My room was on the side of the building so it did get quite noisy with the main road and taxi rank outside. The Sky Bar upstairs was not open and I believe some of the bedrooms are closed for refurbishment. To be fair the hotel is located in a great spot close to many bars, restaurants and the beach.

Great stay at Hotel Carvoeiro. Room was large, clean, comfy bed, fridge etc. Had a street view room. A bit noisy on the saturday night but other nights fine.

Being able to walk out the hotel and onto the beach steps away was amazing. It is a busy noisy area but thats what you get for being so close to everything. All staff where very friendly and helpful. As others mentioned breakfast options where very good and a great value.

Overall a wonderful stay here and would definitely stay again. Absolutely recommend!

Great location - nice staff BUT bathroom is dangerous- if you are old, young kid, have a sore knee or back, a little blind - be careful as getting in and out of bath is difficult.
Also very loud n noisy from street, normally quite from 11.30pm.

Our stay was generally OK. The room was spotless, beds very comfortable, and amenities great. However, we were disappointed to be given a ground-floor room, which wasn’t indicated at booking. When we asked to move to the first floor, we were told we’d have to pay the difference. We found this odd – we’ve never had that happen at any other hotel. The rooms didn’t seem that different in value, so we declined, but it left a strange impression. It also felt like booking through Hotels.com put us at a disadvantage. The ground floor was very noisy at night – double glazing helped, but more could be done. Parking is as bad as advertised, so plan ahead and park elsewhere. Overall, clean and comfortable – but that’s about it.

This hotel is in the perfect location, we were only going to stay for a day and ended up staying for 4 days. At first we were concerned cause the first room (007) they gave us was on the ground floor and right beside the sidewalk (very close) where you could see and hear everyone walking by. We requested to be moved with no issue and got the 1st floor facing the dining area - much better. The rooms are on the smaller side but nice and clean. The staff are amazing and were so accommodating each time we extended. We loved Carvoeiro and this hotel would be our number one pick if we ever come back.

Lovely stay and superb location. Amazing breakfast - the best I have seen with everything fro fresh fruit to the best fresh squeezed OJ I’ve ever had. Great coffee, and a wide assortment of options.
Room was comfortable and spacious. Rooftop bar had amazing views, and hotel was on the beach!

Wonderful spot. Great rooms. We had two single beds. Enough room to move about. Bathroom was very nice. Shower got water all over floor but most do nowadays, just be prepared for a soggy mat. Staff were great, very attentive. Loved that they were there 24 hours. It’s just steps away from the beach, walking trails, and great restaurants. We rented towels and an umbrella (broken but still worked), very convenient.

Generally this was an excellent hotel, with good service and facilities. The room was clean, comfortable and well-appointed. Our only serious criticism is that the pool, advertised as a feature of the hotel, was closed, although a notice stated that it was open in May. Work was being done, but nowhere near complete. No explanation or apology was forthcoming.

Perfect location within seconds from the sand. So many dining options around the hotel, even an ice cream shop in the lobby area! Only complaint was waiting a while for a receptionist when trying to check-out. But the rest of the stay staff/receptionist was available and helpful. Loved the air conditioning and remote with it for the hot climate here. Not too jazzed about the shower situation as our room had a glass “wall” that didn’t close the shower off so water got everywhere, water pressure and heated flooring was great though! Would definitely stay here again, I love Carvoeiro!

Excellent location in a charming village. The hotel is on the Main Street, steps from the beach. The tiles with various kings make an interesting history lesson of this property. Close to restaurants, shops, the beach, and the walk board. We had a room with a view, an added bonus. And the breakfast is also diverse and nutritious.

First off I will start with the hotel’s team. We stayed for 2 nights and then off to train to Porto. Our Uber scheduled to pick us up at 6:00 am cancelled as showing arriving. The overnight desk attendant was great trying to help us figure what to do. He called his manager who came and brought us to not one but 2 train stations as the first train was cancelled we made the connection at tunes in record time. He completely went above and beyond and we were truly grateful.
The accommodations were great as well and convenient to restaurants shopping and the caves tour. Will definitely go back

Unfortunately there were many many ants in our room and we complained twice and nothing happened. We finally talked to Imran the manager vs. night staff who actually encouraged to contact and ask for discount as we paid $500/night which is not inexpensive and we dealt with ants the whole time. Not cool....

Catia at the front desk was amazing!!! After finally flying in and having an mis hap on the train that detoured us an extra 5 1/2 hours … finally getting to the hotel she saved us with parking.

The hotel is in a perfect location close to shops and restaurants and steps from the beach.

