Hostel was fine for a night. Unfortunately the night we were here there were around a hundred students in a group and they kept us up all night. It was crazy. Beds were comfy with a bathroom. Try to stay of the road side as the train goes all night.

For some bizarre reason, every night after midnight someone decided to move furniture close enough for this to be loud and causing vibration of the bed. Not really premises fault, but indicator that despite overall quietness, you may hear your neighbours too well.

It astounds me why someone in their wisdom decided setting timer of the bathroom fan to spin fast and loud at 5 in the morning is the good idea. This is definitely a negative.

As well as very soft pillows. I put my head on two, and effectively my head fell into them lying at the mattress level, which itself is quite comfortable.

I paid reasonable price for my three nights, so I'm moderately satisfied. I haven't used food or drink facilities there, so no comment on that aspect.

Clean, friendly, and functional. The room was big enough, the location was great, and the staff was super friendly. The, have vending machines with food and drinks and even a var. The only slightly negative point was that the other guests were not always super quiet. On the other hand, we enjoyed the tolerance of the place.

Lovely location Metro 3/4 mins away and 10 min walk to Jewish Museum and further 15 to CheckPoint Charlie and main sites. Friendly helpful Staff, good lounge area with Bar drinks and food available. Good sized room very clean but would benefit more with a fridge and kettle. AC installed but not commissioned so incredibly hot in the room at night which was the only negative. In all would recommend and would return again.

The air conditioning didn't work. A guest told us that it hadn't worked for a few days. A fan was offered for the room. It didn't solve much. The breakfast was very good. It needs to be improved with more fruit and there was a lack of variety of cakes and fresh eggs.

The staff were, without exception, welcoming, approachable and helpful throughout my stay - and remarkably fluent in English. My room was thoroughly cleaned each day. The furnishings were basic but included everything necessary, apart possible from a glass tumbler. Despite seeming to have a large number of guests, I experienced complete quietness during the night. The hotel does face onto a busy road but my impression is that few of the bedrooms are on that side of the building. The dining room was open from 6.30am during the working week and from 7am at weekends and, I seem to remember, it was open for four hours on each occasion. Perhaps because of the extended opening times there was never any crushes during breakfast. It has as good a range and quantity of food as in many more expensive hotels.
The hotel is in an excellent position for travelling in Berlin. Ten minutes walk from Acama hotel, in one direction, takes you to Hallesches Tor U-bahn which allows access to all parts of the city; while ten minutes in the opposite direction takes you to Meckernbrucke U-bahn which, along with an airport shuttle bus, gives direct access to Berlin Brandenburg airport. But frankly if you are moderately fit and not accompanied by children it is possible to walk to most of the main tourist attractions in central Berlin, from Acama. All-in-all I was delighted with my choice of accommodation and
Acama hotel will certainly be my first choice for accommodation next time in Berlin.

Clean rooms with excellent room service. Internet often did not work and staff could only recommend that I wait for it to improve. Mattresses were very thin and it sometimes hurt to feel the bed springs. Location is very convenient to the U-Bahn.

Great Location!

Great location, handy for the bars and restaurants as well as not too far to walk to the main tourist areas. Hotel staff were friendly and our stay was practical and functional. Our was a bit packed with 2 single beds and a bunk setup but didn’t bother us too much. Only real downer was that it was warm in the room - no a/c - and when windows are opened the noise of the S Bahn trains were sleep prohibitive

I would not recommend this property to anyone. The staff was not friendly or helpful whatsoever, they just want to move you through and get to the next person. The room was very small and the shower is ridiculous. There are absolutely no amenities and they want to charge you for everything including coffee and water. The ATM has a $30 surcharge on it and the staff will tell you there is no fee for using it. There is no parking for available for anyone driving a large van or vehicle and the staff could care less about helping you find a place to park as well. Breakfast was not included and was an upcharge just like everything else in this place (to include the Foosball table). The location is not that great or ideal either. Also, stay away from the bar that is next door, it is an Ethiopian dive that my daughter got her purse stolen in. We traveled to five different hotels in Europe while on this trip and this was BY FAR the worst.

The check-in was a farce as the computer was updating and I had to stand there waiting for 30 mins as all the lounge chairs were full. However the rest of my stay was excellent, the room was spacious and clean. I had a lovely view of the canal. Very close to a U-ban station. Very good for the price

The hostel was generally good, friendly staff on reception, hot showers, very clean towels, sheets etc. great location & good that bike rental was possible (though we didn't use this).A big problem was the heat of the room at night and poor ventilation (we were on the 5th floor). Also, the noise from neighbouring rooms late at night was a problem.

We were attending a wedding close by so this was ideal for us. A little bit noisy from other rooms and the trains but nothing too bad. Free tea and coffee in the lobby was a nice touch although got a bit confusing on Sunday as we were asked to go to the dining room for coffee and then, once there, were told the dining room was closed and we had to leave!

