Park Hyatt is the place to stay in Sydney if you want to have the most scenic views of the Opera House, waterfront, and downtown areas. The front desk staff were incredibly helpful and friendly every time we had questions or passed by. The breakfasts were divine! The only \"ding\" we have which is more our pet-peeves is that the room cleaning service is over the top. Every time we left the room and returned, something had been done. Usually we prefer to stave off all this extra \"service\", as we don't need new soaps or new towels every day. I had actually put everything out where I wanted it the day before leaving and one of the service staff came in and re-arranged all my things. I would prefer my things not be re-ordered or moved. It was very frustrating since I had gotten organized and came back to all in disorder. The service is exceptional but perhaps a little too much so. For those who want it, perhaps there is a way to present a sign for \"Make-up my room\" or \"Do not make-up my room.\" Otherwise, this is fine-tuning what is a lovely hotel/option at the Sydney waterfront.

Park Hyatt Sydney used to be my favourite hotel in the whole wide world it offers a view that is quite simply priceless so when it came to choosing somewhere to spend my 50th Birthday this is the first place I thought of.
In fact I actually MOVED from other 5 star establishment (whom I might say couldn't do enough for me) to be at the Hyatt.
I arrived a little early and was informed my room wasn't ready which is fair enough but I would receive a text to let me know when it was available. That text never arrived and I had to chase the front desk for an update.
Room was nice enough, it was always going to be but this is what you would expect as standard from the flagship brand of the Park Hyatt.
However the staff (excluding the SPA team who were just lovely) just didn't seem that bothered and as a solo traveller it was apparent they were more interested in larger groups or perhaps those individuals they thought would spend more.
Front reception even offered to arrange champagne to my room which never ever appeared. So all in all a very lack lustre experience.
I genuinely wish I had stayed at the other property in truth, if it wasn't for the fabulous view (rain or no rain) I would suggest there are better more accommodating attentive hotels out there which are worth your consideration.

Our only problem was we arrived at hotel at 7:00 am after traveling 24 hours. Couldn’t get in our room until 3:00 pm. We were exhausted so having to find something to do until we could relax and freshen up was hard.

The harbour and the view of the opera house are the stars here. The hotel is excellently located and because it is only 3 levels feels really intimate and comfortable. Everything is in its place and the room was excellent with a beautiful view of the opera house and surrounds with our own balcony to soak it up.

We booked in December 2023 for two nights and the hotel policy is that one night is paid for as a deposit from a credit card.
When we checked in it was noted that we no longer used the card we paid the deposit with. As we no longer had this card the hotel insisted we pay the full amount again and then to arrange a refund on the old card by disputing the transaction. The reasoning being that if we didn’t pay the whole stay again we might dispute the first transaction leaving them short. I did not like the insinuation that we would do this and I’ve certainly not enjoyed the inconvenience of paying an additional $1,600 for an extra night I did not stay and then make numerous phone calls trying to arrange a refund through the old credit card company. I still don’t have this refund two weeks after my stay. In my view, this is really bad service in a day and age where card not present transactions are made across all businesses everyday.

Amazing property! Location is great for the views and proximity to the heart of Sydney. The staff were very helpful and attentive. Nothing was too complicated. Not all the rooms had the promised views - we had to go out to the balcony to see the Opera House, but that didn’t detract much. The rooftop pool is awesome, as is the breakfast room. Definitely a fun hotel to stay at in Sydney!

4th time and last . Tradies turned up outside our balcony at 8am working on the Astro turf, looking into room , we were both not attired for this and we shut blinds . Paid for opera view looked at blinds . Complained to reception and they said basically to my shock bad luck . I said I was going to write an our review , Marilyn at reception said she didn’t mind . We booked 3 rooms that night for a business meeting and were at the property the week before . We will take our business elsewhere

I proposed to my fiancé during this stay. A very special time for us. I did not expect an upgrade but expected a good room in our category. Nothing could be done. Trying pre-arrange a surprise Spa visitor for my partner and then a small group celebration in the bar were not simple. A request for a vase for flowers took 2 reminders and over 3 hours to be addressed. Just another number in your booking system. It was the most impersonal experience - and for the price almost unforgivable. The property is delightful. The service - less than ordinary. The Cartier store and Quay restaurant went out of their way to create a special occasion for us.

This feels like a small Hotel and is nice because it is low rise and i think you feel more connected with the immediate surrounds. It is also located in an amazing spot on the harbour with many activites happening all around you.

the hotel is well appointed, but not to the standard to expect for the money. For example went to have a scotch- ordered a single malt on rocks - got a white rye and when asked why i was advised the malt in that brand was out of stock- so i chose a different brand - Mccullun 12year again advised that was out of stock but suggested a 25 year at $265 per shot. i would expect a reasonable range of scotch at fair prices

Brilliant stay and the staff is what made it amazing and as you would expect with a Hyatt the facilities did not disappoint either. We required a room change mid stay (no fault of the hotel) and it was swift and seamless from intial call to concierge to sending someone to assist in the room change.

I am aware covid is a issue in Sydney. However the communication from the hotel before the stay or even during was poor. There was no mention of the bar and restaurant being closed the whole time due to them being understaff. It was 6pm on the second day when we received a letter to our door that explained they were understaffed and will not have their restaurant or bar open.
If we had known prior to our stay or even when checking in, we would have prepared ourselves and book lunches and dinners elsewhere before missing out.
The only offering was a simple in-room dining service. The pool upstairs also had a simplified menu and no one around most of the time to even make an order.

Excellent hotel in an exceptional location. The rooms are stunning. Having access to an open balcony in the room is really lovely, too.
I’m sure the hotel’s finding it’s groove again after the partial Covid lockdown, but the service was just a little off. Every time the we rang for assistance the phone would ring out, or we’d have to ring a different department to speak to someone. I’m sure the hotel’s finding it’s groove again after the partial Covid lockdown, but the service was just a little off. Every time the we rang for assistance the phone would ring out, or we’d have to ring a different department to speak to someone. We really enjoyed our stay. The staff at the reception desk were very friendly, efficient and helpful. we were able to check out 1 hour later than the normal time which was useful. The view of Sydney Opera House at breakfast from the hotel dining room was wonderful. Our room was spacious with a comfortable bed and view of the harbour. Also it had a bath and shower. The Park Hyatt is a lovely hotel

The Rocks is a beautiful part of Sydney. The old Heritage buildings and little lane ways lined with restaurants and cafes gave it extra character. We loved the Park Hyatt, everything about it. The beds and pillows were so comfortable.
