Sands Beach Resort is located in Costa Teguise and has direct access to the seafront promenade. It is just a few minutes' walk from the town center with its bars, restaurants, and shops.
The accommodation is spacious and comfortable, with six bedrooms, each with its own private pool, and facing the private beach. In the center of the private beach is an island where you'll find the Mai Tai Pool Bar and Restaurant next to a pool and the Lido Terrace with stunning ocean views.

Lovely resort but old fashioned shabby apartment. Pity, it could be really good if the owners cared about the condition and standard of the property. Tatty hole when an integrated microwave used to be for example, dirty shelf base, needs a clean and replacing.

I enjoyed a 5 night break at Sands. A little apprehensive due to several negative reviews however my experience was very positive. The rooms are a good size and have everything you need including full fridge freezer and dishwasher. The entire complex is very clean and is thoughtfully laid out. I enjoyed the lane swimming and the surrounding area is perfect for running. I also used the gym several times. Shops and restaurants are within a 5-10 minute walk. A shout out to all the staff, you are amazing.

I booked a Superior Apartment, 1 Bedroom, Beach View through Expedia. In reality, there is no beach in this area, so the description was misleading from the start.
The apartment itself was in unacceptable condition:
Dirty rooms and terrace.
Sofa so badly stained it was unusable.
Hot room with no proper ventilation – the back window could not be opened due to extremely loud pile-driving from nearby construction, and foul odors from rotting plants and animal excrement directly outside.
19 stairs to the apartment with no lift or assistance, which was not mentioned.
I reported these issues immediately and asked to cancel, but the receptionist, while friendly, was not helpful. I could not remain in the accommodation.
After a difficult process with Expedia, I eventually received a full refund, but only after repeated escalations.
Travelers should be aware: this property is run down, misrepresented, and not suitable for a comfortable stay.

Abit of noise from the building works opposite but hotel can not control that.

After a mix up with other accommodation we had to make an emergency booking on the day. So our experience of the hotel was brief. However it was also a very pleasant one. The service from the staff at check in was spot on and took very little time. The room was surprisingly large and had everything you would need. The bed was comfy and there was a bath as well as a shower which pleased the wife!! Overall we had a short but very pleasant stay, so i would recommend it.

Cleanliness was good daily. Rooms are incredibly dated & old fashioned (1990s), tv did not work, no aircon, cockroaches in apartment, patio doors insecure when locked. Food choice & quality was very poor (had to eat out & several friend very sick after food), restaurant didn’t accept card (who carries cash in 2024). Pool was freezing. Rooms not grassy on time. No bar to drink in. No atmosphere. Glad I stayed here as a base for sports because of I’d stayed just for a holiday I’d have been bored.

Was quite impressed with the facilities especially for the price I paid. The room (small apartment) was a generous size but the bed was very uncomfortable and the wind was noisy against the old windows. As was the beeping from machinery backing onto the property from the early hours. The room needs updating as not just were fixtures and fitting dates but some were leaky/loose. The balcony was a lovely space quite private. The layout was pleasant too and was quiet apart from the work behind the building.

Villas in poor condition . No air conditioning & very hot. Cockroaches at night. Leaflet about site said sunbeds free at MaiTai but weren’t. Cost 6Euros per day if a resident. Told reception many people were unhappy about that.

This was our first visit to the resort and I have to say we had a great time. The staff we lovely and the resort with lovely and clean. Our room could do with a little TLC but don't let that put you off. Definitely would go back as it's a great for familys. Thanks to everyone for making it such a great holiday.

The resort is quite tired in places, the apartments are of varying quality as many are privately owned, some of the bathrooms are very scruffy and need updating, no cleaning products in villas, crockery wasn’t very clean. The paint is peeling in main public walkways, no 24 hr reception, no porter assistance with luggage. The on site supermarket is well stocked, it is a pleasant walk along coastal path.

Stayed at sands many times via a private booking direct with owners, never had any issues as what you see is what you get, this time room was appointed by sands, room was very much I need of tlc, room was supposed to accommodate 6 people however only 3 forks, 4 knives etc, only a settee to seat 3 people, Sands need to spend some money on their refurbishment of their rooms or otherwise people will start to go elsewhere. It is a lovely location, staff are friendly and hardworking, lovely walk into the centre

Stayed 26 Nov - 01 Dec. No.56 Beachfront (with Seaview). Hotel Private beach was excellent as was on the doorstep, had loads of fish in it that swam up to you and were entertaining when you fed them with bread and the free use of Paddle Boards and Kayak was a bonus.
The apartment was nice and as advertised - Only issues we had were the mattress was a little uncomfortable (but that could be put down to personal preeference) and the lack of airconditioning.
The staff were helpful and courteous. We didn't use any of the restaurants so cant comment.
We used the Mai Thai Bar at the end of our firsr night, which was a Saturday, and we had a blast.
The hotel in general had a nice relaxed feel to it, was quite quiet which is expected at this time of year, and was nicely located away from the hustle and bustle.
Hammonds Sports Bar is right across the road from Reception. Hiperdino Supermarket is a further 5 minute dander and then the main areas of bars/restaurants are another 5 or so minute dander. These can be walked to via the seafront too but will take a little longer and if dark will require some sort of torch for a small section.
We would definitely recommend to others to come.........Enjoy!!

