This is our 3rd time at this hotel and we love it. The view sea side, the rooms, and the walkability of the location to the city center. The only drawback is the parking, as everytime we have arrived the place parking was difficult. A+ Hotel

The hotel overall was nice and breakfast was excellent. However, we were travelling with a child and there was no place set up for her to sleep when we arrived. We called down to reception and asked for the sofa bed to be made up. Staff dropped off bedding but did not make up the bed. Once the sofa bed was made, there was very little space to manoeuvre around the room. There was also loud, thumping music being played at an event downstairs until around midnight that made it difficult to get to sleep.

Very poor and dated decor and 'vibe'. 'Musik' everywhere including loudly from pool areas from exactly 8:00am every morning to wake you up. Noisy building work going on at front door which twice started at 5:00am. food was indifferent, decor shabby and from a 1980 time warp. It was in a convienient location and the views were good but the 'pool area' noise and building work ruined it for us.

Didn't like - parking was problematic; it was difficult to find a parking spot anywhere near the hotel on multiple occasions. We also believe we sustained some damage to our car while parked. We notified you of this via email and have yet to receive a response.

Some disappointing lapses

The hotel is very nice and the staff are friendly and helpful. Some things were surprising though in a hotel of this quality - the curtains not being of sufficient quality to keep out any of the bright sunlight, the only way to turn on the fan was by climbing up on the bed, the tv remote not working. A bit disappointing in a hotel at this price point.

Lovely location and great service. Only negative was that my room wasn’t ready for check-in at 3pm as promised which left me little time to get ready for my event.
It is a big hotel and there is lots of guests so expect queues for checkin, bar, breakfast buffet etc
I would stay again and try the spa facilities next time.

Disappointing, not fit for 4 star rating

I had a reservation for just one night, which turned out to be enough. The room wasn’t ready until 40min AFTER check-in (3pm according to their own instructions), so I was asked to just sit in the reception area until the room was ready for me.
When the room was ready, I was not offered a free drink at the bar as all the other guests, whom I could see and hear from where I was waiting, so I asked if I also qualified for a free drink. I got one, which was only valid that same evening, an evening I already had plans for, so I had no use for it after all.
My room was down the hall from the elevator, a very frequently used elevator, and not only could I hear the door opening and arrival sounds in my room, the whole room shook when the elevator when up and down -it was very difficult to fall asleep like this.
Also, weirdly, the thin top mattress just below the sheet was at least 30cm narrower than the mattress which made a ridge where I had to sleep.
On the up-side, there was a bottle of wine in my room -to compensate for the construction noise outside my window -but no glass-so I had to drink it out of a coffee mug.
In my opinion it is also very late for breakfast to start at 7:30am on weekends, most other hotels I stay at breakfast is available from 6am every day of the week.

Incredible place to give mind and body a break

The hotel is beautiful, well maintained, very clean and the view and access to the beach are incredible. We had dinner at 1861, the food was delicious and the staff were very friendly. Our room was nicely decorated and very spacious; the only thing that I didn’t like was the blanket, even though it was very soft, it was too thick so we couldn’t sleep very well.

Summer by the sea

Great stay at a first class resort hotel

Amazing stay at a resort hotel. We paid for a room with ocean view and regretted nothing. Private balcony with the sound of ocean waves rolling in fit so well with the relaxing time spent walking the beach and hanging out in the many heating pools and other spa treatments. The food from the lobby restaurant hit the spot and the lobby bar was fun and hopping well into the evening.

Stunning hotel . Staff absolutely fantastic , so helpful . Breakfast was amazing . The room was spotless . ( just second day when they got to clean the room ) . The food in the bar was red hot & so fresh . We ate lunch one day . Was greeted by a lovely Swedish lady Katrina ( I think ) nothing was too much trouble for her . We told her that we was taking the ferry to Sweden . Katrina told us which way to go. I am going back in a couple of months with my son , to fish. Would we even consider staying somewhere else . Great location for visiting Kronborg Castle

Lovely hotel near the beach, and very convenient for exploring Kronborg Castle (15/20 min walk w children in tow).
Undergoing work at present but decor is tasteful and atmosphere is relaxing.
Great breakfast.
Unfortunately the swimming pool is part of an adult only spa (we had our children with us) so we couldn’t use it.

Stagnant air and closed pool

I was scheduled to stay three days at the hotel. The reception area and location was nice with a beautiful view of the water from some areas, but the room seemed to have no AC or airflow of any kind. The pool was also closed for maintenance, which I was not told about in advance. I checked out a day early due to business reasons, and was promised a refund for the last day, but after multiple calls and inquiries on my behalf by Expedia, they did not give me the refund.

Wenn man die lowbudget Zimmer bucht, die auch noch teuer genug sind, muss man damit rechnen das sie eine schlechte Lageh haben, insbesondere die Einzelzimmer, entweder sieht man aufs Dach mit dem Geruch aus der Klimalüftung aus der Küche, oder sie liegen über der Raucherecke des Hotels, bei den Dppelzimmer, das sogar ein Superior Zimmer sein sollte, ging der Blick ins grüne, allerdings auf den Parkplatz. Das war aber noch okay, dafür war das Zimmer ja etwas günstiger, Aber was mich am meisten gestört hat, das Zimmer lag direkt über der An und Ablieferung, das heißt nachts ab drei Uhr wurde der Müll abgeholt und morgens früh die Ware angeliefert. Und das sehr laut stark, so das es bis nach oben ins Zimmer schepperte.
Das Früstücksbüffett war ausgezeichnet!

