The property was beautiful. & felt authentic to Santorini & Oia specifically. It was a close enough walk to the main area in Oia. My only complaint is that there was hair in the shower. We were only here for a day, so it wasn’t great. But didn’t want to make a fuss as we weren’t staying long & didn’t want to deal with waiting for a new room. The room was ready for us an hour early. & although the shower takes a bit t warm up, the water does eventually get nice & hot. Staff was very friendly.

Great position

Very nice hotel close to the town and transport but quiet. Very helpful and friendly reception staff. Lovely pool. The only quibble I have was with the restaurant. I ordered an entree of mussels and a third of the nine were not opened! The Greek salad was also disappointing with great chunks of tomatoes and cucumber and very bland dressing.

The location is the best from my personal view. The accesibility to buses and taxis from the hotel is great and also to restaurants and city center. The people at the hotel are very nice and supportive in any matter.
I dont think I will go back to Santorini, but if I ever do, I can imagine that I probably will choose the same hotel.

This is an excellent location. Right at the start of the Oia walkable attractions. They have a restaurant as well. The Manager was very nice and friendly. The pool was closed for my visit but since it is December, I did not care.

Only one thing - The Manager called a cab for me to go from Oia to Fira. The fare decided was 30Euros. When I disembarked in Fira, the driver charge 35 Euros and said the 5 Euro charge was for credit card payment! He also checked with his 'boss' on the phone. When I argued, he said 30 Euros was for cash payment only. He was clearly lying. I had already told the Manager I would pay by credit card but since I had no way of contacting the Manager, there was nothing to do but pay. I am not sure whether the management is aware that the cab company they call does that but no better forum to make them aware.

Please make sure you get the Manager to come out and repeat the rate and mode of payment in front of the can driver.

The property itself was okay. Clean. Big pool. Our room was very spacious but it had no views. Nice restaurant. We ate dinner there. Food was not bad, moderate prices, good service. Breakfast was not included. Convenient location but huge garbage place across the street from property.

The location of the property is outstanding - walkable from all major points of interest, restaurants, mini grocery shops, etc. The rooms were clean. The staff was friendly. The only issue was the doors of the bathroom the window shutters were very difficult to close (had to literally slam them shut each time). Nonetheless, very highly recommended! Wi-Fi can be a bit choppy (important if you're working remotely).

The manager who works all the time all week long is the nicest man ever! He will help you at reception with anything and is always there to make you feel welcomed and safe in this small hotel. It’s located literally in central Oia next to everything you need outside your doorstep! We loved our stay!

Laokasti is perfectly located, right at the entrance of the pedestrians path way. Market, just next door. Excellent service and food at restaurant. Very convenient, bus stop is in front of hotel. Breakfast included...was just like a buffet, amazing. I would stay there every time I come back to Santorini.

My husband and I booked this hotel as a layover because we knew we would arrive on the island at around 1am. We stayed here for a total of 5 hours, and thank God! We didn't even change into our PJs, or brush our teeth in the morning, we left as soon as we could.

We do not recommend this place.

Nice pool-side, room a bit dark and hard mattress

Very nice around the pool area, but not the most comfortable night. Mattresses was very hard (and that was the 'softer' one of the two beds in the room!). Room was very dark. But a quiet room which I had requested. Just off the main tourist area, so fairy quiet but at the same time near the action. Don't get the amazing view, but then not paying for it either. But it's only a minute or two away to walk over to see it. The pool side rooms looked a lot nicer than my room. Very good restaurant and reasonably price - worth dining here for dinner. Didn't have the breakfast as was travelling early. Receptionist was super cheerful and helpful.

We stayed here for about 4 days and had a fantastic experience. The staff at the check-in counter, restaurant, cleaning, etc. were so friendly and caring, greeted us warmly, gave us various maps of the island and village along with recommendations for where to visit, and answered any questions we had. This hotel was very clean, beautiful, and quiet. It was very convenient that breakfast was included in the price; there was a variety of items on the menu and you could order an unlimited amount. We also loved the pool and had a great time relaxing there, as well as the rooftop restaurant which had a nice view of the sunset along with incredible food for good prices. In addition, as our flight was at night and check out was at 11 am, we were allowed to stay in our room for no additional cost for as long as we needed before our flight. We had never encountered such caring and great service, and we were so pleasantly surprised. The one problem we could think of is that the internet connection in our room was very slow, but I had that experience in all of Santorini, not just at this hotel. Overall, our stay here was wonderful and we would definitely visit again if we are ever in Santorini.

