My only issue with the hotel is when you take the shuttle from the airport they drop you off so far away from the lobby. You have to lug your luggage they a mall, which no one helps you. Then across the aquarium lobby and to the front desk. With 4 pieces of luggage and two of them at 30kg it’s not easy.

What a wonderful experience!

We were happy with the service of Chloe when we checked in at MGM Macau. She even arranged breakfast boxes in the early morning because we tried to catch our flight at 7am. I will definitely return there next time.

5star service!! Amazing Well trained staff. Got an upgraded to one of those villa suite. The room was amazing with breathtaking surrounding view. Perfect location. Walking distance to one central mall for great shopping and very easy commute to all the tourist spot. two thumbs up. Highly recommended !!!!!

Total experience was terrible from the Macau ferry shuttle bus where we were dropped off on opposite side to reception then had to find our way through the enormous complex with little or no guidance from hotel employees.
I could continue to shore my entire awful experience however I feel management their deserves no more of my time. I suggest the Venetian I moved there and it was excellent.

Amazing Room and Views

Stayed here with my buddies for a bachelor party - was one of the nicest rooms I've ever stayed in. Staff was pleasant but clearly didn't care too much for a group of young guys since we definitely didn't look like \"ballers\" even though we were staying in one of their multi-room suites. Overall, the room was very nice and well-appointed. I would definitely stay here again.

A Magnificent Hotel

My family and I went to Macau for 2 days after visiting our daughter who works at Disneyland in Hong Kong. We could not have been more impressed with our room, the hotel overall, its facilities and the wonderful staff.
The ABA Bar is also a great place within the hotel to meet friends, relax and catch up.

Large Casino Hotel, just ok

This hotel has everything, but at the same time it is so big that it becomes impersonal and requires lots of walking. The shuttle bus is convenient for the casino, but totally inconvenient for overnight stay. Taxis are difficult to find, directions within the hotel and the adjacent mall are also scarce and in many cases misleading. Nothing really wrong, but certainly not a 5 star experience.

MGM In Macau + Wonderful.

The Hotel itself was first class but the gaming area lacked a little atmosphere compared to other Casino's i have been in.
Also the Restaurants in the hotel were a little disappointing. There wasn't a lot of variety to chose from compared to say the Crown or Venetian so in that respect I wouldn't stay there again.
But you couldn't fault the room or the staff.

The staff are 6 start and trained to perfection. I have stayed in more expensive hotels and received considerably less attention. The Airline lost my luggage for 36 hours and the staff could not perceivably been more helpful. I wish I could have tipped everyone from Bellboys to Hotel Manager. Well done MGM Grand ... take a bow.

The receptionist is very friendly, but very slow and mess up the rooms arrangement. Recommend that they need a bit more training before serving guests in the front line.

One thing worth to mention is that 2 of our twin Grand ocean view bedrooms got free upgrade to 2 bedrooms suit, as our family booked in total 5 grand ocean view rooms, the receptionist said it is as a gesture of goodwill that I'm staying here again.

Almost a magnificent hotel

One of the grand hotels in Macau. I enjoyed seafood so much, this stay I came across a special brunch offered on Saturday and Sunday. A selection of brunch sets provided wide range of fresh seafoods at a very attractive price. And a wide range of wines to match foods at a good price.
The only bad feeling brought to me was the service of the gym room. After checking out, I asked them providing me for taking a shower in their changing room, but refused by the gym room receptionist. It's the first time I was rejected for taking a shower in a first class hotel.

Fantastic Hotel with comfy beds and awesome pool

The hotel has a beautiful pool which is not crowded with kids during my time there. A lovely place to relax and wind down during the day. The patisserie serves some of the best pastries in Asia. The cakes are delicate, dainty and divine. We managed to try five different ones and I wish we could try them all. The high tea from their cafes are just as good! The casino is not as crowded so it's nice for amateur gamblers like myself. Not intimidating at all. Nice spacious room with a huge bathroom. Beds were really comfy and the complimentary drinks in the fridge was much appreciated on a hot summers day!

