The area was very poor and looked rundown and unsafe. The rooms were tiny with little room to maneuver. Shower and bathroom was tiny. Overall not recommended for the price we had to pay.

Loved this hotel. Located very close to the airport. The reception was very nice and accommodating. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The area the hotel is located in was very quiet and conveniently next to small eateries and Aldi, a supermarket where you can pick up water and snacks if needed. Bed was extremely comfortable. Close to a bus that will take you to the nearest train station (8 min away) that will get you into central Berlin. Overall, would highly recommend.

An odd location closer to the airport; it takes a bus and subway combination to get to the city center. Beds not that comfortable, threadbare pillows as thin as a sheet. Bathroom had an unpleasant smell. Ran out of tissues and towels and mat for shower was taken away. Was charged extra for breakfast; not enough food one morning, almost no coffee the next, and no seating the last time. They seemed overwhelmed.

Everything great except it is not very near the downtown area. Not anywhere near any mainstream restaurants/ German restaurants or bars. Only ethnic, mostly Turkish, Indian , Misdle Easten or Vietnamese restaurants abound. I had difficulty finding places to eat in. Parking also an issue.

Unfortunately the hotel is not as it is advertised. The description states that it is in Mitte, and unfortunately it was very far away from the said part of the city. Bus connections are ok, and the area is fine (kind of industrial) but I wish we knew that in advance... The pictures are very nice, but the hotel was a bit old and rundown, especially the lounge area. Note, that they only have a reception between 6am and 10pm, so if your flight is delayed, etc, there is no way you can get in.
The wifi is just ridiculous, could not even load Google Maps, and you had to pay for extra connection, which frankly seems unfair, given that the hotel was 80-90 euros per evening.
The staff was nice, and was trying to be helpful, but I wish they would update the location on the map. Also, the rooms were clean, which is guess is positive.

Room was far too hot. No A/C during a very hot summer. I arrived at 10pm and the room was like a sauna. Very little sleep as I couldn’t cool the room down. Water was available but it had been in the room all day and was very warm. No fridge to cool it down. Room was clean and fresh but these two issues would stop me staying again.

One of the better hotels we’ve stayed in. A little far from the nearest S-Bahn but an easy walk and plenty of bus stops near. Very close to Tegel airport.

Cheerful hotel with very welcoming and friendly staff. Extremely helpful and will do anything for you.

The room was just the right size for a couple and the bed was huge and very comfortable. Very clean and tidy throughout. No air con but there was a large fan supplied. A pity there was no fridge in the room. Especially with the temperatures.
Lovely little roof top with seats where you can go for a drink/smoke. Spent a few hours up there last thing in the evening.
Supermarket directly across the road and a smaller shop nearby too.

Would definitely recommend !!!

I had a nice stay at Alfa Hotel. Nice location , near my conference venue, accessible to taxi, a little walk to bus station. The room was clean, my bed was made every day, felt safe.
However, it is not smoke free, had to open windows to let the smoke smell out.
My flight was canceled the day before but the reservation was kept for the next days.

The receptionist desk closed at 10 PM but had access to a back door. I like the breakfast and the waitstaff.

All in all, it was good.

On checking in we were first told that our reservation had been cancelled!! After five minutes of phone calls, the reception staff told us that the problem had been rectified. We could have done without that! However the rest of the stay was very satisfactory. In particular the breakfast was excellent.

Booked 3 twin rooms. Got 3 rooms with 2 single beds with a double mattress on top. So I had 2 rooms with 2 males sleeping in the same bed and 1 room with a male and a female who are not a couple sleeping in the same bed. Not what I booked!

Renovated, everything is very clean and new, like the bathroom and furniture, modern design. Very friendly staff. I arrived early and got my room ahead of check-in time.
The bathroom and sink is very small though and not enoug room to put things. Would be nice if they fix any shelves (there are none) so you can put your stuff.
Very good for the price definitely.

Great staff! The room had space and goox wifi. Street parking is non-existent, but for 12 euros, you can park under the hotel. It us close to Berlin's Tegel Airport with excellent access to the city bus/underground.

5 minutes later no one came

I phoned again and was told to go to the side door punch a code into this number pad and a key came out with my room number

Whilst I suspect they speak English I spoke to the man in German. I cannot guarantee what would have happened had I not spoken German

A classic case of “don’t judge a book by its front cover” Despite the surrounding location and overall outlook, the room décor was great, WIFI worked well and beds are comfy. If you are coming by car, the hotel does offer a limited space but secure parking facility (It does cost extra) Breakfast is average. They also offered a rent a bike service on site which is great. The only gripe is that there was no air conditioning and although there was a fan provided in the room, it may not be sufficient enough for the warmer days.

To me, air conditioning in a hotel room is absolutely essential in the summer and this is a major factor when I'm choosing a hotel room to book. The hotel specifically advertises as having air conditioning in its rooms so I was rather put out when I got to my room and there was blatantly none. The room was like an oven when I arrived. So I went to reception and told them the situation and I was advised there was a \"device\" in the cupboard. Thinking the device was some kind of air con system, I went back to my room and looked in the cupboard. There was a desk fan. A desk fan. On what planet does a FAN constitute air conditioning? If there is no air conditioning, fine, but you cannot advertise a hotel room as having air conditioning when there is a desk fan in the cupboard. Ridiculous.
The photos of the room are extremely misleading - they make the rooms look large and spacious. Well, they aren't. They're tiny.
For some reason, the lights are always off in the corridors so it is literally pitch black.
The maids came in the room every day. Though \"maids\" might be a bit of a stretch. All they did was make the beds (not even replace the sheets) and replace the towels. That is it. They do not even take the rubbish - my rubbish was in the bins and all piled up on the chair in the room and they simply refused to take it away. On my penultimate day, I came back to find they had left my room door open! Thankfully I had taken my valuables with me!
Honestly, it isn't great.