I really enjoyed my stay at Laokasti Villas. The location was perfect. Just across the street from the pedestrian road of Oia. The hotel was charming. It looked like a small Greek village. The pool was really nice. The best part were the staff, especially Poppi. They were so friendly and accommodating they couldn't do enough for you. I highly recommend this hotel

Laokasti is really distinguished by its great people, pool area, and kitchen. The staff was genuinely friendly and really made us feel welcome. The pool area is just lovely, and the food is really good. Do have a meal while you stay. We had an included breakfast that was good as well. We really enjoyed the location just across from but not quite in the madness that Oia can be.

I had chosen this property because of the great price, in comparison to other places in Santorini. I have to say, I was not disappointed at all. Everything at Laokasti Villas was EXCELLENT. Our flight to Santorini itself got delayed, so we ended up calling the property to let them know we might be checking in after midnight, because we were still waiting on a taxi. The property offered to call a taxi for us themselves, which ended up being the family of the property themselves who came to get us. The room itself was very nice, and the location was great. It's right across from the main pedestrian strip. Also, we ate at the restaurant two times--by far the best food we had while in Greece, and at a great price! I would highly recommend staying here--you'll be saving a lot of money if you don't mind not being directly on the water. I highly recommend their restaurant as well.

Fantastic location but not quite sure about safety

Staying in Oia rather than at Fira was definitely the right choice. Fira is too crowded and commercialised. Oia is pretty, romantic and of course, that's where the sunset is!
The apartment is of a good size. However, sleeping in the loft which one accesses via a wooden staircase with very low railing (and the loft railing is very low too) made me somewhat uncomfortable

Enjoyed the luxurious pool chaises, snack bar was great because we could just order lunch at the pool, cocktails too. Accomodations were comfortable and spacious. Supermarket next door so you can get things for the room and keep them in the mini kitchenette provided in the room.

The hotel is in a great location to explore Oia, the pool area is a wonderful to relax after a days sightseeing. Our room was spacious and the staff were all very friendly. The only negative that I can say is that the bed in our room was extremely uncomfortable.
Overall an enjoyable stay.

The location is great! It has great access to the main walkway in OIA, is across a small road from a market for water snacks etc., also the local bus stop and pick up point for all types of tours and transportation. A good smoothie/coffee shop with a small restaurant upstairs.

Beautiful hotel on the main road and across the street from the amazing Oia sunsets! This hotel was a great deal! Huge pool, clean rooms, breakfast every morning delivered to our room at no cost and the restaurant had some of the best food we’ve had on the island. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, giving us maps of the island and even calling us a cab when the buses passed us up. Will defiantly be staying here again!

Great location!

My friend and I enjoyed our stay at Laokasti Villas & Restaurant. The driver was late picking us up (apparently this is a common occurrence) so it might be good to have a phone or the hotel's email address in hand incase this happens to you as well. Our last day at the resort, the power and water was out from 830am to 2pm (in the whole area), which was a bummer as we really wanted to swim in the pool. The hotel manager, however, agreed to our request to return after check-out (at 2pm, when water and power was back) to use the shower in another available room to compensate for not having water that day, so all in all not too bad. Location was really convenient. Right across the bus stop and steps away from all the shops, restaurants, etc.

My friend and I stayed there for two days. We first loved the location and atmosphere of the hotel; it was exactly as we expected. However, on the first night, the weather got really cold, so we asked a staff how to turn on a heater in the room. He told us that he would be right over in two minutes to teach us how to operate the heater. We waited so long and went back to the reception again, but nobody was there and everything was closed. We had to layer up clothings before going to bed, and woke up in the middle of the night because our noses got so cold. It was the worst experience ever. Next morning, a female staff at the reception was very helpful so I am giving two points instead of one.

One short visit

short, but oh so sweet. at first we thought, oops, we reserved a hotel too far from the beaten path. But we fell in love with the staff, the room, the location, and the opportunity to be OFF the beaten path. Oia is about 40 minutes north of Fira, with spectacular scenery on the way.
Dick and I are bus travelers and the staff speaks perfect English and helped us figure out how to navigate the bus system: regular buses every 20 minutes and the stop is directly across from the hotel. We highly recommend them and were sorry not to be able to stay longer. . .