However, with that said, there are little things that could be improved. One of the main one is that our room had a faint smell that lingered around (likely that the previous guest was a smoked). We spoke to reception but all they could do was send someone up to spray air freshener which did not last during our stay. Also, currently, MGM only includes free transport to the ferry terminals, unlike the Venetian which includes free shuttle to other hotels/casinos. It's not the end of the world.

it was my first time to stay here even if I have been to Macau many times when I used to stay at Lisaboa, Mandarin and Wynn. Hotel room was very clean and nice and have an excellent sea view with high floors. Overall, it is quite nice , 5 star hotel , however , please note the following : 1) I stayed at non-smoking room, but it smells a lot of smoking in the corridor since I reckon many people staying at the same floor may somke at thier room. 2) The staffs at buffet restaurant at 1st floor, was very blunt and unkind with no smile at all ( I was wondering if they fight from early morning !). Nevertheless, the coffee and desert were very nice. 3) I tried the French restaurant at 1st floor for dinner and the taste was quite excellent and I strongly recommend to try dinner set menu if you like French or Italian food. Overall, hotel was quite nice. ...

Great location and value

When I went I paid a little extra for the Grand Studio and it was worth it. There are only 2 of those rooms available per floor (on each side) but given the space and amenities it is a great deal. The hotel is in walking distance of all of the historic sites. Moreover the front desk staff is very helpful. They also have a list of popular locations (in English, Chinese, Portuguese) on a small piece of paper that you can give to taxi cab drivers. I was not overly impressed with the restaurants on-site, but you are in walking distance of many options.

MGM Macau suited our needs quite nicely for our first trip to Macau. The hotel was in good, clean condition, well decorated, and welcoming. The casino is split into non-smoking and smoking sections, with the better action in the smoking section (as the predominantly Asian clientele tend to smoke). The gaming is OK - mostly Baccarat, some Roulette, Sic Bo, but only a few tables of Black Jack and Craps. It's hard to get a drink on the gaming floor beyond water or tea, as drinking and gambling do not go hand-in-hand in Macau as they would in Vegas. The location is convenient for visiting other casinos on Macau island, as well as exploring central Macau. Free shuttles take you to the more distant casinos, Cotai island, ferry terminal to Hong Kong, etc. I would definitely stay here again, although for a second visit I would likely target Cotai.

Best hotel room I have ever had

Okay, so we were upgraded to a suite as it was my birhday, so I cannot comment on the standard rooms. However, the suite was amazing. Views over the water, 2 huge bedrooms (one double, one twin), 2 amazing bathrooms win jacuzzi baths and large showers (bath in twin room was right next to window, overlooking the water) and a half bath. Large living room, small kitchenette. Lots of cool gadgets, a coffee machine and wardrobes bigger than I have at home. Service was great, we ate at the French restaurant which was lovely. Casino felt a little grubby and was very smokey (full of mainland Chinese people who smoke like chimneys). But the Wynn casino over the road is much nicer and right next door. Free shuttle from the ferry terminal and hotel within walking distance of the old part of town. My husband travels a lot for work and spends half his life in hotels, even he said it was the nicest hotel room he has ever seen.

arrived super late but we got an upgrade to a two bedroom villa which was 380 sq meters in size for two! we were jumping around in excitement as we explored the vast room. it was gorgeous beyon words. staffs were very helpful and friendly. they host an octoberrfest every october and its the happening place to be. class A, great service! defntly lives up to its standrds. our stay was memorable beyond words. thanx MGM.

The Restaurants were amazing. I would not rate this hotel 5 star. booked a larger studio room which was disappointing in size. Didn't feel luxiourious, one doona and sparse pillows which we had to ask for more and an extra doona as we were freezing. No robes, which we asked for then they disappeared the next day when our room was cleaned. After cleaning the room they left the dirty coffee/glassess everywhere in room and did not replenish mini bar or coffee... We were very happy with the restaurants and staff there but would not return to the MGM would probably stay at the Wynn next time which should be 5 star...

Peaceful oasis in sea of casinos at Macao

We chose Mandarin Oriental Macau based on reviews at Trip Adviser.
It's located next (west) to MGM, tall skinny building with a slant on top.
Rooms look out to the sea or a lagoon facing the Macau Tower.

Compared to other 5 star hotels around the world...
Including reader's choice Four seasons' in Hawaii, Pelican Hill in Southern California and others around the world...

