My room was suitable for my needs: a quiet place to rest while I explore this beautiful city for the first time.

Overall the hotel 'did the job' Everything was clean and worked.The staff were especially nice and there was a good amount of breakfast. Location was good only 5 minutes from UBahn/Metro . The room itself was just a bit functional. Bed was comfy, shower worked well but the room itself was fairly small and had little natural light. There was a bottle of water and tea making facilities but no milk and things were not replenished for the second day. Also very visible building /refurbishment was happening in the adjoining building. It was a \"practical\" stay but felt like a few more details couldve made it more comfortable/welcoming .

I had to change my room 3 times. The first room was stinky and cold, the second had a water sink from the shower and the 3 one had no hair dresser working.
They offered me a free breakfast the last night for the inconveniences. I was also sick during those days and no one even helped me carrying my stuff from.moving from room to room. The cleaning ladies entered in my room at 8am on Saturday while I was in bed sleeping. Without speaking a word of English. Very bad.

Hotel is just average. There are better options in Berlin but due to a German holiday all hotel were very expensive. Get what you pay for but the room was clean and adequate. No temperature controls including no ac. Luckily we stayed while it was cold but you have to adjust the gas heater manually to get the correct heat. Back to 1955. 😀 Another couple traveling with us had an issue in the breakfast area with the wait staff. We never ate there so I cannot comment.

We stayed at the Garner Hotel for a short city break and what a find it was. Situated very close to the tourist attractions, cafes and restaurants, it is incredibly quiet and with very comfortable beds and pillows, made for an excellent night's sleep. Reception staff were excellent and made sure that we had everything we needed. I wouldn't hesitate to come back to this Garner if we ever visit Berlin again.

Friendly staff and nice hotel. Clean room and bathroom. The beds were incredibly comfortable. The room had blackout curtains and a fan was provided in case it was warm in the evening. The location was great - a few minutes from Checkpoint Charlie and a 20 min walk from the Reichstag and Brandenburg Gate. Would definitely stay here again.

Great little hotel & enjoyed our stay. Staff made it perfect. It is not as close as the other Garner hotel to Checkpoint Charlie but it was close to Topographie of Terror and some excellent restaurants. Downside - double doesn’t mean normal nice double so we upgraded for 20 euros which was well worth it.

With any holiday, you budget for it. So I was very surprised to turn up to hear I have to pay around 400 euros for the hotel stay. To put this into context, I used an active card to pay prior to visiting and my end it shows on Expedia that I’m paid up. However, this was not the case. It would have been courteous of the hotel to have contacted me immediately when they realised this. However they did not mention this at all. And there was communication between myself and the hotel prior to this trip. Disappointing and poor communication!!

This is a nice hotel in a very convenient spot of Berlin where you can easily use metro for everywhere. You can also walk to the center since a lot of nice sightseeing are not so far. The only problem i have was the heating that is was not so hot since the weather was cold. I would definitely comment this hotel

Nice and clean room. Comfortable bed and nice bathroom/shower.

Only issue was that there must have been a resteraunt or something on the floor above, as I could hear scraping late into the night (despite being on the top floor of the hotel).

Location of the hotel was good. Only about 10 mins walk to the nearest u bahn station.

Conveniently located by two U-bahn stops. Checkpoint Charlie is a 5 minute walk away. Don't believe the offer for a free drink to skip housecleaning. I did, but couldn't use the coupon for the free drink because it didn't include beer. It is only for a select beverage. Not what the door tag said. To me, a free drink includes beer. I don't drink hard alcohol, so I think I was enticed to get something I wouldn't use. Had I known beer didn't count, I would have taken the fresh linens.

Good hotel as described- perfect for a city break when you’re not wanting to spend much time in the hotel! Hotel was very clean, staff were friendly and a shop nearby, as well as walking distance to checkpoint Charlie and transport to the sights of Berlin. The bed was the highlight for us and it was SO COMFORTABLE!! Absolutely perfect for after a long day of walking and exploring the city would definitely stay here again! Thank you for our stay!

Amazing property right in the heart of many things in Berlin.
However there is no AC in the rooms or a fridge, despite there being radiators if we went in summer there would be no A/C. We also opted not to have the room cleaned as we didn’t feel it needed it and the door hanger stated we would get free drinks and a €1 euro voucher if the rooms weren’t cleaned for each day it wasn’t cleaned but this was not the case we never got that. But the staff were friendly, the hotel was clean and it was in a great location too. Thank you

Bad smell from the drain

The bed was comfortable and the location good but there was a terrible smell from the drain which made me not even want to go into the bathroom. There’s lots about this hotel which looks old and outdated it could really do with some upgrading.