Einzigartige Lage direkt am Strand, Zimmer mit Seeblick, hervorragendes Frühstück, liebevoll ausgestattete Lobby (Sofas, Sessel, überall Möglichkeiten sich zu beschäftigen - Brettspiele, Billard, etc... auch am Strand.) Etwas mehr Stauraum hätte ich mir gewünscht, der Schrank war sehr klein, ein Kleid aufzuhängen, schwierig. Aber sonst nur zu empfehlen!

Tycker så där om vistelsen.
Bodde i ett superior rum med balkong på andra våning i huvudbyggnaden. Besvärades en av dagarna av matos från restaurangen som låg nedanför vilket gjorde det mindre trevligt att sitta på balkongen.
Rummet låg ovanför en konferenslokal som hade många gäster som var mycket högljudda och avslutade konferensen med hög musik sent på kvällen. Musiken gjorde det inte möjligt att sitta kvar ute på balkongen och slog även igenom trots att man hade gått in och stängt. Personalen var dock lyhörd efter klagomål och det blev tystare.
Klockan 17 kom de för att städa rummet, vi avböjde då vi ville sitta och ha mysigt på balkongen. Man skulle tydligen säga till om man önskade få städat tidigare på dagen men den informationen framkom inte till oss.
Upplever balkongen dåligt städad.
Sängarna är hårda.
Frukosten var mycket bra.

Från det ögonblick vi anlände till hotellet infann sig ett lugn som genomsyrade hela vistelsen. Miljön är helt enkelt magisk – smakfullt inredda utrymmen, vackra omgivningar och en atmosfär som får stressen att rinna av en direkt.

Frukosten bjöd på noggrant utvalda råvaror och en härlig variation.

Hotellets bar var pricken över i:et – stilren, med en avslappnad men exklusiv känsla. Drinkarna var välbalanserade, och personalen kunnig och vänlig, med fingertoppskänsla för service.

Sammanfattningsvis, återigen en fantastisk vistelse som uppfyllde alla förväntningar. Hit återvänder vi gärna!

Dejligt ophold, blev opgraderet til et større værelse, super service af receptionisten (Kristoffer)
Hvis der er noget som kunne forbedres, bedre eller nye brusehoveder. Restaurant rigtig lang tid før maden kom, fik desserten kl 22:30 og en time før vi fik forretten og næsten en time før hovedetretten.

Der var en del larm fra andre gæster udenfor, og ovenpå gik de i bad efter kl. 24, hvilket larmede meget igennem afløbene ned til mit værelse. I morges var der igen støj fra andre gæster. Bedre lydisolering ville hjælpe meget.

2 ud af 5 stjerner – Skuffende oplevelse

Vi kan desværre kun give 2 stjerner – én for den dejlige beliggenhed og én for det søde og imødekommende personale. Resten af opholdet levede slet ikke op til forventningerne.

Hotellet bar tydeligt præg af at fokusere på kvantitet frem for kvalitet. Værelset var slidt, og der var en gennemtrængende kloaklugt på badeværelset, som gjorde det ubehageligt at opholde sig der.

Spaafdelingen var alt for overfyldt. Dampbadene virkede ikke, flere spots i loftet var defekte, og pools var fyldt med gæster, der sad med drinks – hvilket ikke harmonerer med et afslappende spaophold. Der stod tomme drinksglas på poolkanter og rundt omkring i spaområdet, og generelt kunne renligheden være markant bedre.

I restauranten sad man så tæt, at man nærmest deltog i naboernes samtaler. Maden var i bedste fald middelmådig og igen mere fokuseret på mængde end på kvalitet. Som veganer oplevede vi, at den veganske version af menuen blot var den almindelige ret uden det animalske element – uden nogen form for erstatning – hvilket resulterede i en kedelig og ubalanceret ret. Til samme pris, vel at mærke.

Alt i alt fremstod hotellet som et forsøg på at være et \"Instagram-hotspot\", men det mangler substans. Det markedsføres som et spa- og wellnesshotel med gastronomi i særklasse, men det lever det desværre ikke op til – hverken på faciliteter, spaoplevelser eller mad. Til den pris forventer man et helt andet niveau.

Umuligt at sove pga. høj musik

Der blev spillet ekstremt højt musik i det store rum, hvor de spiller bordtennis lige under mit værelse (nr. 260) helt frem til 01:15 om natten. Det var svært at læse eller se en film, og selvfølgelig fuldstændigt umuligt at sove i larmen. Gentagne gange bad jeg personalet om at slukke musikken, men det blev ikke respekteret. Jeg synes ikke man kan være bekendt at behandle gæsterne på den måde, og jeg regner ikke at overnatte på Hotel Marienlyst igen.

Good location needs updating

The hotel needs some service and up-keep. Dinner was ok, the server just asked if I wanted to pay, not if I might like dessert or coffee:tea. My room was not clean, I informed the receptionist that I needed house keeping to remove a very disgusting toilet brush. They never came.
The seaside view is wonderful and a comfortable sleep.
The breakfast hostess and staff along with the food is outstanding!

Hotellet ligger smukt og tæt på Øresund, det lever op til et Spa hotel og der er en god stemning i lobbyen
Gratis gode lånecykler, hunde er velkomne og mange spil i lobbyen
Eneste minus til et stjernehotel er, elendig tilbud på TV kanaler

Har bestilt et dobbeltværelse i dobbeltseng men fik et værelse med to senge enkelt og da man gør opmærksom på det får man bare at vide af det er jeg ked af det kan jeg da godt se meget ringe
