A lovely warm welcome from friendly staff, and a great first impression. The reception is beautiful and modern, as was my room. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and everything was fresh and immaculately clean.
The bar is really nice, and there was a sunny terrace to enjoy a drink. The breakfast room is beautiful, and the breakfast selection was excellent. Very friendly staff here room
I did book the hotel as a break for an overcast / rainy few days because it has an indoor pool. Unfortunately the indoor pool isn’t heated, and the sauna was out of order. They did have a hot tub, which one of the friendly staff helped me remove the top from. Perhaps I should have checked about the pool before booking, but it didn’t impact my experience otherwise.

We’ve just left the hotel and were very impressed. The staff are amazing and give you a tour of the hotel when you check in. As it’s November, the pools (indoor and outdoor) close around 6pm but the outdoor pool isn’t heated so no one was using it anyway. Indoor pool isn’t heated either but they have a nice hot tub in the same area. The sauna was out of order when were there.

The breakfast was fabulous with lots of choice and stocked up very frequently. Selection of boiled, scrambled and fried eggs, bacon, sausages, cold meats & cheeses, hot out of the over bread rolls, pastries, juices and 3 coffee machines - again wonderful staff at breakfast

Great place and would definitely go back. Was very quiet, due to the time of year and only breakfast served - couldn’t get an evening meal there

Approx 5 min walk, down a fairly steep hill, to a selection of bars and restaurants but not like a traditional strip you’d see in the bigger towns

Rooms were spotless and cleaned every day. Bathrooms could do with an upgrade but were also very clean, if dated

Great hotel - stylish, calm, with very friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was outstanding! Parking was very easy, right in front of the hotel. My room was furnished with great style. The bathroom was a bit outdated, but everything was spotless and worked perfectly.

After our five day stay, I am happy to share my experience because I see lots of value at this property.

PRAISE
! Large rooms, roomy balconies
! Huge pool with tall palms
! Great location : beach and city center are 10 minutes walk away
! Best breakfast of the four hotels we stayed at while in Portugal
! Claudio gave us a tour upon our arrival; we felt very welcome.
! Romulus our breakfast waiter greeted us with a hearty \"good morning!\" every day.
! Also awesome were: The breakfast service manager and the chef whose sunny side up eggs were beautiful to see before they were found to be hot and delicious!

? Why wasn't there a real hairdryer in my bathroom?
? You want me to pay extra to use the safe in my room?!
? This one upset me because I didn't feel trusted:
I had to walk to the front desk and leave a €20 deposit in order to have two towels to use at the pool!

POTENTIAL
This place has great potential but it feels like it's run by an accountant. Hang the
accountant! Instead, hang a tapestry or two.

Focus on finding the flourishes that surprise and endear patrons to your brand.

Lobby modern and clean. Giselle???the guest service staff very friendly and helpful. Pool area was wonderful but should be heated. Breakfast had a large selection of hot and cold food. Fresh fruit too!!

Rooms need refurbishing but linen and toiletries were above average. Could use bottled water, coffee and tea in room or in lobby as breakfast isn't until 8a.m.

We were required to pay the local tax when we checked in but when we checked out we were told it wasn't paid. The issue was eventually resolved so we didn’t have to pay it twice. Bad experience after we had enjoyed our stay up until then.

The hotel listing said a number of things that it did not have. Laundry facilities, we are on a month trip and planned ahead. Spoke to the manager & he just said, no Expedia just write anything, then started walking around the lobby shouting. There is also no “free daily managers reception” just as well given his behaviour !

Walls are VERY thin! An afternoon nap / sleeping in was impossible because all will hear is chairs being dragged. Apparently this has to happen while housekeeping is cleaning rooms. I have never experienced this at any other hotel and was for the biggest downfall that I couldn’t get some extra rest in on my vacation. For those planning to be out of the room for most of the day this doesn’t present a problem. Breakfast option was honestly fantastic. Bathrooms were a bit outdated but aside from that Everything was clean. Food at pool is mediocre.