We were only here for one night. Our flight was delayed and we arrived so late it was dark and no one was available to help us take our bags to our rooms plus all the restaurants and shops were closed. I had four very tired hungry children and we got lost in the resort trying to find our room at the other side of the resort from the entrance. A bit of help would have gone a long way.
The hotel airport transfer was more than double the price of another on line transfer I booked.
And there’s only two sun loungers per room which is a pain when you are a party larger than two.
However the hotel was nice. The apartment was one of the smallest but a really good size. There were plenty of pools and we had a great time. We would definitely consider going again

No hot water all week we had to boil pans and kettles of hot water to put in the bath so we could wash.

Sands Beach is a nice place. I wouldn't say its a 4-star resort anymore, it would have been when it was built though. They will no doubt have been struggling due to the pandemic, however some aspects (quality) of my accommodation were a little disappointing and I feel that due it being quite quiet they could have put me in a better studio that got the sun more. The staff were nice and helpful.

Wasn't expecting much as I booked this very last minute but we loved it. Beautiful setting,gorgeous little lagoon and private beach, free sporting activities and lovely pool areas. Staff are very friendly and made such an effort for the new years eve party! Yes the room was a little dated but had everything you needed and was very comfortable and spacious. You really don't go on holiday to look at the furniture lol. Beds were comfortable, brand new TV with all main English channels (if you go on holiday to watch TV) but music on there too! Kitchen well equipped. Location was perfect with a lovely little walk into town.

Palmeras 11 was damp- there was condensation dripping down in the morning. Our clothes smelt fusty and felt cold/damp.

We enjoyed the stay. Our kids had great fun. We have been there a couple of times already and always had a good time. Some things I would like to change about it would be the beds, new and more comfortable beds are need. WiFi is slow and expensive. I don’t like that you have to pay for a sun bed by the pool and the entertainment isn’t the best but the staff were nice, cleaners came everyday and the food at the pool bar was really nice. I would recommend it.

We were given a run down room deliberately and asked if we wanted to upgrade to a better room when there were many many better rooms free, in an attempt to screw us for more money. The room had skylights which caused condensation to drip down us when using the kitchen and toilet, there were electrical items in the kitchen which when wet could cause death through electrocution. The \"Hacienda\" food was terrible and mostly inedible. On leaving the room on the first morning I slipped on the wet paths and but for falling against a wll could have suffered serious injury.

Reception staff were very friendly, as were the cleaners. One lady in the supermarket and one man in the bar weren't very pleasant but the rest of the staff we encountered were lovely. Apartments had everything you need and so conveniently located.

Amazing facilities but rooms could do with a serious revamp. We could see this was already happening in multiple apartments.

Very dated resort from the hotel room to the facilities around the complex. The main bed was very springy so didn’t get a decent nights sleep, the dining chairs and sofa were uncomfortable, old and dirty, the parasol was broken, the fridge/freezer setting dial was broken so we couldn’t freeze the ice creams, the kitchen tap was about to come off etc etc......the list goes on!! This hotel is no way a 4 star standard, more like 2/3 star. The on-site supermarket was pricey so we would would walk to the Hiperdino supermarket about a 5 min walk outside the front having discovered it ourselves. Also the WiFi access was a bit annoying as we paid £24 for a weeks access and was only limited to one login one gadget so we had to keep logging in and out between devices. The only thing we enjoyed was the Mai Tai restaurant, beautiful walk (but windy) along the coast, swimming pool and excursion trips organised by Rosemary who was very friendly and helpful, to see explore more of the beautiful island of Lanzarote.

Hotel is really nice. Lots of swimming pools so never too busy and always managed to find a sun lounger. The hotel is a short walk from the center but I would recommend bringing a stroller if travelling with young kids. The only downside is that the resort is always windy so I would try a different resort if this bothers you.

Lovely apartment on beach front, clean and spacious. Mai Tai food was inconsistent, good one day, not good the next - including cold in the middle chicken wings, but great for breakfasts, staff were lovely. However, I feel it’s wrong that guests have to pay for use of sun beds/shades around the pool. Hacienda food was very disappointing and expensive for a buffet (info given to us on arrival said buffet/a la Carte evening meals but buffet only) The Soleil bar was lifeless by 10pm with the definite impression that the staff were closing up even though they supposedly open until midnight. This meant in our 7nights stay we walked further down the road to the many other, better restaurants for 5 nights meals. Would also suggest anybody with mobility issues check where their apartment is due to the layout of the hotel

These apartments were a high standard for the price we paid, the standard of the complex as regards to cleanliness were excellent. We stayed in Plaza Verde where there was a lane pool, this worked well for us as we were staying without children and could enjoy a relaxed swim. The staff were extremly professional and we were very impressed at the value for money here. You could always find fault at any hotel so for us the bed could have done with a fitted sheet as the bottom sheet was a little small and you ended up sleeping on the mattress itself where the sheet kept moving during the night. We did not really attend the entertainment as we prefer to visit the town in the evening but we are sure it was perfect for families. The walk along the beach promenade is about 20mins gentle stroll so just right for arriving in the town square for a drink which was amazingly cheap. Beer 1.5 EURO and Wine 2.5 EURO

A short drive from the airport. The hotel is an excellent location, close to all local amenities. The main beach was only a five minute walk from the hotel. Local stores were easy to access. Top tip hire a car if you want to get around easily and relatively cheaply. The whole island is within reach and definitely worth exploring. In short a a great family holiday location.

