Was not ready for check in at 2pm. We booked a two bedroom apartment with 2 single beds in one bedroom and a queen in the other. We got two queen beds and a stretcher in the living room.

Few shops nearby. Very hard to check-in. Left luggage in storage last day. No one at counter to return it to us. Missed Uber. Had to call manager to get baggage back. Would not stay here again.

The room we got on arrival hadn’t been cleaned, sheets were dirty, a trundle bed set up in the living room with the bedding in the couch,
Empty used water bottles left in the kitchen.
We spoke to reception & they moved us to another room which was clean but the carpets felt dirty… the 2nd room had curtains falling apart
I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone

Clean well maintained apartment style room. Great location for trains, busses and light rail with an easy walk to ferries and opera house. Even the external building maintenance was not a great impediment to our stay.

My stay was a couple months ago now but what I remember is that pool was out of commission, I couldn't open my balcony door (locked for safety during external maintenance on the property) and having to go over the road for my \"included\" breakfast that I'd paid extra for.
The room was spacious & clean, at least. It was comfortable stay but what you're paying for in this establishment is the location - and frankly there's better close-by for the same money.

Booked a 3 Bedroom Penthouse, The room was dated and needed a good clean . The TV was useless and despite pointing this out on first day nothing was done to fix it . The building was undergoing a much needed face lift so all the doors to the balcony’s were locked … the only good thing I’d say was it’s in a very central location …. Would I stay here again …NO

Yes there is a notice that waa pointed out to me as I went down to have a chat with the front desk but if you are literally checking someone into a room which has Tradesmen on your balcony wirkimg, maybe let them know? We deliberately chose a room with a balcony only to discover on arrival that ongoing work precluded us from accessing it. This could have been made clear when we were booking it. The carpet was in sad shape but otherwise we were happy with the room.

Room was so spacious including nice balcony deck w/table and chairs and view of some of park as well as many other buildings. Very clean, included Washer & Dryer, Bedroom w/comfy bed, nice sofa & dining set as well as 2 TV's, full kitchen w/fridge, microwave, dishes, etc. Breakfast was at nearby hotel but had lots of food & beverage choices. Hotel also provided umbrellas which we needed often. Location is very central to many things. Didn't use any extra ammenities as was too busy out sightseeing for 6 days. Ubers picked and dropped off was across street. Restaurants close by especially downhill by Darling Harbor. Only issue is maybe windows could use cleaning.

Firstly I was told I would be informed when my room would be ready by message, apparently put on ‘priority’. Sat in foyer for some time and the room was ready. No message. Air con leaking badly but to be fair I was offered another room but I had unpacked. Week days was disturbed by workmen drilling and hammering in the next room.

Got off to a bad start- couldn't check in on time- no rooms available ??. But that was sort of acceptable. Due to repair work being carried out - the drilling and banging was noisy- would have been nice to have known before booking. No replacement coffee/sugar for 2nd day ? Use to stay here lot's years ago- but it has deteriorate in time. Furniture out dated - bathrooms needs dirty grout and no gap replaced. Just not worth the money anymore- shame because it is a good spot to stay. But the worst, was being locked in the car park unable to exit- until a got some nice guy to come and open the gate. All these things add up- wouldn't have happened in the past. Anyway- it's up to you. Ray

Great position. Close to the bridge, the Rocks, Circular Quay, Barangaroo and Wynyard station. Room was surprisingly large and fully self contained. Unfortunately there were building works so the pool, spa and sauna were not available. Queen bed uncomfortable and air conditioning kept making an intermittent funny noise. The sesk person lacked personality and could have been more cheerful. Having said all of this we still enjoyed our stay but would only go back if a king bed was available.

When we arrived we did have a minor cleaning issue, however the staff was very friendly and quickly went above and beyond to correct the issue with professionalism and ease. We were more than satisfied with our stay and will be recommending it to any of our friends who plan on traveling to the Sydney area.

Pool was been renovated and staff mentioned a nearby pool on phone but in person did not know how to give directions. My daughter got stuck in the lift and it would not open. There was nobody at reception every time we called ( on arrival; to open carpark access door & to ask questions).

Rooms were showing their age and very poorly maintained. Holes in the wall filled in but not painted. Furniture worse for wear. Carpet wrinkle & lifting (apparently about to be replaced). Mould all over bathroom ceiling.
Very dirty. Dusty and marks on the wall. Cleaners obviously doing the very basics. House keeping arrived after 3.30 in the afternoons after we were back from the day’s adventure. Just not good enough.
Both times we arrived for check in rooms were not ready until late. Are they understaffed to save money?
Overall very poorly maintained and run hotel.

The location is great but they are renovating the property. If you get a room that hasn't been renovated, especially one facing the street, it's extremely noisy.

Other issues: The internet cut out multiple times and the air conditioning shut off every day if you ran it more than 5-10 minutes. They kept saying it was fixed but it was a problem for each of the 5 days I was there.

Also much more minor, the breakfast isn't onsite. It's about a 5 minute walk down the road. Overall, not something I'd normally care about but given everything else..

I stay in a lot of hotels for work (10-12 trips a year) and this was one of the worst stays in a long time.

That said, the staff were friendly and i did move to a different room after the first night which was much quieter. If it wasn't for the internet and faulty AC the stay could have been much better.

Would have given 5 stars but was slightly let down by not knowing that the pool was going to be out of action during our stay. Under maintenance.

