Our stay at the Amethyst Hotel in Oia was nothing short of spectacular. This boutique resort offers stunning panoramic views of the western tip of Santorini, with its idyllic setting perfectly capturing the charm of the island. Located just a short walk from the iconic blue domes, sunset viewpoints, restaurants, and shopping in Oia, it’s an ideal base for exploring the area.
We arrived via ferry and found the hotel to be about a 25–30 minute drive from the port. Renting a car was a great decision, as it made getting around the island incredibly convenient. The hotel has ample parking, and we had no trouble finding spots in both Oia and Fira.
The atmosphere at the hotel is peaceful and relaxing. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our needs, including early and late check-ins. The on-site restaurant offers a wide variety of food and drink options, and the large sea-view pool was an absolute highlight—perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring.

J'ai abosulement adorer notre expérience à cette hotel! Non seulement la chambre que nous avions recu étais magnifique, situé mais près de Oia a 5 minute de voiture qui un indispensables pour etre la car a lautre extrémités de l'île. l'extérieur était tellement beau. J'ai bu le meilleur café au monde au bar déjeuner et en plus, le personel est très gentil et nous a donner des directions que nous avions besoin et quelque suggestion. Si j'étais pour revenir à Santorini, je choisirais Amethyst!

This place was absolutely stunning. My family and I had a great experience from the moment we checked in until the final day of our stay. Everyone on property were very helpful from the housekeeping lady to Dimitri. On the day of heading to the airport, we weren’t able to get a taxi so the owner of the property made that happen for us and gave us a ride. Will definitely be back.

Location is not great. Internet was also terrible and cellular service in the area was also not great as the location is away from population centers. Beaches and tourist attractions are not walkable distances. Need to get taxis and they are about 40 euros to get you to Oia from the hotel. No close stores nearby or restaurants either. Apart from this, amenities were ok. Breakfast was good

We absolutely adored this boutique hotel - we will definitely be going back!! The property is gorgeous and pristine, and with fewer rooms than a big hotel we felt completely relaxed and could truly enjoy all of the amenities (the pool is lovely and we had our own hot tub!). The staff were wonderful - so warm, friendly and welcoming. Our room was comfortable and spotless. We enjoyed being here so much that we stayed in one of the nights to have dinner by the pool. We were glad to have rented a car because the walk into Oia, although not long, is not very walkable (as with santorini in general there are few sidewalks and roads are narrow). However, I would stay here rather than in the centre of Oia any day - we were close enough to get to Oia within 5 minutes but at enough distance to benefit from getting away from the crowds to relax atctfecebd if the day. I’ve traveled throughout Europe and this was probably my favourite hotel I’ve stayed in

The manager really tries to do her best to keep every guest happy as much as she can but few things did not change what so ever .. doesn’t matter how many times you complain.. we paid so much extra around 700 euros for the hot tub room but it was clean or hot enough to sit and relax and more or less there is no staff after 7 pm so by the time you get back to the hotel after long day there is no service at all even front desk is closed. But manger heggie was available 24/7 on our personal leave she was so kind and nice that she gave us her personal number so we can bug her anytime and she always replied back. The hotel overall is not worst of the price we have paid not at all .

Hegy, the host, was extremely encouraging of us to do specific attractions on the island that made sense financially and logistically. She was also able to set up taxis, excursions, and more. She also had great food options. Breakfast is included and prepped daily! The GREEK PANCAKES were amazing.
On to the rooms: an oasis if you ask me. Truthfully the only thing I’d ask is that there be a full length mirror and a few extra seats in the room I stayed in. Other than that, this place is perfect! Bathrooms were spacious, rooms were cleaned everyday, great service!
This location is very close to town! However, I would suggest renting a car for the time you’re there. It’s a lot cheaper to do it through Expedia, rather than when you’re there. It’s about a 15 minute walk from the hotel to Oia city center. I’d suggest taking the walk on days you don’t have a car or want to explore. Parking is free everywhere, FYI.
Oia has great sunsets. And being poolside is a plus at this location.

This property is breathtaking and should be 5 stars. We stayed at this hotel for 3 days and it was the most beautiful and relaxing time we ever had throughout our entire two weeks in Greece. The property was astonishing and brand new with many amenities. We were greeted by the owner and Hegi, she was excellent. Hegi has awesome customer service and attended to all our needs to feel comfortable. He English was great and she communicated very well with us. My daughter love her so much and cried when she was leaving. I wish I stayed longer because it felt like home. I highly recommend this property. We will definitely stay here again in the future. The property was fine and the service was good. However there were ants in our room on the ground along the walls. They sprayed for them but they came back the next day. My friends also got another room and they had ants as well. The ants got into their suitcase. We noticed ants on their suitcase at the airport. Also, there is no ventilation in the bathroom. The shower was clogged and didn’t drain property. Otherwise, the property was fine and the breakfast was good.

I loved that the hotel looked just like the pictures. It is a long walking distance (15-25 mins) from the town center of Oia. You will need a car otherwise you'll spend on taxis. It seems to be in the middle of no where, but if you stay on the 2nd or 3rd floor you'll have an ocean view. Everything was pristine. Hotel front desk answers all your questions in reasonable time. Breakfast was available, and even a lunch menu to order.

What a wonderful stay! Although my travel companion and I stayed for one night, the staff went above and beyond for us. We asked for a downgrade since one of our friends had to cancel last minute and instead they upgraded us at no charge!
The staff were very attentive and had great recommendations for places to eat around the area ( a big shoutout to Bill!). The property itself was beautiful, sleek and modern and our room was perfect and had a Greek feel to it. Overall we had a great stay and I would recommend this place to anyone!

Nous avons passé juste une nuit dans cette hébergement (de passage sur Oia) je vais commencer par le côté possible, l’extérieur est magnifique comme sur les photos belle piscine bar très propre et jolie et un petit déjeuner compris, la literie était plutôt agréable cependant la chambre c’est une catastrophe pas de fenêtre pas d’isolation du coup si le voisin prend une douche ou allume la lumière par exemple vous entendrez tout, la télé ne fonctionne pas (juste le son) pas de bouteille d’eau offerte, l’évacuation de la douche ne fonctionne pas bien, la porte de la chambre ne ferme pas ou avec difficulté. Pas de jus d’orange pour le petit déjeuner pas non plus de fruits frais et café immonde. Dommage Hotel à améliorer.

La struttura è in una campagna ma si paga come fosse un pieno centro, prezzo assolutamente inadeguato per una camera al piano interrato dell’edificio con doccia e lavandino che diventano un lago perché gli scarichi non funzionano. Senza finestre e balconi, se non un finestrino alto nel bagno e porta d’ingresso con pannello cieco, con conseguente puzza di umido degli ambienti. Bella la zona piscina ma i teli che davano in dotazione dubito erano lavati ad ogni utilizzo perché maleodoranti e macchiati. Non la consiglio nella maniera più assoluta!
