The room was very cold even when we cranked the heat to 31°C. When we ask the staff to give us a portable heater, they wanted us to put deposit for it. There is no coffee or water in the room. And no complementary coffee in the lobby. They charged us $15 for an early check in of a room that’s already empty. The TV had no English channel. The sink was leaking and leaked on our towels. Do not recommend staying in this hotel.

Great hotel

Fantastic location only a couple of mins away from the station where most of the train lines run through, including a 30 min direct train to the airport. Room was small but everything we needed at a great price so no complaints. Very clean. Friendly staff :)

Lovely.

Beautiful rooms, clean, convenient location and a lovely staff. Only downside is food, options, no snacks or vending machines after breakfast is served. As a woman traveling alone I felt safe and the location was perfect.

The wifi sucks. They will only allow 3 devices per room to connect to it. The connection speed is terrible. The doors do not lock properly, and someone barged into our room while we were still sleeping. The worst was when the fire alarm went off. I ran down the stairs to escape outside, only to have the front desk staff tell me it was a drill. Then tell me the day before when I checked in? Or at least make an announcement? A quick phone call? Nothing. I seriously thought there was a fire.

This hotel was a 3 star hotel with 5 star service. I cant say enough good things about the staff here. We were treated extremely well. They care about the guests and it shows. In all aspects, the front desk was excellent, the breakfast people were friendly and nice, Housekeeping was friendly and helpful. There was a young man at the desk that was extremely helpfull. I am ashamed I have forgotten his name. Very kind and helpful. The location is great. But you cannot match the service here.

The room was not cleaned everyday, trash was not taken out. There was no place to hang up the towel. How can anyone reuse it if it can't be dry? If you ask something from the front desk, it took hours to get it. When your neighbor is loud, the hotel wouldn't do anything. They basically said to endure it.

I have stayed at this hotel many times. I particularly like its location - just a couple of blocks from the Riverbank and its pubs, the Brecht Theatre, and many University faculties, I also have found the staff tremendously helpful in booking train tickets etc. Nice place.

This hotel is in a quieter area but within a few minutes walk there is access to the underground which gives you access to anywhere you want to go. There are several restaurants again a few minutes walk.
The hotel was clean and comfortable. There is not much privacy with the bathroom situation (the shower is not behind a door in a bathroom) but we knew this before booking.
The staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay.

Perfect if all you want is a clean room/shower.

Couldn't find fault. I was there for a stag do so was perfect for my needs. The room was quite small but big enough. For the price ideal. Very friendly staff, nice little bar in the reception area. Didn't have breakfast there so can't comment on that but well placed location wise. Enough shops/restaurants within a 10 minute walk to keep you going.

The room was nice and well-kept. The staff on reception were helpful, very pleasant and spoke excellent English thankfully as my German was very rusty and awful (sorry).

We really enjoyed our stay - the hotel was comfortable and a good location. Berlin was fab.

We were quite intrigued by the rather creepy building right next door to the hotel, but the hotel itself was just great for what we needed.

A nice quiet location away from the hustle & bustle but near enough to walk to the various tourist sites.

The room was spacious for 2 people with a good breakfast to start the day.

Another bonus was its proximity to the Boros private art collection next door to the hotel which is interesting but pre book before visiting as its not a walk in / walk out type gallery, perhaps 2 / 3 months before you intend to visit.

Overall a good hotel, spot on location & a great city.

Well located modern hotel. Ideal for large group.

The hotel is modern and very well located for the Berlin Mitte sites, transport links from Friedrickstrasse and the bar/restaurants of Schiffbauerdamm.
The rooms are modern and very compact, but they do use the space very efficiently and effectively.
We were a veteran football team over from the UK to play a match in Berlin and the hotel was ideal for a large group ( 17 people ) with no issues.

Living in a coffin

Twin rooms are not twin. The beds are joining in a double bed format and cannot be moved apart. There is no room to swing a cat either and shower separate to toilet room. Poor. I stayed in 3 hotels during my Berlin stay and this was the worst by some margin and each one was a near identical price per night. Better hotels can be found than this one most certainly.

Very friendly staff but when you check in they tell you what time breakfast starts but what they don't tell you is that you've to pay additional fee for it. They'll give you the bill when you check out. There were 2 more ppl that were checking out when I was checking out and both were surprised by the breakfast fee like I was. Everytime you're eating breakfast, they make you sign a paper so you wouldn't deny it. I feel that is deceptive practice. I usually have a toast and coffee for breakfast and I would have gotten that from the numerous cafes around the hotel for about 6 euros instead of the 13 euros the hotel charges.

The toilet and the shower are in separate rooms. Toilet is ok size and has its own sink. Both sinks are small and you'll wet your cloth or feet when washing your face/hands. Shower and room are small and there is mold in the shower.
Room is warm (in June), temp control is in the room. The room facing the courtyard is very very quiet and room has hardwood floor. Super big pillows, bed is medium comfy and you get gummy bears as a gift.
There are bunch of eateries around and bus 147 stops nearby. If you take bus 147 from the main train station, it takes 6 min to get to the hotel. Brandenburg Gate and Reichstag Building are 15 min walk from the hotel.

