Incorrect photos on site. We did not have a coffee machine and were told the photos online have been out of date for over a year. The hotel was clean. The handwash dries out your skin so take your own (we thought it might be body wash).

The staff is always helpful and kind— Nadine, Andreas, Roan, stefan, and the italian lady at breakfast. Very clean facility and the pool and sauna is very relaxing to a tired day.The garden is nice when there are no smokers, and it’s a quiet area.
A few improvements can be made:
-the mattress is too firm
- the floors need soundproofing, i can hear footsteps all the time above me.
-the wifi is not strong. Video calls are difficult.

The design and architecture of the hotel, with large windows overlooking at the indoor terrasse/garden, combine with warm beige tones and plants made the stay very welcoming and a better experience than other hotel.

Room were clean but dust on the floor near the bed and mould in the corner of the shower was a disappointing experience. Notheless, the rain shower feature, the brightness of the room and the comfy overall made our stay great.

This place has gone downhill enormously!

I have stayed at this hotel many times over the years. It is now under new management and is much worse. The WiFi was nonexistent in my room. I complained to the front desk and they never fixed it. Also, I was in a dead zone for my cellular service, so I had no internet at all. In addition, they now charge you for use of their pool. Very disappointed! I don’t recommend.

The hotel in itself (room, lobby, pool) is clean and looks pretty good.
The front desk service was friendly and thorough, especially in the evening.
This said, the morning staff was less welcoming and not very flexible…
This proved to be a minus until the last morning when we had to speed up breakfast and check-out and felt we were in the way rather than guests.

I booked this hotel and read the reviews afterwards, I was then worried as people had rated it very poorly. Having now stayed there I am astonished at the things they wrote, this is a lovely, clean, comfortable hotel with easy access to the centre of Berlin but quiet to sleep there away from the city bustle. It has a sauna, swimming pool and car park facility. A short 6min walk to a convenience store and bus and train station. If I had to criticise it's just that there is no lunch or real snack facilities within the hotel. However the staff are very helpful and even offered to store snacks and soda or beer for us in their fridges. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Really nice big rooms, good shower, very comfortable beds. Quiet area so no disturbances at night.
Breakfast was a little limited, but all v nice quality.
The location is slightly out of the way, not quite hipster Kreuzberg. All cafes etc are a good 10-15 min walk away, and the metro station is also 10 mins.
Nicest thing we did locally was an evening walk along the canal side up to Admiral Bridge, where there were huge numbers of locals sitting along the bridge and river bank, having picnics, sharing drinks and listening to music.

Modern, new hotel. Minimal design, large, spacious rooms. In a decent location.

My experience was a mixed bag because the a/c in my room stopped working, and the fact that there was no WiFi available in the rooms made it impossible to work.

There is a workspace area, but would be nice to work in the privacy of your own space.

Pool is nice, gym is just a room with a treadmill.

For the price I’m paying, I expect there to be more value, which I found not be the case because of the aforementioned problems with the ac and WiFi.

Not sure if I’ll come back here. I think there’s plenty more hotels in Berlin where you could get a better bang for your buck.

I will never book at Hotel The Yard again. The WiFi was not working, but I wasn't informed of this until I had already checked in, arrived in my room and called down to the desk. The staff explained that they were waiting for some necessary piece of equipment, but no one seemed to be actively working to solve this problem in the three days that I was booked at the hotel. That is unacceptable where I come from (California)! Many people book a hotel room with the expectation that they will be able to work remotely while there (especially in the wake of the pandemic). WiFi has approached the status of a utility. You wouldn't rent a hotel room without electricity or water; why would you rent one without WiFi?

Perfect find, lovely new Hotel with courteous, friendly and knowledgeable staff. We needed restaurant recommendation and the suggestion of Jafo was spot on. 10 minute walk from hotel. Otherwise, the neighborhood is a bit rundown with lots of trash and neglected public parks. There is a canal nearby with a restaurant ship.

