The staff was amazing. I traveled in February, consider winter in Spain and the room was hot, the AC was not activated. When i open the window i could not sleep well due to the noise, the gace a busy street and it was ongoing noise. Not a very pleasant experience.

Start with the positives. Bed was comfortable and room was clean. Location is excellent. However…

This isn’t a 5* hotel at all, more like a 3* hotel.
Rooms are dark, and - because of the excellent location near the cathedral - it is noisy, well into the night. The lift doesn’t always work. Not enough toilet roll or towels. Rooftop bar is difficult to access. Spa access is impossible - what the small print doesn’t say is that there’s no indoor pool and spa access must be pre booked and only one room can use it at a time. For our whole stay of one week we couldn’t access the spa as it was ‘fully booked’. The rooftop pool is small and not well maintained (as with other parts of the hotel)
Public bathrooms are not too clean.

The photos on the website are very well edited!
Wouldn’t recommend a stay here, save money and stay elsewhere as it is a very walkable city so cathedral area is easily accessible.

Detailed List of Contractual Breaches:
Infrastructure Failures: For at least 4 hours, there was no hot water in the room. The TV and Internet (essential for a 5-star stay) were non-functional throughout the duration.
Health & Safety / Maintenance: The SPA was in a state of disrepair. The steam room ceiling is peeling off, with debris falling on guests. The indoor pool was cold (even though celebrated and presented as thermal circuit, and the rooftop pool was unsanitary.

Fitness Facilities: The gym was largely out of order. Only the ergometer functioned; the multi-press is broken.
Misrepresentation of Services (The \"Romantic Package\"): We were charged €50 for a \"romantic room setup\" which consisted of plastic rose petals strewn carelessly. This does not meet the standard of a luxury hotel and constitutes a lack of \"assured characteristics.\"
Professionalism: The massage service (~ €110) was significantly below the professional standard of a 5-star spa.

The accumulation of these defects constitutes a significant diminution in the value of the travel package. According to European consumer protection standards and the Spanish Código Civil, I am entitled to a price reduction proportional to the loss of utility.

My Demand:
I hereby request a total refund of €550 (representing a ~30% reduction of the base price plus a full refund for the misrepresented \"Romantic Package\" and the substandard SPA services).

The staff were amazing, from the front desk, bar staff, restaurants and cleaners, all brilliant.

We had a problem.with our 1st room, and we were moved as soon as an alternative was found, a couple of hours or so. The room.was very spacious and clean.

The location is fab for a first timer to Seville as lots of key sites and and bars and eateries all very close by. But maybe rather for 2/3 days, after a week we realised it was incredibly busy and noisy area.

The only reason i did not give 5 stars was the noise - our room was above a busy restaurant and pastry shop and opposite the cathedral, whose bells time all night long and the sound proofing wasnt good.

Would i stay again, yes i would, maybe for a couple of nights and i would ask for a room on the other side of the hotel.

Firstly the location was excellent. We walked everywhere and the maximum walking time for us to get somewhere was 15 minutes. Other than that the staff was outstanding, helped us with everything we needed and they never fail to put a smile on our faces. The rooms and the hotel was really clean and modern. The terrace bar was astonishing with the views of the Cathedral. Overall it was a pleasure for us to stay there and would definitely recommend it to anyone who’s going to Seville.

The location was perfect. Our room was overlooking the Catedral de Seville. All main sights are within walking distance, averaging 10 minutes, with the cathedral and alcazar 1 and 2 minutes away. Lots of great small restaurants with amazing food nearby and reasonable prices. We loved being able to return to the room for short breaks, outfit changes or bathroom stops without disruptions to our day.
We had booked the suite with view as we were traveling with our adult children. This consists of two rooms with their individual bathrooms.
The main suite is spacious with separate bathroom and seating areas. The second room which is a standard room is a bit tight and had no closet, and very little room to get around the bed. Since we were mostly out and about and only returned to sleep, this did not pose a real issue for us.
Rooms were very clean (and we are picky). Bathroom was very clean and sinks are separate - more efficient when getting ready.
A couple of things to note: 1) the TVs were not connected to anything other than displaying a welcome message. It would have been good to have it for end of day but no major impact as we wanted to maximize our sightseeing time. 2) storage space is limited: only one closet with two small drawers in the suite and no closet or dresser in the standard room. 3) wifi was good for texting but a bit spotty for streaming.
Last but not least: very friendly and helpful staff. Thanks for your care during our stay, Maria, Antonio and everyone!

We had an amazing stay at EME Catedral Mercer Hotel in Seville! From start to finish, the service was top notch. The staff were incredibly kind, attentive, and welcoming, the manager even reserved us a table at their beautiful rooftop terrace, which offers absolutely breathtaking views.
One of the highlights was the pool that overlooks the cathedral such a unique and peaceful spot to relax, especially at sunset. The location of the hotel couldn't be better, right in the heart of the city with everything within walking distance.
Our room was excellent: stylish, comfortable, and immaculately clean. Every detail was thoughtfully taken care of, and we felt truly looked after throughout our stay.
Highly recommended for anyone visiting Seville we’ll definitely be back!

