Rooms were on the smaller side. Ok for a single or maybe two people if you don’t spend time in room. Bathroom needs some attention hose was leaking and very small. Couldn’t swing a cat in there. Rooms were clean and tidy. They don’t give you clean towels each day which is disappointing when we realised we had to leave them on the floor to get clean towels. Breakfast was terrible not worth it. Bread was stale and only had one option food was ok if you were Indian or a local. Not much for westerners. Egg and watermelon and boiled rice. Pool area was great on rooftop but don’t supply pool towels. Staff were lovely and very helpful at all times. Aircon could do with a good clean. But overall location was great. Little noisey with bikes at night. Other guests very noisey and inconsiderate of others. Mostly Indian guests and local tourists also. Would I stay again for a cheap holiday yes but only two to a room not 3. You have to sleep on top off each other no room left in the room have to walk sideways.

I actually really liked this hotel! Great value for money! In a walkable central location. I felt very comfortable and the staff went above and beyond.

The room itself was a great size and the bed was the most comfortable bed I’ve slept in since being in Bali (2 months).

The only complaint was that everyone was loud in the hallway in the morning and it woke me up every morning. But I was also sleeping in later than I should.

I like the people friendliness. I like the room i stayed in.
I hated the breakfast buffet. It was cold and old food. The food was not heated and lids were left open for the food to get colder. If you get up late, after 8am expect cold rice and food that have been outside without a warmer for hours.

Firstly we arranged for transfer from the airport to the hotel. Nobody arrived. We had to then seek alternative transport. The booking was for 5 adults in 2 rooms. We paid for the accommodationat the time of booking. On arrival to the hotel we were told that the 2 rooms only had bedding for 4 & the hotel expected 3 adults to sleep together in 1 bed. However, they did advise we could have another bed for an additional cost. Another bed would definitely not fit into the small room, therefore 1 of the adults slept in a chair. Breakfast was included, however it was mediocre. I would not recommend this hotel.

Warning Bed Bugs

This place was the only place i got Bed Bugs out of 4 different paid accommodations i stayed at over my 3 week hoiday in Bali.
Not only did i get bed bugs but i was 1st placed in a room, for me was near a 5min struggle to get to the elevator as i use a walking stick due to an accident 2yrs ago, had to ask to move to room closer to elevator, even tho they saw my struggle approaching reception on arrival, do not recomend this place at all.
Must add this is the only bad review i have given to any hotel in all my years of using Hotels.com

You get what you pay for .. sadly .. gym equipment was not working .. my bedding did not seem clean under the sheet coverage .. a little off putting. The pool was lovely but needs TLC.. breakfast I would not waste my money .. was happier ordering on grab.. I left after 4 days . No hot water at times .. please don’t stay there if you want even 3 star.. plus side .. everyone was lovely there .. and close to everything .. just speaking the truth

Room didn't feel very clean, the bed and sheets felt a bit old and musty. The door was damaged, had a hard time opening and closing it each time. Wardobe door was also damaged, has a creaking sound when opening/closing and doesn't stay opened as the hinge wasloose.

Although the toilet door design was quite intelligent (able to swing 180 deg to segregate sink and toilet such that 2 people may use the toilet concurrently), the toilet was tiny and cramp and the door design made it difficult to open/close the door from inside.

Also, the main lift of the hotel was frustrating to use. The lift buttons felt like touchscreen / sensor but were often unable to respond when tapped.

Check in was good and the room clean and tidy. Very noisy as is close to a busy road. Unfortunately the windows in the common areas were left open so the noise was amplified into the room. Not a good stay. Choose only in desparation

Although it was shown a 24 hrs check-in we were told the rooms were not ready when we walked in around 2 PM. Staff was courteous and asked us to wait for sometime. There were no welcome drinks and we thought we will have lunch by the time. We ordered few items and figured out what would be the quality and standard from the food. Overall lunch experience was not good.
By the time we finished lunch, the rooms were ready and we picked up the luggages and moved in. The rooms were clean but bit old. The towels and bed linens were seemed like bought when the hotel was built. They weren't white but grayed over a period of years! Our room was facing a street and directly opposite to another hotel!
Many places the walls and roofs started peeling off due to leakages. The main entrance has a pond and the walls have plants adorning it and most pots were empty and gives a bad look. The pics and actual look completely different. Location of the hotel is good as it's closer to many shopping areas, beach and art market. The pool on the rooftop was ok and clean. But you need to remind the staff for towels many times.

