As usual the room was great, check in was disappointing. It was suggested that the payment was not settled, where I had already paid Hotels.com. Not sure who was to blame for that, van der Valk or Hotels.com

Some good points: easy location, ample free parking, and large rooms with balconies. However this hotel clearly isn’t run to the same high standards as others in the chain. The decor has bumps, scrapes and marks everywhere, and it’s not acceptable to let black mould grow in the shower.

Disappointing stay on a business trip!
Disappointing stay. Dinner was average. Most staff were friendly apart from one member of staff who said his name was Mathias but that was a manager who was not even working that day which was the first lie and procedded to give another name. When asked to spilt the bill, he refused and said one table one billl. It was a business dinner. I habe travelled a lot for business and never had an issue to split a bill. Other members of staff were equally confused as to why he insisted on this method. Needless to say we will not meet for business at this hotel again. Renovations ongoing so lots of disruption. The only positive aapect is it is a dog friendly hotel and so nice to see so many dogs.

Overall, the hotel is old and in desperate need of refurbishment. No ventilation in the room of any kind and no ability to open a window (we were on the ground floor and the only opening window was the patio door, which obviously had to be locked shut at night for security reasons) - it was like sleeping in sealed box, probably breaking health and safety regulations. The supplied fan was falling apart and very noisy. The corridor to the room smelled dirty, damp and unhygienic. Most staff were nice but one woman in the restaurant was agressive, barging guests out of her way to get to the food counters at breakfast. Limited vegetarian options on the restaurant menu. No non-dairy milk supplied at breakfast - I had to ask for it.

Wifi did not work in room or common areas. I informed the staff that I needed wifi to work that evening and could they issue me a refund so I could find a room elesewhere. Front desk said it was “out of their hands” .

Arrived late, but within 15 mins of the restaurant closing.
The chef said that at this time he could only serve 2 dishes off the menu.
The chicken in the meal was pink and uncooked.

Lovely hotel, by a motorway for convenience when travelling. We had such a hard time finding the parking lot and entrance because the address sent the satnav to a forest behind the Hotel. Wasted an hour driving around getting onto the right motorway so we could access the Hotel secure parking. Night Receptionist was not helpful. Otherwise a super hotel, spacious rooms, comfortable & good breakfast.

Overnight stop off on part of Business trip. Always look to stay here. Great, clean, spacious rooms. Excellent restaurant and wonderful staff. Weakest point for me is their breakfast but that is being overly picky. I wouldn’t stay here unless you have transport.

Although this hotel is situated beside a motorway services, it is actually a very attractive modern hotel, comfortable, decent bathroom with bath as well as separate shower, nice bar and a really first-class restaurant with fine dinner available and excellent breakfast. Thoroughly recommended.

It seems to be a chain hotel, just next to a gas station off the freeway. It is close to freeway, but not noisy at all. There is an on-site restaurant. Breakfast buffet offers more selections than most of the other hotels we stayed.

Luxury at a motorway service station
I was there a week on business. I had booked a suite as there were no other rooms. What a luxury ! The size of two rooms, there was a sofa and giant bathroom with sauna, large bath and shower. TV was a bit small as it is the other end of the double room. There is an excellent medium priced restaurant on the site. The only slight problem is lack of parking. I returned from work at 9:30pm and the car park was almost full.

Uitstekend hotel voor zakelijke overnachting. Badkamer is in recente jaren mooi gerenoveerd, matras zakte bij mijn kamer beetje door. Geen geluidsoverlast van snelweg, ook niet met kamer aan die kant. Wel wat gehorigheid vanaf de gang. Ontbijt prima, wel erg aan de prijs. Daarvoor zou er wel een verse sinaasappelsap machine geplaatst mogen worden. Personeel vriendelijk, maar algehele staat van het hotel voelt wat gedateerd aan in vergelijking met andere Van der Valk hotels.

Had two rooms for our stay. One of the rooms had *no plugs* available for the two guests there. They went to the reception to enquire about it. The staff offered a single industrial extension cord, instead of offering another room. The staff rather proposed to pay an extra 25 euros to switch rooms, which is unacceptable. It is up to the hotel to provide plugs in a room.
Later, the staff said that all of the rooms were booked up, so it was not possible to change rooms anyway. Turns out, the lack of plugs were not the only issue. The room had no hot water. The guests went to the reception again (another staff member was now there), and surprise, they were now moved to another room (for free). So the other staff member just lied about the availability of the rooms, and refused to move the guests to another room when she could have done so. Unacceptable behavior.

