Pleasant hotel. Super helpful staff

Staff was extremely kind and helpful. Ask for a room that doesn't face the street -- the interior rooms are relatively quiet. Rooms are a good size, compared to other tiny rooms in mid-range hotels we stayed in Germany. About a 10-minute walk to the UBahn and buses. Safe neighborhood. Several moderately priced restaurants on the block. Room does not have anything to make a cup of coffee or tea.

The Artim is a very charming little hotel. The room had very high ceilings and was very well laid out with enough room for three of us. The beds were comfortable.

It is a short walk to Wittenbegplatz with a metro entrance, shopping and dining choices while being tucked away on a quiet side street. There are also several restaurants on the same block as the hotel.

Our windows opened to the street and we could watch the street which was a good thing because our room did not have air conditioning. It was cool during our stay so it wasn’t a problem for us. It is just something that should be noted during the warmer months. They probably have fans but we didn’t really need it.

Overall I would recommend the Artim.

The elevator broke during my stay, so I have to climb up and down with the stairs. Room was somewhat clean but a tad run down. No sufficient toiletries was provided. So you better ask the staff at the front desk beforehand.

Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Perfectly pleasant hotel. Most staff were pleasant and friendly although one staff member was a little sarcastic when I asked about a coffee. Although they were still pleasant overall. Rooms are nice and clean but the lighting in my room was too dim. At night it was very difficult to see in the bathroom at all, and the main room was quite dim too. Some brighter lighting would make the rooms much more useable. My room
Was at the rear of the property and with the window open there was a lot of noise from the main roads, but that is the trade off for a hotel in a good central location.

Nice Modestly-Sized, Very Well Located Hotel.

It's a perfectly serviceable hotel in what I consider to be a very convenient location. The staff are pleasant and effective, the breakfast is quite tasty, and the rooms are decently sized, modern, and very clean. The fact that the hotel doesn't have air conditioning is a bit of problem, and I imagine it's going to become even more of a problem as time goes on since the old "well, they have huge windows and it never REALLY gets the hot in northern Europe anyway" line simply doesn't hold true anymore in any predictable way. I mean seriously: woe unto you if you end up staying here for several nights during a genuine summer heatwave. But during the fall, winter, and spring I think it would be an unquestionably good choice for pretty much anyone looking for a nice place stay in Berlin.

Great location in Schöneberg. Walking distance to U Bahn, shopping & more. A little confusion from the front desk person when I arrived & he said I hadn’t paid for the room. Took 10 min. for them to realize it was paid through Expedia. Free breakfast was a nice perk. Wish it started a little earlier. Great stay, would stay here again

Located in a great part of town with easy access to tourist sites via U-bahn, S-bahn, bus and foot. Breakfast each morning was better than most. Nice variety, spotless dining room area. The housekeeper who cleaned our room and replaced towels, sheets and basic toiletries was also exceptional. Her happy smile and heartfelt welcome each day made this trip better than expected.Staff fluent in English, Wi-Fi throughout hotel, I'd stay there again

Hotel a bit far out from the city centre

Hotel restaurant staff very rude could not even say good morning I ask the dark haired girl for another cup it was like how dare you speak to me , never had such poor service from restaurant staff , the internet would not work again asked but got told at reception do not understand , there are table and chairs put outside in the morning and taken in at lunch time there is no bar in the hotel and if you want to sit outside you just cant , it was very warm and there is no air con but they did supply fans . The hotel is situated in the gay part of the Berlin .

Clean and very centrally located hotel

Aside from a few facilities advertised on their website not existing ( they advertise having a bar and restaurant. They don't! They also mention Mini Bars in all rooms. This is incorrect, but there is a fridge in each room) this is a clean and modern hotel. Perhaps lacking in any personality though.
Staff were pleasant and spoke good English. Great location, with excellent restaurants close by.

Nice hotel and breakfast. Unfortunately the man at reception asked us to pay the full price of the hotel again and it took us 15 minutes to convince him we’d paid already through Expedia, even showing emails and receipts. He was not very understanding and kept demanding payment even though the money had left our accounts already. In the end it was sorted and he finally accepted that we’d prepaid.