There is night live music but from our room 119 we didn’t hear anything.

The utilities might be a little used but honestly for the price and location it is amazing. Id come back 10 times. So glad we stayed here instead of Lagos or Portimão which is way more of a city.

Since we had a car, I chose this property, in part, because I read it had parking. When we got there, we drove down the one way hill google will take you down to stop out front of the hotel to unload our luggage, at a tiny unloading zone. The front desk let us know that there was just one garage space left (with daily fee) or that we could drop bags in our room and then go look for free public parking. We wound up doing the latter, which worked fine for us, but for those that need to know, we finally found a spot up a very steep hill near about a 15 min walk from hotel in the Monte Dorado resort parking area that was a hike to get back up to when we left. The Plaza hotel was super convenient, being right outside of the beach, with two boat tour companies right next door (which was so great for our early morning departure time), shopping and restaurants. We enjoyed our tiny terrace overlooking the main strip and all the people below. The noise from the street was audible from our room until pretty late but once the bars closed, we slept soundly on our comfy twin beds pushed together. The breakfast buffet was perfect for us. The pool provided a nice reprieve from the crowds of carvoeiro beach (it is packed like…sardines!). The staff were kind and let us borrow their wine bottle opener they had at the front desk for a moment to enjoy the wine we got at Garrafeira Soares next door. Rooftop bar prices high (you pay for the view). And the boardwalk is so close which was amazing.

The STAFF seemed like they didn't want to interact with us. At check in, we told the man at the front desk that we had a car. He said the parking lot was full and then stared at us without saying anything else. After a strangely long pause, we asked, \"What now?\" He gave us tentative information about on street parking, but didn't appear very confident in which areas were free nor for how long. He nor anyone else assisted us with our bags, even though there are about five steps to get into reception and an additional five off the elevator to our room, we are both women, and one of us was visibly pregnant. The same front desk staff at checked in, told my friend she would need to wait until the next morning to ask any more questions. Each time we interacted with front desk staff, they seemed either unsure of what they were doing or uninterested in helping us. The ROOM we received was NOT as pictured. We assume they've nicely fixed up one type of room to fix up for pictures and the rest are not nearly as nice. This was particularly the case with the bathroom, which had a tub/shower in which you had to hold on to the sink to get over the tall tub and through relatively small opening to get in/out. POOL hours are 10am - 6pm. However, when we arrived at 10:15, staff was dumping chemicals in and said that we couldn't get in for another hour. There is no lifeguard to duty, so we were confused by the limited hours. The LOCATION is absolutely perfect. Bottom line: Not worth the money.

The Plaza is uniquely situated in the centre of Carvoerio virtually on the be beach. The Sky bar is simply stunning at night, with very attentive staff. We had a beach view room with a balcony that was soaked in sunshine from mid day til evening. Complimented with private parking it offers the perfect location for a wonderful holiday in the beautiful village of Carvoerio.

Such a convenient location with wonderful staff! They provide tea, kettle, mini fridge, and complimentary breakfast which is a great bonus. The hotel pool is not crowded and clean. It's walkable to the beach. Only comment to keep it from a perfect review is that a couple of the pillowcases and bedsheet had stains. They were nice enough to hold on to our baggage after checkout so we didn't have to lug around our baggage while we did couple activities. Overall would recommend!

At first the parking wasn’t great because we had to park off site due to the hotels lot being full (I personally just don’t like parking further away with a rental) but on our second last day we got a parking spot in the lot. Rooms were great and clean! Staff was lovely and the location was amazing! We only drove 1 time while we were there and that was to go to Lagos for the day. Highly recommend!

We asked for a quiet room but were allocated a room with doors that opened out onto the swimming pool area. Loungers were a few feet from our door and it was noisy well into the evening. We had absolutely no privacy - we could not even open the doors during the day to allow fresh air into the room and we had no outside space of our own. We were not able to change our room because the hotel was full, so checked out after just one night. The only good point about our experience at this hotel was the breakfast, which was excellent!

A good hotel for a one night stay.

We enjoyed a one night stay at the hotel before moving to an apartment for a week. For us the hotel was fine but we wouldn’t have wanted to stay longer than one night. Room clean and staff friendly but the noise outside went on until at least midnight and was unbearable. Breakfast was adequate however I don’t think we would return due to the noise levels.

The location is fabulous, the staff friendly and helpful and Carvoeiro itself is a delight. The hotel has recently been taken over and refurbished but has not lost any of its traditional feel. The pool bar was not open in July which we found strange as it was under the old regime even in October.