It was an ok stay for overnight. The only thing is that no air condition and I was a little upset because when we checked in a fan wasn’t offered.
Instead while we were at the lobby that evening I saw a fan that they are about to take it to a room. So I asked if we could have 1 in our room but they said no, it is all taken while we came in early morning and it wasn’t even an option.But overall our stay was ok.

The hotel room was very very stuffy with very little ventilation. You could only open the windows but you'd still be sweating. No fans were available in our 6 people room.

Also the courtyard was also full of people talking up to 2.30am nearly every night which made it very hard to sleep. (Couldnt even close the windows unless you wanted to suffocate from lack of oxygen!

They were also very stingy on the toilet paper and gave us the bare minimum, even though we were staying there for 10 nights.

Some of the staff were helpful whilst the others didnt want to help at all.

Acama provides excellent hotel/hostel accommodation at a very competitive price. The rooms are basic and are kept very clean. The breakfast buffet is excellent, providing a wide choice for all tastes. The underground parking facility is a real bonus and the staff provide a high level of service. I would highly recommend this accommodation.

It was located near the ubahn-- 5 minute walk plus lots of street food in the area..

The hostel is split up in a few buildings, a little crazy.. but we figured it out..

It is located next to the ubahn -- so the train does go by a lot .. it was white noise for us but might be real noise for others ..

Hostel was basic but clean and tidy. Wifi did not work in hostel room only in hallway and common area. Booked double room and had 2 single beds head to tail. No room to change this around at all. Rooms very hot at night as window only opened a small way. Staff were friendly and helpful. Even helped read our train tickets that were written in German.

When I checked into this place, the guy tried to charge me in full again even though i had already paid in full after booking through hotels.com. He claimed he didn't have a paper saying that even though I had all the confirmation emails.

The room was basic and had an ensuite shower and bathroom, however the bathroom smelled like urine and chemicals every time I opened the door.

The room was very small, which was fine with me since I don't travel to experience large hotel rooms. If you need more than the bare minimum amount of space, I wouldn't recommend this one, but you get what you're paying for. It was very clean and the staff was attentive and always available. Location was good, since it was very close to the subway station and was pretty easy to get wherever I wanted to go.

WiFi was unavailable in the rooms, which was annoying at times, but they did have good WiFi in the lobby and lounge.

Perfect for my needs

It's an odd shaped building and the room was hard to find at first, the lift was a bit tricky, however the room itself was perfect for my requirements (and it's price).

The room was cleaned daily, beds made and bathroom supplies replenished. I paid for a single room, however my room had 2 beds. That's not a bad thing though, as the room was also far bigger than I was expecting.

There is a lobby downstairs where wifi and cups of coffee and tea can be made for free. Keep in mind it is also a hostel, so you may end up sharing the lobby with a school tour.

The building is about a 10 minute walk to Hallesches Tor U-Bahn, which offers transport to pretty much anywhere you would want to go.

If you are looking for cheap accommodation in Berlin for a few days and your goal is a city break mostly out of the hotel, then this place fits the bill perfectly.

Exceptional nice staff and O.K. accommodations.

This was a hostel that wasn't very wheelchair accessible. There was a side door for wheelchair users, but no buzzer at the door to let anyone know you were outside. Inside the elevators were fine. Most of the rooms had narrow bathroom doors, which meant I had to use the \"wheelchair accessible\" bathroom downstairs. The neighborhood was O.K., but not real nice and accessible transportation was further away. The price was O.K. The room was clean and simple. No in room wifi. Staff was exceptional nice in helping to accommodate our special needs. They were very good and friendly people. The English was great.

Clean and nice hostel but many cons:
- Not good location for tourists. The other Aletto is better located
- noise all around the clock. There are heavy slamming doors every 30 meters in the corridors and you're going to hear them day and night
- No blackout courtains
- No supermarkets and no restaurants nearby.
- Old 14\" T.V. set and no remote control.
- breakfast was average: coffee was cold, fruit was cheap. You get nothing for the six euros you pay.
I won't recommend this hostel to my friends!

Clean, spacious hostel with towels and linens, close to the U7 but unfortunately there was NO wifi access in the rooms, which proved to be inconvenient. Hostel staff was friendly and helpful, giving us maps of the city. 10 minutes walk to Currywurst 36 and Mustafas.

Well, I always seem to forget that you get what you pay for. In the light of that sentence, Aletto Kreuzberg is absolutely fine for how cheap it is. The hotel itself is located close to the U Bahn and a few blocks from lots of restaurants and shops, which is great. The hotel has free coffee and tea in the rec room, which was pretty much constantly overrun with teenagers. There's a nice courtyard, a computer you can use, and spotty wi-fi in the common areas. Though the hallways are very dingy and dirty, our room itself was very clean upon arrival, aside from some rather gross stains on the undersides of the mattresses (I was in a lower bunk, so I could see them on the bed above me).

The hotel staff cleaned our room every day, but they never changed the sheets or towels as far as I could tell. They also really just pushed the dirt around on the floors instead of removing it, which was annoying. But they kept the bathroom spotless, and it was very convenient to have our own toilet and shower. The shower had consistently hot water and good pressure. Beds were pretty uncomfortable, but we had plenty of space. No internet in the rooms. Also, our television was broken.