The description did not include the pool was closed ! The Manager was dismissive and blamed Expedia not giving the correct information, openly told us that he can’t help on price as the city was busy and we would not find another room so refused to discuss. We got to our room and immediately was hit with a wall of odour, the carpet smelled, the couches smelled of BO. The room was dirty, ratty. I found $4 1/2 drank bottle of water that I had to report to the front desk so as not to be charged. The street noise was insane, it was as if the windows were all wide open 24/7! The bathroom had mold on all the grout with every nook and cranny showing mold and dirt! I would recommend you stay away from this run down smelly hotel !

We stayed over in a studio apartment, booked at short notice.
It was very spacious and comfortable but a bit “tired” decor and facilities wise. It had a full kitchen and fridge, with separated washer & dryer.
Checkin was open until late and staff we interacted with were pleasant and helpful.
Great location at the north end of the city and an easy walk to The Rocks and the cbd.

This property was a JOKE!
We order a balcony room and the sliding door was nailed shut with a bolt, so you couldn’t open the door at all, sure this is a fire hazard!
There was a massive hole in the wall above the sliding door
Our room was surrounded in scaffolding
The pool was closed
They were under staffed and the manager was just sitting in the back room watching cameras
Out check in was delayed by an hour

Reception staff were not at the desk all four times I went through on the first night, luckily someone heard me call out as no international calling. No idea where the restaurant is or room service menu so I ate out. The pool, spa and sauna are all unable to be used as being updated, my balcony was also locked off so unable to be used. My bedroom TV wasn't plugged into the antenna and when discovering this and connecting it myself I found a previous guests sock and alot of dust. The only positive was the bed was comfy and housekeeping staff were lovely. I told reception at check out I didn't enjoy my stay, won't recommend or stay again and he said he would pass that on to the Manager - they clearly don't care as I checked out 2 weeks ago and no one reached out.

The staff were not not overly helpful, especially the lady at reception. Breakfast was away from the hotel and not accessible for a wheelchair (I broke my leg). They confirmed it was wheelchair friendly and should have notified us when they saw breakfast was included in our package. No help to resolve the issue!! Poor effort won't be back

Dirty room. Stinky room. Trash found in cupboard and never cleaned. Soap ran out but never refilled.
Already asked staff to handle but did not help even on the last day of our stay.

Staff unhelpful in general. Told the trainee staff our issue but she could not help, so had to seek advice from manager. But when manager comes, the trainee staff just stood there and expect us to explain everything again. She could have talked to manager about the situation, why expect the customers to deliver the message again. we asked if we could have some take away breakfast since we had to catch a coach for skydiving early in the morning at 0630.The hotel manager insisted that nothing can be done, it's outsourced so limited options. We kept persuading and he finally agreed to try calling the restaurant for a packed breakfast.
We expect him to help us without the need to persuade！why make our life so difficult ？

Room was dated and noisy. Balcony door was locked due to window cleaning which happens several months each year. Parking ($58pn) was very limited and designed for small cars. I had to seek assistance from Reception to access the carpark and then find a car space. Only positive was the staff member who accompanied me to the carpark and assisted with finding car space - thank you

The hotel has old furnishings. Currently it is supposed to take a year to repair the pool and we did not have access to our balcony because which would have been nice to eat outside. Our other family’s room was the kind of room and a little nicer. They could eat on their balcony. Kind of thought we should not be charged as much because we were not provided the same amenities. It was nice to have a kitchenette and washer and dryer in the room. It is a good location because it is right near a train station. I would probably stay here again because of convenience. Did not feel breakfast was worth $38.00 extra so we did not ask for that. Staff were kind.

The York by Swiss - Perfect Place to Stay!

Our room was located on the 13th floor, with a great view of the city. The room was cleaned daily, unless we asked for privacy. We did not eat the breakfast offered, but there was a refrigerator, microwave, and sink in the room. We were happy to eat things we bought from the store.

Very disappointed - no where near the 4 star claim

Room was tidy, but very dated. The bathroom looks more suited to a $50 a night motel in the country than what you would expect from the ads for this hotel.
Bed was terribly uncomfortable, with a massive dip on one side.
Construction machinery operated outside my window constantly.
The first time I knew the pool was unavailable was when I turned up and there was a note saying it’s out for a number of months - would have been great information prior and would have impacted my choice of hotel.

During booking we were told of renovations and the balcony may not be accessible during the day when work was being done outside. But, actually the balcony was not available at all. Room was huge with a very comfortable lounge. Comfortable bed but pillows were too soft for me. Lovely view to Luna Park. Great location close to transport and cafes. One of our kitchen cupboard doors was broken which was fixed. My wire drawer unit was broken and wasn’t fixed. Someone needs to check the room before it’s occupied.

We loved the conscience of this hotel and 95% of the staff were incredible! Only issue was with a car for a night that ended up only being for a few hours! Staff went out of way to help fix and take care of issues- we blew the fuse and the dryer stopped working all fixed very quickly.

I think we have stayed her before and will certainly do again.
Location is excellent just metres from Wynyard station and minutes from circular quay.
Plenty of eating opportunities close by including two just outside the front door..
Nice balcony as well.
Pleasant staff.
We didnt use the housekeeping service.
No breakfast but plenty of coffee places and convenience stores around.

We weren't informed that the renovations happening outside of our 2 windows. Being on the 9th floor they wete using cranes and lifts passing our windows. Yes we could close the curtains, but being informed would be nice. Lots of screeming from the street, which you have no control of. In general place was nice. Regarding cleaning i would recommend the cleaners to open every cabinet and draw. (Box of condoms let in one of the cabinets, and empty bottle in the rubbish bin)...