Worth the money

We’re are backpacking around Europe, we arrived early and wasn’t able to check in due to the hotel being full, so we were able to leave our backpacks and go explore Berlin. That was nice...
The hotels room was very clean, very nice, the check in process was simple, and the desk attendant during both the day and night was friendly and helpful.
The best thing though was the complimentary breakfast, very fresh and you have several options to choose from like sausage, bacon eggs, cereal just to name a few. They really have quite a bit to choose from.
The location was close to public transportation.
I recommend this hotel to other guests

Good hotel central in Gay District

Stayed here whilst in Berlin for the marathon. Room was nice and a decent size (lighting and decor a wee bit dark for my taste). Comfy bed, good shower, well appointed. Our room faced the street but we didn't notice any noise as it doesn't seem to be a main road. Hotel is handily placed for U-bahn and handy for getting round Berlin. Breakfast buffet was included which was very decent. Hotel was busy with marathon runners and it was a nice touch that the breakfast buffet was opened at 6am on Sunday for the runners.
Couple of good restaurants nearby. I'd actually rate at 4.5 but Expedia doesn't give that option.
I'd use this hotel again.

Perfect location next to Schöneberg

Perfect location to stay in the Schöneberg area. I was visiting Berlin for pride and it was right next to the parade and some of the parties. Also really close to Wittenberg station, so you can catch the train anywhere you need to go. The room was large and lovely. High ceilings and lovely view of the street. The staff were friendly.

I stayed at the Artim hotel which was located in a great location. First disappointment, very small shower. If you are an American beyond 130 pounds, you will not have a good experience in the shower. The restaurant and bar they show you in the pictures? Sorry, only open for breakfast. You can't go in there during the day and they don't server other meals nor can you sit down to enjoy a cocktail. Deceiving pictures.

My main complaint was the bed. It's like a 6 inch foam mattress on a hard surface. I woke up every morning and tossed and turned all night of discomfort. Finally I was so exhausted I had to change hotels for the last 3 nights. When I checked out they didn't offer me a refund on the remaining nights I paid for or anything.

I heard management has changed, so maybe the 4 start rating was before the changeover. Not a happy camper here.

It is not possible to have a so bad WiFi service.

The WiFi was a great deception I stayed there for ten nights and the speed at room 104 was slow every day and stop to work constantly. If you need to work with your Lap Top forget about this Hotel. I measured and shown to the staff the speed download 5 M and upload 0.5 M and latency around 500 ms. It is impossible to get a nice connections. In the end, after several discussions they told me that the guilt for the bad services was Vodafone. Just to remember I stayed there for 10(TEN) NIGHTS.

Nice Hotel in the heart of gay area. Good breakfast even when hangover :p Good wifi and 3 Tube lines around, close to shops. I would book again at Artim for my next Berlin trip.
Only bad thing is the lift way too long, but thats not a big deal.

Nice hotel in the middle of nightlife area

This is a very nice hotel in Fuggerstrasse, really close to many LGBT bars and clubs. The hotel may benefit from some update especially in the hallways. The carpet is old and should be renewed. My guest room was clean and comfortable. I missed the absence of an iron and an ironing board, though this is common in European hotels. Hotel personnel was very kind and helpful. Complimentary breakfast was excellent.

The photos on the website look great but its run down and color filtered obviously...the staff were nice and so was the breakfast but the wifi does not work in the hotel room. You must either open your door and stand there to connect or go downstairs to use their computer

Artim is situated in the gay area of Berlin. Bars around the area are skewed to this clientele. We picked this hotel for that reason as we were going for Pride.

It is easy to get to from the airport (Tegel) and all main sites are a simple ride on the Ubahn(underground).

The staff ere friendly and room is good condition. We were at the back of the hotel so the room was quiet. Bathroom facilities were good and breakfast was a of good standard.

Nice place for a weekend get-away

The hotel was very appealing and satisfying except for two things: poor Wifi and air conditioning. For the wifi we always had a poor connection but got much better reception in the hallway. Additionally, since the weather was hot it would have been nice to have air conditioning. Why don't they put windows in the bathroom? We were on the top floor and even with three Windows (all on one wall) it was hard to cool off the room. Other than that, it was a nice hotel. Nice breakfast too!

one night stay in Berlin

I felt insecure when they copied my international passprt data. It could be sold or stolen then. I don't think it's a common practice and it's not clear why they are doing it and if it's related to identity theft. Usually hotels are taking a credit card information and it should be enough.
There was a water leak in the bath so it leaked on the floor. Don't expect to have a parking, they don't have it at all so you have to find some place on the street nearby. It's not a 4 star hotel, not at all.... We were kind of disappointed.

