The apartment was very clean and the reception staff was courteous.

The apartment itself lacked even the basic condiments so make sure you bring your own Coffee for the coffee machine (Filter coffee), and your own salt and pepper, napkins/tissue papers (its a shame). Also note that all rooms are at different levels (about 8 steps to each area) so not ideal if you have mobility issues or have small children (wouldn't recommend this place for families with children). Mattress quality can be improved. One afternoon there was no water in the apartment due to some broken water line which was quite inconvenient. No grocery store nearby (walking distance). Sharing all this so you can plan ahead.

The villa was spacious, well-equipped with all amenities, and conveniently located just a short walk from the beach. The reception staff were very helpful and provided useful information for first-time visitors to the area. The property features a lovely pool, sauna, and restaurant, with beautiful ocean views from the patio and terrace. It is also situated right along the famous Seven Hanging Valleys Trail.

The only issue during our stay was an unexpected water shut-off on both days. We would have appreciated prior notice so we could prepare accordingly. Overall, our stay was very enjoyable and relaxing.

Old property. The kitchen door handle was broken. The bathroom tap kept dripping, no soap in kitchen. Frayed old towels. Baed room AC started dripping water on day 2 and had to shut it off.
Lady at the reception unhelpful and made comments about too many tourists.
Overall, not recommended.

This place was wonderful! It’s a little piece of paradise in the Algarve. The units are large and very beautiful. The staff is amazing and goes out of their way to make your stay as great as possible. I will be back! Amazing!

The washing machine was half filled with dirty water that smelled horrible. The entire room and hallway smelled. We got over this issue and the inability to wash our clothes midway through our trip but then the roaches started running around our room and we were done. The front desk did move use to a new unit at 1130pm for which we were thankful.

Wonderful tiny apartment. Very quiet area , super clean and kind staff. Parking right outside our door for the rental made coming and going a breeze. Oh!! And… there are 2 balconies!! Beds are extra firm but we loved it and rooms are decorated nicely and appear on the newer side. We loved our stay here, conveniently located close to a beach town (5 min away), Benagil caves ( 10 minute drive)). Well worth it! We will be back!

I liked using this hotel as my base for many activities. I could walk to the beginning of the Seven Hanging Valleys Trail in about ten minutes by heading east. The views are spectacular. I could walk ten minutes west to get to an excellent place for breakfast or lunch \"Earth Shop and Cafe.\" We had a car so we could also do outings, for example, Praia Nova (for the beach and the lovely chapel on the cliffs), and Silves for the castle and the storks by the river as you enter the town.

Check in was very quick. We asked fro a ground floor unit and they changed it for us. Once in the unit, it was fine but there were no blinds on front kitchen window and the bathroom was extremely small. The stove was hard to operate and we never figured out the wash machine. The entire property was clean but dated and the hotel next door was under a complete reno. Staff at the property were very courteous but very limited English.

Nice lodging units. We got upgraded to a 2 bedroom unit. The exteriors looks amazing. The interiors are awesome. The kitchen had everything you need, including a dishwasher and a washing machine. The pool looked amazing. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Many people were in resort for long stay and repeated customers. They had their own restaurant but were not far away from downtown full of restaurants and shopping.

Basic hotel accommodation but well located. Our room required some maintenance during our 4 day stay. Took two requests to have these items corrected. Beds were hard. Wifi worked well. This was our second time staying at this facility but we won’t stay again. Not well managed in my opinion.

Had a lovely stay in a superior two bed townhouse with sea view. Apartment was spacious, clean (cleaned every day) and comfortable and had everything you need including air con, fly screens across the windows / patio doors, dishwasher, freezer and lovely powerful hot showers. Both the downstairs patio and the roof terrace had tables and chairs and sunbeds - the rooftop terrace being private and out of sight of neighbours. The hotel is well situated for a short easy walk into town. Unusually for us we ate three nights in the hotel restaurant as it was so good - fantastic quality food plus such friendly service and nice ambience. The hotel grounds are well kept with lots of attractive plants and trees and there’s plenty of parking. My only improvement suggestion would be more comfortable patio chairs!

On site restaurant and pool side bar had excellent food for dinner. Service and staff were outstanding!!!!! Location is tucked away and quiet despite “family friendly” so we enjoyed quiet sunrises and sunsets on the patio overlooking the sea. Apartment was roomy enough (2 bedrooms) and a family could have had a person stay on the couch in the loft as well. Rooftop terrace was private and had a great view. Our Al fresco meal out there with local cheese and meats we bought at market was one of our favorite evenings.

We had a nice stay, it’s a comfortable apartment, it’s quiet, ours was on the 2nd floor. The pool and restaurant are good. There is about 10 minute walk to a beach. A closer walk to a walkway across the clifftop, that meets up with a boardwalk, that will take you into town. The town, Carvoeiro, is cute, with shops, restaurants and a beach.
We did have a few issues. Check in is after4pm, we couldn’t check in until 5pm. They told us we could checkout an hour late (at noon), but the cleaning people arrived before 11:30. There was only one bath towel, no dish soap. The bedside lights didn’t work at first, but we found they were plugged into the wrong outlet for the wall switch to work. The TV in the living room didn’t have audio, so they brought us a desktop TV.

We checked out a day early.

Our rooms had smoke alarms flashing above each bed. Curtains and even the towels provided were dirty.