I upgraded my room to a suite with a view. The first day was great. The two fallowing nights the room was not clean with glass still at the floor from a broken bottle. When we got at the hotel at 6:00 pm the next day I requested for the room to be clean because there was still glass on the floor. They came and clean the room and left the floors wet and because the door was wet I suffer a horrible fall hitting my head and lower back. I couldn’t seat or walk. They can careless!!! I requested a refund of this two nights. They ruin my vacations. I have a bruise in my back and suffer a concussion. They can careless and told me that I book a room with no refund policy... really??! Is not the money is the principle that they can careless and they will get away with bad service. I needed to delay my trip one week because I can’t seat. Hotels can get away with substandard conditions because they will not be accountable. This is a top hotel in the area and I was in one of their best rooms. I’m a physician and have severe osteoporosis so I know this is the beginning of a long painful recovery and they can careless. My mother and daughter trip was ruin!!! HORRIBLE!!! Do not stay in this hotel! Sevilla was 104F and their AC was not working and the rooms were not clean. Is incredible!!

My husband and I chose to stay at the EME Catedral Mercer hotel for our week long stay in Seville for our wedding. The service was impeccable- the staff was so attentive to our needs and the many many many needs of over 25 other guests we had staying at the hotel. They helped us coordinate a private brunch on one of the roof terraces and also helped us with some transportation. We were also able to seamlessly store our luggage and my wedding dress with the hotel while we were gone for a few nights on our honeymoon, and then returned back to stay in Seville for one more night. All of the staff was incredibly friendly and personable and could not recommend staying here enough! Beautiful views, perfect location, and truly stunning rooms and accommodations. We cannot say thank you enough!!

The stay was amazing starting with the welcome and introduction at the lobby. We were given coffee and water and the lobby smelled amazing as we waited for our room. All of the staff were exceptional and attentive to our needs. The views from the rooftop bar were terrific and the drinks and atmosphere were lively.

We stayed here through the Spain national power outage and even that did not dampen our stay as we spent time in the rooftop pool.

The rooms are comfortable and elegant, but really the team of people working here made the stay special.

we were at the property during the Easter celebrations. Therefore, the location of the property was excellent as we could see all the processions either from the rooftop the lobby or in front of the hotel entrance. The rooms are very big, but if you have a room that is facing the side streets, the lighting level is low and it can be improved. I think the hotel staff that works at the reservation desk can really improve in terms of their knowledge of the surroundings. Anytime you ask a question they’re not sure if a restaurant is open or it’s closed most of the time the answer is they’re booked.
When we asked him how to get tickets to the Alcazar they said it’s all sold out till May. However, we found out if he can go an hour or two early standing in line you can get tickets which we did while I was standing at the desk, another tourist was asking the same question And the desk staff was saying oh it’s sold out until May. I’m very sorry. I told the tourist no that’s not the case you can go stand in line and be able to get tickets the next morning while I was walking out of the hotel same guest turned over to me and said thank you very much. We were able to go early and get tickets. Not sure how many English speaking guess the hotel has, but I think staff can improve their English as well there are lots of good restaurants around the hotel so I suggest try them whereas the hotel restaurant or even the bar is not that exciting overall the location is great

The hotel’s location was great, but that’s about it. Our stay started poorly when we were given a room without a shower, though they did upgrade us to a larger room (fourth floor). However, it was right below a noisy terrace bar, and the room wasn’t soundproof.

The gym was small, outdated, and not well-maintained. The spa was even worse—we paid €60 per massage plus €25 for spa access, only to be rushed out after 30 minutes without prior notice. The hotel refused to offer any reimbursement.

Accessing the gym and spa was inconvenient, requiring guests to step outside—even in the rain—to reach a separate elevator. The layout felt poorly designed and hazardous.

Staff engagement was minimal unless we were complaining. Overall, the hotel felt overpriced and more like a 3-star than a 5-star. We wouldn’t recommend staying here.

Our second stay in the EME Mercer in 6 months, this time returning with our daughters. Upgraded to the penthouse rooms which was a fantastic surprise with amazing views of the Cathedral and city skyline. The staff at this hotel are fantastic, so accommodating and kind. The reception staff are helpful and the breakfast team great remembering drinks and food orders after only two mornings. We love Seville and I would not stay anywhere else now. We look forward to returning!

This hôtel is classes as a 5*
It isn’t!!!
Although very well situated in front of the Cathedral it can’t be classed as a Five Star for the following reasons.
1. Thé noise is far too present not to notice. The Sky bar which is very nice brings hundreds of people into the hôtel who are not sleeping there. From the rooms thé noise is frankly just too much.
2. À five star hôtel has no or very very few faults. Thé hôtel is a little tired visually and needs a complete paint job
3. Cracked tiles, worn seals around thé bath, and various “problems” around the room categorise the hitel at best as a 4*
So, due to its location it served us wéll and was perfectly comfortable but the 5* are definitely not justified.

Amazing location with direct view of the cathedral and walking distance to lot of hot spots &dining. Breakfast served every morning and was delicious. Staff was very friendly and professional. Rooftop bar is a great bonus!

* Location: 5 star
* Property: 4 or maybe 3.5 star (not saying it is bad, but is rated as 5-star everywhere and it just is not; it should be changed)
* Convenience: 5-star (right next to the Cathedral, 200 m from the Alcazar, plenty of dining and bars all around)
* Noise: 3-star (does get noisy and stays that way late into the night; And the cathdral’s massive bell tolls non-stop for like 5 minutes every hour!!)
* Staff: 3-star (not friendly, very business-y)
* Breakfast: 4-star (nice small spread, with made-to-order eggs)
* Rooftop: Nice bar with beautiful views of cathedral and surroundings!
* Overall: 3.5 star
