)
We had cocktails & bar snacks around 4pm which were tasty, good sized portions. As the weather was so nice we sat outside which had a nice atmosphere and was regularly cleared up by the attentive staff.
We chose to use the pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. All were small but perfect for us -it was quiet after 7pm (no children) & very few others in there so felt that we had a very relaxing time. Showers & facilities poolside were good & had everything we needed.
We had drinks at the bar & were well looked after by Eamonn (brilliant barman) and had dinner in the restaurant where Ishma gave outstanding service. Our main meal was delicious and quite a big portion for the money, so we were very satisfied!
Great night sleep had by us in our very comfortable bed and sofa bed! Highlight of the stay - breakfast was incredible! Included in our hotel price - which was a bargain rate! Julie and Alison did an amazing job taking us through the huge buffet and you could eat as much as you like. I have travelled a lot and this buffet was one of the best that I have seen. Fabulous stay -great value

Pool was nice and they let the kids have inflatables. Nice outdoors seating. Most of the staff were great and made you feel welcome. They were great with kids and made them feel important. Food is nice enough, added bonus as children eat free from the kids menu.

I would never normally leave a negative review but unfortunately our stay at the Holiday Inn Shepperton was disappointing - the staff were not welcoming and sometimes rude. The corridors had crockery on the floor from the night before which had not been collected, and in the room there were garments from a previous guest which had not been cleaned away. I would not recommend a stay here.

A very poor experience. None of the rooms had working air conditioning, which appeared to be centrally switched off, and despite raising it multiple times, nothing was done. Offering two glasses of wine for 11 people felt completely inadequate.
One room (226) was in an unacceptable state — wet bed, hairs in the bathroom, urine on the toilet, dirty surfaces and no bin liners. It was reported at 6:30pm and not partially addressed until after midnight, which is unacceptable. The only gesture offered was a Baileys, which was frankly insulting.
Two rooms were next to a delivery bay, and with no air con the windows had to stay open, meaning guests were woken around 4am by deliveries. When I asked to speak to the duty manager the next morning, I was told they refused to come out. We were only offered 30% off two rooms, despite all six being affected.
A formal complaint has since received no response at all, and as this appears to be an IHG franchise, there seems to be no accountability from IHG either. Overall, a very disappointing stay well below expected standards.

Excellent stay at the IHG Sheppterton. It was a great location and the hotel itself, staff and amenities were great. Perfect for families and they have a kids area which my kids throughly enjoyed. Good size swimming pool and everything was clean. Food was delicious and grest value - kids eat free. Will definitely be returning.

A couple of issues like the pool being closed for a repaint for a couple of days. This is as out of their hands though so not the hotel’s fault. They were wonderful and gave us a free upgrade to compensate for the lack of pool. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable and relaxing. They were happy for us to have an extra hour the next day as we had slept in, The bed was far too comfortable. It was the best night’s sleep we have ever experienced. We didn’t have breakfast but the breakfast area was modern and had plenty of space. The interiors were modern and well kept. There was a little bit of paint that needed a new coat due to peeling in the bathroom behind the door but that was the only possible thing that could be done to improve the interior that we saw. It certainly made no difference to our stay. They had decorators in doing some upkeep other rooms so I am sure they are making sure they keep their high standards. The service is that of a five star hotel. They really go that extra mile. Even calling us a taxi for an event we were attending, without hesitation. The staff were extremely friendly, so much so, that we would not hesitate in staying here again. They are a huge asset to Holiday Inn. Infact, I was extremely impressed with the interior design, the bar and restaurant area looked very up to date and well maintained. Book, you won’t be disappointed.

£8 to park overnight and £16.95 for breakfast which is excessive if you want yoghurt and fruit and a cup of tea I wish they’d have a way of offering a minimal breakfast at a fair price say £8? Not just here obviously. The facility is what you expect from IHG. When I mentioned the smelly drain in the bathroom they were very responsive and the staff are professional and helpful.

Holiday Inn London–Shepperton by IHG has always been our family’s most favourite hotel in the UK. Whenever my son’s school term break or a long holiday begins, this is the first place we want to come to refresh ourselves and truly enjoy some chill family time.

During this Christmas and New Year season, we enjoyed two unforgettable and amazing stays here (22nd–23rd December 2025 & 2nd–3rd January 2025), and once again, the hotel exceeded our expectations.

Our wonderful experience began at reception. When we discovered that something in our room was not working properly, the amiable and professional receptionist Ms. Tea approached our room immediately. She showed us the utmost care and concern and helped us exchange for a much more comfortable and convenient room, especially suitable for my only son. As the kids’ swimming time was set until 7:00 p.m., Tea kindly suggested that we go swimming first and return to reception later to collect the new room keys. Thanks to her thoughtful arrangement, we had more than enough time to fully enjoy the excellent swimming pool, Jacuzzi, dry sauna, and wet steam room. It truly helped both adults and kids to relax and chill completely.

After our swimming session, we were very hungry. At that moment, Restaurant Manager Mr. Nadeem approached us and brought my son some board games and painting sheets. My son was extremely excited, especially because Nadeem remembered him. His warm and thoughtful gesture made us feel very close and cheerful.

Happy with everything at the Holiday Inn Shepperton on a family weekend including a trip to nearby Hampton Court. Generally a good level of refurbishment throughout. Rooms were comfortable, clean and adequately equiped. Breakfast was good with a lot of choice. We ate at 8am and went back with our teenagers who ate at 10am and both times everything was looking fresh and well stocked. Check in was friendly and helpful. Pool, jacuzzi and sauna were clean with modern changing rooms (lockers and fresh towels). Would recommend.