The breakfast always have mainly Indonesian rice varieties and noodles. We were relying on the toast and made to order omlettes. Always there're shortages for spoons and forks. You need to remind the staff many times to replenish them. The service is overall average and needs lot of improvement.

A very convenient place to Kuta shopping area and eating places . Generally cheap hotel to stay for a few days . Pillows and bed is quite comfortable and there’s a sliding window so at least some fresh air into the room . Staffs are quite friendly. Breakfast was okie not much variety given its a 3.5 star hotel .

Couldn’t commend the staff more; they were all so friendly and helpful and would never say no. We had an issue with arranging a collection from the airport and it not turning up, so double check before you fly that someone will be coming to get you! It was however dealt with and we received a complementary driver to take us to our next hotel. Only slight issues were that the shower pressure wasn’t the best, and the breakfast could have been improved - one day they had a specials section doing pancakes and waffles, the next day it was a salad bar which was disappointing. Overall, I recommend this hotel, comfy beds, friendly staff, good spa treatments, and Yudi from house keeping makes the cutest towel animals

My partner and I booked this hotel for our 2 week stay. Upon arrival in the afternoon, our room wasnt ready to check into. We waited 30 minutes in the hotel lobby.

The first room we got into was disgusting. The shower smelt terrible, and the water did not drain. There was a 10mm sheet of water on the ground of the shower at all times.
The towels were stained all over, so badly i have no idea how the staff didnt pick it up.
The bathroom sink would fill up and not drain.
There was mould and rust in various parts in and around the bathroom.
The walls had several cracks.

The staff were very hard to communicate with. They did not understand english very well, nor could they speak it well either.

Twice we called room service, once to ask how to operate the safe, and once asking for new towels. No one came both times, we figured out how to use the safe and went and got new clean towels ourselves.
For the week we were there, our sheets were not changed.

The food was very average (room service and breakfast). We asked for eggs at breakfast and they didn’t understand. No one ever attended the pool bar.

Even though we paid for 2 weeks stay, we left and paid for another hotel. Before you read all the reviews and think this is such a great hotel, dont be fooled. I am not one to complain about much but this was a terrible stay.

I would never return here again!

Very good hotel

I liked this hotel very much. Room was clean once they cleaned our room 2 times in one day :) Staff are friendly and helpful. On rooftop there is pool which is good to there is a bar too so you can order some drinks. WiFi was working without problem and breakfast was good too a lot of different foods. Maybe only bathroom was quite small this is only negative thing about my room.

Beach is 5-7 minutes away and on the way to the beach there are some restaurants. There is quite big grocery store around 100m away.

Next time if I will go to Bali I will take this hotel if the price will not change drastically

I liked that it was in the centre of Kuta and close to everything.
I didn't like that I organised an early wake up call for the airport which never came.
I was offered a free breakfast and a ride to the airport as an offer of apology.
I would stay there again, if you like it simple, it's a good hotel.

Great Value (but it's still a cheap hotel in Kuta)

The price is great for what it is, location is right where we were wanting to be, and the breakfast was better than expected... some pros and cons:

Pros:
- Located right in the heart of Kuta yet down a little side street so it's not that noisy. We were there a couple days for shopping, so being right next to all the shops was ideal, and the beach is basically two blocks away.
- Breakfast buffet was sufficient and better than expected: eggs station saved the day, coffee notso good, but overall, tasty and good enough to fuel up for the day.
- Staff is very friendly and helpful: perhaps too much so, but can't really complain about that.

Cons:
- The room wasn't really that nice, but what do you expect for this price? Bed was clean and bathroom was fine. Very damp smelling when we first walked in though, and we had to open the windows in order to breathe.
- Loaded with tour groups: mostly Chinese and Indian, so one morning breakfast was over-crowded and these groups can be kinda loud when arriving and departing.
- If you're looking for a relaxing vacation in Bali, then Kuta isn't the right place, though resorts in the area might give you enough of a buffer to escape the madness: though quiet, this place is not one of those venues. This place is really in the thick of it.
- Some areas on the rooftop are still under construction.
- Pool looks dirty - wouldn't recommend swimming in it, so don't count that among the amenities.