The hotel is much smaller than the Mega casino hotels in the area like the MGM and Wynn right next door.
So the service staff is able to remember your name and provide very personal service. No Casino but full service spa including personal rooms. You can walk over to the MGM Casino through the joining upscale, designer mall. Or you can walk outside to the Wynn and to the dancing fountain that performs every quarter hour. Smaller than Las Vegas but with balls of flame and lights.
Outdoor heated, infinity Pool and Jacuzzi located on, around 3rd floor facing south overlooking the ocean between Macau and Taipa. Fitness center is also located next to the pool.

Rooms were Nice and modern but furniture was laminated wood. The LCD TV was as expected but the sound system was very lacking. 2 small tweeters with a subwoofer, not the premium sound system you expect from the best hotels in the world.
Bed was soft with firm core. Western type, not Chinese hard.
Nice big pillows, comfortable sitting chairs, walk in shower, bathtub, vanity all at level of a 5 star hotel.

Restaurant was very good but I don't think they serve breakfast. You can certainly order from the 24 hour menu but I think it was expected that you order breakfast to your room. Which we did and enjoyed very much. Very easy, well priced, and a lot of food. Quality was as expected. We found Pastry in Macau to be western standard, not the bland and lacking Chinese standard so we over indulged.

We enjoyed the hotel very much even though it isn't quite up to the BEST 5 star hotel standard because it was smaller with no Casino. Unlike other larger casino hotels like the Galaxy, Venetian, MGM, Wynn with crowds of gawking tourist taking pictures of everything, Mandarin Oriental was upscale, personal and very service oriented.
I'm not sure how good the Four seasons is on the southern island, but because of the better location and almost Four Seasons level of service I think it's the better choice.

We are middle aged so we like to walk and found most tourist attractions within walking distance. We even walked to the fountain, Observation Tower, A-Ma temple and the Fisherman's Wharf. (Why they call it fisherman's wharf, I have no idea. There are no fisherman, no fish markets in that area.)

Hotels are very experienced based. You really don't know what you don't know. So to somebody who never stayed at a 5 star hotel, this place might be the best experience of their life. To a seasons international traveler, who stays at the Ritz and other 5 star hotels, the low quality sound system and laminated furniture to be unacceptable.
But at the price level we paid. It was one of the best.

MGM casino in Macau

This hotel was one of the best experience I had in a foreign country from the time of check in to check out of this hotel. The concierge personnel were the best. Since I didn't speak Cantonese nor Portuguese, I went down daily and showed the concierge where my party and I wanted to go. They wrote down the place in Chinese for me. I gave this to the taxi driver and/or bus driver (depending how we wanted to get there) and we always got to our destination w/out any problems. I only have one negative comment to make and if it weren't for this, I'd give a \"5\" for hotel service. My husband and I went to the buffet side of the hotel's Chinese restaurant (sorry, can't remember the name of the restaurant). We asked the waitress for water and she didn't bring us any water. We waited and then asked again but still no water. I knew she understood us since the table who came in after us asked for water and she got them water right away. Plus, the restaurant wasn't very busy since we had gone there shortly before midnight for a late snack after gambling in their casino.

Very nice welcome at check in desk, process of check in was smooth and fast, room ready when we checked in at 4PM. Check out was similarly smooth, no queue, same person for check out, made personal comments. Nice experience.

MGM macau - good location, good service

The rooms are very big and comfortable. Minibar for free. Very good breakfast. We were surprised to see that the pool is closed, since we were sure it's heated and open in winter. Location is good not far away from the center of macau but the casinos seem to be better in taipa area which is far but you have bus shuttles for free all day

5 star hotel with good service and room

When we came over to macau from hong kong, there was a staff at the macau ferry terminal who helped carried our luggage and brought us to the shuttle bus.

All the staff including the lobby reception and bellboy were wonderful and they were glad to attend to our needs and give us directions to places. Our room was upgraded free to a harbour view room and check out time extended to 1pm.

The room was huge and everything inside was great except that the bathtub sink wasn't really working so I couldn't soak in the bathtub.

Have enjoyed my stay very much. Staffs are most helpful and attended to our needs rather prompty. I have lost my keys to my luagge and hotel staff come to my rescue, really appreciate and grateful.
Front office staff also provide us useful information of where to go and where to shop.
I'll come back to stay in this hotel again when visit macau next time.

Awesome hotel bar with live music!!

Fantastic. Has a great bar (MGM Lions Bar) which is where all the beatiful Macau people go. Will definitely stay again.
