Very poor sound insulation between rooms. No ventilation was working in the bathroom. Room amenities were at 3 stars level at best.

A must stay boutique Hotel.

Great location and enjoyed the lodge setting accommodation. Convenient location to explore Ghent with only a 20 drive to the city centre. Excellent free on site parking. Decided to book a second night as first night was brilliant. In a different room from previou7s night7 and the decor was tastefully done throughout. Super inviting and super comfy. Restaurant in the main hotel is a hidden gem, lots of locals, amazing attentive service and fabulous food. The only one issue was the quality of the towels they seem very tired and worn, thin terrible. Maybe also another blind in recess of window for absolute no light seepage. We also did not have breakfast as was an extra cost which seemed a bit high.

Luxury boutique hotel a must stay near Ghent.

Only mishaps, there is a coffee machine in the room with cream provided and one of the cream was very expired.

Nice hotel but if like us you got put in the building at the top of the carpark rooms 21 to 24 they can be noisy as above two function rooms and if people talk in the hallway it echos and you can hear every word even when other room uses open thier doors it wakes you up.
The function rooms have a coffee area out side them in the hallway and at 0630 we were awoken again by the noise of cups and the coffee machines (we think it was the staff replenishing).
So not the best nights sleep.
We thought we has a double bed but got two singles separately made up and just pushed together be carefully of the gap opening up in the night when you move about.
Breakfast is basic not a lot and 30 euros each and we could not find the staff.
Over all great setting but not the best place we have stayed in

The hotel is lovely but not good for young families. Our kids are 3 and 5 and I did not feel they were made welcome from both staff and other guests

The hotel has so much potential and I can imagine it is fantastic for a wedding, but there is so much unused space for everyday use.

We opted to eat out on an evening as we couldn't work out if the main restaurant was open or just the tapas.

The room itself and the grounds are absolutely amazing. Clean, smelt good and massive!

I would definitely go back....minus the kids

The hotel room is basic and simple, barely meet the standard of a $150/N room. The location and the buildings are nice. The worst thing happened to me is that the hotel charged me twice because the receptionist didn't know how to do checkout. She kept telling me that she didn't know how to do checkout and I need to check out in the morning, even though I already told her that I had to leave at 6am before the morning person comes to catch an international flight. She said that they don't do checkout in the evenings (which again I never heard of from any hotel). In the end, they somehow charged me twice. I understand mistakes can happen, and it should be easy to solve by just refunding me the money back to my credit card. But again, they insisted to have my bank account information, which will involve international wire fee. I gave them my account info, so far I haven't heard anything back and didn't know when I can get my money back. I am a world traveler and have stayed in many hotels every year. To be honest, I don't think I will recommend this one.

Lovely but woken early

This is a really well looked after Auberge, in a good position on the river. We had booked a deluxe double room, but on arrival we were told we had been upgraded to a junior suite room number 41. It was in a separate building that is used for conferences. The room was very nice, with lovely views of the river, a comfortable bed, with an En suite with a bath and shower, and good quality toiletries. There was no mini bar, or facilities to make a hot drink, just a bottle of water. We had an evening meal in the restaurant, which was very good. We were really tired as had been travelling all day and were woken at 7 am as the conference room next door was being set up, I would suggest that you ask if the conference room next to room 41 is being used before you book this room.

Nice weekend in romantic village

L’ Auberge du Pecheur is located along a river in a romantic artist village with many museums and restaurants! The hotel is known for seminars and can handle many guests. Our cosy room was in the original main building, a bit small but with a kingsize bed, bathroom had shower, no bath. Everything was clean and all amenities were available. The restaurant serve excellent food. The breakfast buffet was served there too, a bit expensive and no lighter alternatives were offered. All by all we spent a nice weekend there, and we can certainly recommend this place!

We were given a lovely room, but the facilities to make a cup of coffee were unavailable, and then grudgingly a kettle and two cups were provided. A chair was converted to a table and the kettle placed on it. Maid services and general cleanliness were poor. It looked like the room was not used on a regular basis.

This hotel is an absolute gem! The room we had was spacious, the location by the river is great for a few evening drinks and the quality of food in the restaurant was so high. The only complaint I can make is we wanted to have breakfast the following morning but after making our way to the restaurant and waiting for 20 minutes no one was to be found to take our food order so we left. I raised this with reception at checkout and they apologized, offering to do breakfast now but by that point we needed to get on the road. Will return and stay again though!

Vintage Charm, Modern Amenities & Relaxing Atmosph

My husband and I wanted to stay in the “countryside” while visiting Belgium. We discovered this hotel and decided to book based on the photos.

Check in was smooth and staff was extremely friendly. There is a restaurant on site and she offered to make a reservation for us. We were also “upgraded” to a room with a view.

The room looked as if it was out of a magazine. Sharply decorated and comfortable. Hardwood floors! We had a beautiful patio outside that had a view of an open field. We were a little disappointed that we couldn’t see the river, but not a big deal.
The bathroom was great. Stand up shower only, good lighting and your basics amenities.
Bed was comfortable and sheets clean.