The hotel advertises itself on Expedia as having a restaurant, bar and a bistro. Those have been closed and no longer available. Staff told me that the hotel has a new owner. Minimalist would have loved the room. The room was clean but limited on everything needed for a couple. I had to ask the front desk for extra towels. One coffee cup. One set of towels. The room had a coffee maker, but only provided two capsules of coffee. No stirs and only small bottle of water. The sitting area was basically a strange pullout single bed. There was only one plastic desk chair. The floors in the room were dirty. When I asked for the room to be cleaned in our two day stay we were informed only guests staying three days would get their rooms cleaned. So we didn’t really enjoy our stay. The rating of 8.8 may have existed under the former owners, but we rated the stay as poor at best.

My partner and I recently stayed at The Yard Hotel for three nights, and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The main reason for choosing this hotel was its advertised spa facilities, but upon arrival, I was informed that the sauna and pool were out of service. There was no prior communication about this, which felt very misleading.

Adding to the frustration, the staff at check-in were unhelpful and unfriendly when I raised the issue. Instead of offering solutions or even an apology, they dismissed my concerns, which made me feel unwelcome and undervalued as a guest.

While the hotel itself may have some nice features, the lack of transparency and poor customer service left me regretting my choice to stay here. If spa facilities or attentive service are important to you, I’d recommend considering other options.

My Partner and I stayed here for a few days during the mid to late summer. We were very jet lagged from an early flight and the hotel staff was very accommodating and helped us check into our room early. They spoke English and German fluently. The room was very clean and minimal, but comfortable. We had to walk maybe 5-10 minutes in any direction to find more restaurants and access the U-bahn. We realized we were a few minutes from the Berlin/Deustche Jewish Museum and decided to visit. This is overall a lovely hotel with a good staff in a walkable location to get where you want to visit in Berlin. One thing to note, the WiFi may not connect well on upper floors, so plan ahead if you are an international traveler.

I contacted the hotel about the possibility of an early check in. The response said that they would if they could. We arrived 1 and a half hours before check in and were told that our room was ready. Only at that point, they asked for €50 for the privilege. Rubbish profiteering. At least be up front about it. The hotel was fine other than that.

Very pleasant stay at Hotel the Yard

We stayed at Hotel the Yard for 3 nights and it served us perfectly. Our room was clean and modern, had all the amenities we required except a fridge but for such a short stay it wasn't an issue for us. The location was ideal, in a quiet area but close enough to the centre of Kreuzberg. The staff were friendly and very helpful, and the cost of our stay was reasonable.

Comfy beds, nice decor, good breakfast. The only downside was that when we arrived, we were told on check-in that the spa facilities were not available because the spa was undergoing renovation. We were pretty disappointed that we hadn't been told this in advance - the renovation must have been planned for a while. We were in Berlin to run the half marathon so the spa facilities were one of the main reasons we booked this hotel. At the time the headline description on hotels.com was still 'Pet-friendly hotel with full-service spa...' so we felt we'd been mis-sold and if we'd known in advance we would have gone elsewhere. The staff offered nothing to compensate for this. When we asked for complimentary breakfast, they agreed which we appreciated - but it would have been far better service had they been proactive about it. Felt a bit duped.

I was in Berlin for a Dave Matthews show and stayed at this hotel. I gotta say it was pretty good. The hotel is within walking distance to wonderful dining, along with a friendly neighborhood pub around the corner. The hotel staff were wonderful, friendly, and helpful. The only negative was the gym/pool area being closed for renovations, which I did not know ahead of time. I appreciate though they are making renovations. I fully enjoyed waking up each morning to the sound of a bird/owl cooing/whooing so much that I recorded the sound before my departure. I would definitely stay here again.

Be aware that there are few facilities in the immediate area and that there is a 10 min walk to the tube. Near the tube there is an excellent pizza place - neon cat sign and a lovely cafe Madame?? Although not classy they are full of locals and the food and drink are good. Head to Hallesches Tor.
Hotel location very easy to get in and out of Berlin central and all main attractions.

The rooms and amenities were all properly cleaned and maintained. However, the staff was not great. We got there and they assign us an unclean room. Had to go back downstairs and wait to receive a room that was prepared for check in. We could not get new bedding until after two nights and we only were staying two nights. We asked for new towels in the morning and they did not get delivered until we called again for them. The hotel is very beautiful but the communication between employees and guests needs to be improved.

