I did not get my favourite cleaner, Friski, as requested. A very cheerful and happy guy, Sudiana, appeared shortly, but they sadly took him away from cleaning my room. Why can’t you choose your favourite cleaner? 😉 I really love their pool and the garden around it! The place is a bit dated but the price and the lovely staff make up to it! Have booked here 5 years now and probably next year, too!

We booked 8 nights. After checking in the first shock was the strange musty smell in the room. We decided to see if would clear after opening the room up but by the next morning and after a bad nights sleap it was still there. The shower did not work because there was not enough water pressure and the bathroom was drab and dirty. We booked another hotel and moved out after 1 night.

The property itself was really nice, with a garden like appearance. The rooms are clean and spacious. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room price was very reasonable. And even though the area of town is very touristy, busy and noisy, the hotel itself was quiet and relaxing. The pools, restaurant and breakfast are great.

My only 'complaint' is not about the property. Kuta Beach is a lively part of Bali. There are so many convenient places to eat, shop and explore. This hotel was perhaps the best one I have had to date. My concern is with the people on the street constantly soliciting Cialis, Viagra and prostitutes. I've been to Kuta several times and this problem seems to have become worse. I only hope that local authorities can help stop this. It ruins the good experiences that nice hotels like Melasti can provide.

The Melasti Kuta is a disappointment, the staff are horrible, they don’t clean the rooms and have no American breakfast as advertised. When we checked out the staff went through our hand luggage as they believed we had taken them. They were very rude, we felt unsafe leaving our luggage with them. We will never return to the Melasti Kuta again. Poor service, substandard breakfast and large numbers of children in the pool doing swimming lessons. Overall the hotel was run down and we were disgusted with the invasion of privacy.

Although this is an older hotel the grounds are beautifully maintained and it was lovely sitting at anytime looking out at beautiful gardens. The rooms are large and comfortable, housekeeping was excellent. The biggest thing that was negative about this hotel was the breakfast, there was very little left even by 8am and not a big selection. Not being able to just walk over and order toast and eggs was a pain, these were done upstairs. Although I would never book with breakfast again I would definitely stay at this hotel without hesitation.

This hotel is appalling dirty fridge with insects, dangerous bare cables in drawers no shower curtain in bathroom and taps loose toilet did not flush.
Kettle but no cups!!!

Having stayed there on 3 previous occasions,the last time,2 years ago,the property has fallen into a state of disrepair.appear no.or limited maintenance/upkeep of amenities is being undertaken,at check in,another customer was being moved from unsatisfactory room for the 3rd time?we booked and paid for 2x interconnected sets of rooms due to children accompanying us.on arrival,we were given 3 x seperate single rooms,one of which the bathroom could not be used due it’s state and smell.we eventually got one set of interconnected rooms,and one double room,with no compensation for the loss of the 4th room.the booked price with Expedia was $570 odd for interconnected rooms,however we were charged $660 for single room,not happy.the staff as always were great.we loved staying there once, but unfortunately there have lost a very loyal returnining customer.

We had some issues with our first room as nothing like advertised. Moved to a second room that stunk of sewerage & was unbearable to sleep in. Moved to a 3rd room which was much better & smelt OK. The hotel is tired but the pool was very clean & the staff were very helpful.

Great hotel, rooms are spacious with simple amenities. Bathrooms are a little older in style but lovely and clean. Staff are very accommodating to your needs and will go out of their way to help. We had a situation where my mother could not sleep very well in a bed, normally she would use a recliner. So the staff brought a poolside recliner lounge into her room and dressed it with bedding blankets and extra pillows for her comfort. It was fantastic.
The hotel is situated on busy Jl. Kartika Plaza in Kuta however none of the street noise was noticeable from our room. Very quiet in fact.

Breakfast was ok, but staff had a lot of difficulty in understanding us!
One Major Issue was Water!
We advised Front Desk Staff that we had No Hot Water, and the Boy on Duty just Laughed at us!
Second morning without Hot Water we once again told Staff and it was Ignored again, so we Left and went to a Different Hotel!
We were Very a Disappointed with this aspect of the Hotel!

Just average...beware of the food served in buffet

We had booked for 2 rooms , however the main head shower in one of the bathrooms was missing. Additionally , the supervisor at the hotel associated with melasti Kuta , was unreasonably rude . It was quite ridiculous since we were traveling with kids , we had to warm up some baby food , the lady told us to pay up for even warming up our food. That’s really insane . To top it all, we found hair in chicken sausage served in buffet and plastic piece in the jam-bread served in the buffet . All of which were bought to the notice of the supervisor at the hotel associated with melasti ...in return we never even heard back an apology . I must say they need to buckle up on their customer service and delight .Overall an just an average experience.

