The hotel is a luxury resort located in the northwest tip of Santorini Island, in the extraordinary settlement of Oia (Ia). The resort is situated on a unique location as it is built on the side of a cliff, overlooking the mysterious Caldera.
The 17 th century canaves have been modified, carved into the rock, into elegantly designed suites and decorated in the traditional island style with antique furniture and objet d'art. Beautiful property with the best views in Oia. Secluded yet easily accessible to all restaurants and shops nearby, including the iconic Oia Blue Dome Church. Amazing service with staff that is courteous and takes pride in their work. The room was exceptionally clean with daily turn service. We stay at many 5star hotels and this one tops them all.

This hotel is pure joy! From the dreamiest location, beautifully manicured grounds, the perfect suites with the most amazing views/top tier room comforts to the staff: they manage customer service as a finely tuned instrument: they surprised us at every turn from a keepsake welcome gift, scheduling transport, the onsite dining option was superb, reservations for local activities, turndown service included sweets & setting your slippers in front of the bed, they were delightful in every interaction from a simple ice bucket to ensuring the perfect temperature for swimming, they went above and beyond to make sure all was going as planned or better. Truly an unforgettable stay ! We are already planning to return!

Hotel is located at the start of the caldera so it is perfectly quiet and easy to get to. It is convenient if you rent a vehicle as parking is right across the street. But it is also a five minute walk to the Oia square.

Wow! What a stunning and beautiful hotel. The interiors and design are to a high quality and let’s not forgot about the most amazing view of the caldera and sea. The staff are amazing, they are on a 5 star service level. The what’s app messaging service we used all the time, saves you having to go to reception and they are available to chat 24/7. The breakfast areas were lovely, the great options to suit everyone’s tastes. The restaurant was amazing!! The pool area was lovely with comfortable loungers and the swim up bar was perfect for the hot days. The location is perfect , in walking distance into the main part of Oia which makes it peaceful and away from the busy areas.
The only little negative was the room just didn’t seem to flow and wasn’t comfortable in terms of getting ready, with no plugs beside mirrors, surfaces to put things on. And also lacked seats on our outside balcony to sit as a couple and take in the sea views.
But we did get a lovely upgrade on our last night which was very special and the honeymoon suite was very nice and spacious and felt more comfortable than our other room.
Overall we had a magical stay and would highly recommend!

I travel a lot, and this resort tops the list. Spectacular view, perfect plunge pool on our patio, excellent food and drink, beautiful modern aesthetic inside and out, great shower. Best part was the great hospitality from the moment we were picked up at the airport, until checkout. Shopping was a short walk away. Very quiet location on the edge of town.

Stunning property and views. We didn’t like how difficult it was to find the hotel or parking. Clear instructions should be given on the process of finding the property in order to check-in. I had an incredible stay at this hotel - in fact, this is my first hotels.com review but I felt the need to comment! The staff is incredibly nice and professional and welcoming and the breakfast/meal views are literally incredible of the caldera and the ocean views. The pool is great (it would be great if the main pool was heated though, but the pool experience is still great) and the breakfast was amazing. The individual heated pools on the terraces of the rooms are great - they are heated so they are more like jacuzzis. I had an incredible massage and spa experience at the Canaves Oia Suites hotel next door, which is where they take place. Highly recommend this hotel!! So quiet, relaxing, and beautiful. It was perfect for a couples trip.

The hotel is immaculate along with their staff! They went above and beyond to make my honeymoon spectacular. Right in the heart of Oia there were plenty of restaurants and boutiques to visit … although it was hard to leave the pool and resort. Only negative was the beds were slightly hard and the drinks were pretty expensive ($20-30 per drink). The food was absolutely delish, and we would highly recommend!

I’ve stayed at plenty of 5 star resorts, this tops them all by a long shot. I would literally have paid double for this place. The staff was so friendly and incredibly helpful. John, the hotel manager, is an amazingly helpful person. Gave us his personal what’s app number and helped us procrastinators secure very desirable and hard to get reservations at ideal times. The views from this hotel are breathtaking. The breakfast, which is included, will ensure you’ll never want to leave. We stayed in the River suite which was so great to come back to after a long day of exploring and have our own decent sized private tub. I really can’t even say enough great things about this place. 5 stars isn’t enough. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

The views of the caldera from our private patio were stunning anytime of day. Unbelievable hotel. Everyone knows about the scenery, but the service is spectacular. Everyone there is great, and they do all the little things you would expect from a very nice hotel. I emailed beforehand to let them know that we were there for a special occasion, and they coordinated a free upgrade for us. A service they should advertise more are the five drivers that work for this hotel--they will drive you anywhere on the island AND provide history and tours. While these are a little pricey, the tours are traveling is well worth it. The breakfast was complimentary and fantastic. All amenities at the other two Canaves properties are available for use, and we used the spa at the Canaves Suites, which was great. There is no reason not to stay at this hotel.

We arrived at the hotel very early before check in and the staff was beyond accommodating! They made sure we had breakfast, welcomed us with a cocktail and were extremely helpful in allowing us to get completely ready and dressed their lobby restroom so we could take pictures before our room was ready. Once we got our room, we were treated to roses on our bed, a bottle of wine and a great fruit platter. The room was very spacious, with a great bathtub and shower. The only downfall to this hotel was that the hot water was not working for part of the time. The hotel knew about the problem and had it fixed in a timely fashion. Again, I can honestly say this was, the only downside of this hotel and it certainly wasn't anything the staff could do to fix it any better.
Our room had a private tub and an AMAZING view. The private tub was nice, but with such an amazing view, hotel and location it almost wasn't even needed.

My wife and I had a long weekend at Canaves Oia. Everything about this hotel is great, the staff were extremely attentive and friendly, the rooms were immaculate, the facilities first class. The hotel has a very intimate feel. The best thing however were the Champagne breakfasts and the long afternoons looking out over the Caldera from a fantastic view point!

If you've explored Santorini, you'll know that Canaves Oia is the best hotel on the island. Aside from it's sheer beauty, perfect location which overlooks the Caldera, and the immaculate grounds, you won't find better service or kindness on the island. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable and host the best views in Santorini. The hotel has great amenities and if this location doesn't have them, their sister properties do. And the front desk staff was extremely helpful in recommending fun things to do around the island. All and all, I had a wonderful stay at this hotel.

Excellent location in Oia, easy to explore the village and great access to the main stretch of restaurants and shops. The view of the caldera was amazing every day regardless of the weather. The service from the airport pickup, to morning breakfast just in our private patio, to dining at the hotel restaurant were excellent. If there is any point of improvement, it would be for the hotel staff to give a better introduction to the island and suggestions for things to do beyond Oia and Fira. Otherwise, if you are just there to enjoy the view and food, I would recommend staying at Canaves.

We had an amazing time at Canaves Santorini and when they found out we were on our Honeymoon we were even upgraded to a more private suite. Check was less than perfect as we arrived quite early and couldn't get our room until 3pm, this seems common at the resort so just be aware if you have an early arrival- it would have been better if they'd told us we were no chance of an early check in so we could go off and explore. The location is perfect, little shops nearby for groceries, plenty of restaurants within walking distance - which you need as the hotel is double the price is restaurants nearby - it's a shame because if the breakfast is anything to go by, the chefs are truly excellent! Staff and management are beyond helpful - nothing is a problem too much to ask. The lay out of some of the rooms is a little awkward compared to other luxury hotels, but that's what you get building on the side of a cliff I guess!
