We arrived at this hotel to find it was a building site as they had tradesmen in the main hotel fixing a drainage system. We had only booked the hotel within an hour of arrival to learn it was not as advertised. We were walked over to the other part of the hotel across the street by the building works manager where we learned that the actual hotel main building was close and the hotel staff and rooms were operating out of their ancillary accommodation which we would not have selected if they were being honest when we booked. They refuses to offer a refund as we arrived shortly after booking the hotel. The staff were nice but totally inflexible

Very nice hotel with friendly staff. Like everywhere in the whole city, service doesn’t come quick but it was an enjoyable stay in the second building across from the main hotel. Comfy, modern rooms, very good bed. Ideally located. Probably as good as it gets as you are one minute walk from the main canal with all you need for bar/restaurants etc all with a few minutes walk from there. It’s a fabulous city and the hotel is ideally placed to pop in and out of during a day of wandering around

I absolutely loved this property and will stay here again. I was here 17 nights and because of the length was in a business apartment that was fully loaded. That being said, hosue keeping came by 4 days a week at random time but always when I was in my underwear with my head phones on. Lol, I dodnt mond, but Im sure I scared them enough. A do not disturb sign, specific cleaning times everyday at 11am or just coming on Monday like it said in the welcome pamphlet. I had enough towels and sheets for a week easy.

Again, loved the hotel, the room, the check in staff, but that was a little annoying.

We stayed here for 4 days in May-June 2023. First time ever in Ghent and Belgium. The place is nicely located. You can walk to the boating in the canal, eating places of all sorts, bus, tram, St Michael's church, St. Bavo's etc etc.The staff was very helpful providing us a few extra services we needed. Almost did not want to leave the place! Will definitely return if we come to Ghent again

This hotel has seen better days. It looks and feels run down. The white towels are all light grey. Even the more modern annex building down the street is weird. The bathroom isn't enclosed. The walls don’t up to the ceiling. So you have to open the window, even if it's cold outside, to avoid steaming up the bedroom. The mirror in the bathroom is installed so high, I could only see my forehead. The shower, while large, did not have good drainage so you inevitably flood the floor, which was painted poured concrete and got treacherously slippery. When checking in and out, the front desk was unmanned with a sign saying they would return shortly which turned out to be a while. If you have them storing your luggage, do so at your own risk as you have to put it in their small closet yourself. They take no responsibility for it. When I asked for a receipt at check out the woman seemed baffled and asked me what I wanted to see on the receipt.

Great location, beautiful hotel. Room was small, tight to keep two small back-packs and two carry roll on luggage in the room, and being two people. The door key card only worked one swipe, then we had to go to reception and reset it every time we came back to the room. Luckily reception was staffed all the time.

Hi,
We reserved 2 single beds but we were given a room with queen bed with 2 seperate blankets.
There was no hot water to take shower. I took shower on NYE with cold water.
The person on front desk brought an open and half used bottle of Champagne to our room with a spoon hanging on bottle neck (to keep the bubbles inside probably?!) I think he found half used bottle in other guests rooms when they checked out. Of course we didn’t drink it but I found that offer rather offensive.

Location is perfect for visiting medieval Gent. Just a blocks walk to that famous photo of the river. Hotel is clean and retains some of the buildings historic features. Would definitely stay there again.

Our room was in the outside annexe which was across the street. Had no connection with the hotel at all so we did not use any hotel facilities. The annexe had a very loud generator noise which was on permanently outside and disturbed our sleep. Not a great facility in winter as felt like an apartment block that opened directly outside. The room itself was nice and modern but it was more like a self catering apartment. Lack of connection to the hotel was a shame. Receptionist at the end did not even ask if we enjoy our stay. Did not feel part of the hotel.

Hotel was just not my cup of tea. Checked in, and then we found out that our room was actually down the street in another building. The safety of the neighborhood is questionable.

