I recently stayed at Hotel Campanile Gent for a few nights. Overall, the hotel was decent. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was friendly. The location is also convenient for exploring the city, being close to public transport and the main attractions.

However, I did have an unpleasant experience during my stay. I had to call reception because of a domestic disturbance from the room next door. The noise was quite disruptive, and I felt uncomfortable during the situation. The staff did respond promptly, which was appreciated, but it did affect the overall experience.

In terms of amenities, the hotel offers what you would expect for the price. The breakfast was satisfactory, though nothing extraordinary.

While the experience wasn’t perfect, the hotel did meet basic expectations, and I would consider staying here again if I had a similar situation.

For the money it was certainly bad value the area was noisy all no due to factory’s very close by and also people partying in the car park outside our room the room was extremely basic with a very poor bed but the shower was good about all we can say on a positive really if you are look for a place to feel miserable then look no further

If you want a good nights sleep don’t bother!

The room was on the ground floor with no curtains only net curtains, there was a light direct outside the room , so got zero sleep, then had to drive for 13 hours the next day. The bed was uncomfortable!

Compact, neat & comfortable. We enjoyed our stay here with a nice room & brilliant bath, which filled quickly.

Breakfast was so nice with fruit & granola & much more. Would just suggest some plant based milk be added.

Bus 19 goes straight to Sint St Pieterberg station from outside the hotel (8 minutes) or a 40-minute walk ….. yes, we timed it 😄

Just AVOID this place!
I'm not sure what was worse, the fact it seems to be right next to a chemical factory that hums ALL night, or that there aren't any curtains, just metal shutters with holes in.
Maybe the black mould in the bathroom?
No wait - I know!
It's the fact that the walls are SO THIN you can hear everything around you - EVERYTHING! People talking, in the shower - ON THE TOILET.
The place needs knocking down it really does.
It was so bad we checked out early and got another hotel.
Just avoid!

After being given rooms which had not been prepared or cleaned, we were moved to rooms which had been prepared.
The breakfast choice was very good and plentiful and the restaurant at night offered good meals if you didn't want to travel elsewhere.
Overall experience was good and staff were always helpful.

Too expensive for no reason. This hotel is the worst within this chain. I have stayed in many Hotel Campanile properties but this one is in serious need of refurbishing. Also you cannot boast to have a restaurant and bar only to find them shut at 5om on arrival. Clearly thats wrong information and worrying for any persons or families planning to stay here. Sadly however you offer guest the opportunity to buy alcohol from a fridge and invite them to kill themselves by drinking alcohol with no food. This makes no sense.

Rooms look very poor from the outside, yet are surprising comfortable inside, if small.
Don’t trust the cleaners, things do go missing, especially from suitcases.
Restaurant has only a limited menu but the food is very good and the staff friendly
Try to stay to the front of the accommodation block as there is a noisy industrial unit to the rear that works throughout the night.
Don’t open the windows unless you have good bug spray, the mosquitoes will eat you alive!

In a very busy location (in terms of traffic and noise). Hotel full of Eastern European workers who sit outside rooms smoking, drinking and playing music into the late night. Leaving all their rubbish outside. Very intimidating going to the room walking through them - felt like a prison. Next to a noisy factory that drones on all night. Room small and basic and dirty cloth left in the bathroom. Breakfast was good. Would not choose to stay again

The hotel was standard, like the other campanile hotels, but our entrance card got problems 2 days in a row and we couldn't enter the room. One day, it was after 11 pm so we needed to call the hotels number. Luckily one of the employees was sleeping in a room and could help us in 5 minutes. The day after, we came back at 6 pm and the card wasn't working again, and the reception was already closed, for some reasons I don't know. Again, the same employee helped us. I was nice to get the help almost immediately but it would be nicer to write some signs by the entrance of the reception with emergency numbers and opening hours of the reception.

No frills accommodation within easy reach of the centre of Ghent. Easy access to main routes. There is a bus stop very close to the hotel and you can get a bus into the centre of town. It was a 50 minute walk back from town to the hotel. There is a restaurant but we did not use it.

The hotel is about 15 mins from the city centre. The 1st room we were given had no light in the bathroom and the hairdrier didn't work. We were moved to another room in which there was only 1 set of towels for 2 people. The bath towel was like a rag and dirty. The staff were friendly and helpful and dealt with our complaints quickly.

We were very close to Ghent and drove into the city for a visit, although you can ride public transportation if you need it. We had a late dinner that was delicious. Checkin and out was a breeze and the staff answered all of our tourist questions.

The hotel was a convenient and cost-effective venue for a two-night stay while I attended a conference at the Ghelamco Arena.

The rooms are quite basic but have all the facilities that you need for a short stay. It is also conveniently served by direct buses from the train station and city centre, which stop about one minute's walk from the reception building.