A lovely bacillary with amazingly friendly staff, due to the beds being on the second floor of our loft, air-conditioning really never got upstairs. The water in the shower never got warmer than tepid and at times was colder than that. As for location and staff, five stars...a few minor tweaks in the amenities department.

Awesome service and easy location

This hotel is perfect for people who are looking to explore Oia. The rooms are definitely homey with good space but very minimal furnishings. So if you're not planning on spending a ton of time lounging in your room it's more than enough to get the job done (we never used the pool but it looked nice). If you opt for the breakfast it's fantastic service and suitable quality that'll get your day started pleasantly with in-room delivery. It's just minutes from most of the Oia shops and you can even take a leisurely walk to the Byzantine Castle in less than 30 minutes. We even took a stroll down to Amoudi bay for drinks/lunch then cliff diving and back to the room in a matter of a couple of hours. It was awesome. Unless you want the whole luxury scene, I recommend this hotel.

We loved our stay at Laokasti - it's an affordable option in Oia. The pool is perfect & the staff are all so friendly & helpful. They were flexible with allowing us to stay & use the pool on the day we checked out which we really appreciated. Room was as expected, spacious, lovely & clean. We had a superior room facing the little garden & onto the street rather than the pool & worried it would be noisy but it was actually fine. Wifi and aircon worked well.

Fabulous Hotel at Entrance of Oia Caldera Walk

From the moment we arrived at Laokasti Villas, we were greeted with warm smiles and staff ready to help us check into our hotel smoothly. Our room was the perfect size for two, super clean, and included a cute back patio. We were pleasantly surprised every morning with a delicious breakfast that consisted of fresh fruit, eggs, honey, greek yogurt, and sausage. I loved that we had the choice every day to customize our own breakfast. The pool area is amazing and very relaxing with nice views of the flat side of Santorini. Try to wake up for sunrise!!! The poolside food was also excellent - GET THE GREEK SALAD AND SPECIALITY PIZZA!! yum. We dined at the Laokasti Restaurant and it was hands down the best food that we tried in Oia. The flavors are exquisite and the chef has clearly taken much time to plan his menu. The lamb shank, mushroom risotto, and chocolate cake were our favorites. They also have an upstairs patio to dine which shows a beautiful sunset. You will probably want to go two or three times! Overall, the staff was extremely attentive to your every need from house keeping to the front desk to the servers. Michael at the front desk we nicknamed \"Savior\" because he literally helped with any request we needed and could always deliver. The hotel was also very helpful with planning excursions, rental cars, and transfers to airport. Laokasti Villas will always have a place in our heart.

Great location in Oia (but Oia is expensive!)- couldnt be more perfect if you want to stay in Oia. You get a discount on food & drink if you eat/ drink at the hotel. The staff are so friendly and cant do enough to help. It's quiet and peaceful despite being in one of the busiest tourist spots of the island.

LOCATION! HOSPITALITY! GOURMET RESTAURANT!

We spent two days at the Laokasti Villas this July. We arrived on Santorini early morning and were picked by a driver from airport to Oia. At Laokasti we were greeted with multiple pleasant surprises: our room was ready, we got free upgrade to bigger villa right at the pool and we could stay in there until our late departure. The hotel is located next to the bus stop in the centre of Oia and at the beginning of the main pedestrian walkway across Oia up to the western tip of the island (sunset viewing).
All staff is extremely friendly and service was superb. The manager Popi, made some phone calls to re-arrange our car rental in Heraklion, Crete, because we received an email with ferry schedule change. This is just one example of staff being helpful.
Hotel is very clean, nicely renovated and with beautiful décor.
But the best kept secret of Laokasti is the gourmet restaurant and its Chef Kosta. Very sophisticated and tasty food is incomparable to all the restaurants along the pedestrian walkway that seem to be “tourist menu” food factories. The best dish was grilled octopus in orange sauce. We ordered it twice, but you cannot have same experience twice at Laokasti. Kosta made different sauce for us when we ordered second time. Yes, service is highly personalized in Laokasti.
By the way all hotel guests receive significant discount on all items in the restaurant.
Thank you Popi and all the staff (including Polish Miss Ania) for such a pleasant stay.

