My only complaint was that the maid did not restock the makeup remover or hand lotion or empty the trash in the room. She made the bed and replaced the towels. That’s it. Other than that the hotel was amazing. Staff was friendly the place had such charm and character and was in a great location. Loved everything but the maid. The restaurant was incredible and David the bartender was as so cool friendly helpful and creative. Went above and beyond very time we sat down for a drink. Love the place. Will return!!

I feel like this hotel wants to be a boutique luxury property but it just misses. I wouldn’t categorize as luxury, but rather elevated eclectic. The rooms are really minimal, not luxurious, but comfortable with nice robes and toiletry products. And while the restaurant/bar is very understaffed, the servers were very friendly and did their best. We would co aider staying again.

The location of the Grady Hotel is wonderful — situated right in the heart of downtown Louisville, close to the Bourbon Trail and surrounded by great local shops and restaurants. I really wanted to love this hotel because I typically enjoy staying at smaller boutique properties.
While the staff was friendly, the hotel lacked the attention to detail needed to feel truly “luxury.” The housekeeping was particularly disappointing. Our room was noticeably dusty, and the bathroom was not cleaned thoroughly daily. Water bottles were also not consistently restocked as expected.
We also experienced an issue with the curtain tracks in the bedroom. The curtains for two large windows came off the track, and although housekeeping saw the problem, it wasn't addressed during our stay. For two of our four nights, we were unable to fully close the curtains. We could have contacted the front desk, but this should have been noticed and proactively resolved by housekeeping.
Overall, the hotel has a great location and boutique charm, but the operational details and room upkeep need improvement to meet luxury hotel expectations.

Room was tiny!! There were 4 of us - 2 adults and 2 teenage children trying to share 2 full beds. It was just a stop on our way through, but no one got any sleep. Apparently they only have full size beds in the whole hotel so we would have had to purchase another room. Not what we expected at all.

We really enjoyed this hotel, which was beautifully repurposed from a 1800s hat company. The architect who designed the space did an outstanding job—the character and detail throughout are impressive.
While the rooms were a bit tight, they were still comfortable and manageable. Breakfast was fantastic and served in a unique speakeasy-style space in the basement, which added to the overall experience.
Mark, the host in the restaurant, was excellent—friendly, engaging, and full of great knowledge about the building’s history, which made the stay even more memorable.
I would definitely stay here again if I’m back in Louisville.

The hotel is beautiful and really conveniently located to bourbon stops, bars and restaurants. We didn't eat at the bar/restaurant but did have cocktails and Travis was amazing. Our room was perfect and we'd definitely stay here again. My only very small piece of feedback was related to the valet. When we arrived, the check in associate 'didn't know where he was' and 'didn't have his number' so we had to wander a bit for him to return. I am certain he was just parking another car but it was just a very strange experience.

The best part about the Grady is its excellent location in historical Louisville. We walked to many attractions and restaurants. The room was clean and comfortable but not a lot of extras to it. Bed and bedding were great. We had an excellent breakfast in the Wild Swann restaurant on site. We chose to park our car at a nearby garage for $22/day. It was a half block away.

Hotel was designed well and quiet and the staff was SO kind. We paid for river view king with no river view and the heater didn’t work in the room. Staff was kind enough to bring us a space heater. Sheets were not turned over even after 4 nights , and there was dust on lighting fixtures. Robe was not replaced either. We loved our stay but housekeeping can use some work and the heating and view issues should be resolved.

Our stay was very disappointing. The rooms are not appropriately sound-proofed (for interior or exterior noise). We heard all traffic noise, as well as other guests in an adjoining room, during the middle of the first night of our stay. Based on other upgrades to the hotel's interior, it was very disappointing to see that the hotel did not invest in appropriate sound proofing/insulation. We informed the hotel about the issue in our specific room, however, they could not guarantee that a different room would resolve the problem. We ultimately had to change hotels for the second night of our stay due to this noise issue. We are awaiting a refund of the second night given that we checked out before 1 pm.

The hotel is beautiful and has a great history. Which is one of the reasons we wanted to stay there. The staff and location was excellent. The rooms where nice and spacious. But, the floors were dirty. I had to throw out 4 pairs of socks. Each time I walked around the room my socks where black from all the dirt. The bathroom also needs a bit of upkeep. There was rust on the corners of the shower and some of the tiles where cracked by the shower handle. With this hotel being only open for 4 yrs I thought the rooms would have been in better condition.

The room was wonderfully decorated and clean, and the shower was amazing. Service was also great: Linda shlepped up a flight of stairs at 10 PM to get an extra coffee for me, and Kevin at the front desk was consistently friendly and professional. Wild Swann, the hotel restaurant, has both great food and drinks; I highly recommend the Beet Salad. If you get Travis as your bartender, you are in for a treat: this guy should be a comedian. I will definitely stay here the next time I'm in Louisville.