There were two exits to the patio, one in the main room and one in the bathroom. We loved having the door opened at night.

Our only gripe was the location. There was not a lot of restaurants or pubs nearby and the restaurant was a bit too fancy for our casual trip.

I wouldn’t call it a hotel nor B&B, rather a lodge. We stayed overnight on our way to Brugge in the outskirts of Ghent. The “suite” we had was overpriced for what we were offered but it was in spacious room that was recently decorated with good taste. Our room had a little terrace overlooking a stream/canal.

Perfect for short stay

Great hotel for relaxing stay away from the hustle & bustle of city life. Near enough to Gent for sight seeing, shopping etc and well worth the short drive from the E40 if looking for an overnight stop.
Difficult to fault this hotel and breakfast was fantastic.
We also enjoyed an evening meal but price will be on the higher side.

Make the effort channel crossers!

Fantastic! Happened upon this place by accident because instead of staying in Folkestone, England the night before crossing the Channel we decided to get across and drive for an hour or so into Belgium to give us a good early start for the next day. We found this place on Hotels.com and were amazed by how lucky we were on arrival. First, we were given HUGE rooms and free private parking in an annexe of the building where we were the only guests. Then our dogs were invited into the restaurant with us while the chef created unique dishes for the vegans in our party at a very acceptable price, and finally the quality and surroundings of the place were just perfect for a quick overnighter. BOOK WITH COBFIDENCE - this is a real gem. OH - and the staff are wonderful!

Nice hotel in rural settings with small room

The hotel is located in an attractive rural area within easy reach of Ghent. Breakfast was very good. However, our room was unacceptably small. We booked a \"standard double room\" which was stated as being 25 square metres. The room was actually 16.65 square meters (including bathroom and built-in wardrobe. The mini-bar was not pre-cooled and only managed to drop to 16C by midnight.

good, but make sure to get the best

staying at this hotel as we had to see friends close by, so convenient. Didn't use the hotel much except to sleep. Had room on other side of parkign. Rooms OK if a bit bare. One real problem : could hear nearly everythig going on in the next room, noise insulation was terrible. Make sure you get a room facing the water.

I thought this would have been a great hotel in a lovely location by the river. The deal with breakfast was good. What let it down was a very expensive dinner with very poor service. It was a great disappointment - we should have gone elsewhere (Ghent) for better service and much better prices. You should't pay a fiver for a small bottle of water. We could.t recommend this place to anyone.

Pleasant hotel in the countryside.

It's a delightful hotel with kindly helpful staff, especially the lady in reception and Ben who seems to do everything in the restaurant and bar and looked after us in exemplary fashion. The main facilities - lounge, bar, dining room etc., are all very comfortable.
We had an excellent dinner, and breakfast too was very good.
Our room was in a separate building up the hill a bit opposite the main hotel. So by the time we, with our luggage, had mounted the steps up to the front door, and then the stairs inside, we were a bit puffed and could have done without the climb. The bedroom part of the accommodation was a bit basic, nowhere to sit, no pictures and dedorated in 'battleship grey' as was most of the hotel interior. The bathroom was fine.
If we stay there again, we would have to have accommodation in the main building.

We were warmly welcomed by very friendly, efficient, English speaking reception staff. Each receptionist we met during our stay was delightful. Our room was as described on the internet. It was across a very busy lane from the main building in a quiet building called Latem House. We had a large comfortable bed, in a large convenient room with lots of windows and natural light. The bathroom was also very large and modern with luxury bath and separate shower cubicle. It also had large windows and lots of natural light (a rarity in most hotels as most do not have windows in bathrooms) We ate dinner in the Bistro \"The Green\" on 2 evenings of our 4 nights' stay. The service was good as was the food. Breakfast was included and was the usual buffet breakfast fayre. All the staff were friendly and helpful with the exception of one female breakfast waitress, who clearly should not have been in the hospitality industry. As our room was a deluxe room, it would have been nice to have had towelling bath robes provided - we had one pair of towelling slippers. There was no 'fridge in the room and no tea or coffee making facilities. As we had to leave the building and cross the very busy (and dangerous) lane for a drink of any sort, these facilities would have been much appreciated. Neither was there a room safe. Umbrellas in the room to protect us while walking to the main building would have been very useful.

Not worth it

Absolutely dreadful. The hotel was not at all value for money. The room whilst advertised as 4 Star did not reach expectations and came in as a lower three star, being dark, small and lacking in furniture and amenities. The remainder of the hotel was emplty and with a very cold atmosphere and the chap cleaning the patio area below our window at 7:30am did not go down well. The appearance of the hotel seemed to be more important than the overall customer experiance.