Great little hotel, great location

Just a few minutes stroll away from central Oia at the end of the pretty pedestrian path lined with shops, galleries and bars etc - and a fabulous view all the way. Hotel was spotlessly clean and under the new management of Popi and her brother, who couldn't do enough for us. All staff very polite and helpful. Loved our room which was huge and spotlessly clean. The pool is large by comparison to most Santorini establishments and the pool area is delightful and well-equipped (including pool towels, comfy loungers and umbrellas etc). Food and drinks are reasonably priced - which was a pleasant surprise after 2 weeks in Mykonos, which is incredibly expensive. We only had one night there unfortunately, but would not hesitate in booking again. Thanks to the lovely Popi for a great stay.

Great location close to shops and Oia walkway

Our stay was wonderful. The staff were very helpful. The restaurant on site served authentic Greek dishes of very top quality and with a 20% discount for hotel guests. The pool was clean with a pool bar which served great cocktails and good food.

Overall an unforgettable experience and highly recommend it.

Happy stay in Santorini

Away from the crowds yet so conveniently located, the bus stop to Fira is just opposite. And the restaurant food was so delicious, we can't help to have it the next evening again. And the staffs are all very nice people. We loved the stay.

Hotel Staff is amazing, very friendly. Hotel needs some improvements, like better pillows and breakfast in order to justify the daily rate. But they have improved it after my complain. Popi was really helpful and did not save any efforts to please us.

Perfect location.

We really enjoyed our stay at laokasti. It was the perfect spot for everything we wanted to do on Santorini. The. Hotel staff were so nice. And the pool was gorgeous. We would definitely stay here again.

Handy location

The hotel is nicely positioned at the end of the pedestrianised promenade. The accommodation is set back from the main road and is quiet as a result. The superior room is spacious enough but wardrobe space is limited. The room is dark having light just from the door panel but that didn't really detract from the fact that it was clean and tidy but had few accessories given that the room came with a kitchenette. The pool area was very clean with an ample supply of comfortable sunbeds.
The breakfast was just a basic continental affair but again, was adequate given that there were plenty of cafes, bars and bistros on the doorstep. All in all it was good value for money considering the eye watering prices of the more luxurious hotels.

Father and daughter bonding trip.

Nice hotel, nothing flash but comfortable and reasonably priced in a great location across the road from the caldera. The pool was great, one of the best I've seen in the Greek islands and the hotel restaurant was a pleasant surprise.

Great location and good value for money

Good location at just end of walkway into Oia so great for an evening walk. Bus stop directly opposite hotel with buses into Fira where you can get another bus to other parts of the Island. Basic rooms with a modernised shower, sink and toilet. Furniture a little dated but bed was comfortable. Good swimming pool area with a pool side bar that only operates from 12pm to 8pm. Breakfast is good but a bit basic so it gets a bit repetitive towards the end of the week. There was good wifi within the whole hotel and swimming pool area.

Dishonest, desperate hotel operator!

I am in the process of disputing with my credit card a totally bogus charge for a random extra night that the hotel is claiming I reserved (which I did not, as I prepaid three nights through a reservation agent and that's it). Not only are they blatantly stealing money from me for one (not cheap) extra night, and refusing to admit their oversight and mistake in booking me through a complicated web of third party reservation agents they use, they have the nerve to insist they are \"protected by law\" - not sure which law - unless it total incompetence or squeezing from tourists every last desperate penny they can. Moreover, not only are they overcharging me for an additional room I did not book, we did not have electricity or hot water for a day and a half. And when they failed to tell us that the reception desk closes at 10 and that you should not leave your key with them if you plan to be back later than that, we had to wake up the night attendant at midnight, he arrived in a terrible mood, did not say \"hello\" or \"goodbye\" to us and was very rude, as if we were some delinquent teenagers coming home past our curfew. My overall recommendation - do not waste your time or money on Santorini and pay greedy, dishonest hotel and restaurant operators your hard earned money. Come for a day trip, do a boat tour, and be on your way to more sane destinations. But if you do choose to stay, stay away from the charlatans at Laokasti Villas!

ACROSS THE ROAD FROM MAIN WALKWAY TO SUNSET.

STAFF FREINDLY. SPIROS CAN BLOW HOT & COLD. MOSTLY HOT (GOOD). ROOM COMFORTABLE FOR 2. TOWELS NEED TO BE ON FLOOR OR NOT REPLACED. BREAKFAST BUFFET IS ADEQUATE. DINING IS GOOD GREEK FARE. STAYED HERE 7/2013, FOR 9 DAYS AND THE SAME THIS TIME. THEY ARE VERY ACCOMIDATING AND REQUESTS ARE HANDLED WITHIN 24 HRS. MAIN WALKWAY IS WHERE ALL RESTAURANT AND SHOPPING ARE LOCATED, AS WELL AS WALK TO SUNSET. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND. ONE OF THE BETTER BUYS ON OIA AND CLEANER THEN FIRA.