De kamers hebben een hele oude interieur en de staat is niet top, ook heeft de kamer geen koelkast. De gangen en kamers ruiken niet heel fris. Badkamer is ook heel oud, en een kleine douche. Onze airco tikt en lekt water. Het hotel zit gelegen aan de snelweg, maar je merkt niks qua geluid van rijdende auto’s.

Da vi ankom sent torsdag aften fik vi anvist et værelse der allerde var optaget, vi fik dog ret hurtigt et nyt og så skulle man tro at alt var godt.
Men da vi ville ind på vores værelse igen sent fredag aften efter en lang arbejdsdag, virkede vores nøgle kort ikke.
Det viste sig så at vores værelse nu var udlejet til nogle andre og vores kufferter mm. var blevet samlet sammen i en bunke og nu stod i receptionen.
Det lykkedes igen at få et nyt værelse, men det er på ingen måde tilfredsstillende og særdeles uprofessionelt at skulle så meget igennem for 2 overnatninger.

Wir waren auf der Hunde Coiffeur Team Weltmeisterschaft und sind mit Hunden gereist. Das Hotel war für unsere Bedürfnisse perfekt. Gute Parkmöglichkeiten, Kurzer unkomplizierter Weg vom Auto zum Zimmer, schöner Umschwung um mit den Hunden spazieren zu gehen. Obwohl das Hotel auf einer Autobahnraststätte ist, hörten wir praktisch keinen Lärm von der Autobahn.

In de slaapkamer zaten 16 muggen waarvan ik er voor het slapen gaan 14 van heb doodgemept.
Gezien de dode muggen die al overal aan de muren en plafond hingen bij binnenkomst had degene voor mij ook al wat werk verricht.
Misschien een goeie tip om hier iets aan te doen.
In de slaapkamer zaten 16 muggen waarvan ik er voor het slapen gaan 14 van heb doodgemept.
Gezien de dode muggen die al overal aan de muren en plafond hingen bij binnenkomst had degene voor mij ook al wat werk verricht.
Misschien een goeie tip om hier iets aan te doen.

Wij moesten naar een beurs in Kortrijk en dan ligt dit hotel gewoon heel centraal. Je rijd het gemakkelijk aan.
Het restaurant vonden wij persoonlijk geen succes. Vooraf een broodje met boter maar daar was geen mes bij. Vervolgens de borden op tafel gekregen die voor iemand anders bedoeld waren. De borden werden zo weer naar de andere tafel gebracht. Toen kwam het eten wat voor ons bedoeld was. Mijn vlees zat vol met spier en vet, was niet te snijden en kreeg het niet weg. Vervolgens wel een ander menu gekregen. Maar was toch echt wel jammer. Verder zijn de kamers haast niet koel te krijgen. Ben dan ook benieuwd hoe warm het er in de zomer is. Ook de lucht die in de hal hangt moet vast een fijne ervaring zijn maar wij vonden het gewoon echt stinken. De lucht overheerst zo erg dat het op je longen slaat. Het ontbijt was wel echt super uitgebreid en verder was het een goed verblijf.

Als tip zou ik zeggen om de groene muren in een lichtere kleur te verven/behangen. Dit fleurt de kamer meteen op.
Niets slecht over het personeel te melden, maar ben een betere standaard van kamerbeleving gewoon bij Van der Valk hotels

Het is allemaal verouderd, je zakt helemaal weg in het matras, er is geen koelkast beschikbaar, slang van de douche was afgetaped (waarschijnlijk om lekkage op te lossen). Het was voldoende voor het doel, maar het mag wel een tandje hoger…dit ben ik niet gewend bij van der Valk! Het restaurant daarentegen was helemaal top, wel duur maar dat vind ik minder erg wanneer voor de rest alles in orde is. Ook de medewerkers waren super vriendelijk! Samengevat: accomodatie is heel erg aan vernieuwing toe, medewerkers top!