Auberge Du Pecheur Somewhere for the connoisseur

The secret is out what a gem this hotel is. Situated 20 mins from central Gent city ~ but you will need a car.
We went for a walk around the hotel the day we arrived as its situated in a beautiful village.
The hotel is on a river bank, very peacefull, it had super rooms very clean and the restaurant had excelent menu although we didnt eat there due to other commitments, we did have a very nice buffet breakfast. Only negative I can say is you have to cross a busy country road to get to some of the rooms, it's on sharp bend and the traffic is difficult to see, not easy for disabled or pushchairs or young children- Hotel is Definately worth booking. Staff were brilliant and helpful. We would stay here again ~ this is a hotel for those who like something relaxing brilliant if you want to get away weekend

Beautiful surroundings and facilities

The hotel was in a beautiful setting and the facilities were excellent. The view across the river was lovely and we watched birds and hares as we had a drink after dinner. . The room was spacious, well appointed and extremely clean. The seperate dressing room was a bonus, as was the enormous bathroom with its double shower. The only very slight negatives were only 4 hangers between 2 double wardrobes, the lack of a shelf or caddy in the shower and no full length mirrir anywhere. These did not, however, detract at all from our stay.

The staff were attentive and very helpful and the food in the bistro was superb. The breakfast was delicious and there was plenty of choice.

Het hotel is erg mooi en praktisch gelegen, net onder Gent. We hadden gevraagd om een rustige kamer en kregen deze ook, in een van de bijgebouwen aan de bosrand. Hierin waren 4 kamers en 2 vergaderruimtes aanwezig. Vanuit de directe buurkamer was het wel gehorig.
Kamer en badkamer waren comfortabel met een fijn bed en goede douche. Het ontbijt was uitmuntend.

Smukt hotel med udsigt over kanalen og markerne ( stille og roligt)
Ligger fantastisk ude på landet. Morgenmaden var 10/10 perfekt. Eneste minus på dette sted er, at værelset var meget lille, fint hvis man har en weekend taske med, men var meget upraktisk med kæmpe kufferter.

Prachtige locatie en mooie kamers. Bij aankomst bleek de kamer die ik toegewezen kreeg niet schoon te zijn. Kreeg een upgrade. Deze was echter aan de overkant van de weg waardoor ik heen en weer moest. Het weer was goed dus nu geen probleem maar had het geregend was ik minder blij geweest. Ga volgende week weer, hopelijk nu alles naar volle tevredenheid

Des progres a refaire!

Hôtel qui a eu son heure de gloire mais avec desormais certaines déconvenues. Une literie pas tres propre avec heureusement un monsieur reactif alors que l'heure etait tardive, une douche remplie de calcaire et une dame a l'accueil qui ne cherche pas a comprendre certaines problematiques. En esperant que tout revienne a la normale et que ce n'etait qu'un faux pas comme il peut en exister chez chacun.

slopen van de kussen met vlekken en 1 met spocht vlekken
entree van bijgebouw waar we sliepen stonk muf, zo ook de kamer. kamer nadat de ramen een tijdje open stonden veel frisser, kamer veel soberder dan op de foto's. vrijstaand bad met handdouche zonder gordijn dus alles nat.
Personeel van de bar gaven echt het idee dat je niet welkom was voor alleen een drankje. bestelling duurde ongeveer 1/2 uur of om van een 2de drankje maar niet te spreken (gasten van restaurant, wat erg prijzig was, hadden duidelijk hun voorkeur.

We hadden een Luxe kamer besteld met bad en een tweepersoonsbed. Aanvankelijk kregen we een kamer zonder bad en met twee eenpersoonsbedden. Zonder problemen konden we een switch maken naar een kamer mèt bad, maar helaas waren er geen kamers met teen tweepersoonsbed én bad beschikbaar. Dit hadden we graag van tevoren gehoord.Houder met tissues in de badkamer was leeg, Geen thee op de kamer (wel koffie)

Die Unterkunft bietet eine gemütliche Atmosphäre und saubere Zimmer. Die Einrichtung ist teilweise etwas in die Jahre gekommen und die Matratzen sind nicht sehr bequem. Das Frühstück und der Service an der Bar war sehr gut. Uns hat der Aufenthalt gefallen.

Établissement propre, juste déçue par l’accueil, la chambre ne possedait pas de volets occultants, la douche fuyait et pour couronner le tout, l’insonorisation n’est vraiment pas au top.
En revanche un excellent restaurant, le petit déjeuner excellent et le cadre est magnifique

시골의 한적한 호텔.
주변경관 좋고 동네 산책길도 좋아요.
레스토랑 요리도 good!
주차시설 OK. 차량이 있어야겠죠?

단점하나, 오래되어서 바닥은 깔끔하다고 볼수 없어요.

Alles was redelijk veroudert pakeer gelegenheid is gevaarlijk met overstekek. Kreeg ongevraagd andere kamer. Deze was vies stonden nog bierblikjes van vorige bewoner toilet was niet schoon. Wij gaan er nooit meer naar toe