Good Hotel for price and the location was excellent for use. Excellent friendly and happy staff who did their best for you . Breakfast was good just ask for bacon if you want it . Believe this hotel was mainly used by people for short stays, a lot from Asia who unfortunately are not quite when coming back to their room at night . Will consider using again in the future.

Awesome budget hotel.

Staff were lovely. Clean room, great aircon. Rooftop pool was good (just need a little shelter). Great location. Easy walk to matahari, beach and markets (and Gloria jeans!!!). Breakfast included was the best I've had at the budget hotels. Everything good quality and fresh. Just wish they had an egg station (although I did ask them to make poached eggs a couple of times) and maybe a juice (only water and ice tea). Will definately stay here again. The best value for kuta!!!

Solid option if you are on a budget

There are some small problems with this hotel, but the staff is really good and will try to help you. Like I got a pillow sheet with a blood stain on it and they quickly gave me a new one and apologized. We ordered room service cause we got in late and there was a caterpillar in the salad which turned us off of their food. The pool has a lot of loose tiles like some things which are a little worn down. AC was good.

My family with 3 kids stay at holiday inn kuta square from November 29 to December 3. We enjoyed our stay because the staffs go out of their way to help us with all the issues we have from airlines tickets problem. The manager of the hotel took me to the airport and Thai airway office to solve my airline tickets issue that we have. When we have problem with currency exchange, he helped me take my money back. Breakfast menu change everyday. The swimming pool have great view.

This hotel location is not to far or to close to where you want to enjoy your holiday in Bali.
From my brother in law inform me that this hotel not that old hotel.
But unfortunately seem they just let go for the maintenance.
For example on my room I saw a wall need some touch up plaster and paint in bathroom area. On bedroom they have hole besides the ac controller. The closet door need maintenance they nut are lose and have bad sounds if you open the door.
The food?? I don't know... Not making us feel want to have breakfast there. Cold , bland and to much to discuss here.
I informed this problem with Mr. Gusti and he act quickly and follow up with me.
He and his crews try the best they could to satisfied their guests.
It sad if Holiday inn look unmaintained. The light near the bed need to touch up... Look rusty.
One more thing... Maybe they can secure the launch chair on pool area. They are so dangerous... That chair can flip back and make the person hit the head to glass. I still have big bump on my head cuz that incident.
Anyway if the Holiday inn express can take my suggestion they will look much more better.

Dear Sir,

This Hotel location is near (walking) to Kuta Square street shops, Discovery Mall and Kuta Beach. The main road of hotel outside is narrow which is norm to some Bali road.
The Hotel provided reasonable size of rooftop pool and reasonable equipment of Gym facility. sunset view can be view at rooftop Attic.
City view and kite at sky can be view on/ inside rooftop pool.
The room (city view) is cosy and well maintenance. No Bathtub in room.
The Morning breakfast is well serve with variety and yummy foods.
The Hotel staffs service are well professional and well trained. They provided warm and friendly smile and conversation any times.

One of the worst hotels I stayed in!! Changed room 2 times! First room was so bright light could come through straight in my eyes n noise from reception n lobby of staff n guests all night n morning!! Second room had a horrible smell coming from the drain in the shower! Bed linen n towels r so old they looked dirty!! other hotel guests smoke everywhere!in the corridor so the smell of cigarettes got to my room!! Hotel is in dirty n scary back alley n it's a long walk from bars n restaurants!! The best thing about this hotel is customer service n helpful staff!

Nice hotel close to Kuta Square

Hotel is far enough from the busy road to not hear the constant blaring of vehicles & horns yet within walking distance to Kuta Square. Rooms are comfortable for a travelling couple. We did encounter one problem, the bathroom drainage was clogged so the run-off did not flow smoothly during showers. The bath towels provided showed signs of ageing, discoloured, thinning and with stains. Staff are friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast only serves basic food with no option for ordering eggs, however the coffee station provides takeaway cups which you can have your coffee on the go.

