Rooms are old and dirty including walls. Bed mattress is old and uncomfortable. Pictures on hotels.com are not real. Reception staff unpleasant. I stayed 6 nights and room was not cleaned. Hotels offers bottled water in the room but it costs €5 per litre. Never again.

Parking was very limited. Couldn’t find a parking spot in the evening. No room service. No coffee or food on the property after breakfast. Breakfast was excellent. The room keys were actually old fashioned room keys and the hallway had little light. We had to use our cell phone light to insert the key. Personally we would avoid staying here again because it was just a hassle.

Perfect little spot booked last minute in a cute and quiet and safe little neighbourhood 5 minute walk from the metro station. Everything I needed for my short stay. Surprised with how great the little area was and would stay again. Also great snacks at the farmers market/food trucks on the way to the station(weekends maybe)

What a DUMP!! This may have been an amazing hotel 50 years ago but it is way OUTDATED!!! The price for your value is way overpriced!! No AC. I had to park off of site and had to pay 20€. The only good thing about hotel is walking distance to grocery stores and fast food eating places. I would not recommend!!

Hotel does need face lift but the most disappointing thing was the fact that the heating goes off at night. That coupled with a very thin quilt cover meant I had to put clothes on to stay warm. There are no spare quilts in the room. Not so good in the height of winter.

The beds were comfy. We didnt like the mini bar because we thought the drinks were included in the room and didnt expect to be charged extra for them. The breakfast bar was amazing but also costly. We got caught in a traffic jam on our way back to the hotel. The manager was upset with us for coming in late and threatened to leave us out on the street.

Hotel dated, staff doesn't speak English. They could not find my reservation then they wanted to charge me for the room I paid online. Room smelled strange at first. Beds comfortable but the decor definitely needs some updates. Good breakfast and location close to motorway.

The hotel is very good. It is clean and the service is excellent. The rooms are comfortable. The local are is not very lively and there are very few choices of places to eat other than the hotel. There is a good train service to the centre of Berlin. I was staying on a Business Trip and the hotel was very convenient for the office in Hennigsdorf.

Even though this was a Business room there were no coffee/tea making facilities. When I queried this I was given a kettle, but no tea, coffee, milk or cup. The free wi-fi was very tempermental meaning that working from the room in the evening was impossible.

Lots of shops nearby. Henningsdorf (b Berlin) train station is 6 mins walk. Although I caught taxis which is expensive. So if you're not travelling alone it shouldn't be problem. The woman at reception when I checked out wasn't helpful. She showed her annoyance at me & even though I asked her to call the shuttle bus company she pointed at the hotel lobby phone because she was more concerned about finishing her meal. Then a taxi driver turned up for another customer, who must've left, knowing that I needed a taxi (shuttle bus didn't turn up). I of course didn't understand the conversation that went on but I was so annoyed to see the cabbie drive off without a passenger! She could have saved me a lot of time; 1 ringing the shuttle bus company or 2 ringing the cab company to cancel the cab because one had turned up. But she couldn't be bothered to do either!! I missed my flight with all the kerfuffle. And had to pay €231.99 for another flight!! Naturally I am not happy!! I can give you the name if you need this.

Quick stop during multiple country travel

Was looking for a hotel for a quick stop after landing at Tegel airport/Berlin. The hotel room was immaculately clean, but the check-in desk woman was beyond rude (it felt more like I was being processed for incarceration...\"you WILL sign here...\" \"you may NOT change the credit card on file...\"

VERY little food options, staff very brusque in general. Housekeepers begin cleaning rooms at 730am and were yelling loudly to each other down the hallway, banging loudly on the doors, etc. It was NOT a restful stay (which was very surprising given that it was a Wyndham.

Nice helpful staff, room very comfortable and serviced everyday. Room very acceptable. We stayed for breakfasts only and they were lovely, English and continental. Hotel seemed situated in a quiet location so no where to go other than the hotel bar in the evening. Bar was on the expensive side , double Bailey's and single vodka and coke.. 17.00 Euro.

BEWARE!!

