After the quick & easy check-in procedure, the rest of our time at the \"Novotel Suites\" was shambolic!

After we parked our car in the underground carpark, we unloaded our bags, and then tried to squeeze passed all the unattended laundry trolleys in the walkway near the basement elevators.

Then, when one of the hotel's 2 elevators had finally arrived, we had to squeeze into it along with a hotel staff member and their laundry trolley.

We arrived onto our floor and then began weaving our way along the, you guessed it, unattended laundry trolley laden corridor to our room.

Finally we arrived into our room and discovered that the fish-eye lens used for the hotel’s room photos must have been of high quality, because our room prepared for 3 adults was TINY!

And the so-called \"kitchenette”, consisted of a small microwave oven (just big enough to warm up something the size of a grapefruit), a tiny sink that was too small to fill the provided leaking kettle safely, and 3 cups—that's it—no spoons, coffee or tea. Oh, I forgot—there was one 300ml bottle of water in the bar fridge for the 3 of us.

For our 5 overpriced €185p/night stay, we battled: through laundry trolley laden corridors; for the elevators; with the over-crowded foyer; and trying to sleep on the incredibly uncomfortable beds and pillows.

The only positives to warrant the 2-Star rating was the check-in process and the fact the roof didn’t leak.

I can only recommend this hotel to those who like to be inconvenienced.

Nice, clean and tidy hotel. Friendly staff, great location for getting around. Breakfast was good. Nice to have a fridge and microwave in room, but a little pointless as there were no bowls or plates or cutlery to go with it. Also no teabags.

The location was great. Very easy connection to buses and trains. Walkable to check Point Charlie.
Plus scooter and bike app hire right outside the door.
Best Vietnamese restaurant 10 min walk called Go Mumma also a large supermarket 5 min walk
Great large room for 4 people.
Breakfast was great, but very busy.
Overall the family had a good 2 night stay

Pros: Prime location, good rooms and decent breakfast. LIDL next door, and multiple resturants near by. SBahn is just there as you come out of property. Only takes about 20-25 to the airport and 10 minutes to Berlin Main. Staff were frieendly.

Cons: wait time for elevators is crazy. Room was very hot, Air Conditioning was almost non existent.

Trip with friends to visit Berlin. Hotel location was convenient, the staff were friendly and helpful, and it was good value. Only negative is that the air conditioning has limited controls and wouldn't come on until the room temperature was above 22 degrees which is warmer than I like for sleeping.

Not as comfortable as we had hoped. The air conditioner did not work and we could not keep the windows open because they faced the street and restaurant patio . The fridge did not cool items sufficiently. The bathroom was not very clean. We were woken up by another guest down the hall at 6:30 in the morning because he decided that was a good time to practice his violin.

The staff was completely rude and the air conditioning was not working. Supposedly, however it had been broken for days without an end in sight, the hotel was extremely hot and nothing was offered in a way of a refund for our terrible experience. We were just met with rude staff and no solutions.

The stay was not so good , had good experiences in the past with novotel so we went with that but the air conditioning was out of service and we could not sleep well and had to cut down one night which i got credit but would like to get the credit for the whole stay as we suffered due to heat and on a vacation we could not get proper sleep

The hotel AC didn’t work, they wouldn’t tell you in advance even though it’s 33 degrees. They offered a 20$ discount for 3 days and one free “ice-cream” that was a melted year old popsicle then charges you 7$ when you ask for water.

The beds are the most uncomfortable bed we stayed in the whole trip. Not to mention the “pull out bed” is actually half an ikea couch with no real mattress or pull out matress or pillow include

Spacious (standard room, twin beds) but first floor room means you can hear all the outside street noise and conversations. Also sometime wrong with the bathroom sink not draining normally (this made brushing your teeth slightly challenging, we opted to use the one in the toilet room after the night). The toilet is a separate room from the bathtub/showers, both slightly elevated. Reminds me of cruise ships. Overall decent but could be better. Berlin focuses on sustainability, water is potable direct from sink water.

Location and breakfast is good. AC/heating system broken for several months now so not good at all. Heard that signs stating that repairs are in the works have been there for some time now. Not sure whats the deal with maintenance but be ready to request a few fans for your summer trip. Ask if the AC/heating system issue has been resolved before booking...

Good location, nice hotel! Traveling amongst a group of three adults and there was plenty of space for everyone in the room. We were within walking distance of shops and restaurants, as well as the various tours we had booked. Very good price for what is provided!

A great hotel for our long-weekend break in Berlin. The hotel is within walking distance of many key sites, or the metro is just across the road.

Hotel was very nice, lovely snack and bar area (no food served in the evening), but the breakfast (at 22 euros per day) seemed very expensive by comparison to what you could get from a local bakery or café, so we passed on this.

A small gym is available and the surround neighbourhood felt very safe if you were considering a local run in the city.

Our only niggly issues were that our room was booked for three people and all amenities were set up and provided for two (chairs, mugs etc.) and we had an issue on one day with our room not being serviced, but the reception team sorted this issue.