This hotel is in an ideal location near Checkpont Charlie so there are plenty of places to eat and sightsee. The room was efficient and comfortable although the coffee supplies were undersupplied. A good hotel and I would stay there again. My only complaint would be the carpet could have used a shampooing.

If I could give negative stars I would. The shower had mold so bad it smelled of mold. The staff apart from one man was as rude as they come. The room was not the room I ordered, their system's were broken so no keys the first night. They gave me one coffee 3 decaf coffees for a 3 night stay. When I asked for more coffee I was denied. When the blowdryer broke & I asked for a new one, I was told no and made to feel like I was putting her out. When I tried to get help for the correct room I was told I had the right room and the room never looks like the room pictured. The bed and pillows gave me the worst neck pain. Mainly just afraid to tell them anything was wrong or ask for any help. They also couldn't find my name in the system and tried to make me pay twice when I was already there for one night. I wish I had the money to just leave and book another hotel. Nothing was as pictured.

Pleasant hotel in a very convenient, safe location close to public transport. Staff were friendly and helpful though some did not speak English which made things tricky at times. Checkpoint Charlie is so close by. Hop on Hop off bus is close. Lots of museums nearby and things to do. Breakfast is basic for 19 euros. Room was comfortable. I’d consider staying here again.

The location of this hotel was excellent within a few minutes walk of the U-bahn and Checkpoint Charlie. The breakfasts were excellent with different options available. We would almost certainly use this hotel again if visiting Berlin. The weather was very hot during our stay and, although the rooms are not air-conditioned, we were always comfortable as a fan was provided.

The hotel was perfect for what we wanted, very convenient for sightseeing and very clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful,especially when I had made a mess of booking rooms. They sorted our problem out straight away. Breakfast was delicious. Couldn't have asked for a nicer stay.

Great location in the Western part of Berlin. Do your map checks prior to venturing out. Very easy to walk, rent a scooter, Uber, bus, taxi etc. to get around. Parking is difficult so be prepared to park down the street or within a 5 min walk from Hotel.

A very utilitarian room, small but functional. The location is good if not outstanding, with several interesting museums in short walking distance and easy access to transit. Things were clean and safe.
Garbage collection outside the window at 6:00am each day was a little less than ideal, and extending the stay by one day proved surprisingly expensive (I would just book another hotel if doing it again).

Clean room but uncomfortable bed

I stayed here for 5 nights as a solo traveller. Easy check in, was able to leave my luggage at the hotel and return later for check in which was helpful. The hotel is very clean, quiet and 5 mins walk from Check Point Charlie and the metro station so can get anywhere easily.

The only faults I would give the hotel is the bed, I had a queen sized bed but was only given bedding for 1 person - it was a single sized quilt so didn't even cover the bed and only the 2 pillows for one person and there wasn't any additional bedding in the room. I know I was a solo traveller, however having booked a queen bed, I'd expected the bedding to go with the bed size. The bed itself wasn't too comfortable either, so didn't sleep great.

The cleaners were in every day of my stay, however they had removed the 'do not disturb' sign from my room after the 1st night meaning they had come in my room whilst still in the room.

Overall, I would recommend this hotel to others. However, if you are solo travelling and looking for accommodation where you might meet people and make new friends, I wouldn't say this is the one for you as there wasn't ever anyone around and was very quiet.

Lovely hotel, spacious room

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The room was quite spacious, lots of natural light too. Comfortable bedding, clean bathrooms. Very conveniently located, lots of shops next to Checkpoint Charlie. The afternoon/evening staff was rude though i asked for something and she almost laughed at me and make me feel stupid for asking. The question was whether or not they let other guests up to my room or do I need to come down get them myself. Nothing shocking there

Central location and comfortable enough, but not a 4* hotel in my opinion. Reception were helpful, but didn't go out of their way to be - for example, an email before we set out asking for advice about public transport resulted in a website address in reply rather than actual advice. Housekeeping was not great. No tea provided & the instant coffee we used was not replaced, nor was the mineral water, & the mugs & glasses were not washed on any of the days.

However, plenty of hot water in the shower and we slept well after long days exploring the city & the central location was very convenient.