We stayed at Holiday Inn Express Kuta square for 3 nights during new year's eve and was surprized to find that the bathroom in the room provided to us was stinking. It was unbearable stink and we were given different room. We had booked 3 rooms and in other room provided, water in the bathroom was overflowing. This room also changed. We arrived at the hotel at 10pm in night and hotel management had enough time to check but who cares. We complained so we got rooms changed. Hotel room is small, bathroom does not have locks. Common bathroom door which moves to become door for bath area. Almost same spread during breakfast on all 3 days. On positive side, hotel is close to Kuta square.

Nice hotel close to beach & shopping area

Overall, it was a good experience. If you're staying for let's say 1 week like I did, then you'll find the Breakfast buffet to get repetitive after 3 days.

Otherwise very good. Staffs are FRIENDLY & HELPFUL.

Always happy to come back as good value for money, location of hotel is close to everything. Staff are very friendly and always helpful. Special mention to Oggy, Asiawan, Budi Arma, Yoga and Winaya. Also to Redi who does these amazing animal creations from towels.

Good location, friendly staff

Great location close to beach, restaurants, Kuta Square and Matahari. Don't need a bike to hire everything is close walking distance. I found the room was always clean and hotel facilities were great. Breakfast was always enjoyable with a variety for continental breakfast, overall I thought the price for accommodation was value for money. The wifi was very good and fast, but most of all the staff was very friendly and helpful, special mention to Oggy, Winarya, Asianwan, Eckar, Budi Arma also to Redi who made amazing animals creation out of towels....awesome. Happy to come and stay here again when I come back to Bali. I highly recommend this place to everyone.

Close to everything and friendly staff

Close to the beach, shopping malls and Kuta Square where you will find most things that you need. Good value for money, rooms are good and very friendly staff who are helpful, have to mention Oggy and Asiawan who were always helpful. Wifi and breakfast is good and upstairs where the pool is located you have an awesome view of Kuta. I recommend this hotel for singles, couples and families.

Right in the thick of Kuta!

Service amazing, loved the rooftop pool. Enjoyed our stay, place was good but wouldn't choose Kuta again to stay in, we chose as wanted to be near airport as flight arrived late in the evening.

Stay here if u just want to crash at night

The hotel is very well located at Kuta Square and next to the beach. The rooms are spacious but the washrooms are a tad not made well. I had water flowing all in the room from the washrooms. Also if u r not going with spouse then u may find no latch on the washroom door and glass partitioning from the room a lil disgusting

Very friendly staff

I stayed here for one night. I received a very warm welcome from the staff. I got my room very fast.
Room is very cozy. The only complaint is the warm water is some times taking too long to get and most of the time I couldn't wait, I simply shower in cold shower

It was a small, cosy and secure hotel a short distance off the side of kuta beach. It is near Kuta market. Basic breakfast, but new facilities and good security card activated lift.

We stopped for 1 night before flying home, picked the hotel for location and expected consistency from Holiday Inn Express. Lived up to expectations, simple but clean room, pool was clean and tidy with decent amount of furniture, and staff were really helpful, allowing us to use pool / shower after check put before our flight. Location decent, close to beach and shops. Breakfast was pretty basic and a bit scruffy but you get what you pay for. Would recommend for a short stay for convenience rather than for comfort / facilities you may want for a holiday stay.

Cheap, clean, comfortable and convenient

I stayed 4 nights in this property. Staff at reception were very friendly esp. Yadi and Oggy. Room was clean with basic amenities provided. Cable TV in room. Wifi was steady. Nice rooftop pool. Breakfast was just ok; nothing fanciful but for the price I pay for the stay, what was provided was sufficient.

Good value for location

Pros: central location, easy walking distance to popular points in Kuta, modern and clean rooms and facilities, good wifi, cable, showers, and air conditioning in rooms, great breakfast selection, and friendly staff. Cons: The hotel lists it has a fitness center but as present it does not (it is not installed yet), the street it is located on is narrow and has lots of traffic and there are sections with no sidewalk, the roof top pool is nice but there is no bar as described. Overall, it is a good hotel and if they ever get a fitness center installed and remains at the same price, then it will be a great value hotel in a central location.