Great Location, Hotel, hit and miss.

I LOVE the location of this hotel, and also the breakfast was very good. A couple of negative things, and honestly, depends on the person, I wasn't upset by it,(maybe disappointed) but the people I was with found it a bit annoying. First,the elevator went out for a few hours and we were on the third floor. I only had to climb stairs twice, and didn't mind at all. Second, No ice at all in the hotel. The Ice machine went out at the bar (only place to get it).Third (and the biggie for me) We were in the junior suite, 2 beds, and a fold out sofa, Well,on the third day we decided to make the bed, and fold it up so we would have more room in the living area to visit and chat with. Came back from lunch, and the linens had been removed,(when the room was serviced)...and I went down just to get more (no big deal),...and the lady at the front desk, (short black bob) was clearly angry. " Why did you do that??" I explained I didn't, my friends did, but I just need a sheet and small comforter back, and no worries. They must contract it out, as she called some lady (spoke to her in German),...hung up and looked at me and said , " I have a lot of work to do here, and it will be a while." Dramatic--but I would go back, maybe 2 ppl to a room, the sofa bed was not comfortable.

Solid hotel

Hotel was nice, water pressure was good in the room, bed was comfy, always something on the tv in the evenings. My only complaint is the "shuttle service" they have listed in the ads, saying to talk to the desk for more info. Shuttle service just means we will call you a cab if you need one, thats about it.

It is right near the edge of Charlottenberg over by the nice high end shops, so a quick walk and you are there. A solid 20 minutes and you are at Tiergarten enjoying the best park you could ask for, and for a solid 45 minute walk, you are now at the brandenberg gate and in Mitte. Good location for getting around, lots of good food and coffee nearby.

A very nice interior is more than matched by the accommodating and helpful staff! It's within walking distance of Brandenburger Tor and close to a tube which will take you to East Berlin. Highly recommended!

However, the hotel was situated in a club district which made it very noises, late at night. Our first European hotel to have a refrigerator. Not many choices of restaurants nearby either.

I've stayed at this hotel a few times now. It is good value, and close to transport links with 2 U-bahn stations close by and Zoo station about 10/15 minutes walk away. The rooms are clean, if a little functional. There is wifi throughout the hotel.

Our room had been recently remodeled and was very nice. Bed wasn't the best but not bad- creaked a little but comfortable. Ask for extra pillows. Breakfast in the morning was great with choices. One person working desk at any time but always pleasant and helpful.

The Hotel's biggest plus is it's convenient location to West Berlin. The staff was friendly and helpful. My room, although clean, smelled strongly of stale cigarette smoke, even though it was listed as a smoke-free room. Actually, the entire hotel had a funky smell to it. The breakfast was quite nice with a good selection. The hotel is definitely a 3, NOT 4-star hotel, but overall a good value for the money.

This is an okay hotel, it's most positive feature is it's location to some major shopping areas as well as to the U/S Bahn to get to anywhere you might want to see. Other than that, it wasn't anything to write home about, that's for sure. They did recently renovate the rooms/lobby (from reading other comments), and it does look nice and modern, if not a bit sparse in the rooms. The lighting definitely could have been better, and the room we were in was absolutely freezing, and the heater just barely knocked the chill out of the air. The lift broke the first day of our stay (thankfully it worked to get our luggage up to the fourth floor), so we were taking the stairs our entire stay. Don't be fooled by "Parking Available" - unless you are one of a lucky 3 guests, there won't be parking provided by the hotel (fortunately we were one of the 3!) - parking around the hotel didn't look like it was too much of a problem to find, but that is in November - I would imagine a peak travel season might not be the same. All in all, I would not stay here again, though it wasn't a horrible hotel, just needs work.