It’s overall a bit dated and wasn’t helped by the “entertainment” playing music until 11.

The place needs a bit of a refresh.

The breakfast was nice and staff around the restaurant were attentive.

Had a wonderful holiday in Portugal. Pestana Palm Gardens was a great base. Staff were friendly and helpful especially the bar staff.
We paid for a premium sea view townhouse and were a little disappointed with how tired and basic it was compared to the photos on website. Having said thar it was.spacious with lovely terraces and air conditioning which was definitely needed.
The swimming pool and sunbeds got extremely busy every day so need to get there early!!
Bar snacks for lunch were ideal, tasty and reasonable price.
Carvoeiro was about 30mins walk downhill and we sometimes got a taxi back up for 5 - 6 euros.

This place was nice but there are things that this hotel needs to work on. First, the check in time is at 4 pm. This is a very late time and they do not provide an area to leave our luggages as we wait. Second, we booked a villa for 5 adults, but there was only space for 4 adults. There was a sofa bed, but the quality of the bed was so terrible that one of the adults was not able to sleep on it. Third, the hot water would run out quickly. For a villa with 5 adults, it was disappointing that the last few had to shower in cold water. Fourth, there is no housekeeping service on Sundays. Lastly, there is no room service. So if you had to get bottled water, you would have to go all the way to the restaurant to order one and take it back to your villa.

Great place to stay.
Although we stayed for one night, rooms would be very convenient for long stays as they are small apartments with basic kitchen.
A free water bottle in room was appreciated.. 🙂
Restaurant on-site is open every day, breakfast although wasn’t included in room rate, was inexpensive as buffet for 9.5€
Spacious Pool area and bar very convenient.
Near town makes it convenient for shopping.
We really liked this complex and would come back.
Only down, was WIFI didn’t work.. but wasn’t an issue as we only stayed for one night.

On first arrival in apartment very dark felt damp and cold. It felt that it hadn’t been used for a while. Sun did not get around to our side of the building. After heating the place up for a day or so it was much improved. Would not book again unless we were able to book a premium apartment ( cost!)

O hotel é bem localizado e o staff é muito atencioso. O quarto é bem equipado de utensílios e o café da manhã foi ok. Um café caseiro seria bem melhor que uma máquina de café. Problemas: O ralo do chuveiro estava entupido, então acumulava muita água durante o banho. A água da piscina não atinge um temperatura agradável para nadar, mesmo no calor. Entendo que é difícil conter os insetos, mas apareceu uma barata no nosso banheiro também. A propriedade é velha e a manutenção deve ser muito trabalhosa.

The property is traditionally Portuguese with beautiful grounds and easy walking access in to Carvoeiro. The villas are very quiet and the resort overall is highly recommended. The pool doesn’t get too busy and at night you can hear a pin drop. Lovely family and couples resort.

Pestana is located in ideal place,top of the town and next to own beach, so its quiet on one hand but accessible on the other, excellent sea views, the accommodation was very specious, the amenities very good, staff helpful and friendly,we really had a great stay at this place...the villas were well laid out i recommend highly and without hesitation.... if we were back to Carvoeiro we would for sure want to stay there again..
The hotel grounds were spread out so the feeling of space was very apparent.. pool area very well done with good restaurant etc..
Superb place to have a holiday... prob need a car if you want to explore wider areas... its on top a hill so walk back from town is Uphill most of the way.... never the less... really happy we chose to stay there *we had a car..so was perfect .

Everything was very nice. We rented a two bedroom suite overlooking the ocean. Three balconies and a nice grassy terrace. Staff were friendly and helpful.I think charging extra for the use of the safe in your room is a bit much though. After all, it's not like using it is costing them anything. Also it's the only hotel I have rented in my 62 years that did not have a box of Kleenex; I thought that was a little strange. The only other negative thing is that they should install toilets that you don't have to flush 3 or 4 times. This is not unusual for Europe, but it can't be that hard to do.

Best things: the location for us was great - direct access to the cliff path for a pleasant walk into Carvoeiro (approx 20 min stroll) in the evenings, really pretty grounds with plenty of outside space in the superior villas (not so much for the standard ones), a lovely clean pool area which was (just about) warm enough for a dip in April, spacious accommodation and comfy beds.
The not so good: pre arrival cleaning could have been better, the neighbours air con unit was on the balcony right next to our bedroom and was often quite noisy at night, and we had to pay for a locksmith to let us back in one night as the key arrangements make it very easy for you to accidentally lock the key on the wrong side of the door (our fault, but a very easy and costly mistake to make - we’re not the first ones to have experienced this here so seems like it is something the hotel should address - thumb locks on the doors would be an easy upgrade)

Great Apartments and location

Lovely apartments in a quiet area. A short walk in Carveiro where there is a load of top class restaurants and bars.
Will visit again for sure.

Palm gardens stay

The unit was well situated and clean. The blankets were not enough but extra blankets were provided on request. The couch bed is not adequate for adults. We were 6 adults. 2 of the twin beds need new matrasses. Overall a good experience with very friendly and accommodating staff. Wonderful area to have a holiday in.

Lovely hotel in great location

Lovely hotel with great facilities. Staff very friendly and helpful. Walking distance to carvoeiro centre, about 15-20mins. Some fabulous restaurants en route.
Would definitely come back and recommend to others.