Had heard some bad reviews but me and my family spent 10 days there at the beginning of June and thoroughly enjoyed the holiday. Rooms serviced daily, facilities in room excellent and we had a beach front apartment which had a beautiful view of the lagoon. Not much in the way of entertainment for the children on an evening but you can go into any of the other hotels and it meant there weren't hundreds of children running around our hotel! Will definitely return but would definitely get the beach front apartment again well worth the extra cost.

Beachfront villa no 51 is not on the beachfront!! It has a wall for a view so we moved. Also, the beachfront is not a real beachfront. Its a sandy cove in a man made lagoon. The beach is around 15-20 feet from start to the water edge so if you're expecting ocean, expect to be disappointed. That being said, for families with small children, this is an excellent way to have the sandy beach experience in relative comfort and safety. Beachfront thoroughly recommended for families with small children. For adults, stick to the pools!!

Beachfront Room 37 March 2012 - Excellent Time
Family with two young (6,3) boys - I was wary of a 'resort' but we have just had an excellent time. Particularly surprised just how quiet it was after 8pm, not a sound to be heard. Thoroughly recommend paying the little bit extra for a beachside apartment - we had 37 - as not only do you get the beach but absolutely noone overlooking you. One of the 7 pools was been renovated at the time of our stay - Mar 2012 - but 6 pools was plenty! My eldest loved his 'marathon' of 6 pools on the last day - finishing off by swimming through the waterfall at the Mai Tai pool. Two of the pools recently refurbed and spotless, one could do with a bit of paint but hardly a problem. Everywhere was kept spotless throughout. Free canoes, 'zorb' balls, table tennis etc. Fish swim in the manmade beach lagoon. Great crabbing just over the wall. Only had the breakfast once and was impressed - kids ate enough to keep going all day. Ate out in the evenings and recommend the Pasta Costa in nearby Costa Teguise - excellent fish as well as homemade pasta. Dishwasher a godsend. And towels plentyful and changed everyday. Shop had everything youd need including fresh warm bread in the morn. Overall an excellent holiday, has restrored my faith in resorts.

Enjoying the Sands Beach Resort
The Sands Beach Resort is very well kept and the staff are all very friendly and attentive and seem to take pride in keeping the resort immaculately clean. My only criticism would be of the bathroom facilities and the beds in the rooms which are of average quality.
There are many pools and a beach area and plenty of sunbeds available and it is a nice walk along the beachfront to the many bars and restaurants in the area. The outdoor facilities of the resort are great.

The room was awful. It smelt musty and dusty and generally dirty. The room was in dire need of a refurbishment. I did request clean blankets and quilts and got them. The bath was cracked (not great with a toddler) and there were cigarette burns in the furniture (despite it being a non smoking room). The resort has so much potential- amazing location and fantastic private beach. There was maintenance work being carried out while we were there so they are obviously making an effort however our room was 2* at most. I was so disappointed because we were told we had booked a \"superior\" room- the only superior thing about it was its overwhelming smell. Also walls so thin we often got woken up by noisy rowing guests at all hours of the morning 2am/4am. Hope we got our own back at 7am when our toddler woke up full of the joys of spring.
I wouldn't go back- nor would I recommend. My own fault really- I was trying to get a cheap deal- I should know by now, you get what u pay for!' but I was so taken in by all the good reviews on trip advisor!! You win some you lose some!!

Sands at Half Term
We selected the Sands through the mostly positive reviews, and were not disappointed. Our superior 1 bed apartment was spacious and well equiped. There was a double bedroom, pull down double bed in the lounge, and a separate double sofa-bed. The room was airy with a nice pitched roof, and the terrace opened out onto one of many pools, with a views over the sea. The resort has it's own lagoon and beach, and sits next to the beach proper. It's in a fairly quiet location about 10mins walk from the centre of the resort. The hotel was well maintained and our room cleaned daily, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. The only slight disappointment was the quality of food in the main restaurant, where the buffet was run-of-the-mill, so would not recommend booking the inclusive meals option. There are however, plenty of decent, good value restaurants within 10-15 mins walk. The 2 on-site bars were good, but there are also plenty in the resort if you get bored! A hire car is not necessary, but useful if you want to explore the island without taking an organised tour.

Great time had, nothing to moan about. Did not try the onsite restaurant but the Mai Tai pool bar was great. Loads of places to eat in town. We stayed at the beach front appat which were great and had enough room for a family of 4.
