We loved this quirky boutique hotel located on a tree lined street near the waterfront. The lobby was small, bright, and cheerful and had a small area for dining. The staff were welcoming and competent. The room was relatively large for an urban hotel with a king bed, desk, and sitting area. WIfi was great! The bathroom arrangement was unique without much privacy which we expected from previous reviews. The size of the room and ambiance made up for it. A single panel slid to close either the shower or the toilet. Towels and bedding were high quality and we had a view of the outdoor pool below. We could have used luggage racks (ended up placing luggage on the floor) and some hooks near the shower as there was no place to drape your clothes or hand your towel when showering. We definitely would return and think it would be great for a longer stay.

Love coming to Ohtel, the location is amazing as it is really central but the road it is located on makes it feel like a really quiet part of the city. The pool is great too with an awesome view of the sky tower. Highly recommend.

First time staying at Ohtel and would definitely be back! Great service and experience during our entire stay. We got upgraded to a suite which was great. Conviniently located in the viaduct with great amenties such as the gym/sauna/pool. Liked how quiet it was as well.

Stayed for two nights, This hotel is located near the viaduct with safe parking. The staff were excellent and let me park my car earlier than my check in time. They also upgraded our room and it was fabulous. Very well decorated , clean and nice. The bed was super comfy. They have a heated outdoor pool and gym which was delightful. There is also espresso and tea in the room that is complementary. definitely recommend staying here when staying in Auckland!

I enjoyed the unique design of the room, the hotel was perfectly located close to the city, transparent, clubs and bars and the staff were fantastic. The reason why I gave 3 stars was because of a noisy aircon duct outside my room which sounded as if a freight train was going through my room, at 5am it's not pleasant. I did bring up the issue with management who offered to put me into another room but said you may encounter the same issue. Hope management addresses the noisy duct as it had a major impact on the quality of my stay

Gorgeous, very clean, accessible and super comfy hotel with lots of amenities (premium toiletries, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and you can even order a specialty pillow ?!). The beds were so comfortable and having a heat pump in the room was a really nice touch.

The toilet and shower door was glass with only part of it shaded so you could basically see and hear everything. We had a wonderful stay at Ohtel. It is 2min walk to Viaduct Harbour. There are plenty of restaurants in the area and a 24hr minimart nearby. The hotel room has very cheerful decor. We booked with breakfast which was delcious. The parking is secured parking underground. The pool and gym is shared facilities with a condo. Staff during check in and breakfast was pleasant abd professional.

This is a great location near the Viaduct and waterfront piers! Easy to walk places to eat and to catch the ferry to many of the islands. The rooms are a little funky (bathtub in living room!), but the bed was comfortable and we had plenty of space to relax! Service was great! The room had Nespresso maker and easy-to-use milk foamer/steamer and milk and pods were complimentary. I had read that parking was free in some reviews, but that was not the case for us. Was very convenient, but not cheap ($32NZ/night). The staff were super friendly and helpful! Highly recommend this small hotel in the midst of big buildings and large chain hotels.

Quirky 70s style decor was interesting. Only downside was the noise from revellers walking past late at night due to our front facing room. Also toilet, shower, sink arrangement in the room was a bit strange and lacked privacy.

This is our second time staying at this hotel. The location can't be beat - on a pretty, leafy one-way street just steps from the harbor and lots of restaurants, cafes and shops. It's also a short walk from several rental car offices and the intercity bus station.

I loved the kitsch retro decor throughout the hotel and rooms. The location is AMAZING - across the street from the port and all the cool restaurants and action. The staff is SUPERB! - super-friendly, accommodating and attentive. I would HIGHLY recommend this property!!!

What a fab location. Just by the gorgeous Viaduct Harbour area. Staff really helpful with check in and parking. Room a good size and with decent air con and coffee machine. Layout with shared sliding door for shower and toilet was a bit weird but we got used to it.

We loved the mid century décor and the staff were excellent and the location could not have been better. Although you had to pay for parking it was great to be able to park right at the hotel. Easy walk to the viaduct and the ferry's etc. Loved having the huge bath in the bedroom that was cool. However the toilet had a glass door. although the middle section was blocked out no one wants to see their partners feet when they are in the toilet. also there was one door for that and the shower which slid between them. This meant when you stepped out of the shower the door was wet and wet the toilet area so you had to mop that up. also there was no where to hang towels so each day you had to have a complete set of new towels which isn't something I like to do is quite environmentally unfriendly. I wouldn't choose to stay again because of the toilet/shower situation.

Best part of the stay is without a doubt the staff who are super friendly and super helpful. Ohtel is described as a “boutique” hotel and in truth it feels that way though perhaps a little like a bed and breakfast in some ways with odd design choices and a little kitschy at times such as IKEA pieces and Anko cushions. The location is around 10-15 minutes to most places such as Sky City, One Queen Street, and next to the restaurants at the Viaduct. We stayed here post cruise and it was a short enough walk. We love our balcony room which was super spacious and the air conditioning cold and powerful. The “balcony” was a huge terrace however it is one without a view nestled between 3 walls and with other room windows facing us so we didn’t utilise it. The amenities were great, bed and pillow very comfortable. Housekeeping kept everything very spotless. There is enough said by others about Ohtel’s unique bathroom and toilet design, so I won’t repeat here, but the balcony room suffer less of the problem with the bath area to the side of the room (though yes the toilet is still enclosed by only glass ha ha)

This hotel is just around the corner from the Viaduct entertainment district but is soundproofed and quiet. The staff are friendly and accommodating, and the lounge area is great for a quiet drink. My only quibble was the \"design for designs sake\" glass walled shower and toilet in the rooms - there is a reason bathrooms are usually accessed by a door which can block out light, noise and smell from the other occupants.

It’s amazing hotel! Everything from fantastic location near Auckland marina to tasty egg Benedict for breakfast (extra) was above expectations. Stayed at Ohtel Wellington last week, this one has better furniture and design. Make sure you are ok with bathroom inserted in the room (behind math glass door). Staff was very helpful and gave a great suggestion for dinner - Oysters grill. Compared with big chain ***** hotels this one is so much more fun!