We would recommend for a stay in Berlin :)

The location is good, there’s a metro right next to the hotel. The room was good in terms of size. The front desk staff needs to work in be more helpful to the guest. We had a problem with the safe box in the room, it got locked and didn’t want to open so we call front desk and they told my husband that they couldn’t help because they were too busy and couldn’t do anything. Are you kidding me how you tell a guest that ?? Our passport and other important and valuable things were in the safe box so how you dare to tell me you’re too busy to help and you can’t do anything? Worst guest service I ever experienced. They also need to improve in terms of cleanliness and/or inspect for any plagues in rooms, because there were cockroaches coming out of the microwave area.

I wanted a room in Berlin for myself and my two adult sons and this worked well. We had twin beds and a sofa bed which were all comfortable.
The small “kitchen” area was adequate for making morning coffee and heating up our porridge pots.
We liked having a toilet that was separate from the bathroom.
The shower was good.
A comfortable short stay.

Nice Budget-Type Stay in Berlin

Nice-sized room. Separate toilet room from bath. Plenty of closet/storage space. Slow and odd-working elevators, friendly staff. Extremely high price for breakfast (+22 euros!), small, cramped fitness room (but at least it had one). Housekeeper walked in our room one morning without knocking. Convenient location with a nice coffee shop and a Lidl grocery store just stpes away.

Staff overall friendly and helpful. Needed a couple of repairs done (eg leaking shower hose, clogging basin) which took a couple of days to do. Also housecleaning entered room even when ‘do not disturb’ sign was up (we weren’t there)… otherwise fine standard fare. Location is central and really accessible via public transport.

The cleaning was very poor. We first received a dirty room with hair all over the bathroom and bed. The replacement room also had some hair and dust on surfaces, and cups were dirty. Even after requesting cleaning everyday, they did not clean the room properly. The room was not vacuumed, and used cups not changed.

The hotel is very well situated close to public transport links and some tourist attractions. The hotel itself was clean and tidy and the room was plenty big enough for our needs.

Down side to this hotel is that when travelling with someone with mobility issues who cannot use the stairs with ease, there were only 2 lifts, and 1 was permanently out of order. We were on the 1st floor and when calling the lift to go down to the ground, it would skip the 1st floor entirely and go to every other floor first before coming back to the 1st which meant it was usually then full of other customers. The lift itself was also quite slow and we often spent 5/10 minutes waiting for the lift. On our final day the 2nd lift also broke down…
This is just not good enough.

Another downside was that the hotel staff were not very friendly for a customer facing environment, we saw a couple different people on the reception desks, none really willing to engage in a conversation or just a simple hello and a smile. The same goes for the housekeeping staff who we saw on the corridors.

Arrived after midday and found the rooms were not ready. However, the receptionist then changed the rooms that we had booked into ones that were next door to each other (two separate bookings) and we left our luggage there before going out for the afternoon. The rooms were large and comfortable, especially for two. We travelled with a family of four, who were sharing. The rooms were made up with new towels daily (3 night stay). The only thing that was not quite so good was that they didn't have any coffee to replenish the drinks tray in the room.

Bedbugs! After a 6 day stay at Novotel Suites Berlin City Potsdamer Platz, my wife and I were covered with bed bug bites. We found bed bugs in our suitcase when we got home.

I contacted the hotel who then told me customer relations would contact me the following Monday when they returned to work. 4 Weeks have gone by with no contact and 4 follow up emails from me were ignored. One top of the cost of the stay that resulted in our home being infested we have incurred additional costs insuring our home doesn’t become infested with these disgusting insects. A fun getaway turned into an expensive nightmare.

It’s a nice stay. Close to Berlin Wall may be 10 minutes walk, a Lidl supermarket 2 minutes walk, S Bahn 2 minutes walk. Parliament House is 40 minutes walk, you will see the gate, Jewish memorial on your way. Staff English is limited but still be able to communicate basic information. The room size is very comfortable and clean, two usb chargers on each bed side.

Good location near a supermarket for those who prefer to eat cheaply, but also good location near a Döner joint and an authentic German restaurant. Excellent location across the street from an S-Bahn station. Elevators are slow. Stairs should not be only for \"emergency use\". Door to hotel room was tricky to work with (could not open on first try many times). The room itself looked nice and spacious. Toilet with separate sink and separate door from the main bathroom was excellent. However, soap dispensers were difficult to squeeze. Cleaning of room was somewhat inconsistent, with timing on different days. A mix of good and bad so neither 1 star nor 5 stars.

Very welcoming and helpful staff. Great location, close by to numerous public transport links. Only a ten minute walk to Check Point Charlie and Potsdamer Platz. Very quiet rooms, quiet street. Really comfortable and warm rooms. Would definitely stay again, highly recommended.

This January, I stayed two (2) nights. The room was spacious and everything you need; a bath and a shower. The internet speed was fantastic.

A hotel reception is under construction; so, its very massy and unpleasant when entering the hotel. In the morning, specifically, at or about 10:18 in the morning, local German time, someone knocked on the door, and entered. It was later identified a housekeeper named Rosa who ignored the sign DO NOT DISTURB.

You can hear other people in adjacent rooms. The heat was moderate but not as warm as I wished.

Lidl is around the corner. From Berlin Main Station it was 40 minutes walk or you can take Bus M41. A bus station right on the intersection. I paid 3€ via credit card (tap pay) on the bus from Berlin Main Station to Anhalter