Was going to see a concert in Felten decided to stay at hotel looks very nice. Everything was good but we had to make a emergcy phone call on the hotel phone. The call was domestic and only 7 minutes long and it costed 70 euro. Will never stay here again and people should be careful! They run the hotel with hidden charges!!!

Not suitable for Berlin 'city breaks'

We booked in good faith and based on the hotel profile that we would be staying somewhere with reasonable access to the city of Berlin (as you would normally expect with a city break deal). However this was unfortunately not the case.

The hotel location is the very end of a train line, on the northern outer skirts of Berlin. It takes approximately 40 mins (plus changes and waiting) on trains to get into the city of Berlin (and up to 1.5 hours to Schonefeld airport); in the grand scheme this may not seem so bad however the local area has nothing much for recreational visitors and very limited public-transport access late at night. This proved to be awkward for us when we went for dinner (we reiterate that there is nothing local) and had to pay 30euro for a cab home - which we were lucky to find! - from the nearest, and very quiet, interchange station as trains that far out stopped at midnight.

In terms of the hotel itself, it is fine; it didn't have the '4 star' comfort we were hoping for but the standard does vary from country to country and in fairness to the venue it was well maintained, clean and tidy. The room felt very geared to business guests and the hotel seems highly suitable for that purpose.

In the end, we stayed the first night and after weighing up all the factors decided to move to somewhere else in East Berlin with better access to the city heart and attractions and so were able to make the most of our 4 day visit to this wonderful, historical destination.

The hotel staff are all very professional, helpful and friendly. The hotel is clean and well maintained. The only downside to this hotel is the lack of air conditioning. The top floor corridors get really hot and have no ventilation. This makes it hard to keep the rooms cool even with the windows open.

Very clean and neat rooms of very good quality. Large size bedrooms with plenty of room. Hot water showers, and a nice big fan which was very welcome in this warm weather! Didn't use the spa or the restaurant facilities but the food in the restaurant at breakfast time looked very appetising!

Great hotel, easy to commute to the city

The hotel was in an excellent location, a five minute walk from the S-Bahn which was a 40 minute ride into the centre of Berlin. Next to hotel were supermarkets, pharmacies, bakeries and other useful ammenities for travellers staying in the area for more than a couple of days. The staff were very friendly and helpful too. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to visit Berlin as the cost of the hotel was far less than those in the centre of the city.

Out of the way... But ok.

The upside to this hotel is the price and peace you will get by not being in a busy urban centre. However the downside is this hotel is at least a 40min train ride to Berlin centre. There is no AC except for a fan that blew dust all over the room. If your on a budget this hotel works well but If not perhaps something closer to Berlin Centre would be better.

On a side note there is a fabulous Greek restaurant with the nicest staff and huge portions only 10 min walk from this hotel- Syrataki I think it was called. Worth checking out!!!

Mercure Hotel Hennigsdorf

A typical chain hotel, situated in a peaceful town close to shops, banks and cafes and a 10 minute walk from the bus and train stations. The S bahn service into Berlin worked superbly, runs every 20 minutes and takes around 35 minutes to the city centre. We didn't opt for breakfast as it's too costly and there's a great cafe 5 minutes away which serves superb food at less than half the price. We used the restaurant for dinner one evening but were disappointed. In our opinion we got better food and at less cost at the riverside restaurants in Berlin. But the staff were faultless; helpful, friendly and smiling. We would certainly come back again but bear in mind there's absolutely nothing here for kids.

Learn about a fantastic if scary local history

Excellent staff. My limited deutsch was complimented by their understanding of English. 20 minutes from the centre of berlin by train ( get a 48 hour ticket from shoenfeld
airport for 20 euro's and travel anywhere) it was quite nice to see more of the old east Germany. Excellent base for your average tourist. They were accommodating on day of departure keeping bags foc up until 6pm without question. Even the fire alarm was relatively painless. Fueurvehr attended very quickly even for a false alarm.

Smoking room is the standard??