My family and I enjoyed our stay however, the hotel advertises that they have air conditioning but it was not working. The staff would not tell us if it was just our rooms or the entire hotel but did provide us with two fans. Normally this would not be an issue as I do not expect AC in Europe but we were travelling with our dogs and AC played into our hotel decision. The beds were comfortable but the pillows were too large. The location is great. 15 min walk to the Brandenberg Gate, 25 min to Potsdam Platz, 30 min walk to Alexander Platz and 10 min walk from many great restaurants.

The hotel is centrally located for visiting the major sights in Berlin by either walking or public transportation. Cafes are close by if you would like to grab a quick breakfast instead of the hotel breakfast. Our room was larger than normal (hotel upgraded us), however, the set-up of the room was odd. The bathroom sink area was across from windows which did not have shades/curtains. Although there was a separate shower and toilet door, privacy was limited. Otherwise, it was a very good stay and would consider staying here again.

About 10 minute walk from the Friedrichstrasse train station is a plus but you have to use the stairs from the bridge which is a good exercise if you can lift your luggage. Just keep walking until you see the name of the hotel outside which is covered by a tree. Overall, very clean small room with very good breakfast. Recommended!

Great hotel in good location

Best Western hotels don't usually disappoint, and this was no exception!
The room we were given looked exactly as advertised. It was updated, modern, clean, and very nice. The only two caviats were that the room was smaller than we had hoped (but rooms are usually fairly small in Europe), and that the layout of the room threw us off a bit (the toilet is in a separate enclosed space from the shower and accompanying mirror and is therefore quite small - it was weird to navigate).
The staff of the hotel were great, and very helpful when needed.
Breakfast at this hotel is also great, with a wide array of items to suit everyone's needs and is reasonably priced.
The location of the hotel is also great, only a 15 minute walk from Berlin HBF, a 5 minute walk from a metro line, and also close to the brandenburg gate, reichstag, Berlin Wall memorial, and tons of other activities.
Overall our stay was great, and we would definitely stay here again.

It was a comfortable stay and the staff very friendly and helpful. I had chosen a rather expensive time to stay as there was a Marathon and the hotel was very full. The level f furnishings in the rooms was good but not quite up to the standard I would have expected from Best Bestern as it lacked the personal touch in the rooms, I thought. But it was great for a one night stay. The room was quiet and wi-fi good.

Front desk staff are abrupt, unhelpful and curt. I don't think my room was cleaned one over a period of 4 days- they simply put towels in my room. The air conditioning just made noise, not cold air. Location is nice and it was quiet and easy to walk to.

Location is great where major attractions are in walking distance. The streets to hotel could be a but quiet after dark though.
Room is small. There is no space to sprwad out the luggage. The shower is separated from toilet. And there is no / very little room for own shower gel/ soap /shampoo/conditioner...
wifi is fairly stable. Had experience lags and disconnections a few times though.

I had stayed at this hotel a few years ago before I knew the city. I'm now amazed at what a convenient location it is. The river and several nice bars nice restaurants are a short walk away. As are the Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag, and the central train station. Also, plenty of shops nearby. The area though is very quiet.

Good hotel, very close to most tourist sites. The staff were helpful. The room was, however, very compact and the aesthetic of the hallways etc needs modernising. Good place to stay as a central base as you can walk everywhere and the facilities are clean and work well, but not if you plan to spend lots of time in the hotel itself due to space restrictions and decor.

The hotel was fine in regards to the room itself, but there was a strong smell of damp/sewage in my room on the 3rd floor. The friends I travelled with had a room on the 1st floor and had the same problem. Seemed to be a hotel-wide issue so there was no point complaining, and luckily we didn't spend too much time in our rooms so we just put up with it. Bearable, but not pleasant.

Best Western Mitte is a reasonable budget hotel located close to the main Friedrichstrasse business district. It is close to UBahn and Friedrichstrasse main station. Hotel is clean with good service. Bedrooms are small but comfortable, and have all modern requirements - shower, TV, wall safe etc. Also they have a computer and printer in the lobby - very useful for online airport check-in.

Weekend Historic Trip with Friends

Stayed here for a weekend sightseeing trip. Easy access from Friedrichstrasse station. Staff helpful and efficient. Rooms on the small side but functional and clean. Free wifi a bonus. Hot breakfast onsite was good and reasonable value. Front desk helpful and helped us book taxi for early flight out. Easy walking access to most things nearby. Good Italian in Albrechtstrasse and great local bar just across the street. Would stay here again.

I had a short time in Berlin, and wanted a hotel close to everything I wanted to see. This was a great value! Right downtown and within a 15 minute walk to the main train station.
