Gorgeous property, the team onsite from front of house, F+B and housekeeping are all wonderful and can’t do enough to help you.

The fitness centre is hugely disappointing, do not expect a gym or even to be able to do a full workout. Given the presence the gym and health and fitness angle has on the website, plus the internal lift, you are expecting something epic and then you get down there and very quickly establish it’s a basement with a multi-gym (and now even a good one) and some very light dumbbells. But we are all gym lifters so one assumes the gym is not designed to meet our needs but just to fill the void for those that want to be on a runner for 20mins.

The restaurant onsite is amazing, the food is some of the best dishes you’ll get in the local area, the services team are very engaged! Breakfast is great and plentiful (the breakfast FOH ladies are truly lovely!), it is expensive, but is worth the money, I wish we’d pre-paid as we would have saved a fortune!

Rooms are modern and well stocked with extra glasses, etc. Not huge, but adequate. Also very well-insulated (so little outside noise). Yes beds are comfortable and pillows on the lighter side (perhaps request something firmer in advance if necessary).
The Spa area was closed due to a broken down sauna, which was disappointing given various online reports putting it in the top five best hotel spas in Berlin. The staff were apologetic and gave us vouchers to the Holmes Place spa. As it turns out, the hotel doesn’t have a pool anyway, counter to the way it appears online.
The fitness center is in the decent-enough range. You won’t manage to get a full workout in, but it does have all of the basics (TRX, cardio, basic weight machines, free weights, etc.).
Breakfast tasty and appropriately priced for the quality and selection (€34pp or €26 if ordered in advance for all days; you can’t get the discount if you want to select certain days and perhaps eat out on the others).
Staff overall very friendly and helpful. The highlight was the bar, which has EXCELLENT cocktails. Well-mixed and strong, great staff. Overall I’d recommend The Westin Grand if you want a medium-range five-star hotel with an old-world flair that isn’t as luxurious as The Adlon but offers fairly good bang for buck.

Had a 5 night stay at the Westin Grand. Staff were helpful and friendly. We were allocated a superior room with garden view which was a nice sized room, well appointed. The beds were comfortable. However, there was some noise from building works during the day, presumably the refurbishment of the spa. You could also clearly hear other guests in their rooms. The room was rather warm and you couldn’t control the air con, but you could open the window. Casting for the TV didn’t work properly and you couldn’t connect via HDMI. The hotel is well situated just off the UDL with easy access to public transport. I would consider staying again but the noise disturbance was an issue.

Other than that. I would recommend this place. We had large windows we could open to let fresh air in. Otherwise, note the AC doesn’t seem to work properly.

We didn’t quite get the feel of a luxury hotel during our stay at The Westin. For the price, it didn’t feel worth it.

We stayed two nights in a Deluxe King Room. The room was spacious and modern with a comfortable bed and sofa, but cleanliness was average. The bathroom had a few small insects, which was unpleasant.

The room was overly warm, and although we tried to adjust the air conditioning, it didn’t cool. Reception explained the central AC is only activated after several warm days and suggested opening the windows — but facing Friedrichstrasse, that made it very noisy. Soundproofing overall was poor.

Only one bottle of water was provided daily for two guests, and extra bottles incurred a charge — not very premium. The tea and coffee setup was minimal and not replenished, and the pillows were too soft with no firmer option. Wi-Fi was patchy.

Service felt perfunctory. Check-in was slow with limited staff and no proper waiting area. The lobby looks grand at first but feels dated on closer inspection.

Housekeeping was the biggest disappointment: our room wasn’t cleaned until we called, and when it was, the service was rushed and unprofessional.

On the positive side, the location is excellent — right on Friedrichstrasse, close to shops, cafés, and major sights.

Overall, the stay didn’t live up to the Westin brand. Having stayed at other Westins, this one felt like a downgrade in both service and attention to detail.

Everyone ee encountered was very attentive. Location cannot be beat. Great breakfast and lobby bar. The only minus is one cannot control the room’s temperature as it is “cold outside” which made for a few warm nights. Opening the window was not an option as Unter den Linden is loud with them open. Otherwise, excelent.

This hotel has a fabulous breakfast and work out room/spa. We had a garden view room and had a gorgeous view. The UBahn is right by the hotel for transportation. Shopping, food options and Brandenburg Gate are very close to the hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel.

However, the hotel lacks some services that are usually associated with great hotels--a variety of dining experiences, in-house or convenient diy laundry, in-house sales of toiletries, etc. Nevertheless a grand experience even if you just sit in the wonderful lobby.

I really enjoyed my stay at The Westin Grand Berlin. The location is excellent — close to the Brandenburg Gate, shops, and cafés, making it easy to explore the city. The breakfast buffet was a highlight, with fresh bread and plenty of variety, and the staff were warm and attentive throughout. The fitness centre was good, with modern cardio machines and enough space to train, though the weight equipment could use an update. My room was comfortable and quiet, making it a relaxing place to come back to after busy days in Berlin. Overall, a stylish, well-located hotel that I’d be happy to return to.

Great hotel in a perfect location

Perfect location for a first time city break to Berlin. So convenient to explore the city with historical landmarks, restaurants, and transport links all close by. Safe area with lots going on, but not at all noisy. We were given an upgraded room which was spacious and incredibly comfortable.

Breakfast was a bit busy at peak times but we tucked ourselves away from the main room which was a great option. It would be so nice if there were more vegan options available but cereals, fruit and bread were fine for our 3 night stay.

Every member of the team we interacted with was warm, friendly and helpful.

The Westin is in the middle of the most visited tourist areas - walkable to Museum Island, to the Brandenburg Tor, to Checkpoint Charlie. The metro station Unter den Linden is right around the corner from the entry, and Friedriche Strasse station for the trains and trams is a 7-10 minute walk. So many restaurants nearby, you can walk 5-10 minutes in any direction and find great food and souvenir shops. The hotel is elegant, breakfast wonderful. I would definitely recommend it and would stay here again

An incredible stay at the Westin Grand - all round fantastic service and hotel stay.
The staff were incredibly good and helpful, and the room was absolutely spotless. Lovely amenities within the room - Nespresso machine, fridge for personal use, wine/champagne glasses, bedside lavender sleep oil!
I would say the best hotel stay I have ever had. Fantastic location, very central but didn't feel too busy or touristy. The hotel itself is lovely - amazing grand foyer, which as architects we appreciated very much!
Would stay again in a heartbeat - the cakes in the lobby are incredible!

The staff at the Western Grand Berlín is fabulous. The location and property are really good also. Two things that prevent an “excellent” rating: 1) Next to no drawer space in the rooms. 2) and incredibly irritating motion-sensor light in the bathroom, that can’t be disconnected. If forces you into light if you enter the bathroom in the middle of the night (and want to stay in the dark to make it easier to get back to sleep) and the or goes off after ten seconds, only to snap back on at the slightest movements. Ok, yes, these are small problems, but it’s the small things that distinguish an excellent hotel stay from a good one. All said, however, I would stay here again.