Was also disappointed in the bathroom facilities. The bathroom had the necessities, but the set up was strange, as the wall did not fully connect to the ceiling, so you could hear everything if you were sharing a room with anyone, lol. Not much privacy. The toilet was also incredibly close to the wall, so if you were tall, i'd imagine you'd have some problems lol.

Overall, it has everything you need, but I don't think I would ever stay there again, unless in a pinch.

The hotel was clean, tidy, comfortable and ideally situated near to the City centre. The rooms we had were of a good size, beds large and bathrooms spacious and well fitted. The staff were excellent, and all were friendly and efficient. Having to go 'into the open' to get to our rooms from reception was unusual, and a little bit of a nuisance when raining, but not a serious problem. Breakfast was very inconsistent. We stayed 3 nights, the Sunday breakfast was very good apart from seating arrangements being a bit cramped. The following day the poor young man was ran ragged trying to manage a large number of people by himself and had difficulty replenishing items quickly which had 'run out'. The Tuesday was less hectic, possibly because there were two staff on, but again some items were slow to be replenished and it appeared that on all days certain items had a finite amount, such as bacon, tomatoes, etc. which were not replenished even though there was still an hour to go for the designated breakfast times. All in all, I would recommend this hotel for its facilities, staff and location, but breakfast organisation needs sorting.

Rooms were very modern, clean and comfortable.
Check in and out was painless!
The buffet breakfast was good but sometimes it took some time to restock the supply of hot food.
There was no hot water one morning, but this was sorted when reported to reception
The only downsides were the rooms were in an annexe building (although umbrellas were provided for the walk to the mani block, luckily we did not need them) and the breakfast room was too small and not a good layout when busy.

Our room on arrival was completely unacceptable, just a broom cupboard in the corner hidden away in a courtyard. Were then offered an executive room down the street. We reluctantly accepted, but the bathroom didn't even have full walls, they just reached part way up. Not very pleasant. The next day we said we were very unhappy and as we were there for 4 nights we were offered and we accepted an upgrade. A big improvement, and the guy on duty was very pleasant and accommodating. This was not the best 4 star hotel we have been in in Belgium but the location was great.

The breakfast was amazing and the team serving were excellent. We had to upgrade our room as furniture in the standard room was rustic and unappealing. We were moved to the annexe which was down the road from the main hotel. This upgrade cost us €15/night but they did not mention the taxes on top of this. The room was lovely but drains smelt badly. The reception staff were polite but indifferent to our comments. Location was very convenient to the centre of Ghent.

Be warned! This hotel has two buildings. An old historic building with reception and restaurant; and a modern block built around a courtyard across the street. I was given a contemporary room in the new block. BUT in the centre of the courtyard there is possibly the loudest ventilation exhaust system ever installed by a hotel. (Imagine a refrigerated truck parked outside your bedroom window all night long!) I requested a change of room and was only offered an \"executive\" room in the old building, which the hotel considers an upgrade and therefore demands payment. The executive room is more spacious, but very worn and old-fashioned. The bathroom and furniture need upgrading asap. A real 4-star hotel would never charge for a room change when the guest has a reasonable (and politely put) reason to move rooms. This is a 3-star hotel, with poor 2-star customer service. Be warned.

Amazing location!

Stayed here for 2 nights with my Mum. The situation of this hotel is just brilliant! 2mins from the Grasped, 5mins from the 3 Towers and a whole host of restaurants within a 10min walk.
Check in was Great, very friendly woman. There was a problem with the door to our room not locking, but this got sorted immediately when pointed out to reception. The breakfast had everything from scrambled eggs to cold meats, yoghurt, cereal, the full shebang. My only gripe was the bed was too soft. I'd definitely stay there again over The Marriott or other larger hotels in Ghent.
p.s. a small heads up about the decking being under repair would've been a good thing.

Very conveniently placed hotel for the old town.

We stayed 2 nights with breakfast included over a Friday and Saturday.
We were initially put out by being put in the annex and having to troll down the road with case in tow, but soon realised it didn't mater and made coming and going to our room slightly more convenient.
The room was fine, though cleaning up the couple of marks on the walls would have helped.

