For anyone attending an event at the Estrel Centre, the Mercure Berlin Templehof is a great location as it's a 10 minute cab ride away. There is also a huge Supermarket just minutes away for snacks.
The management and staff are extremely helpful, the rooms are comfortable and good value.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Mercure Hotel, it was quiet and clean . Staff was nice and helpful. I think it would be really nice to have a few benches outside to sit on and a laundry room that guest could use (and pay for) would be excellent. We stayed a total of 11 days and I thought the hotel had a laundry room (could have been my mistake) so we had to take our laundry out. The breakfast was excellent. We again really liked our stay and when we return next year hope to stay at your hotel again.

The hotel has its own car park - you can take the elevator straight to your room when you park.
Also - unlike many city hotels, the parking charge is very reasonable.

Avoid this hotel at all cost

I had booked to stay there 2 night for work. The hotel's air conditioning was broken and was spewing hot air, so much that it was hotter in the room than outside (in the summer). I mentioned it to the front desk and they could not care less. overnight, I was woken up in sweat due to the heat and had to call to get a fan. It was the worse night I ever had. The next day, I checked out and went else where. The front desk was apathetic and could not care. It was a terrible hotel and I would not recommend it.

Hotel was perfectly fine though a little dated and the mattress was quite worn and not the most comfortable. Large room though and a big TV with plenty of options. The room was clean but there was a very odd smell in the lobby. I liked the location and it was easy to get around the city via the nearby U-bahn station

We opted for one of the premium rooms and we were glad we did so. It was extremely comfortable, well equipped and spacious, with a good view out over the city. The room contained a safe, tea and coffee making facilities, spare bedding etc. Neukölln is not necessarily everybody’s idea of a holiday destination, but we were pleasantly surprised. It has a very cosmopolitan and buzzy feeling about it. It is within easy reach of Templehof and Hasenheide, and a short underground journey from the centre of Berlin. We would certainly stay there again.

Air conditioning didn't work - temp said 19.5 degrees but that was as low as you could go and the room was still really hot. Couldn't sleep with the window open as far too much street noise and sirens.
Showering flooded the bathroom floor as the shower screen had a gap of about 1\" above the edge of the bath

Could do much better!

I have stayed at this Mercure previously and it was quite nice, comfortable and conveniently located. I usually do recommend this hotel. On this occasion, the experience was memorable but for different reasons.
Arriving in the afternoon, there was a line of customers waiting to be checked in, my wait was 25 minutes, it took far less time in passport control than check-in. On the second day, owing to what I later learned was a flood in another room, the water supply was cut off - no one knocked on the door to explain this and as the telephone did not work in the room, I could not inquire about this. My day began with limited ability to finish my morning routine, luckily there was a bottle of water but... overall not good!
The lamps all include dim, tinted bulbs and even with each lamp turned on, the lighting is poor, even in the bathroom.
The black-out curtains would have worked perfectly but, they did not fit the window completely so, there was outside light coming into the room either in the middle where the curtains did not meet or from both sides of the wall.
The TV remote was malfunctioning so there was no way to adjust the volume.
Unfortunately the 220V outlet did not allow for a standard shaver plug to work, it required an adaptor which most experienced travellers do take with them so at least I could use this.
Little things like this do add up and does affect the overall experience whether business or leisure, I will think twice about booking at this location again.

This is a solid business class option in the area. It is not a great location for tourists, although there is an S-Bahn station just a block away that makes it easy to get wherever you want to go. For my purposes (visiting family), this hotel was very conveniently located and I would stay here again.

What really sets this hotel apart in my opinion is the quality of the staff. I had to deal with an emergency during the stay, and the staff was super helpful and kind; I really can't praise them enough.

Easy to get to the hotel on the U8 underground line and then only a few min walk. With a fantastic bakery right by the station! On this line you can easily get to all the sights and main attractions of Berlin.
The hotel was very comfortable English was spoken and service was excellent. The staff were able to help with any queries.
The room had comfortable beds and everything you would need nice toiletries and a kettle. Breakfast is a buffet with a really good choice of good food. Good hotel good value. Recommend.

Basic amenities, nice staff, but would not visit again. Hotel room was uncomfortably hot at night, unable to turn the AC any lower. Received extra pillows but they were all flat and nothing to fluff. Hotel restaurant was closed during our stay, but the bar was open. Not much variety in the bar menu, with seating feeling awkward (open area in the lobby).

Hotel is a little dated, but comfortable enough. It was the best option in the area in which we wished to stay and would have received a better rating but for:
a) It was the darkest hotel room we have ever stayed in. There were a few auxiliary lights, but no main ones and nothing to enable one to read in bed
b) The air conditioning/heating system was very noisy.

The hotel was ideally situated for our needs (I was there with 4 colleagues for a conference in another venue). A very friendly reception and my room was spacious and comfortable, though too hot and with the window open there was quite a lot of traffic noise late into the night!
Breakfast was exceptional, loads of variety and well presented. With more time I would happily have spent several hours sampling the delights.
The basic free wifi was pretty slow - I'd expect more as a business visitor in 2022!