LO BUENO: la habitación era amplia, linda y con un balcón muy bueno. La cama súper cómoda.
El desayuno es buenísimo. Hay huevos, palta, variedad de quesos, frutas, panes, cereales y semillas. Todo de buena calidad y rico.
El staff del desayuno es súper amable y atento. Si falta algo, te lo traen, están todo el tiempo viendo que hayan mesas disponibles y te ayudan a ubicarte, ya que por momentos hay muchísima gente en el restaurante.

LO MALO: al ser un hotel que se jacta de ser 4 estrellas, esperaba que te den un agua de cortesía en la habitación. Los cestos de la habitación son de plástico, medio raro para un hotel 4 estrellas.
El staff de recepción que está durante el día, a excepción de Gisela, es bastante antipática, atienden con muy pocas ganas, no te saludan ni cuando entras ni cuando salís. Los de la noche son mucho más cordiales.
No hay sombrillas en la piscina.
El baño necesita una actualización.
Tenes que pagar 20 euros de garantía por cada toalla de piscina. Medio ridículo.

Wonderful three night stay at this hotel! Friendly welcome at reception and we were shown around the main areas of the hotel. Breakfast was great, good selection of fresh and cooked food. It was a little walk down the hill to the main part of town where we found lots of nice restaurants & bars. We wouldn’t hesitate to return!

We had an excellent stay while on vacation in Carvoeiro. The location is perfect for walking to everything in town. The hotel is newly renovated in tasteful neutrals. Our room was comfortable with a lovely queen size bed and a/c and the beautiful pool was part of our daily routine. Outdoor seating area on the patio near the bar was perfect for evenings chatting with family and playing cards. Breakfast buffet was great, with many options. All the staff were welcoming and nice. Highly recommended!

We really liked the breakfast buffet and the spa/pool facilities. Parking was very handy as there are few hotels in the area that offer free parking. The rooms themselves and bathrooms slightly dated but still very comfortable. We had expensive road bikes with us and although they allowed us to keep them in the suitcase storage room, we didnt feel very safe storing them there as the room was left open all day and we were denied the option of storing them on the very spacious balcony. Understandable but something to keep in mind if you are bringing bikes with you.

Great breakfast buffet options, more than you can imagine, the hotel was very beautiful and the pool area was spacious, clean and the bar and did options were good. Lovely outdoor pool and very clean inside . My room was very clean and comfortable pillows .Thehotel is on hill but very short walk down to the beach and places to eat. Pleasant nice staff ☺️

I didn't want to mention but indoor pool had cockroaches ..crawling on walls of the pool but only because it's natural from the garden I think. Outdoor pool has nice snack bar and cocktail and drinks .

My room was nice but the walls are thin and can hear toilet flushing people moving furniture.
I would recommend the hotel because it's very nice with good outdoor poor and good location near to everything ☺️👍👍👍

We definitely had a wonderful stay at Mirachoro! The location was convenient as it is surrounded by restaurants and it is few blocks away from the beach. We also want to send our appreciation to the staff as their service was excellent. The moment we stepped in until the day we checked out, everyone was really helpful and friendly. The hotel has been well used and is in need of some updating e.g. bathroom needs a proper exhaust and the sliding door lock on the balcony was broken. Unusual that the room safe required a deposit to use (€20 cash) and even pool towels would not be provided without another cash deposit. Even the a/c remote was only available ‘on request’ (probably with another deposit). Staff were friendly and efficient and the hotel is located in the quieter part of town which is good. Pool area could use some shade and the water in the pool was very cold.

Stayed here with my mum. Staff are fabulous, so warm and friendly. Very central location.
Hotel itself is good, pool is lovely, bar, central areas, but the rooms are dated and small, could do with modernising the decor to make brighter, and the bathrooms to have walk in shower and remove bidet!
Otherwise it was very good.

The staff is ok but doesn’t go out of their way to help with anything - didn’t guide me to my room, help with my bags, offer me refreshments or any of the perks expected in a 4 star hotel.