The only negatives are that while it appears to be very close to the stadium, the four minute walking route advertised by Google isn't accessible if there isn't a football match taking place, unless you're lucky enough to find the perimeter gates open, so allow for a 10 minute walk to the side of the stadium with the Albert Heijn supermarket (very convenient for meals) or another couple of minutes for access to the main reception.

My room was on the back of the accommodation block, which was quite dark and narrow to access at night, but it's generally a very quiet area so I didn't feel unsafe. It's worth noting that the hotel is surrounded by factories on two sides and the noise from those buildings starts to get quite noisy from 6am-7am. I found this quite useful to make sure I was up in time for my work, but those wanting to sleep in longer might want to request a room overlooking the car park for a quieter night's stay.

We could not find this hotel especially when we were given the wrong instructions by their desk clerks. We drove around with their wrong info for 90 minutes in the late evening. The hotel were not helpful . Currently we have been charged for the rooms and would like credit.
We tried very hard and our lack of language made it more difficult.

Not for winter time

The hotel is generally in a poor condition. It is even in renovation now. But the main problem - it is cold. The temperature in the room seems to be less the 20°C. The floor (in the room) is very cold - according to my observations - ca. 10°C! Even electrical heater, working all the time at maximum power, didn't help. The entire situation while outdoors temperature was ca. -2°C. I am even afraid to think, what it would be if the outside temperature was lower. The hotel is just for summer time only!

The only bright point at the moment is personnel. Nice, helpful, open minded, able to speak in many languages. These people are the only saving grace for the hotel at the moment.

By the way the hotel, although located in an industrial area, looks quite nice. For summer stay - could be eventually recommended.

A sad, worn out motel. Company literature leaves rather incongruous messages here and there about their concern for the environment, etc. Is that why the towels are worn out? My bed had springs ready to pop out. Restaurant was unprofessional and overpriced. Only thing that was good is that it was close to the city and just off the freeway, so it was easy to leave this place lost in the 70s.

We stayed at this hotel twice, as a quick stopover en route to and from Germany. The first time it was very quiet and relaxing. The second time they were hosting two teams for a cycle race but, although very busy, the staff coped efficiently.

I picked this hotel to use as a base for a short cycling trip, due to its location and good value. The staff were excellent, room was comfy and there was a good choice of food at breakfast. Wifi was a bit hit and miss - worked perfectly the first day, but was out of range the next two nights and had to walk outside room to use.
Had an issue with the hotel making an unauthorised payment to my credit card for the cost of the stay (having already booked and paid via Expedia) However this was sorted out on my return and refunded in full.

Pros: Nice hotel in a quite neighborhood. Within walking distance from UZ Gent. Eager, cooperative staff. Delectable dinner menu.
Cons: prior reservation a must for dinner. Far away from city center with no shops/markets in vicinity. On a couple of occasions, found high particulate levels in the potable tap water.

It was a pleasant stay for one night with friendly helpful staff but the smell from the saniflow system in the ensuite spoiled the experience somewhat. However, the bed was really comfortable and we were warmly welcomed. I suppose you cannot get away from the industrial nature of the location but the tall hedge helped conceal that.

I stayed a night here on a business trip. This is an excellent Campanile Hotel in pleasant grounds outside the town of Ghent. The accommodation is clean, up to date and well appointed. The service is very polite and efficient. The presentation of the dining room and the food were above the normal Campanile standard. The tables were laid in a sophisticated manner with wine glasses, napkins etc. The carbonnade flamande and frites were very good indeed and the house red and kir were splendid. There was a normal Campanile breakfast with scrambled eggs as an extra. the charges were very reasonable. I would be delighted to stay there again and recommend it highly.

The Campanile is pretty much what you'd expect-it's fairly cheap, it's in a not very nice area. Free parking, and a reasonable breakfast for 11 euros definitely help!
Essentially it's an old motel - the bedroom opens on to an outdoor balcony. There are no lifts, but you'll be up one flight of stairs at the most.
Reception seems to operate limited hours, so don't arrive late at night!
The room was small, with a double bed, narrow desk, and wardrobe. The bathroom was spotless. The decor is very very outdated and there is no air conditioning. There was a small heater on the wall with scorch marks stretching up across the wallpaper. It was surprisingly efficient- the room was cosy within 2-3 hours. There was only one power socket, fortunately I always travel with a power strip so that wasn't a big problem.
Overall I'd say this place was fine if you're not planning to hang around in the room, and for this particular trip I was travelling alone so needed to keep my hotel price low, so it was ok. I paid around 60 euros per night.

Nice, Inexpensive Hotle

The Hotels.com site indicated this was in the city center. It was not; not even close. However, that is not the hotel's fault! It was clean, quiet, and had what we needed. The staff was very helpful. There was adequate parking, although the parking codes we were given to exit the parking are only good for 30 minutes! It had a restaurant, although we were there at holiday and weekend days, so the chef was not there. Only quick meals were available. The lasagna was good: I would not recommend the cheese pizza!