The industrial look and feel to the room won't be to the tastes of all guests but the room was comfortable and it's facilities were adiquate to make you feel welcome.

The mini bar had the usual price sheet that had fallen through a worm-hole from a dystopian furue where rampent inflation means all the prices had too many zeros or big numbers, so we didn't touch that. But it was nice to know it was there if we suddenly came in to a load of money.

By chance we happened to be visiting Ghent when they were having their Ghent Festival and the hotel turned out to be about 2 minutes walk from the main event, yet still on a quiet street.

Breakfast was ok, they had a good selection, but warmer plates might make it less of a rush to eat the hot food before it got cold.
A word of warning for British visitors. They have no idea what Tea is. They have lots of things they call tea, but when looking for a nice cuppa to set you up for the morning, lets hope you brought some with you. (This goes for anywhere in Belgium as far as we could tell.)

Over all we had a great time in Ghent and the hotel is comfortable,clean.

Wonderful quiet location to visit this pretty town

Comfortable hotel with quiet room close to all main sights and tram no 1. Friendly and welcoming staff who were, especially Ingo on reception, very helpful. Excellent 2 hr walking tour from Uppelink hostel on St Michael's bridge. Good vegetarian restaurant and Indian curry house in same street. Easy walk to Korenmarkt (Du Progres for Flemish stew), and imaginative restaurants in the Patershol. Van Eyck in St Baafs Cathedral not to be missed. Tram 1 to station for day trip to Bruges, but this seemed overcrowded by comparison with lovely Ghent.

Disappointment and poorly designed bathroom.

This bathroom is extremely poorly designed. The toilet is so cramped that one can not stand in front of it or sit on it. It could easily have been facing into the bathroom and had plenty of room. The shower has no place to put soap.

We were sent to a parking garage that was closed and the staff insisted that we go back saying it was open. It wasn't. We went to a second that was twice the cost but worked.

The room was hot, but the staff said they didn't turn on the air conditioning until May. In the room it said they didn't turn on until June. When we checked out the wait person said they would turn it on that day. She apologized and offered breakfast even though we were obviously leaving and it was after normal breakfast time.

Staff acted friendly, but I did not feel it was sincere.

Cannot fault this hotel at all, clean rooms, Comfortable beds, hot showers...Staff all very friendly and helpful., Lovely breakfast every morning, with plenty of food choice...Nice central location..

Nice place, just needs tinkering.

The hotel's appearance is great, but there is a lot of maintenance issues; switches that don't work, broken door handles, etc. Signage was limited too making direction difficult. The staff were nice but unable to organise the breakfast. We stayed in the annexe across the road which a newish build. Clean and comfortable. Nice place but needs work.

Good base to explore Ghent from

Hotel was in a good location, the decor was a bit tired in the room but it was clean. Mini bar prices were inflated 3.90 euros for a tiny bottle of water was very over priced.

Warm and spacious room, good location

Very comfortable bed, super hot shower (which is what we needed when the outside temperature was in the minuses!) and heating was very responsive!
Hotel is located just round the corner from the Center, canals, bars, restaurants and shops. Ideal. There is a convenience spar store opposite the hotel entrance (but check the opening hours as they are unusual compared to the Uk!) didn’t have he breakfast because there are so many restaurants to choose from

Hotel was good but we had a street facing room and this proved quiet noisey experience on our first night.

We did ask for a room change but were told they were fully booked and could not move us.

The second night was quieter .

Breakfast can be better

The room I stay the air con is spoiled. When I requested to change room. I was told no room is available. I told them if I won't get a room by end of days, I will move to other hotel. Later in the evening, I was given a new room. So overall I am satisfied with the hotel.
Breakfast everyday the same. No new items. Is ok for me but it will be nice if they can change the menu for 1 or 2 items. Breakfast variety is acceptable except they is no vegetables. Will be nice if salad is provided during breakfast.
