Excellent, one of a kind room, proprietor was friendly and helpful, and breakfast was good. Two flights of stairs to haul luggage up was only negative. Easy walk to main tourist areas.

Lovely old house with nice individual rooms, our room was a little smaller than we would normally expect and the heating and lighting is a little quirky but altogether a very pleasant stay. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The parking is under cover (garage), very secure and close-by but the spaces are mostly suited to a small car (we had difficulty getting in and out when cars were parked either side). The location is excellent.

This is truly a b&b not a hotel. No coffee machine in room, had to run upstairs to next landing. Room was very poorly laid out, clumsy and inconvenient. Area was noisy at night.

Since it's a private residence, it is secure. We came early and the clean lady gave us a key and let us drop the backpacks. Still have not seen another person but i guess I am chocked in???

A lovely guesthouse near the centre of town which made getting around very easy. Coffee making facilities were available but no tea and being from the UK that's important to us! Other than that an excellant stay.

Overall a lovely place. We stayed 4 nights in a huge room overlooking the street. Location easily walkable to everywhere in the old town. Taxi from train station €10. We liked the fire and sofa/ chairs in the room. Not so keen on the shower being in the bedroom. Took a long time for hot water to come through but then ok, though obviously not private as you cower away from the cold water from the large shower head. Also toilet has a glass door and light and extractor fan that come on automatically. Not great for sleeping partner if the other uses loo during the night. Breakfast standard continental with fresh fruit salad. For a b&b there was a complete absence of owners other than to let us in on first night and take payment on last morning (a bit impersonal for a b&b, but she was lovely when we saw her on last day. Didn’t find out names so sorry for ‘she’) Would we stay again? Yes, but maybe in a different room.

This B&B was great. The rooms were spotless and well kept. The breakfast was great with lots of choices. The location was perfect. A very short walk to the center of town, but quiet for sleeping. We stayed 4 nights and couldn't have been happier. I will absolutely stay here again when I come back to ghent

Owner was very nice & helpful, breakfast delicious, great location to sites. Tip: from the train station take a cab, avoid the bus, cost differential is minimal. Room was large & bright & quiet at night for a peaceful night's rest. Be prepared for stairs, no lift. The common-room Nespresso coffee machine was a nice touch.

The price is appropriate, the location is excellent, and it is super practical. Most of the hotel is in really good condition, although the rooms are a bit quirky, they really go out of their way to make your stay as practical and pleasant as possible.

B&B intjis nice old buildings
Our room was on the 2nd floor facing the front of the house with 3 large windows
Old house with modern upkeep however bathroom was place she in the room with very small shower an de small sink with no space for toiletries
This was the major drawback making a shower a logistical challenge
Breakfast came in a sampler of fruit salad, only one egg cooked to our style and limited other offers but enough to keep some calories during the morning hours
Located 5 minutes from the main center of Gent, but noted a wonderful restaurant t next door to eat out Osborne the beaten track which o strongly recommend

We had a nice experience until we checked out and went on our way. We received a email the evening we left accusing us of spilling a substance on the room floors causing damage.
Not only did we not spill anything during our stay, we were barely in our room except to sleep. The owners charged our credit card over $3,000.00 to re-do the wood floors.
I emailed back and forth with the owners, receiving a photo of the “claimed” spill and damage.
We didn’t have a substance of that color with us to cause such a stain.
I had to contact my credit card company to dispute the charges.
I’m still in the middle of dealing with this.

I truly feel these owners tried to scam us. Saw two young American travelers and thought they could take advantage of us.
Little do they know, that my boyfriend lived in Belgium for 8 years and speaks the language fluently.

I would have given a great review as I thought the accommodations were quaint and charming. Unfortunately, the owners are dishonest so I wouldn’t recommend anyone to stay there.
I wish you luck if you choose this bed and breakfast for your stay.

Love this little jewel of a guesthouse

I loved, loved, love this hotel/bed and breakfast. Let's start first with the space: a lovely burgher house with soaring ceilings and carved wood details, all done up in an elegant, fresh, modern style. I walked in and felt I had walked into a 5 star hotel. But it's just for you and a few others.

Rooms have themes and mine was Japanese - a comfortable room with Japanese-inspired décor, a small balcony a comfortable sitting area. But watch out, the shower is in the room - so not for casual friends sharing rooms! I think this was the smallest of the rooms available, given the layout.

Breakfast - lovely and European. Really relaxed where they serve you fresh juice, coffee, eggs, homemade croissants, etc. Location is about 1 block from the super-cute downtown. Which means that \"only\" half the buildings in the area are super cute. An extremely convenient place, and a total steal at this price.

What else - there is self-managed AC in the room and everything is perfectly clean.

Couple of notes:
Please do pay attention to the check in hours! It is managed by family so they do need to leave at some point.
They have a strict no shoes inside the house rule - which means everything is extremely clean and well maintained, but you will need to walk in the common areas in your socks or slippers.

Dieter was really helpful and accommodating. Good location and great room. Only comment I'd make is that if a guest is going on top floor perhaps check they can make the climb as there is no lift. But fully recommend place.

The room was a bit quirky but generally in a nice way. The fireplace could be controlled by remote control which was very nice and warm in winter. The curtains opened and closed by remote control which was also nice. The room was very big. There was not much privacy with the shower being open plan but you could put a wooden screen in front of it. The weird thing is that they wanted me to take off my shoes when walking up the stairs. I wasn't sure if this was cause it was night time or meant to be everytime - I have not experienced that in a hotel before. The hosts were very friendly and helpful.