Temperature above 25 degrees, no aircondition and a thick smell of cigar was our first impression of the room. At the reception we were told that if we wanted another room we would have to pay additional 30 euro for an upgrade, as no other rooms were awailable. Even if our confirmation of the room clearly stated that we ordered a non-smoking room we were left with no other choice, and it was not possible to cancel the booking and get money back. After several complaints we were able to get the upgrade cheaper.

Das ganze Hotel ist nicht nur in die Jahre gekommen, sondern dort herrscht maximaler Sanierungsstau. Die Teppiche auf den Fluren und Zimmern haben Löcher, sodass man den Estrich sieht. Es riecht nach Urin. Die Wände haben seit Jahren keine Farbe mehr gesehen und sind zudem beschädigt. Die Amarturen sind leider einfach nur widerlich und man mag sich mit dem Wasser aus dem Wasserhahn nicht mal die Zähne putzen. Nachts läuft durchgehend eine Lüftung, die das schlafen fast unmöglich macht.
Das Personal war sehr nett und bemüht, was den Gesamtzustand des Gebäudes aber nicht wett machen konnte.

Extremely dirty room! One of the most dirty hotel rooms I have ever stayed in (and I have tried a lot). So much old dust under the beds and in every corner. And a yellow sticky pool of something on the floor in the bathroom (did the previous owner had a dog in the room that peed on the bathroom floor?). Complained about the dirt in the room at the reception the next morning. When we came back in the evening the room had been cleaned a bit better. 90 % of the dirt under the beds was removed but still a lot of dirt and dust in every corner. What a shame! They should fire the cleaning staff or teach them how to clean properly. Got a quiet room with window facing the backyard. Breakfast was OK if you avoid the old grumpy lady (I’m afraid she will suffer from a heart stroke if she tries to smile). The hotel has a great potential with nice rooms (if they were cleaned thoroughly) and a nice location. The staff at the reception was very friendly and helpful.

Bei Ankunft altes nasses Handtuch im Zimmer liegen gelassen. Dusche defekt und keine Seife im Spender. Selbst nach Ausbau wurde die Seife nicht getauscht, bis zur Abreise blieb dieser Zustand. Flasche Wasser, 5.10€, in anderen Hotels zur Begrüßung kostenlos. Alles in allem besteht hier Verbesserungsbedarf!

Ok, das Hotel ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Wichtig war uns das es sauber war und die Betten bequem.
Dies war es total.
Auch das Frühstück ist vollkommen in Ordnung und ausreichend.

Zustand ist schlecht. Risse im Teppich, heraushängende Steckdosen etc. Bräuchte ein Generalsanierung. Das Bett war sauber.
Frühstück über Expedia mithebucht. Buchung nicht gefunden. Dafür aber extra Frühstück beim Check-Out verrechnen wollen, obwohl abgelehnt. 18€ extra machen wollen. Freundlichkeit geht auch anders, in dem Hotel. Absolut nicht zu empfehlen.

Schöne fassade aber das hotel ist in die jahre gekommen. Möbel beschädigt, teppich kaputt und alles schon älter. Aber sauber und für eine nacht auf jeden fall ausreichend.

Overall good, but have potential for much better

We've stayed in Wyndham Garden hotel for one night on our road trip through Central Europe. The hotel is easy accessible from the highway and also easy to go back. The facility itself is older but well maintained. Room was clean and it is helpful that the check-in time is up until midnight. All in all I would say that it was nice stay.

There are parts that I don't agree as for example:
- House pets are welcome but be aware that the charge of 10 EUR is PER PET which is not well explained on their page.
- Parking fee is 11 EUR per day, although most of the area around the hotel has free parking between 20:00 - 08:00

By far the biggest problem is that their payment system is not synchronized with the booking platforms where they are advertising. I made my booking through Hotels.com and although the selected option was pay at the property the money for my stay were reserved/booked from my account the moment I did the check-in, next morning on checkout I needed to pay the same amount again and fast forward 9 days later when I am writing this review nobody had the time to cancel that transaction. So unless someone refuse the transaction I will need to wait 30 days before my bank is able to do something. Have this as a heads-up in case you are traveling with a strict budget.