Great location

We stayed here for 4 nights. The location is really good, as it is across the road to the pedestrian walkway of the Caldera, without the stairs. The bus stop is also located directly across the road. There is also a small shop beside the hotel. They provide books at reception, that you can borrow, you return them when you check out. There was no safe in our room as it was being repaired, the owner gave us a safety deposit box located at reception. The breakfast was adequate. We ate at the hotel restaurant one evening but we preferred the food at the nearby restaurants. The pool area is really nice. We found the owner and the staff to be friendly. It was good value for the price we paid.

Great location - rooms and professionalism not so

We stayed at Laokasti for 3 days.
We arrived at night and when walked into the room it was extremely dark. I know the hotel recently underwent renovation, however I somehow didn't notice it in my room, it just did not give me a feeling of cleanliness. There was only a sheet to cover with us and an old duvet, no blankets, so we used towels on top (super ghetto - but hey, it gets chilly!).
There was daily housekeeping service, however, sheets were never changed, the cover lay on the chair as I had left it and never folded. It just lo

The owner was great and super helpful, can't say the same about the rest of the staff.
When asking for toilet paper as housekeeping didnt notice there wasn't any (how?!), I was asked if I needed it right away!?
Requested a cab to the airport at a specific time, a minivan arrived 30mins later telling me they were going to pick up 4 other people. I requested and paid for a taxi transfer though the night before!
Location
It is located right off the main road, right next to a mini market and the bus stop. It is close enough to all the action but secluded enough to be quiet and relaxing.
Food
I read reviews and people gushed about the breakfast. Food is food, but honestly the breakfast was nothing impressive, and very limited choice. However, snacks at the pool bar were delicious and freshly made. Never had dinner there
The pool is great though with enough lounge chairs!

Convenient, spacious, steps away from caldera

Our stay in this hotel was wonderful. It is located just steps away from the most wonderful views in Oia. Rooms are air conditioned, spacious, contain fridge and mini kitchen, there is plenty of parking, and the staff is very friendly. We arrived at 2:30AM by car (finding the way from the airport to Oia in the dark was somewhat adventurous, but with some help on the way we managed - Greek stay up and party late). We rang the bell at the reception which was answered by the owner of the hotel in less than a minute. He had obviously been asleep already but was not upset about the late arrival. The breakfast buffet was perfect and around 8:30AM it was always very quiet. We didn't go on any tours but were using our rental car to explore the island. While you do not have a view of the caldera from your room, we'd definitely recommend this hotel for the convenience of parking close to rooms (no carrying of heavy luggage through the narrow walk ways and stair cases of most other hotels in Oia), the amenities in the rooms and the price.

Decent hotel at edge of Oia

We stayed here for 2 nights, 3 days. This could have been a better stay if only the staff was more helpful.

Pros:
1. This hotel is at the edge of Oia...right at the beginning of the famous pedestrian walk in Oia.
2. We were a family of 4...so we got a family suite. Decent size rooms. Small bathroom.
3. Good wi-fi connection
4. Good swimming pool

Cons:
1. We reached by 7 AM. The reception opens at 8 AM. So we wait in lobby. The guy...an older man...is not friendly at all. No friendly greeting etc. Quite un-interested.
2. We asked if we could eat breakfast. He said we are allowed only 2 breakfasts for 2 nights...so choose which 2 breakfasts we'll use. So we chose to eat the first day and skip on the last day. The breakfast itself is very, very basic with very few options.
3. The staff did not help us with moving our luggage etc. You do everything by yourself...they will not even touch it.
4. We wanted to go to Fira town. We decided to take bus from Oia. The stop is right outside hotel, but bus did not stop! It was probably full with passengers from Oia, but it is sad to wait in hot sun and have the bus drive-by!
5. What happened next was bad. One of the mini-bus from a tour operator was empty and the driver stopped briefly to ask if I and my family want a ride. I said ok. I asked how much do I pay. He does not respond...just asks us to get in fast. Upon reaching Fira, he is asking double of what a taxi charges. Other passengers, beware of this!
