Hotel itself was very clean,nice, and updated. Washer and dryer, mini kitchen a plus. Great location. Helpful staff.Beware of early noise from construction and light rail. Also it’s a party area and people on the street could be heard into the wee hours even on the eighth floor. Unrivalled location, right by the light rail, Tram. We chose this accommodation due to it having a pool and ‘studios’ rather than regular rooms. The in room facilities were excellent but the whole room needed a real good deep clean. In our fifth week of a 7 week trip the staff were the most unpleasant and off hand we experienced. We were never made to feel welcome more of an inconvenience. Personally we feel it might suit guests as business travellers but certainly isn’t recommended for tourists.

Didn’t use pool but looked nice. Overall very good stay and would book again. Had no issues with noise as some others have stated but we were on level 20. Stayed on 19th Jan 2026.

The studio apartment was large and contained everything one’s needs for an extended stay. The breakfast is good and very convenient. The lobby is on the 21st floor and is overpowered in the evening by the bar upstairs which is very noisy and full of people. One stays at A by Adina because the location is excellent. One is near trains and trams. It isn’t a bad walk to the Quay, Botanical Gardens, museums, opera house, or the cruise terminal. The famous Chinese restaurant called Mr. Wongs is only a short walk away.

This was my second staycation here, and it was perfect again. The room was cozy and the bed very comfortable. Check in was easy and all the staff so helpful and friendly.
The swimming pool is beautiful, a little crowded on my first day, but there was a heatwave in Sydney that weekend. I was lucky enough to have it all to myself the next morning before breakfast. I had room service breakfast, and it was fantastic.

Clean spacious room. Bathroom was also big with shower and toilet combined. The only problem was it partition with just shower curtain and the drainage was insufficient so water overflows.
Hotel location is close to public transport and CBD area was within walking distance.
Unlike normal hotel that served buffet A by Adina served an ala carte breakfast which I liked. The view from the restaurant both at night and day were amazing as well.

The balcony was a complete waste as there was so much construction noise outside that you couldn't even go out there. Maybe once all the external construction is done, I might go back, but I suspect that's going to be a year or longer.

This hotel is a good example of technology gone nuts! Everything is dark and depressing and while the height of cleanliness and modernity, it would be good if the curtains didn't suddenly open and close and the lights come on without activation. I know it was Halloween, but I don't think it was haunted! The elevator system is perplexing to say the least and some staff members agreed. Speaking of staff there were some lovely young people and some who need to check their attitude and be more hospitable and less officious. Breakfast had a reasonable range but my pancakes were burnt around the edges. After staying at Hotel Indigo in Melbourne last weekend I woulld have to say that the Adina experience in Sydney was sadly disappointing

A By Adina is a great, chic hotel located on George Street between high-end shops and Circular Quay. We stayed in a two bedroom apartment which is actually a one bedroom apartment with an interconnecting second bedroom. There is noise from the construction of the Hunter Street metro station which starts at 7am.

I think it wasn't worth the price we paid and didn't include breakfast. Our room faced onto a noisy street and we couldn't get the room dark enough so was bothered by the street lights outside. It was nothing special.

Comfortable, quiet and so close to different public transport options. Very close to the mall, Chinatown, Capitol theatre and Circular Quay. All are walking or public transport away. Staff are friendly and helpful. I did do a bit of floor elevator hoping but its good after someone explains how it works.

Bed and cleanliness are good

The bed and pillows are the best. One of the softest and cleanest. Housekeeping is also good. Location is near Wynyard train station and 7 mins walk to Martin metro.

The service can be improved. reception st the ground floor is grumpy and cold though. I was there on Sunday13/7 and the lady literally just stared at the guest. No greetings no smile. The lobby at entrance is small and tight. Please note there’s a metro construction next to hotel ! The noise is really loud and my friends staying at level 8 could hear it but they are not able to change the room.

The check in process was slow and complicated by fact the property went to charge me again for my reservation despite having already paid. It took about 10 minutes to resolve which isn’t a long time in the scheme of things but after a full day of travel it’s not exactly what you want. The room was ok except for the dust that was everywhere - on the curtains, around the bed and on the walls. The curtains auto open when you enter the room which is a cool feature except for it sprinkling dust everywhere which exacerbated my partners asthma. One of the towels provided was dirty with makeup stains everywhere on it and the door to the bedroom was falling apart.
The amenities in the room are good as is the location / proximity to darling harbour etc however I would not stay here again.
I booked a non-refundable room but did reach out to Expedia following the experience, they were unable to get me a refund/ partial refund but were incredibly helpful.

Have been staying at the Adina-A several times over the past few years and highly rate it. The staff are wonderful, location perfect.

My only ongoing frustration is how to work out those challenging drapes/ automated blinds that keep opening and are very hard to close them to the desired spot - I lost several minutes each day battling the blinds!!!

If this could be sorted, I’d go back to giving 5 stars.