The air conditioner wasn't working in our room, but the front desk was quick to respond and tried to fix and reboot the unit. When that didn't do the trick, he immediately gave us a new room and solved the problem! We're so grateful as it was very warm during our stay.

The pros: beautiful and spacious room with the most comfortable beds and pillows! Nice shower.

The cons: This hotel is too out of the way for most of the main attractions in Berlin. Other than the Jewish Museum, there isn't much to do in the area. The towels are old and worn and barely any toiletries are provided. I would probably choose a more central hotel next time!

Liked the modern, clean style of the rooms. Especially liked the shower. It was large with a great rainfall head. Also, the toilet was in a separate room with a heavy pocket door.

Clothing storage was an issue. There are no drawers; however, they do provide a series of cubicles. The top ones are hard to reach (I'm 5'-11\"). I hate to say it but the pillows are terrible. One of the pillow is a \"body wrap\" style. All are way to soft. They should have provided upscale, conventional pillows.

Another issue is the breakfast buffet. It was decent but not great. At 19 euros, you would expect more. An annoying problem is that they seem to run out of the \"good stuff\" (i.e., bacon, sausage, pastries). We usually got there at 9:00 AM (they're open until 10:30) and the good stuff was gone.

This is a very attractively priced hotel for a comfortable and reliable decent stay! The staff is so-so. They could be nicer, very typical German and do not go out of their way to smile for you.

The breakfast is OK . Most European breakfasts are phenomenal, this just gets by.

Because they opted for minimal \"trying to be hip design-focused\" wood plank floors, it makes for horrendous horrendous noise if someone stays above you . It's impossible to not bank your bare feet against the floor unless you are consciously tip-toe-ing. The result is ferocious noise that wakes you up or inhibits your sleep!!

The location is very close to good parts of Kreuzberg, however the street itself is snooze fest boring residential, nothing cute to walk to at all.... besides the phenomenal Koenig Gallery.

If you are on a budget, this spot is superb!! If you are looking to maximize your experience in Berlin, spend more and go elsewhere

What a great stay at the Yard. The room was great and the bed super comfy; but the extra pullout bed would be probably better suited to a younger child than our 22 year old! LOL. The decor was great, the lobby super comfy, the pool and sauna so relaxing. The breakfasts were fantastic. The best part though???? The STAFF! The nicest group of people who were so welcoming, friendly, helpful. The front desk and the breakfast staff were superb every second of our 6 day trip! Wished the weather had been a little nicer so we could have enjoyed the garden.

Over priced over rated and rude

Complete waste of money overated and far to expensive given both the facilitys and location. The hotel did not have the spa area or pool open on our visit which was the main reason we picked this hotel and made up for the high price. The guy told us when checking in \"we told your booking agents it's there fault you didn't get told not ours\" Charming made worse that we had paid upfront and was refused a refund or any sort of alternative.
2nd day the lift broke and we had to use the stairs.
3rd day we wake up to to water whatsoever! No shower nothing.
£175 per room per night I don't think so not worth half.

You can find way better and cheaper hotels in Berlin, if your looking to use stairs and no spa/pool and of course no shower go anywhere but here

Modern Hotel in a nice and quite environment

The Hotel Yard has a very bright and modern optic. The rooms are big, clean and having a great standard of equipment.

The location is good as a couple of stations are very close and some nice restaurants around it

The hotel is nice. I tried to use the treadmill to go for a 30 min. run, but was not allowed. The hotel considers the gym to be part of the spa/wellness area, so I was told I’d have to pay 8 euro to use the treadmill even if I did not want to use all the other spa amenities. I think the hotel should definitely consider separating the gym from the spa. Paying 8 euro for a workout when you’ve already paid for the hotel is a little ridiculous.

There was an 8 Euro charge per person per day for the pool and fitness center and it was not worth it. The room was not as large as others during our Europe trip. Area was safe and quiet but a longer walk from subway station than desired. Staff was friendly.

Great location, near to good bars and shops but enough off the beaten track for a bit of peace and quiet. Lovely staff, very comfy beds, and great showers!
