Good place for a short stay in Berlin. I was able to leave my luggage at the hotel before check in. Friendly and professional staff at the front desk.

Only con/peeve: check out was at 12. Housekeeping knocked around 9:00 (I was trying to catch up on sleep) and again around 10:30. I told them on the second time that I’d be staying in the room until 15 Min. before 12. They were polite about it though.

Staff are kind and helpful. Bathroom was super tiny, but functional. Room seemed dated. What I didnt realize, was the trains come by every now and then at night. I had a really long day of travel, and I kept waking up with the train sound.

Absolute shame!!! No hot water, unclean rooms with previous guests rubbish and dirty laundries in the rooms and dirty towels. We had to leave the hotel in the middle of the night because of unsuitable and unsafe rooms.

The furniture in the room was absolutely battered, with one of the bedside tables missing a handle, we only had one lamp, and the shower was extremely poorly designed- the head would move by itself to spray the entire bathroom with water when on. We completely lacked amenities and the staff were rude. The drawers of the desk in the room were filled with plastic waste?? Which was there the second we entered. Yes, the wifi is free, but it is also awful.

My first room smelled like cigarettes so I changed rooms but the second room smelled weird. I left the window open and that got rid of the smell. Also the design of the shower is pretty bad, it’s easy to get the whole floor wet.

I asked for a double bed I got two single beds pushed together the duvet was so small it should've been a child single duvet. I'm 6 foot two and the beds felt small. The bathroom great great shower toilet sink always warm in there perfect the elevator as I was moving into it The door started to close fast trapping my arm the staff were perfect nice and friendly but do yourself a favour guys stay somewhere else

Had a great stay in one of the refurbished rooms (design). Bed was really comfortable with lots of pillows and crisp white sheets. Shower room excellent and clean. Communal areas are good, can't understand why some other reviews say different. There are vending machines for cold drinks, snacks and coffee which I found very useful. The staff were all helpfull. Breakfast is excellent, especially the service from Ali and the very lovely Ofelia, always with a smile, thank you.

The place is in TERRIBLE condition. Mold in the bathroom, stained carpet, curtains not having properly, dirty walls, and rusted radiator. Could hear upstair guest walk around and the creak in their bed. Location is good to subway but not worth it. If staying here, bring eye mask and ear plugs.

Some rooms need to de updated. I stayed in a family room, and the rug had a big stain and looked a little Gross. Staff are really friendly and apologize for it.
They could not move us to another room because the hotel was full for the Marathon weekend.
We have a complimentary breakfast for the 5 days.

This hotel is one I would highly advise to stay away from. My partner and I booked 5 nights for a double room, and found it to be wholly unacceptable. At baseline, the room is clearly outdated, undecorated, and not a pleasurable stay; however, to add, the bedsheets, including the fitted sheets, comforters, and pillows were filthy. The bathroom smelled of sewage at all times, a scent that filled the entire hotel room, and had mold growing in the grout. We asked to change rooms multiple times, but were consistently denied switching to a habitable room. The best they offered was an upgrade, but the switch would be 2 days after our check in date (meaning staying in our current, unlivable room for 2 days), and then paying an additional 20€ per day for the new room.

I will say that the staff were pleasant to interact with, but seemed limited by higher management in how they could resolve the problems.

Overall, would advise staying away. There are far better options in the nearby area that are only a few dollars more per night. This hotel is far too expensive for what it is, and any perceived savings are lost when dealing with the low quality of the stay.

The cleaning staff was very friendly and attentive, but the area that the hotel was in was kind of rough. I did not feel safe walking around, especially after dark.
The biggest down for this hotel was the bet. They only offer two twin beds that you can push together to make a full. It makes her very uncomfortable sleeping, especially if you’re a couple.

Somewhat affordable. At least cheaper than most in the area.
Staff was satisfactory. Breakfast is nice to have, at $10 per person was good value. Food was average, but affordable.

Dislikes:
low quality. Carpet in the halls stained or decolored
Fixtures in the room poor. Desk was falling apart, had to reassembled it somewhat to keep it up.
Pillows very thin, felt almost like it was just the pillowcase.
Overall, a bit lower value for the price we paid, but we just needed a bed to rest at night, and that's what we got.