Guesthouse PPP and Ghent - a winning combination!

The house is spectacular, each room with its own character. Stayed in the junior suite to be able to make some meals which was welcomed after long days, and woke up to the smell of fresh croissants each morning. The owners are a delight. Ghent is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. The camera got used extensively, every corner is a sight!

Style and comfort in a charming home from home

Fantastic house, with a wonderful host. Charming room decorated with quirky and elegant style. Very comfortable even in very cold weather. A lovely time had in Ghent and this is within really easy walking distance of most of the main attractions. We will be going back, just for the relaxing time!

Great B&B in Perfect Location in Ghent

Very welcoming resident/host, with great pride and attention to detail. Short 5 minute walk to nicest part of Ghent old town, Only 5 rooms at this B&B, so book it early. Parking is of course remote, and recommend using Google maps to find.

A great place in a lovely city.

A great place almost like a miniature art gallery in some ways. We had a very fancy room with an expensive-looking free-standing bath, which looked great, but in practice trying to get a shower without spraying everything nearby was tricky.
That was the only downside really, except if you're in a hurry, which we weren't. Breakfast was leisurely, high quality and substantial with all guests at one table which was fine. It's a very short walk to the wonderful center of the town and they have their own (paid) parking. A great place.

Nice place. Lots of stairs. Make sure you are fit. A little confusion on checkout. Booked through Expedia and thought payment was complete but ended up paying full amount at end of stay. I like consistency and this was unexpected. Hopefully not paying double.

Great guesthouse centrally located

We stayed in the room with the bath which was a great choice. Bed was very comfortable, room was spacious, hosts did not intrude but were perfectly nice. Breakfast was decent although was limited to one small plate of fruit, one croissant and the yoghurt was a budget brand which was a bit disappointing and not in keeping with the stylish general ambience of the guesthouse. This was the only downside though!

Wonderful guesthouse experience in Ghent. Excellent view from our room. Easy walk to all key locations.
Friendly staff who prepared gourmet breakfast (included). Private, large rooms in great quiet location.

Nice enough but not blown away

The location was great - very close to the castle and centre - but disappointed not to have a double bed when we requested it at booking. Twin beds aren't quite the same for a romantic break! There were a few other bits that needed fixing/doing up - a ripped sofa covered by a blanket, a light, bathroom fan - but the room was clean, breakfast was lovely and staff were pleasant.

Very close to City Center, wonderful breakfast

Really enjoyed our stay here. I was taking care of business, but my wife was being a tourist in Ghent. Only one block from center of Ghent and all the tourist attractions. Parking was good, and secure, but located a block from the hotel. Building is a stately old rowhouse. Expensive in its day. Rooms are very neat and clean with unique designs. (owner insist that you not wear shoes upstairs - helps keep place clean) Breakfast came with room and was outstanding. They have special baker - lightest, crispest croissants I ever had. Gluten Free bread also available upon request. Host/owners are wonderful. Our room was the Japanese theme room - their smallest room. Spacious by Paris standards, but it meant our suitcases were on the floor and little drawer space available. I would definetly go back.

Excellent surprise at the heart of Ghent

The house is simply gorgeous, our host (Dieter) was very nice, breakfast excellent. Our room (the courtyard junior suite) was big, beautifuly designed and decorated, with a lot of light, comfortable bed, practical kitchenette. We didn't use the kitchenette though because the location is perfect and we were at a walking distance from the very center of the town, which offers great food. We would recommend this place anytime and hope to go back, with the kids this time, soon!

luxury B & B in old Ghent

We are bed and breakfast novices. This is only our second experience, and on our first we were the only guests, so that was a little difficult to assess.
This property and our stay were quite pleasant, although we still have figure out how to adjust to the fact that we are staying in a family's home. Our hostess was appropriately attentive, and she provided us with pretty good guidance for navigating the surrounding neighborhood, which was the old, central area of Ghent (or Gent), Belgium.
Although we had a little difficulty finding the place (online map services were not entirely accurate, it seems), the location turned out to be pretty great for our purposes, as our primary interest was exploring historic Ghent and visiting the Christmas market. Guesthouse PPP is in the old city, and only a couple block walk to the market.
One word of advice relates to a somewhat unusual check-in policy. Since this is a family home, check-in was specified from morning (9a to noon) or after 6p, an obvious departure from the conventional.

Beautiful guesthouse!

Such a beautiful place in a great location. The design and decor of this hotel are thoughtful and incredibly gorgeous. We stayed in the upstairs junior suite and it was very spacious, clean, and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and let us check in a bit early. Be sure to communicate your arrival time to them though to make sure someone is there. The breakfast in the morning was very tasty! The location is great, within minutes walking to the Gravensteen castle, restaurants and shopping. Since the main train station is not near the center of town, you do have to take the trolley from the station to the Gravensteen stop and walk a few minutes to the guesthouse. Or it's about a €10 taxi fare. Ghent is so beautiful and we wish we would've stayed more than one night in this place! Definitely recommend!

we stayed just one night on the top floor.lots of stairs but worth the effort for a large ultra modern room with a large somfortable bed. Small kitchen area and upstairs sofa bed and comfortable bean bag chair.Made most welcome by our hosts who filled us in on where to go and historical events.Car parking we didn't use. Very short stroll to the canal shops and restaurants.Themed bedrooms are available.enjoyed the experience .

Perfect location and parking included. two blocks from the center of old town. Great service and the best room I had in my 16 day trip around Europe. Air conditioning worked great. Satellite tv with hundreds of channels. Huge room. Mini fridge was the coldest of my trip.