Great Hotel for the Price Gay Friendly Area

The hotel is simple hotel. Clean nice size rooms. The staff was very friendly and the hotel is in the gay area. The hotel is Gay friendly The hotel is clean modern and close to shopping and eating. There is only parking for 3 cars on site but you can park in the street for 10 euros a day. I would stay here again

Biggest problem for me was the pillows were horrible and the elevator is painfully slow. They also wouldn't even consider an early check-in (1.5 hours before 2pm check-in). Otherwise the place was clean and updated and was in a decent location approx. 10 min walk to subway and KaDaWe.

Could have been great if they cleaned my room

House keeping knocked on the door at 8am to clean the room. 8am! We told them to come back later, however they didn't clean the room at all that day. Wouldn't have been too bad if the room didn't smell of cigarette smoke. Friend had much better experience with a cleaned room and no cigarette smoke so might have been one of those things. Hotel was excellent otherwise.

An amazing hotel.....

The hotel is centrally located to shopping, gay life, great eating, great location. I would recommand. The breakfast was outstanding. The staff was impeccable, very help and very polite. The location for shopping, getting on train and underground excellent, the pricing excellent.

Clean and Friendly 'Boutique Sized' Hotel

The staff are great, and while the location is a few blocks from a U Station, the bus 1 block away runs every 10 minutes, 24 hours a day. The Expedia information speaks of large rooms with balconies and Climate Control, but my room was tiny, with no balcony and a radiator and window for climate control. Would have been a problem if I had not been travelling alone. From other reviews and the fire escape plans it seems there are larger rooms as described. There are no English TV Channels, but the free WiFi is very good so if you have your iPad with you you're fine.
Special Thanks to the restaurant staff who provided a terrific breakfast with great variety each day and the neighbourhood restaurants were good and reasonable in price!

Good value for money

The Room was basic (nice) and clean, tidied and towels changed every day. The bed was uncomfortable but once I had got used to it, it was fine. Felt safe for a lone female traveller and the staff tried hard to help me. Interesting area with lots of choice for reasonable places to eat and buy food, shop and use public transport to get around Berlin. Decent choice given for breakfast and comfy bar to sit at in an evening when alone.Good Value for money.

Value for money.......parking in front only 3 euros till u exit......rooms were recently renovated and very spacious (compared to a friend who stayed at nearby best western presidente). Adequate breakfast. Staff was friendly, smiling. Location is 5 min walk to kadewe shopping mall. Didnot give it a 5 because you would expect a coffee machine like amenities in the room of a 4 star hotel. The bed, pillows could be better.

Good hotel for short trip to Berlin

The hotel was easy to find in the Schoeneberg district, close to 2 U-Bahn stations. We arrived on an early flight, and had to wait until 2pm to check in, however there is a locked room available for luggage to be left in.
We had requested a quiet room, that was on a high floor. We were given a room away from the lift on the top (5th) floor, so that was a good start. As has been mentioned before, the lift is so slow. We generally walked down as it was quicker than waiting for the lift. The room was very spacious. The double bed was very comfortable, although only 1 pillow on arrival, however asked the staff and were given additional pillows without any fuss. There is a flat screen tv in the room although the reception was very hit and miss. There are only German tv channels, but this was ok. The bathroom was well equipped with a good shower, and deep bath tub, perfect after a day walking round Berlin! The only criticism of the bathroom would be the lighting. This was very dim, and not really sufficient for activities such as shaving. There is an electronic safe in the room for valuables too.
Breakfast was adequate, and unchanging. There was nothing wrong with it, just a bit dull!
Overall, a good hotel and good value.

great hotel for shoppers

although i have stayed in this hotel a few times everytime i go i enjoy it,this year was greeted with a new updated lobby which was a nice touch, but i base the hotel on its location something that still cant be beat its in easy walking distance to all stores,including KaDeWe and the staff are excellent,,polite and so friendly,,the only downside with the hotel is the elevator,,it has to be the slowist ever,, great hotel,great location,great staff,,what more do you want,oh yes,,and the rooms are spotless ,,clean and very spacious

Veldig bra hotell, men ofte litt kluss med værelsesbetjeningen. Vi har bodd der mange ganger, og det skjer dessverre ofte at de «glemmer» rommet. Ellers er det et bra og hyggelig hotell med veldig god beliggenhet.
