The room was amazing, great location for the markets and the Krampus March without the crowds!!! The staff was so welcoming and were so nice to my dog. Amenities were great too! The parking garage is right around the corner! And BREAKFAST WAS 10 out of 10!!! So many options and everything was FRESH!!!! Would definitely go back!!!

The Mercure Hotel München Altstadt was within a few minutes walk of all of the Old Town main attractions (Marienplatz, Viktualienmarkt, shopping, restaurants, etc.). Not only is it convenient, the area felt very safe.
The staff was helpful and the breakfast was fantastic. I would definitely stay here again (it is a much better location for the average tourist than staying in the city center). Thank you!

The hotel is very nice and well kept, located in the old city of Munich. It is a short walk to Marianplatz, the market, shopping,and Hofbrau. The staff are attentive and pleasant. Breakfast had good variety and invited fresh squeezed orange juice and honey in the comb. Highly recommended!

Beautiful hotel with clean rooms, convenient amenities (hot water appliance), free drinks (seltzer water, beer, apple juice) in fridge and delicious breakfast with plentiful options (eggs, sausage/meats, cheeses, breads, pastries, juices, fruit/vegetables). Conveniently located near attractions all within walking distance and near metro stop. We took Lufthansa Express Bus from airport (12 euros one way) which dropped us off at city center, then walked 150-15 minutes to hotel. Friendly staff. Comfortable beds in clean/modern room.

Excellent stay on a short visit to Munich

A small but exceptionally clean room with good air conditioning.
A very short stroll to Marienplatz yet in a quiet street so slept well. Large, comfortable bed.
Staff were friendly and allowed us to store our luggage on the final day.
The breakfast really was wonderful with so much choice and good quality food. A selection of cooked, continental or pastries with delicious fresh bread and preserves.
I would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone on a short break to Munich as you are so close to the centre yet able to escape the noise and bustle.

Our stay at the hotel was wonderful. We arrived in the morning and they kindly held our bags for us while we went out and toured. It is walking distance from all the main tourist attractions, shops, dining. The room was super clean, the bed was comfortable, with a firm mattress and the shower had good pressure and a comfortable back if you like to have a bath. I was pleasantly surprised by the free beer, Coca Cola and water in our mini fridge. The breakfast was delicious, especially the fresh squeezed orange juice. Parking was easy to find and offered at a discount. Overall, a wonderful stay and I would highly recommend.

The room was immaculate. We loved the free hot breakfast and minibar which was perfect for having water to stay hydrated.
The location was perfect for walking to Marienplatz and public transportation.

Hidden Gem in Old Town

My sister and I had 24 hrs to spend in Munich and wanted to experience as much of the city as we could. Hotel Mercure was conveniently located a few minutes from Marienplatz for authentic German food, beer and Gothic architecture. Our room was clean and cozy. The staff were inviting and great to talk to. The buffet area for coffee, tea and water being open 24/7 was an extra bonus. And the breakfast spread… we wish we had more time to sample all the cheeses, jams, and fresh baked goods. Would stay there again.

Great location, quality, and hospitality

We loved the location and the breakfast. The stocked mini-fridge was very nice. Staff were warm and engaging. Everything was perfect except there was a tendency of guests to talk loudly while waiting for the lift, which was right next to our entry door. People also were smoking and speaking loudly outside the hotel entry which was one level below our window. Rooms further away from the lift would have been better.

Hotel is centrally located to most everything in downtown Munich. The staff is very nice and helpful. Breakfast is very good. The only complaint is that some rooms will require one to lift suitcases up steps. Will stay here again.

The room was magnificent with a well-stocked minibar and was part of the services with breakfast. The restaurant only had the basics but it was free. I was surprised by the attention received. I recommend this hotel because it is well equipped for your comfort and pleasant stay.

This hotel is tucked away on a quiet, secluded street, yet it’s just a few minutes’ walk from the Christmas markets and the train station. The building itself has a college dormitory vibe, and I was even scolded by the front desk staff for arriving so late. That said, the room was functional and comfortable, with everything in its place. The bed and pillow were quite cozy. Breakfast was absolutely sensational, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Overall, I’d give it a 10 out of 10 and would definitely recommend it.
