This is a beautiful property set in the caldera of Santorini. The rooms are built into the cliff. The service is amazing. The views are amazing. The food was amazing.

So why the two stars? Reject Rooms 38 and 39. Don’t accept them if they put you there. Every tourist on the island will be at your doorstep. These two rooms are situated at the bottom of stairs that are near a public area. While they have a rope there to deter the tourists from walking down to take photos, it doesn’t work. The tourists simply remove the rope and come down right in front of your room gate to take photos. I complained several times to the hotel about this. It was such a colossal nuisance that ruined my serene stay and views.

I paid over ten thousand dollars for 3 nights so I shouldn’t have to deal with every tourist on the island taking a photo in front of my room. This is NOT a cheap hotel so I should have high expectations of the property. It is affiliated with The Four Seasons. Other hotels have gates blocking the stairs coming down to the hotel. But not Katakies. So everyone took advantage of the rope that was too easy to remove. They offered to move us but couldn’t guarantee that we would be together. We opted not to move because we were traveling as a family and wanted to be near each other and were already unpacked.

Also, for Room 39, you would need to climb a set a stairs to access your hot tub which is at the same level as the tourists. So the tourists are watching you. It’s awful.

We were welcomed at reception so eagerly and taken down to our suite by the young charming concierge! We were introduced to all the functions available in the room…. The quality of the products used was exquisite. Beautiful quality sheets and pillows. Sparkling swimming pools around the property. And for those aging folks, a set of elevators. Breakfast was scrumptious with fresh ingredients. Staff were polite and obliging. Our stay was wonderful….. the view….. ahhhhhhh!!

Disappointing. Expensive but not worth it.
A guy nocked on our door at 7:40 to clean…. Crazy. The room cleaning was terrible. Very dirty. The room condition and amenities were OK at best. Breakfast was OK but not amazing. The stuff was just not good and not train. For that kind of hotel and price you should get better. Much better.

The rooms and property were so clean, there were strong winds during our time there and everything was fixed up very quickly. We had very high expectations for Katikies Oia but unfortunately this resort fell short. From a 5 star resort you would expect immaculate rooms and service but both of these were underwhelming. The rooms felt dated and had several maintenance issues such as leaking air conditioning and broken lights in the hot tub. Turn down service was inconsistent, you had to constantly ask for it. The service at the pools were practically nonexistent. You couldn’t order a drink without waiting over an hour. The best thing this property has going for it are the location and stunning views. I would not return.

Fabulous stay at a smaller, intimate hotel with one of the most beautiful views in the world, of the caldera of Santorini. Ceilings way too low

Given the price it is the worst hotel I've probably ever stayed at for the simple reason that the ceiling in the room is absurdly low with white paint, bad lighting, and no warning sign or verbal warning so I hit my head multiple times even though I'm only average height at 5'10\" which is ridiculous. I also submitted hotels.com feedback about this but they didn't followup nor was I offered an upgrade or spa discount like I think I was maybe supposed to be given my hotels.com status. Housekeeping also wasn't perfect but not a big problem. The low ceiling is a huge problem and made the stay very uncomfortable.

We had high expectation of this prestigious hotel. However, The best part of the experience was only airport shuttle service, luggage staff, and also the Botrini restaurant in the hotel. Everything else fell short of a 5 star hotel standard. The concierge was luke warm when we asked for recommendations. The hand wash bottle dispenser in the room was not even refilled upon we got into the room. The hotel provides one large bottle of water for free per day. I asked for a new one in the morning and I was asked to wait till the evening, as evening is the only time for free replenishment. After two nights, we moved to a second hotel nearby, though only 3.5 star hotel, it was a fantastic experience, better room, better view, better service, better rate.... In a nut shell, will not stay at Katikies Santorini hotel again and do not recommend it.

Stunning hotel, average room.

This is a very classy hotel in a good location at the beginning of the tourist path into Oia, so out of the hustle and bustle. The infinity pools are wonderful with stunning views of the Caldera. The service was great: friendly, helpful and efficient. Breakfast was delicious with so much choice. Our room was disappointing, considering the cost; it was large, clean and bright with a huge bathroom with jacuzzi bath and the bed was comfortable. There was a little terrace with sun beds but it wasn’t totally private, as rooms above could look down onto it, as is the way with many of the hotels in Santorini because they’re built into the cliff side. And so, though pleasant, it just didn’t have the wow factor that I was expecting. A little tip: don’t bother jostling with the crowds to see the sunset from the end of Oia, see it anywhere along the Caldera between Oia and Imerovigli - it’s just as good.

The layout of the property was like no place I have ever been, which may be typical of other properties on the cliff. Walking up and down steps is an absolute, so be prepared. This is not intended to be a negative - it is indeed part of the charm. After dark ambience of the property coupled with the view of the oia cliffside was romantic and calming beyond anything words can describe.
