We had a brief (2 nights) stay at Rocha Brava. The property was in need of an update but was clean, comfortable and well-equipped. Staff were helpful and efficient. The garden areas were well kept and the pools looked inviting but were unheated so as we our stay was in early March we did not make use of them.Useful free return shuttle service which ran three times per day from the site to the local village & beach.

I went for Xmas, unfortunately I became ill so had to come home after only staying 2 nights out of a 7 night break. I messaged the front desk by messenger, email, WhatsApp asking for help to try and arrange a transfer from the hotel to the airport. No help, not one reply. Then when I arrived home and Expedia asked for a refund for the 5 nights I didn’t stay they were not prepared to offer me anything back. Very disappointed after staying in a 5 bed villa back in September

Our recent stay at Rocha Bravo resort was a highlight of our trip from Canada. The suite was amazing, with a wonderful view of the sea. Unlike our disappointing, shabby and generic room at a resort in Lagos, Rocha Bravo was nicely appointed, honey and large.
We also enjoyed the pool areas, the landscaped grounds and quietness.

We loved the location and access to the trails. The resort is peaceful and the resort grounds are beautiful. The staff was helpful. We enjoyed having a full kitchen and bbq -also the cafe and grocery on the property. We had parking at our apt unit. It was an easy walk to town, or via resort shuttle.

Just LOVED it!!! We will go back there. The apartment was large and well furnished, we were on the ground floor with a large patio and lounge chairs and small table to eat outside, just steps away from the heated pool. In the front of our apartment was a pond with a small water fall so it was really relaxing, sometimes we could hear the frogs in the evening. There were many restaurants to choose from (in the complexe), really good food and drinks. A coffee shop with live music 3 times a week. 4 pools, tennis, mini golf, 2x markets, free shuttle bus. Beds were comfy, full kitchen, large living room. The resort was really clean, the landscape was immaculate. The walk by the cliff is accesible by the resort, we had a 2.5 hour cliff walk one morning, just beautiful. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about Rocha Brava.

We stayed 5 nights at this amazing resort with swimming pools, tennis courts (surcharge), good restaurants on this property and around. The villa was very clean and equipped with all necessities you would need during your stay. The resort has own beach, or they provide free shuttle to Carvoeiro.

The Villa (261) where myself and my husband stayed lacked cleaniness. The window blind in the kitchen fell down and although we reported it to the front desk and somene did come to look at it, it still wasn't put back up when we left. The path leading into the villa was connected to the main street with an old piece of board that was totally unsafe to walk on. An accident waiting to happen! Disapointed

Loved the little apartment that we stayed in, it was clean and well furnished. There was a washer but no dryer unfortunately. The worst part was the beds. They were horribly hard and uncomfortable. we tried stacking blankets to pad them but it didn’t help. I’m less than 30 years old and my hips and back ached after sleeping on them for 2 nights. Otherwise, everything was good, they came to give us fresh towels on day two- we ate breakfast there both days. Overall we were satisfied.

we were only there for a short stay but it the property was very convenient, supermarket and cafe/bar and restaurants on site. There were multiple pools and activities on property and easy access to the cliff walk. The staff were accommodating an kept the kitchen open for us when we arrived late. The apartment had a full kitchen, balcony, and laundry but was a little dated. You do have to pay for and put a deposit down for pool towels, so I would recommend bringing your own. Regardless I would stay here again

Overall stay was good, peaceful resort, good conditions in the resort installations and well kept. However our particular villa was a bit disappointing. The balcony door did not lock (literally anyone could enter at any time and this was worrysome), a couple lights around the house did not work, showerhead was lose and would slip down in one of the showers, the bathrooms were quite old, leg in one of the table chairs was broken so couldnt be used, sofa was starting to fall apart, the beachbeds in the garden were so old and moldy they were too disgusting and dirty to use.

Very cute apartment. Staff was very friendly. The resort was nice overall. Our only complaints would be that the kitchen appliances didn't work and there was a mystery puddle of water in the bathroom at all times. The door also stuck in the door jam and took several attempts to get in until we figured out how to do it.

I loved my stay, it’s was very clean and the grounds are beautiful. My son (6) and husband thought the villa looked old inside. I thought it was charming but they prefer modern. 3 pools are nice, clean my only comment is that they were too deep. My son couldn’t touch anywhere only at the waddling pool which was too shallow for his enjoyment. The gardens are spectacular and we enjoyed the location since we drove to beaches around.

O Rocha Brava é uma especie de condomínio de veraneio, onde, creio eu, proprietários particulares alugam suas vilas. A nossa em questão estava ok. É antiga, mas tudo certo. Enxoval simples, porém ok tb. A limpeza, no nosso caso, foi uma vez na nossa estada de 4 dias. Suficiente.
Trocam as toalhas de banho a cada dois dias e alugam toalhas de praia por €1,50/dia.
Nos surpreendeu positivamente. Piscinas excelentes, quadras de tênis sensacionais. Há um pequeno Kids club, aluguel de bicicletas, restaurante muito bom, cafeteria e mercadinho. Jardins super bem cuidados.

Voltando da Espanha para Portugal, já havia ouvido sobre o Rocha Brava que é muito bonito, porem o apartamento que me deram era muito escuro, nada confortável cama ruim, muita coisa entulhada, ou seja de pessoa que coloca o apartamento no pool e não liga para a qualidade do cliente. This resort consists of self catering apartments and vilas in a beautiful setting with views of the sea. The gardens are immaculately maintained and there are three outdoor swimming pools. The staff are friendly and helpful especially those who work on the reception who are super efficient and welcoming. There are a few restaurants just outside the resort and the three we ate in were very good quality, very good value and extremely welcoming. There is a shuttle bus into the village of Carvoeiro itself three times a day. Like any big resort there are some small issues. There was a problem with the WiFi which was not resolved, there seemed to be a shortage of bath mats at one point and there needs to be more assistance provided to help guests checking out to take cases to the reception. It is a large resort so some of the accommodation is a long way from the reception and down very steep stairs. There is also no way of contacting the reception from the villas or apartments so any problems have to be reported in person and we would not recommend the onsite restaurant which was overpriced and not very efficient. But overall this is a lovely resort with lovely staff and we would definitely stay there again.

Just as good as we remembered it from over 35 years ago. This was really a trip down memory lane, our first time back in Algarve since 1980s. It's inevitable that things change, sometimes not for the best; although the incredible changes to the Algarve in general have diminished it's old world charm., Rocha Brava does not disappoint, if anything it's as good as we ever remembered and in most respects even better. We won't wait another 35 years, we will be back again soon. Thank you Rocha Brava.