The hotel was good and comfortable and the breakfast buffet was nice. It's a little bit far away from the city center but it's very near to a bus stop so it's manageable. It doesn't have air conditioning but the weather was nice and they had a fan available just in case you got hot.

I booked this to visit a friends wedding so was not to fussed about the location per se.

The room was very good, spacious and well equipped. The staff were OK, its a very small hotel, so they weren't overly attentive.

The only downsize was that our room faced the road and the hotel is on the corner of a junction. Although traffic in the area was very low, at night traffic noise echoed around the corner and made it impossible to sleep with the windows open. Berlin was suprisingly humid in June.

Hence good hotel. Try not to get a road facing room, if your a light sleeper.

as a regular visitor to Berlin I have stay at many hotels in the city.I have found my new place to stay on my next visits.From thetime I checked in I knew this place was going to be right for me.all though it is not in the middle of the city you still have access to metro lines 500 feet outside the front door which can take you to a ubahn staion.

The hotel is an easy 20 minute ride from Tegel and 20 minutes bus into the city center. There are lots of great restaurants in the neighborhood. Several museums within walking distance.

The rooms are modern, spacious and comfortable. The staff is wonderful.

I will definately stay here my next time back to Berlin.

In the midle of nowhere.

Hotel near to airport but in a very dark, isolated area. The hotel closes at 10.00 pm, no attendant. My flight was at 6.20 am and the wake up call was requested and promised but did not work. Thanks God I waked up on time to get my flight, and I had to stand up at the dark street surrounding the hotel to get a taxi to the airport with temperature of 32 grades for half an hour. I must say that the attendant before 10.00 was very polite and nice.

Good value, 3 miles from TGL

We arrived at TGL Berlin @ 7AM and our flight to Prague did not leave until 6PM. We were tired from the overnight trip from the US and rented a room at this Hotel to shower and to catch a few hours sleep. Great place to spend a night if you are flying into or out of TGL. Located about three miles from TGL in an area where you can walk to get a bite to eat. The room was a nice size for a European Hotel and most importantly the bed was comfortable and the bedding was fresh and crisp. The room and bath were very clean. The floors are not carpeted and I preferred this to the sometimes stale, stained and smelly carpet you can often find in cheaper hotels. This hotel is not where you want to be if visiting Berlin, but is perfect if you need to be near the airport.

The hotel is great, there is no complaint about it. We arrived very late (the reception is closed during the night) but there is a great system for that; we were given a code for a box outside the hotel which would provide our room key, and we could enter the hotel, so don't forget to let the hotel know you are arriving after lobby hours. The room was perfect, everything was clean and in new condition. Since there is no carpet in the room, it can be a bit noisy when you walk around, but we did not hear anyone else and I don't know if anyone heard us. The location of the hotel is not downtown but there are still many shops and restaurants nearby, and taking the bus is not that hard. We walked from the hotel towards Grosse Sterne and it took about 30-40 minutes, which we didn't mind. We took the bus back and it was fairly easy and fast.

Good value for business travel, less for tourists

Good value for the money, though a bit out of the way if you're intending to spend your time outside of Moabit or Tiergarten, as most visitors to Berlin would be. The WiFi was down during my entire stay. I can imagine many Berlin visitors might run into problems with the hotel's policy of closing at 10PM. Otherwise, the staff are friendly and responsive and there are some really excellent Turkish and Arab restaurants about a 10 min. walk away.

The man on the reception was kind enough to come up with me to check it out but he could not hear it and the hotel was booked up, so I had no option but to get used to it.

Great hotel for the price

I was surprised with the cleanliness and the comfort of this little hotel for the price I payed.
I booked only for the reason that it was pretty close to Tegel Airport. I needed a night to crush on my way to USA, so i didn't wanted to pay much for a transit hotel room.
I found this hotel thru hotels.com and I'm glad i booked it.
The front desk guy was very nice and helpful. He did schedule a cab for me at a very early hours in the am.
I recommend this hotel if you're looking to pay less and if you need a place close to Tegel Airport in Berlin. The cab was around 12 euros from there, so i'll say very decent.
So overall if it wouldn't be for location , this hotel could stand up to any 4 stars hotels.
I will recommend this to any transit thru Berlin traveller.

Hotel was nice. The neighborhood is an odd mix of industrial buildings and residential. Room is ample size, bathroom is extremely small. Staff was very nice especially the breakfast attendant. The breakfast itself was full of options and the best hot croissants! Not a ton of food near by but ample local eateries and not a far distance to central Berlin either. I would recommend this place to others.

Good deal

Pros: Easy bus access to s + u. Pleasant staff. Good breakfast. Nice garden. 10 minute to Turkish and Arabic restaurants and cafes.
Cons: no air conditioning. Small bathroom and shower.

Nice place. Close to everything.

I like my stay in this hotel. Next time I'll be back the same place. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to get a quiet place for less.