We did have a run-in with a super cranky staff member who was rude and unhelpful.

Overall, it's a fine place to crash for the night and shower. If you want to spend any quality time inside of the place you're staying, this isn't really the place for you. But it's cheap and adequate for the price.

It worked out well. Good location close to two different UBahn lines and very easy to get to from Tegel Airport. Very vibrant neighbourhood just around the corner. The title JugendHotel is apt as it was full of kids but the place was quiet enough to get a good night's sleep.

I only stayed here for one night and it was so ideal for my stay I believe it would have been fine for a longer stay and I plan on returning! I was visiting the Premium exhibition at Station Berlin which was a 10 minute walk away. Mockenbrucke station is 2 mins walk down the road from the hotel. You can get a train to Rudow and then bus to Schoenefield Airport about 40 mins total. I booked a double room for 2 ppl which was very roomy, the room had 2 comfy single beds and a bunk bed, a small table to sit at, an open wardrobe with separate shower room and toilet (within the room). The room had lovely high ceilings and huge windows. Temperature was fine considering it was 3 degrees C outside, heaters worked well! Breakfast was very decent for just 5 euros: hams, cheeses, pate, rolls, fruits, muesli, salad, juice provided a good start to the day. There are a variety of complimentary fruit teas and green tea at the bar downstairs. Wi-fi was very reliable but only available in the lobby. I later appreciated this despite the inconvenience of not having access in the room after meeting others who had to pay 24 euros for 24 hours wi-fi at their hotel!

Decent hotel in a good location in Berlin

Decent hotel for the money, I would stay there again. The location is handy, with things to do within walking distance, or a short metro ride. In addition to all the central highlights, take the U1 to Warschauer Strasse for a scenic journey along the river, then walk along a long stretch of intact Berlin wall.

The rooms are nothing fancy, but perfectly functional and clean. The room I stayed in could fit up to 6 people (2 single beds, plus 2 bunks) so potentially good for families. Minor things to bear in mind - no body wash or shampoo, but handwash was provided. And for guys with electric shavers, no universal shaver socket in the bathroom - bring a converter. No remote control for the TV. CNN and BBC world can be found with patience!

The hotel is a bit like a hostel I guess, with a young vibe, but plenty of older guests and families staying there - all are welcome. We stayed there over the Christmas/new year period - there was a little noise on the street out the front a couple of nights, but generally fine. The staff were friendly and helpful - only slight concern was sometimes you needed patience to get served at reception.

Breakfast is not included in the cost, but you can buy a good buffet breakfast for a few euros (or buy breakfast on the go). Decent kebab shop just down the road at Hallesches Tor station - you are never far away from food in this city. Food stops just about everywhere, plus several markets for street food!

Overall, a good stay and loved Berlin!

Some trouble with my reservation

In my booking, I clearly stated that I was booking a room for two adults and one 8-year old child. However, when I checked in, the hotel employee only saw booking for two adults on his end. At first he told me I needed to pay additional 15 euros per night for my child, but later on told me not to worry about it. Because there were three of us, out of good intention, the hotel employee gave us a dorm room exclusively for us so that we each could have our bed. The room was very cold and we were very disappointed at what we were given, so we asked for room change. We were then given a small room with a double bed. My son slept on the floor during our entire stay. If you are a family of three, one room may not be sufficient for you unless you three can squeeze on one bed or your child can sleep on the floor.
We booked a hotel room in a venue that is a mixture of hotel and hostel. The overall theme is hostel.

Fun Hostel, Free Coffee

This was one of the better hostels I've stayed in. The room was huge! Even though we booked a double private, they put us in a 6 bed dorm room but didn't charge extra. Another plus is that they have free coffee and tea all day long. downside is there isn't any WiFi in the rooms, but they offer a very relaxed lounge area where you can sit and socialize. I would recommend this for young groups and single travelers as its location is in a quieter neighborhood but there is easy access to the city center and many opportunities to meet other groups and travelers as well!

Very friendly staff, excellence room with size and cleanness. Suitable for friends, family to stay there. One thing should be aware, NO wifi connection in rooms, only in lobby and common room

Acceptable.

Not bad for the price, though I've had better. One annoying issue, though not the hotel's fault, was that I had hardly any service with O2 (HTC One Mini), so I could hardly use my phone, and there is no Wifi in the rooms.

No complaints, cheap and very clean.

Good location, short walk from Mockernbrucke U Bahn station, fairly quiet street beside the canal. Basic, clean and comfortable rooms, no frills but a perfectly good base for exploring the fabulous city. Cheap, fresh continental breakfast, more than enough to fill up on. Will be going back:)

Overpriced hostel

This is a hostel. We had a 2 person private room with bath but there were 4 other beds. Minimal comfort but very clean and staff were friendly and helpful.

Satisfactory and eficiente... Clean and tidy .. should have wi-fi throughout the Hotel.