The hotel needs a lot of maintenance and investment. Black mould in the bathroom, uncomfortable beds. Paid for a double room, got two single beds. Not enough bedding. Pillows were absolutely terrible. Front desk staff unwelcoming, hardly looked up from their personal mobile phones when guests walked past.

Hotel was great, the reception area is really modern looking and the breakfast area is also really modern.

The price per night is also excellent however, rooms are looking really dated and a refresh to modernise the rooms and hall ways after reception would go a long way.

Cleanliness could be better but is what I would call "acceptable" given how well the hotel is priced and how accommodating and helpful the staff are (especially as our flight was late back we could store our luggage for free at the hotel).

To clarify what I mean by the cleanness was "acceptable", when looking there marks/stains on walls and curtains where it looks like insects have been swatted and additionally some dirt stains in carpets in rooms and hallways. The beds were all clean and well made, toilets also clean (again would add that they would benefit from a refresh since they are dated).

I would for the same price still stay here again however, I hope a refresh of rooms and hallways is being planned.

It was just an average stay at a hotel but I was there for a week. There was no fridge in the room which may have been convenient for that length of stay. The staff seemed young and dismissive for the most part but that could be "German Culture"? A couple of the staff were very accommodating even suggesting that i use the closed kitchen's fridge for items i needed chilled. I could use the staff micorwave but when i did they spoke German to each other laughing. Don't think i was paranoid but i'm sure they were ribbing me which I didn't care about but seemed unprofessional. I always had to greet them first when seeing them. They didn't suggest anything i might need other than the fridge but that was because i was asking for ice all the time. For example, arriving an hour early, they firmly said the check-in and just dismissed me with all my luggage. I had to ask if there was luggage storage to walk around the neighborhood instead of waiting in the lobby for an hour.
For the price it was close to things to see but i like to walk. Close to church, markets, malls and pubs.
The breakfast brunch wasn't anything to put a medal on and was 10euros!!
No tips deserved for that stay

However, their room management systems failed during my stay. They were overbooked and requested later guests (including me) to change to a different room. I also witnessed a guest having the same situation during my checkin (and his room was downgraded).

The beds were extremely uncomfortable. When I arrived there were no towels in my room and I was told I wouldn’t be able to get any until the next day. My tv didn’t work. This hotel is located in the heart of the gay area, but it was made very clear that the night staff was homophobic. I haired a guid to show me the night life and he was discriminated against. When I went down to verify that he was with me, they questioned if I was a guest and actually yelled at me. The entire rest of my stay, that particular staff gave me dirty looks and made me feel extremely uncomfortable.

The property is great with very nice staff. Stayed for seven nights and they just left me to it. I like a low-key hotel without constant knocking etc.
There coffee shops/bars and restaurants around if you want to stay close.
Getting around town is easy with u-bahn and S-bahn nearby.

The hotel itself is pretty good overall. The pillows provided are far too soft for my liking, no firmness to them at all. The floors and walls are quite thin so footsteps are very audible in the room, there was always some sort of banging going on, and there's often people shouting and talking loudly outside on the street. It doesn't help that my room was above the entrance and people were loitering around it at night, thus being loud.

The area lets it down as it's very sketchy at night. There's multiple prostitutes and their handlers under the train bridge and the adjoining streets that will and do approach you every time you pass by, which if you're coming back from the city centre then you will pass them.

When I checked into the hotel on April 23, I was surprised to find that I was being charged 31% more than the price I had booked through Hotels.com. When I showed my reservation documents, two staff members worked on the computer while conversing in German, a language I do not understand, right in front of me. Eventually, the amount was adjusted to match the price I had booked online.

Additionally, when I paid in cash, I requested a receipt. I was told it would be provided at checkout, but since this was a cash payment and not a card transaction, I insisted on receiving the receipt immediately, which I eventually did.

Because of this experience, my first impression of Berlin was not a positive one.

I believe improvements are needed to ensure that all reservations made through Hotels.com can be trusted in the future.

The off-peak room was very spacious with a large, single room. Old Eastern bloc flavour to some of the decor added a little atmosphere. Located a minute from historical architecture,transport and mulitple shopping area. Staff were very helpful and communicative.
