When I arrived the elevator wasn't working, I had to carry my luggage up to the 4th floor with no help from the front desk. I wouldn't recommend that hotel to anyone. It's scary. The night shift attendant was very rude to me when I asked him for a water fountain. He told me \"there's water in the bathroom.\" That's not a good place to stay.

Very bad stay

I had a disappointing stay at this hotel.

First, the lift was out of order for two days, which was extremely inconvenient, especially since I was staying on the 4th floor. Despite raising the issue, nothing was done to resolve it, and at check-out, no one even asked how my stay was. Very poor customer service.

The real issue came with a housekeeping staff member. Around 10:00 am, as I was opening my door, she approached me and asked if I wanted my room serviced. I politely requested that she return later as I needed time to get ready. She responded very disrespectfully, chewing gum, and said in German (which I understood) that it had to be done now or not at all.

I only needed new towels, so I went inside to gather the used ones. Without asking for permission, she entered my room, emptied the bin, and handed me two new towels while I gave her mine. To make matters worse, one of the towels had hair all over it, which is both unhygienic and unacceptable.

I left my room around 10:30 am, so there was still plenty of time for housekeeping to return later, but her insistence on cleaning at that moment, paired with her rude attitude, was completely unnecessary.

Additionally, my room was located in a very noisy area, making it hard to rest. There was also no hairdryer, which I found strange for a hotel.
I won't be returning or recommending this hotel to anyone.

Avoid this hotel (you’ve been warned)

This was a horrible experience. The room was dirty, dingy, hot, bug infested, noisy and uncomfortable. I could smell cigarette smoke in my room from people smoking. The bathroom is very small and poorly designed. The breakfast was below average. I was at the hotel for an event nearby and other people also commented on the hotel being a dump. The manager of the hotel is rude and mean spirited.

Central Hotel is located on the U6 BVG metro line. Work is being done on the U Holzerhausen Station but there are frequent shuttle buses that take you to Kurt Schumacher station where you transfer from the bus to the Underground metro train. It takes about 30 minutes to get into town. The hotel provides a nice breakfast. There are about a dozen free parking spaces on the hotel property, on a first come first served basis. Free street parking is a backup plan if all the hotel parking spaces are occupied. I stayed for a week and had a wonderful time in Berlin.

Worst experience. Far from the city centre and the area around the hotel did not feel safe at all. Used old fashioned keys where the lock was always jammed. The toilet never flushed and there were bed bugs all over the bed. The workers hardly spoke English and the food at breakfast was all stale. The walls were not soundproof and you could hear neighbouring rooms also having trouble with jammed doors at every hour. Nothing positive about this place at all, do not reccomend. As a woman who was travelling solo, i was shocked i made it out of there alive

Clean hotel, simple breakfast buffet

The location of the hotel is not a typical holiday location: In the backyard, you find the tram station, in the front the Tegel jail (JVA Tegel).

The hotel itself could definitely use an update, but don't let yourself bother by this description: The personal is friendly, the parking is for free (but limited; anyway, in Berlin use the public transport and not your car!), the jail itself is also worth a look. Behind it, there is a park; on the Bernauer Straße you will find a supermarket with good quality food.

The price for the rooms is ok for Berlin. I had some allergy problems probably because there were feathers in the pillow. The room itself is very clean, the bathroom, too.

The flushing did not work (room 228), but I will inform the manager.

Very convenient: The tram station is behind the hotel; you have to walk only some seconds from hotel lobby to the station; you have really good connections to the town.

In my room, working was not really easy as it is really small. WiFi is free.

We really enjoyed staying in Central Hotel. This is an older hotel built in what was then East Berlin. Staying there is experiencing a snapshot of time out of the 50s. I thought it was fascinating, like going to Venice. You don't go to Venice to be pampered, you go there to see a different way of life.

The hotel is located right next to a taxi stand and the subway. We walked to an Aldi's grocery store two blocks away. The breakfast was plentiful, with eggs, cereals, sausages, yoghurts, fruits and two baskets of fresh breads. The hotel is older, but it has lots of character and everything was sparkling clean.

I enjoy staying in older homes and hotels. This hotel is like a glimpse into a different world.

Nice but basic hotel near the U6

This was my second stay at Central Hotel. Both times I found the hotel to be basic but comfortable, with an excellent breakfast. During my last stay, the internet was not working for the first part of my stay but was fixed later and worked well for the duration. The hotel is close to shopping and restaurants a short walk away, and is very close to the U-Bahn station, which is the primary reason why I selected the hotel. However, the hotel does not accept American Express, so plan ahead if using this card for business.