Much of the property and hotel have been remodeled. Although clean, the rooms have been ignored since the mid 70' probably. They need updating. I've never encountered a hairdryer fixed to the wall with 2 feet of fat corrogated tubing. We asked cleaning staff for extra towels on our second day, which we received. We needed an additional one later in the day. When I asked the same cleaning for one, they began arguing with each other and then told me \" go to your room\". Our towels were wet and used. Out of spite apparently, they neglected to clean our room the next day and told management we had a do not disturb sign on our door all day, which wasnt true. We used wet towels again the text day. Management argued with us when we mentioned this towel situation. They were not friendly at this hotel. They treated us disrespectfully. Over a towel??

A short stay so that we could hike the Seven Hanging Valleys' Trail. Perfect location. Lovely small sea side town with very good restaurants. Hotel is very nice, especially if you want to spend a day by the pool which was not on our agenda. Breakfast was excellent with fresh fruit, a wide variety of foods all very fresh.

Very disappointing stay

Massive bait and switch situation here. There’s not a single picture they posted that doesn’t have an ocean view from a room with a balcony. So we booked a balcony room thinking it would be an ocean view. Wrong. View of a concrete wall with a few palm trees. The room was also incredibly small, unlike the pictures. I’m a petite person and could barely get in the bathroom because the door doesn’t open all the way, it hit the bidet. Very dated furniture. I might have been able to forgive all this for a comfortable bed, but it was hard as a rock and therefore the last straw to a very disappointing stay. The breakfast was ok, although it was obvious most of the fruit came from cans. Not great customer service overall, staff was talking amongst themselves during check in, didn’t tell us the time for breakfast or any other pertinent information about amenities. Didn’t offer to help us with luggage even though we had a baby. It’s a good location but not worth all the negatives we experienced. Would not stay here again.

The reception, bar and restaurant staff were excellent. Helpful and friendly. The hotel room looks tired and is in need of updating.
Pool area is excellent with good bar service and facilities. Nothing in the mini bar, no free water as experienced in other hotels in the region. Mini safe was inoperable with the lock removed and the room cleaning consisted of making the bed, with no replenishment of soap, no clean towels or removing used glasses.

The bed mattress was awful, it was a Queen size, but it felt like it was broken from the half. I had to put effort to stay on the bed. The bathtub was small. The shower curtain was not positioned correctly it was almost in the middle of the shower. There was no way I could shower without touching the curtain which was VERY unpleasant! Another thing I am not pleased with, was that you had to pay a daily fee to use the safe that is located in your room. Good thing I didn’t bring my iPad because that would not have fit in the safe.

This hotel is very tired. The 2x jacuzzis are both broken as is the sauna. Needs a bit of TLC.

Wasn’t what I expected. Outdated. Wifi didn’t work. Had to mention it to staff multiple times before they offered to change my room. Needed it to work while I was away so very inconvenient for a basic amenity to be malfunctioning. Glad they changed my room. Staff was nice for the most part. Great location.

The hotel only provided bed and breakfast as that was what I was looking for as the area has plenty restaurants.

The hotel was nice especially the lobby & poll area. There was even a swim up bar. The room was a bit dated but spacious. Bed was comfortable and nice balcony. Best part of the hotel is the staff. Great service and very friendly. Thank you for being so nice.

We had a lovely stay at the hotel. There was a problem with the aircon when we checked in but we were soon offered another room. The staff were super nice and we got some amazing restaurant recommendation. Delicious breakfast and great pool to spend some time in after the day on the beach

Lovely location
Clean hotel but needs modernisation, especially in bathroom and corridors
2 days without hot water, whilst this was fixed we had no apology or updates

This is not a 4 star hotel. The room was old and unimpressive. The bed was made with what looked like old sheets. While checking in, the staff was unfriendly and quite rude to us. Would not recommend

Resort for kids and older people

I think this place is best for families and older people. Even though I am a “ older people “ it just wasn’t quite right for me. They have an indoor pool it’s warm and outdoor pool it’s cold. Wi-Fi is not very good but of course you need to realize is a giant cement building that was built before anybody thought about Wi-Fi. It’s an older place and they are taking good care of it.

Overall, we really enjoyed it and would go back.
Hotel staff were really first rate.
Wifi was a pain. Inconsistent strength and shuts off too quickly.
Unfortunately, we speak only English and French so non-news shows in these languages were very limited.
A suggestion would be to rotate the breakfast buffet menu.
