The first room we were placed in had a broken toilet seat, and the room was TINY. However, the friendly staff member immediately reassigned us to a much nicer room with more space. The hotel was clean and comfortable and within easy walk to city centre

The room was way too expensive and I didn't even get breakfast with it. You can find better deals. I didn't even get Canal view. The room was nice and clean. But you can get that for much less price in town. It was annoying that every five minutes the light would go off if you're not moving around. You have to get up and turn the light on. They did have some lights by the bed, but they were not as bright.

Ok so there are two different buildings for this hotel and you will have totally different experiences depending on if you are in the from historic building with elegant rooms and facing the castle or if you have to go all the way to the back to that scary ugly building that in no way feels like you are in Brugge. Good luck we where first put in back and I went to desk and asked and they put us in main building with gorgeous room and perfect view of castle from our window.

Parking is a challenge but we knew this prior to our arrival. Hotel staff did a great job communicating with us prior to our arrival. The area around the hotel is shutdown to vehicle traffic mid to late July due to 10 day music festival (fun time - great energy).

AC unit was not working properly but windows open - not a big concern.

Bed extremely comfortable.

Room was clean - nicely done.

Would stay again.

The location is the best. The hotel is comfortable nothing negative to say. The young lady employee at the breakfast room was very helpful giving us useful touristic information I could not get at the front desk.

Is a very nice hotel. Definitely an older one but is well kept up. The location was fabulous. It’s diagonal to the Gravensteen castle. Very short, walk to canals and all the eatery places as well as tourist attractions. Check in staff were extremely helpful.

The location cannot be faulted. However the room we were allocated was not of the standard we expected. No mirror in the room, other than the one in the bathroom (which you could not get close too). Very tight space around the bed. Towels were of poor quality. Considering what we paid we expected better quality overall.

2 Days in Ghent

The hotel was located a short walk from the castle on a pretty cobbled street with shops and restaurants typical of Ghent. The bed was really comfortable, the room spacious and the bathroom well appointed with a good shower. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful and a good continental breakfast was provided.

It was ok. Had a very bad first night of sleep as the radiator was making noises throughout the night. It woke me up a few times so I have decided to turn it off the next night. The room was small and outdated but the location excellent.

I had a long stay. It was lovely! It’s a beautiful hotel and the staff was able to rise to any challenge. It’s in the perfect location across from the castle and abundant shopping, dining, drinking, museum, church, tower and canal tours and amazing chocolate. The breakfast was excellent and had many options.

I chose one of the cheaper rooms - facilities may be better in other categories. Lovely buiding, fab location and friendly staff.

No air-con and it was warm. Very noisy outside with window open. Aircon was being installed when I was there and windows were measured for new sound proof fittings. So things may improve.

I did have to make a complaint about something and staff dealt with it very well.

Despite tram works, relatively easy to get to hotel from train station. Do check status but as of July 2024 it was T1 to Zuid, then change platform for T2 to Gravesteen

At first we were put in a cupboard labelled room 11 which I didn't realise was above the smoking area until we went to bed. It stank. I am asthmatic and could not breathe. Above us were the party 'couple' who were literally up all night banging. I begged to be moved and was told no rooms left. I checked with a booking website and could book a room - a clean room, not smelly and no banging couple. After I begged and cried the member of staff finally relented and gave us a suite (room 44). It was stunning. Book that if you want a treat. It rescued our weekend away. The hotel is lovely as long as you get a good room. Breakfast was fabulous and the position is perfect - right in front of the castle. You need to book high up if you want to be away from the street noise and have a view.

Old hotel with steps in hallways. So not good for people with disabilities. Room was very warm and airco was making strange noises. Luckily we were able to open the windows to lower temperature. Staff was really nice. Arriving by car was a nightmare with the current Ghent traffic mess.

The hotel is beautiful and in a wonderful location. I had hoped to get a parking spot at the hotel. I wasn't aware that the spots are limited and you have to reserve a spot. With all of the one way streets, it is very frustrating to get to the parking garages. But the young lady at the desk was very friendly and helpful. Ghent is an amazing place!

This hotel is right across the street from Gravensteen Castle (we looked right out at the castle from our window!) and very conveniently located on a tram stop right in the center of town.

The rooms were very clean and well-organized with extensive storage space, very comfortable beds,
and rain showers in the updated bathrooms.

Common areas were clean and pretty, and the bar was open 24 hours (most of the pubs in the area closed at 11, so this was a nice feature if you're looking for a nightcap.)

The desk staff was efficient and polite.

The location of this hotel is amazing! We had a very spacious room and bathroom so rrally happy with that.
However as its an old building there was no air con! I did ask for a fan and thankfully they had one so this got us through.
Our room was facing the busy street so if we were to book again i would request a room not facing this street.

First time in my hotel experience I've got downgraded room, and when I pointed out to it, staff reaction was weird - first, they totally agreed with me that it was standard room instead of executive room, which was clearly mentioned in the reservation, second - they didn't have any power to settle it, just brought list of exuses, didn't even suggested any compensation and told me to send an email to hotel's management. Besides, the service desk was very reluctant to respond to simple requests like to change towels etc. The room - altghoug it was a 'standard' room in building annexe attic - didn't have even heat thermostat , and you have to use wall heaters regulators instead - turning them on and off every few hours, along with having depressing furniture and cheap quality beds and matresses. The only advantage of this property is its location - it's literally located 2 min walk from beatiful Gravensteen castle, but other then that it looks like dated and overpriced hotel with tired stuff.

We chose this hotel as it said they had parking. They sent us an email to say call them before you enter the pedestrian zone to check if parking was available. We phoned twice and the phone just rang and rang and then cut off. We had to park in the public parking about 5 minutes walk away and carry our bags. When we tried to check in there was no-one on reception. We waited then phoned and heard the phone ring behind the desk but no-one came. Then eventually someone appeared. And their parking had plenty of space which was very annoying, probably as no-one can reach them by phone. They never asked us if we wanted breakfast or at what time so we ate out. I think they are very short staffed. The only place to plug in the kettle in the room is to put it on the floor. The hotel looks impressive from outside but is a bit disappointing inside.

Check in was delayed, but able to leave luggage there until we could check in. Was upgraded to a luxury room which was huge, clean and very comfortable.
Breakfast is great with lots of pastries, cheeses and meats to choose from.
Staff are friendly.
I shall be back for my 3rd visit next year x

Location, location, location

We stayed at this hotel for one night weekend of Jul-22. Fantastic location, right in the middle of all action and right across the castle. The hotel is quite big and entrance is grand. The ghent festival was on our doorstep. We parked at the Ramen carpark which was €14 for 24hrs, its 5mins walk to hotel.

We had the hotel at a decent price for the night however there was no air con in the room and we slept with window open which meant mosquito bites and bit of an uncomfortable sleep for summer nights.

Terrible experience. Booked a room for 3 but was only offered a room for 2. The room heater was not working overnight while outside the temperatures were 2-3 degrees. Repeated requests at 11pm and 4am were met with no action at all. Lights in the room were not working despite letting the reception know. The room was smelling really bad after check-in which did not stop throughout our stay.