Basic hotel, only for one night

I stayed at this hotel as I needed to catch an early flight. Otherwise I would not chose to stay there. The room was cold and bland, tiny TV, no hair dryer. Rooms were tidy, but you could hear people at the corridor, not good door isolation. Breakfast was very basic, there was not even coffee. Otherwise parking was ok, slept alright.

So perfect for an early morning flight. Staff were wonderful. 15€ taxi to tegel airport.right next to Ubahn 6 line.15min to friedrichstrasse station which is near the river. Decent breakfast that starts at 4:30am so we could get something to take with us.

The hotel allows smoking in the rooms, so it stinks. It's conveniently located near a train station, but that makes it a little noisy.

The room was clean and we just needed a place to sleep and charge our phones, so it worked for our needs. There is no onsite parking, so keep that in mind.

I think the best thing about the room was the döner stand right outside. Those guys were great. We enjoyed a beer and döner before bed.

Finding the hotel was tricky, with the reception on the side street. The parking across the street was a worry, as it meant taking in all luggage. The breakfast buffet was excellent, something for everyone. I slept well, and it served my needs. Not a resort by any stretch of the imagination.

Terrible place even if you're a smoker...

Non-smoking room was on a smoking floor smalling like a dutch coffee shop. The room had smoke still standing in the air making breathing difficult. No WIFI in the room, the heating did not work although it was winter time. Hotels.com charged more for teh room than advertised and are reluctand to help when sending them a complaint email. Room was advertised with lightproof curtains but they were not. Staff was very friendly but couldnt help much.

The proximity to Tegel is a real plus with this hotel, and there's a taxi stand right outside the front door; being cheap, I took the U-Bahn and then a bus to the airport for €2.70, and that worked perfectly. The facility is in desperate need of an upgrade; everything reeks of the '60s if not the late '50s. In the morning, the lobby turns into the place to gather your breakfast food; there is a separate room with tables and chairs for eating. The internet access, for me, never functioned properly, so that was an unwanted inconvenience. The bedroom was unrelievedly dark.

Good but need goods.

Just 30 seconds walk from subway station. 20 minutes to Berlin central station. 20 minutes to the airport. Perfect place to stay. The room is clean and nice hotel staff. The hotel has minimum equipment. No air conditioner, no coffee makers. They will rent hair dryer on request. Not recommended at summer hot season, but highly recommended after mid September.

Perfect for one person, and a quick night stay. The hotel is right beside the train station, and very near the airport. It's no frills, but offer great value for the price. There's a great breakfast buffet, the rooms are small but very clean. Carpets are new and there's a small TV and fridge. It's perfect for a solo traveler but cramped for two.

We booked the hotel for its closeness to Berlin's airport Tegel, as we had an early morning flight and 2 young children.
The hotel is OK for an overnight stay, but no more. Rooms are small, beds are not very comfortable, but ok to sleep on for a night or two. We were unlucky enough to stay during a hot spell in Berlin of nearly 100 degrees Fahrenheit (38 degrees Celsius). The lack of airconditioning made the night almost unbearable.
Breakfast seemed OK according to my husband and son. A nice variety of items.
The hotel has parking on a first come first serve basis, with only 10 spots (max) available. Those are hard to get into and out. However, if you're used to driving and parking in Germany it may be easier. We had an extended hatchback wagon and it took a little bit of maneuvering.
Overall, it's an OK hotel to stay for a night or two, but that's it. I like the closeness to the airport, but if I had to look for a hotel again, I wouldn't choose it unless I had no other choice.

This was our second stay at Central. A men at front desk welcomed us: sorry, we have no room available, your reservation was till 6 p.m. It was shocking! Happily I printed out the reservation confirmation and showed it to the men, which was not nice at all. There was no word about 6 p.m. expiration of our reservation. Initially the man said he had a single room which can be used as a double room. Then he charged me a full price for a double room. When asked if it is fair to charge a double room fee for a single room he said he gives us a double room. It is hard to comment... The room was small and not comfortable. Bed linen were smelling badly as used previously by a smoker.

The interior is dark (saving electricity is fine, but brighter walls might have made it less dreary). No a/c, so kept window open. Heard Ubahn all night, although quiet otherwise. People smoked on balconies, which I smelled in my room.
Staff is polite, one lady in particular who works at the front desk (has short brown hair) has an awesome persoanlity that brightens up the place.
Breakfast is pretty decent. Breakfast nook is good.
Good for one night if taking flight next day (not even 2 minutes from Ubahn and about 15 minutes with public transit to airport).
If visiting Berlin, something closer would be better.
Wifi only works in lobby.

Basic hotel with basic services close to Tegel. About 15 minute cab ride. Train station around the corner. Not many dining options around. Internet wasn´t working due to maintenance according to manager. I guess if you want a cheap hotel to spend the night before catching an airplane the next morning it is ok.