The room was pretty big, clean and comfortable. For me the only issue is the limitation on the A/C temperature, I had to sleep with the window open in order to get the room cold enough for my comfort.
Other than that, the only comment to make is the half block you have to walk to get to the front of the hotel. There is a pretty important street, the subway station is on that one, you walk toward the hotel and when you reach a corner you have to walk 1/2 block to reach the entrance, that half block does not have a single light and there are no stores either, so, at night I'm not sure how safe it is.

The staff was super friendly and accommodating: I asked for a nespresso machine to be added to my room, so they provided it free of charge. The room was spacious and clean. The only issue for me was the size of the single bed, which was very small. I know this is standard in Europe, but it took a couple of nights to get used to it without falling off!

The building was clean, tidy up nicely, good location, close to supermarkets and eateries. The hotel breakfast was okay but bacon and sausages were too salty. Well, I replced them with mix-fruits, eggs and yummy croissants. Yes if I have something doing in that neighborhood I will use them again. Thanks for having me.

For the price, one cannot complain. The hotel is clean and comfortable with great proximity to the airport (25 minutes by Uber). Uber cost to hotel was 33 euros and taxi was 50 euros.
My one complaint is around the service. The check-in staff were very friendly but the evening staff were VERY rude. We were quite surprised and it affected our perception of the hotel.
Additionally, I had reserved a superior room and my friend reserved a standard room. We reserved separately but he was given a much nicer room with a balcony. Why did I pay the extra cash if I was only given a \"standard\" room? My recommendation is don't spend the extra money.

Breakfast was great and the service I received on check in late Monday night was also great. Nice hotel, just around the corner from a subway station and then two stops to the circle S-Bahn line, so super-convenient. Hermanstrasse is crowded with little kebab, pizza, and noodle shops. I didn't spend much time in the (very large) hotel room though. There were coffee capsules, a comfortable bed, plentiful hot water, and that was about all I needed. Only complaint was the wireless was down the last night I was there.

Lovely hotel the right location for us, set in mainly Turkish area of east Berlin great links to underground and buses, small independent bars and restaurants cheaper than the centre, great for vegan and vegetarians. Only slight moan- only 2 packets of coffee and not enough milk, but having a fridge in the room mean buying from the local store and keeping it in the room, breakfast was expensive but glorious

I can't believe this is 4 star level. It was clean and neat but incredibly basic. The only light source in the bedroom were two low light lamps, great for mood lighting but kinda useless when you need some actual light. The breakfast I only had once as it was €20 and incredibly basic, even by Mercure standards, the dining area was clean and pleasant though, if a little cramped. The staff were friendly and polite but when there was an issue with my room (two singles instead of the double I booked) they kinda just shrugged and pushed the beds together and claimed there were no other doubles free during my 4 night stay. If you told me it was a 3 star I'd have been pleasantly surprised, but as it's supposed to be a 4 star it was pretty disappointing.

Whilst the hotel was fine albeit very outdated and the price reasonable, we were so disappointed with the service. We were made to feel unwelcome for our whole stay. In particular, we had the receptionist knocking on our door asking us to check out a day earlier than our departure day. When I told her we had booked and paid until the next day she just said she would go and check the reservation and then we did hear anything from her (or get an apology for asking us to check out). That day, both cards to our room stopped working and then another receptionist was so rude and blamed us for the card not working.

I would not recommend this hotel.

This hotel compares really well to hotels which are located more centrally in the more affluent tourist area. Service was very good and the staff were really helpful and accommodating especially when we needed a late checkout which they gave us free of charge as we only needed to stay until 2pm. The room was very comfortable, spacious and clean. The local area is safe enough but does not have the upmarket shops that tourists might prefer. That said the U Bahn is literally round the corner and it is a few stops to the centre only. Having a fridge in all rooms allows you to keep snacks and drinks etc. It is a full size fridge and our room also had a 2 job cooker! I would stay here again as the price is very reasonable for Berlin

This hotel is very easy to get to as there is a U-Bahn stop just round the corner. We had a superior room and even though it didn’t have twin beds the bed was very wide and we each had our own duvet. The room was very clean and spacious with a huge window taking up one whole side of the room which made it very light and airy . There were two double wardrobes and inside one was a large fridge and a small cooking hob and sink. Ideal for when we were peckish! The breakfast buffet is huge and the staff all speak English and were very polite and helpful. Early check in can be arranged by calling the hotel directly but there is an extra charge although it is available from 10am. Plenty of local shops such as supermarkets, bakeries etc. A very pleasant stay.

It's a nice oasis of cleanliness in a somewhat dirty neighborhood. The rooms are large, which adds to the comfort. There is a subway station right around the corner, as well as a bus station.
Staff were polite and helpful.
On the down side, at 18€ (20$), it was probably the most expensive breakfast I have ever had in a 4* hotel.
