Per and Fanny on the reception desk were SO helpful and welcoming. I had a wonderful view from my lovely room that was switched when I arrived. I was so happy. The breakfast was so delicious and fresh and healthy. The train is next door. The leaflets in the front reception told me about galleries I didnt' know about and went to (Helmut Newton). I was round the corner from the Neue Gallery museum. Close to so many things. Gropius Bau gallery so close. Checkpoint Charlie. and SUPER easy to get to from the airport. The bar/lounge/terrace is so warm and welcoming. The sandwiches in the reception late night are a great idea and were fresh and reasonable price. WONDERFUL experience. I didnt want to leave.

The breakfast was amazing and was the highlight of the hotel. It was a little difficult to get my room cleaned, but it did happen eventually. The room was a little cold and they could have provided a few more blankets during the winter months. It was very close to the 'U' stop, but it is a few blocks from the Potsdamer Platz 'S Bahn'. Future guests should not expect to see a street sign from Potsdamer Platz to 'Gabriele-Tergit-Promenade'. When my phone was not working properly, it was a little difficult for me to find after coming from the airport. There may have been a sign at one point, but all the signs around Potsdamer Platz only indicate the square.

We had requested that our room be made up each day. When we came back later that night, the room was as we left it. Very poor. When you offer a service, then please carry it out. When I enquired and asked a reduction, they just said could do nothing.

The location is perfect for walking around or catching public transit. I'm very happy I chose a suite. The room was wonderful and I especially loved the bath tub. Breakfast was always delicious. The bar was fabulous! Friends and I would gather and relax after a long day. The indoor and outdoor spaces were perfect.

Well located hotel to explore central Berlin. Was able to walk to Brandenburg Gate in approx 10-15 minutes. Room clean and functional. Only negative was the one night I wanted to go to the bar / restaurant there was a corporate event on which was a little disappointing as it meant I had to go further afield.

It was clean, staff were friendly and helpful and the location was ideal for transport being only a 7 mins walk to the Potsdamer Plaza with its multiple transport options. Most of the key attractions were within walking distance.
The only slight gripe was that we had to ask for extra sachets of coffee (2 sachets of normal coffee were provided. Overall it was good value for money for the 4day stay.

No A.C. and their “cooling” doesn’t exist

The facilities are great. Nice breakfast however expensive. We had a 5 night reservation but asked for a refund after 2 very uncomfortable hot relatively sleepless nights. I don’t recommend this hotel in the heat of the summer. While the dining and public spaces remain cool, rooms have basically zero cooling due to their environmental standards. I was told at reception to keep the curtains shut during the heat of the day and open windows at night. Are you serious? Ok, the price seemed good but I still paid good money expecting to stay comfortable. So, if you want to stay cool in the summer, do not book a room at Scandic. The staff did help us by offering a new room near the center of the hotel, away from sunny windows but even that wasn’t good enough for us. Granted, it was 30+/90+ outside but there was no relief in the room. I brought a travel fan which got me through 2 nights but my family cooked. It was a really nice room but would have been way nicer had it been able to stay cool. Their system will only cool 3-6 degrees below the outside temperature. If it’s 32C out, that still means 26 in the room…but our room never got below 28.5!!! Call me a spoiled American but I’ve had more comfort in a $6 room in Thailand. Do not book scandic in the summer and I’m wondering how cold it is in the winter. In the end, we got a refund for 3 nights and we stayed cool at the Marriott Potsdamer platz which I highly recommend.

The Scandic is generally a good choice.

We travelled with our two kids and booked a room with bunk bed for the little ones. The room was spacious and clean. As the hotel name suggested we expected Scandic design, which we like. However, we could have done without the IKEA quality as some of the furniture had visible signs of wear. The old school bath tub with a half glass water screen and the fixtures in the bathroom didn’t help the impression of a slightly dated hotel. Nothing shocking, but also nothing to write home about.

The price was ok though, so I shouldn’t complain too much.

The service was very good, courteous and always helpful.

The location is excellent with easy access to public transportation.

The breakfast buffet deserves a honorary mentioning: excellent!! Don’t miss it!

Room was very basic, rates were expensive and hotel was extremely busy, meaning breakfast etc was a chore. Online presence makes the hotel appear like a boutique, individual property but is actually a hige conference hotel with thousands of rooms. No obvious Scandinavian influence other than some poor decor.

We really enjoyed staying in this hotel. Cleaned facility, walkable distance to Malls & restaurants & U-Bahn (U2) station, surrounding felt very safe, nice & quiet in the evening, comfy bed, good hospitality, and best of all—- excellent breakfast! We traveled over 40 countries in the past 20 years and stayed in accommodations from AirBnB to 5 stars hotel, this one is worth to mention; we will stay here again next time .

My stay at Scandic exceeded all expectations. The hotel is clean, quiet, and conveniently located near the U and S trains. The staff were exceptional; communication was seamless, and their service was incredibly accommodating. Cameron, who checked me in, was both kind and understanding. Since my room was ready ahead of time, I was able to check in early, drop off my luggage, and explore the city right away. One evening, my ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign was misplaced in the hallway, but the staff quickly provided a replacement, even late at night (around 10 pm). I truly appreciate the hospitality and comfort during my stay, and I will definitely return the next time I’m in Berlin!

Scandic Berlin Potsdamer Platz offers the best value to anyone visiting Berlin as a tourist. It's located in an extremely convenient spot with a subway station entrance within a 2-3 minute walk. We had absolutely zero issues and inconvenience getting to the hotel from Berlin Brandenburg Airport when we came to Germany and on our way back. Do not waste money on Uber / Taxicab - public transport in Germany is super clean, safe and convenient. Most major landmarks are within walking distance - we really enjoyed walking to the Museum Island, Brandenburg Gates and Bundestag. There is a nice little mall located 300 meters away (4 minute walk) which has plenty of dining options to explore. You can also buy some snacks and water there if you wish. It became our favorite during a week-long stay. Hotel rooms are super clean and well maintained. Hotel staff is super polite and helpful. The breakfast was worth every penny and is the best hotel breakfast I've seen. This place is a jewel. Will recommend it to all my friends and will stay there myself.