When this place was built it was probably the finest in town. Beautiful floors and stone work. But now its a disaster. It needs massive TLC. The walls have broken plaster and paint is bad. Luckily i didnt pay much to stay there. You get what you pay for. They seem to have lots of staff wondering around. They should use some of their time to paint. Location isnt bad. People at front desk were very nice. I wont come back a second time.

Me and my husband chose the hotel for our honeymoon because of the pictures that’s shown on the web and its distance to the beach. When we reached there, the room floor and bathroom were quite dirty and some part of the wall had mold on them. Keep in mind that we had the standard room. The hotel reception were helpful when we requested to upgrade the room. They showed us the room prior to moving which seems better in comparison to the previous room.
Once we moved there, we didn’t realise the shower was leaking untill the next day. Being tired from all the travel, we just couldn’t be bothered to move again. Everytime we showered the bathroom floor is just flooded with water.
One day before our checkout time, without prior notice from the hotel they had renovation in the morning which caused a lot of noise. We couldn’t rest properly and the renovation had cause our toilet bowl filled with dirt. It also cause our bathroom not to have any running water. When we complained to the reception, they did not explain what was happening. When we started to have water, there was barely any water to shower untill the day of our check out time.
Their laundry system is a bit weird. It is stated on the laundry paper for regular service we are supposed to receive our clothes back on the next morning if it submitted before 10 am. However, everytime we put our clothes to be washed, they never return it the next morning. I have to chase the hotel asking them where is our clothes.

We were never going to stay in Kuta and after many emails and phone calls to Expedia to confirm our reservation at Melasti Legion we arrived at Melasti Resort in Legion l, we had to pay more money fora happy Ne room unit where one of us had to sleep on a camping bed and NOT the two bedroom \"Superior Room\" we were promised. None of us 3 days leer Ladies will ever again recommend your company

Cheap and cheerful, The hotel is a little tired but the staff are top value. The location is outstanding in terms of access to Kuta shopping and entertainment. Thanks to Agung and the staff for their service and friendliness. A hiccup with baggage, the hotel is for the reasonably fit with one or two rooms reasonable for the mobility challenged. WiFi a little erratic; but that is Kuta I would not hesitate to stay again.

Hotel and rooms were extremely old and tired. We had an interconnecting room. Both rooms were dusty, dirty bathrooms, toilets didn’t flush. There were gaps around the doors which allowed mosquitoes in. Mosquitoes galore in both rooms!
Hotel weren’t willing to refund, however after having a HUGE meltdown they offered us an upgrade to a Suite which was a bit better.
Would not recommend hotel as it needs a serious refurbishment!

5 minute walk to the beach ,plenty of restaurants nearby ,2 good clean swimming pools in nice gardens.Like a lot of Asian hotels not much gets done until it falls to pieces although they are starting to update the rooms one at a time. We have stayed here before and will stay here again because we like it .The 3.1 rating you give it is probably about right [maybe a tad too low]

Walked into my room to find someone had slept in the bed and it hadnt been made. Room was covered in makeup and water. Changed rooms to a bigger room, door wouldn’t close properly, shower didn’t work, TV didn’t work, room floor was filthy. Very old building, poorly maintained. Unreasonable walk to the room, up many flights of stairs to the room. I left this hotel 5 nights early.

Also the tv reception is pretty hit and miss. But having said all that, the location and pool area are great. Very central to Kuta Square and Discovery Mall.

Room 1210- 2nd shower head broken. Fridge freezes everything.
Room 1211- door key was dodgy and eventually snapped in half, were not given a replacement.
Cockroach and big spider in room. Blood stains on sheets. Toilet kept blocking. Rotten apple in fridge.
Both rooms fairly tidy but defs needed a dust in certain places- i.e. top shelf of showers was disgusting. Bathroom cabinets had toothpaste marks all over. Fridges dirty.

We were put on the third floor first night room was clean but one shower didn't work and one toilet wouldn't flush
the steps between second and third levels were to large to climb. So we asked to move to the ground floor in the morning which they did with no problems we were placed over looking the garden pool which was great.
the showers need new shower heads but were hot, and the rooms clean' the air conditioner filters need a clean in our room as it was cool but not cold. the toilet in the other room would keep running if you did not pull up the handle, but for the price we paid.

Budget hotel ,close to everything

Paid extra for superior room first room given was budget up dodgey walkways ,complained & got room on lower floor room better but had blown jug no coffee etc etc,eventually got these ,had to ask every day for towels.very budget hotel & food .

Very uncomfortable and looking very aged

We found this hotel to be very aged and found that the security to the room unsafe
We booked out of this hotel the day after we arrived and found other accommodation inn Bali