Sehr laut, selbst wenn die Fenster geschlossen sind. Da es an einer großen Kreuzung liegt, sollte man lieber ein Zimmer nach hinten raus buchen.
Ansonsten ist und war alles okay, kleines Frühstück, was völlig ausreichend ist.
Für eine Tasse Kaffee oder Kakao muss man leider viel zahlen, das ist weniger schön.
Ansonsten ist das Hotel okay, wenn man für ein paar Tage eine Unterkunft benötigt. Zimmer werden täglich gereinigt, war immer alles perfekt.

Das Hotel liegt zwischen einer viel befahren Straße und der U Bahn.Sehr freundliches Personal und wirklich gutes Frühstück.Die Zimmer sind sauber aber schön sehr alt und schlicht.Der Minifernsehen ist der einzige\"Luxus\".Kleine Dusche und sehr weiche Matratzen.Wir hatten erst ein Zimmer in dem die Matratze auch noch durchgelegen war.Auf Nachfrage hat man uns ein anderes Zimmer bekommen.

Dieses Hotel ist nur etwas für Leute, die keinen Selbstwert haben, die keine Ansprüche stellen, die es mit sich vereinbaren können, sich schäbig und ignorant behandeln zu lassen. Dass dieses Hotel in die Jahre gekommen ist, ist wahrlich positiv formuliert: Die allermeisten Universitäten sind moderner. Hier ist überall Teppichboden, Wände sind holzvertäfelt, im Badezimmer riecht es feucht, trotz Lüften steht die Luft im Zimmer, das Fernsehbild ist extrem grell, selbst habe ich eine Spinne erledigt, Spinnweben vom Duschvorhang gebraust, keine Minibar, kaum warmes Wasser, die Frühstücksauswahl ist auf dem Niveau der 1990er. Der Kaffee war ungenießbar, das Wasser für Tee viel zu kalkhaltig, die Präsentation der Frühstücks wahrlich lieblos. Von Willkommenspräsenten ganz zu schweigen. Unter den Bettdecken konnten wir nicht liegen, diese sind schwer wie Blei, die Matratzen aus Gummi, da schlafe ich selbst im Krankenhaus besser. Als Allergikerin hatte ich es hier extrem schwer, überhaupt Luft zu kriegen.
Die Angestellten sind schwerhörig und außerstande, die simpelsten Fragen zu beantworten. Mein Glück war, dass ich mich in der Gegend zuvor schon ein wenig auskannte und mir selbst zu helfen wusste.

Sehr in die Jahre gekommenes Hotel

Ein Hotel was wirklich in die Jahre gekommen ist. Eine alte Dusche, ca. 50cm hoch der Einstieg. Schlechte Beleuchtung, um sich als Frau fertig zu machen. An der Rückwand vom Bett, ist eine Leuchtstoffröhre als Nachttischlampe angebracht, an der man sich den Kopf stößt, wenn man sich im Bett hinsetzt. Das Licht grellend weiß. Geht gar nicht. Wände vertäfelt und Decke noch mit Styroporplatten, wie aus den Siebzigerjahren. Keine Ablage für Kosmetiktasche im Bad. Flachbildfernseher sehr klein und dann noch unscharfes Bild. Gardinen verdunkeln nicht groß, sodas ab 5 Uhr die Sonne reinscheint.
Zimmer zur Straße raus, Lärm von draußen, da direkt die Kreuzung vor der dem Hotel ist.
Eingangsbereich stinkt nach kaltem Rauch. Parkplätze extrem eng, wenn man einen bekommt. Positiv war, das Bett war gut und das Frühstück auch.
Alles wirklich sehr einfach, dafür einfach zu teuer.

Parken und WLAN minus Punkte

Habe eine Übernachtung gebucht.
Als erste, eine Baustelle. Die Kreuzung ist unübersichtlich. Vor dem Hotel ein paar Parkplätze mit sehr engere Zufahrt und engeren Park buchten. Kein WLAN auf unserem Zimmer. Frühstück mäßig.
Preislich ist OK.

Går ej att sova .

Hotellet är slitet och ligger i en stor fyrvägskorsning. Det gör att det är livligt och tutande och motorer blir runt. Att ta sig till hotellet från centrum är besvärligt att ta lång tid då de bygger om tunnelbanan och gjort det under flera års tid. Hotellet är erbjuder frukost i priset och det är en väldigt spartansk frukost men ok. Personalen är väldigt trevlig och hjälpsamma. Dock under sommaren så blir det extremt varmt i rummen och för dem som inte kan sova med Högt oljud måste ha fönstren stängda och det blir för varmt då det finns inget ac. Jag skulle rekommendera hotellet vintertid inte annars.

Easy access to the city and to the hotel also.
The only little problem there is no market or shops near by.
