Perfect base for a trip to Berlin. Clean and comfortable rooms, the Calma M was very big and had lovely large windows. Lots of shops, cafes and restaurants close by and right next to a tram stop and U bahn. Will definitely stay there again

Very nice staff but the hotel itself is nothing special. Location is quite nice with easy and quick access to public transportation. Not having AC in the heat of mid August was not great. For the price we paid I’d expect that. It was very hot in our room.

Excellent stay. The room was spacious and clean.
The location was excellent and walks kid to all major hubs.
The staff was friendly and professional, especially Abdel and Nelly.
However, I would change the time of the breakfast hours. Because even if it says it's available until 11am, a rather sour lady eager to finish her shift starts cleaning up at 10:30am.

The room was a nice size and clean. The breakfast was great! This was a nice, quiet location. The bed was not so comfortable - woke every day with a back ache. The check in process was very frustrating and stressful. We arrived at the hotel Sunday 7pm after an overnight flight & found that the doors were locked, and no one was at the reception. The sign on the door said we should have received an email with check in instructions but we did not get an email. We were very tired, and could not get into the building. We tried contacting the hotel through Whatsapp with the number on the door but no one replied. We probably were outside 30 minutes when another hotel guest came out, and tried to help us. She gave us a different phone number and we sent a text to that number and about 10 minutes later finally got a reply. Until we got the reply (after 40 minutes of standing outside), we thought we were going to have to find a different hotel and were worried about being charged when we couldn't get inside or get into our room.

Over all our stay was very good. Noisy with windows open to allow fresh air in. No air. Water pressure good with excellent hot water. Free coffee and tea great idea in reception but it would have been nice to have a kettle in room for out of hours cuppa. Pillows need firmer an keep shape.

Stayed just for one night. Room was very modern and clean; has everything you would need.
Very good communication with the property.
All the staff members were helpful and friendly.
Stored my luggage (heavy DJ equipment :D after check-out and had a few local beers at the bar/restaurant in the lobby.
Excellent location! 5 min taxi trip from Berlin Central Station.
Can easily recommend to anyone :)

Hotel was clean and simple. Everything you need. Tucked into a courtyard it was well away from traffic noise. Easy to reach with the tram from the main train station. Easy to get to Alexanderplatz and Rotes Rathaus Christmas Market. Staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was an extra cost but very delicious with a good choice of food.

The staff are friendly. The digital keys for the property worked really well and I particularly liked the carpeted room, this gave the room a very cozy feel. Location is good with great access to restaurants and transport. It’s about a 10-15 min walk from museum island and about 20 mins from the tv tower.

One thing to be aware of and this is no fault of the hotel, is that you should be aware of phishing. A week out from my arrival I was contacted through WhatsApp by someone claiming to be a hotel employee stating I had to resubmit payment details otherwise I would lose the booking. This was a scam. I contacted the hotel separately through Expedia and the hotel confirmed very quickly that this was a phishing attempt and not the hotel. They stated to not provide any details and to block/delete the contact. I would recommend that if you are unsure of anything, especially if you’re contacted outside of Expedia, to double check with the hotel though Expedia before taking any action.

Overall I had a good stay and I would very happily stay there again in the future.

The room was spacious for a family of 4. No air conditioner was inconvenient. We only had 1 small fan for my kids. The windows were open but it was too noisy to get enough sleep. The shower was also too small. Overall, hotel is overpriced considering the lack of air conditioning.

We stayed at the room that has the window face to the street. The room has no ac and refrigerator. We had to open the window to let air in. Since the window is facing to the road, it is so noisy and we couldn’t sleep. If you are booking a room there, make sure look for a room that is facing to a courtyard.

This hotel was very clean and tidy but for £175 a night I would have expected Air Con and breakfast!

Breakfast turned out to be 15E each which I thought was expensive.....45 euros for breakfast! Our stays in Vienna and Prague both included breakfast or it was a much more reasonable 8 euros.

The room was large but unfortunately as it was at the front of the courtyard smoke from people smoking outside wafted to us!!! :-(

We stayed at the property for 3 nights in June. The property was well maintained, the housekeeping service was great, support staff was very responsive to email communications. I was not attentive to the fact that the room did not have air conditioning when I booked the reservation. Unfortunately, Berlin was having a heat wave which made sleeping difficult, the floor fan did help.

Excellent location ! Between 5-8 coffee shops within 2-3 min walking distance. Trams/train stops a few yard away. Hotel staff are super friendly and all guests also get free coffees between 11am and 9pm (regardless if you paid for breakfast or not).

They have a lovely courtyard for relaxing during good weather and it's a very safe location bang in the middle of Berlin (Mitte). Magic John's NY style Pizza is also a 2 min walk away :)

You can't go wrong here in terms of location and cleanliness, it's perfect for families.

It was very clean, friendly & helpful staff. The location and area is fantastic. Loads of great restaurants & coffee shops within 2-3 minutes walk from hotel, trams & train station 4-5 min walk. The hotel is in the Mitte Borough which means you are centrally located and close to everything. Although so central the hotel is quiet and peaceful so you can enjoy a very comfortable rest at night. Great price, great hotel!

The staff was very nice and helpful. They gave us a map and showed us where we could visit things in Berlin. The room we stayed in was nice and big and very comfortable. The only thing that was lacking was AC and it’s on a busy/noisy street, so leaving the windows open is not ideal. Despite that inconvenience, I would stay here again.

LOCATION: Perfect location in the Mitte district. Both the tram and U-Bahn stops are right around the corner. The hotel entrance is in a quiet courtyard. Lots of restaurants and shops next to hotel.
ROOM: Our room was beautiful- tall windows and adequate heating system. We were upgraded to a bigger room upon arrival free of charge and this room was a suite style. The design was sleek and modern and felt very comfortable. Bathroom was perfect.
SERVICE: Mostly though, I loved the friendliness of the receptionist, Sophie (blonde hair). She was extremely helpful and gracious. Her English was perfect- not that I expect people in other countries to cater to a English speakers, but it was such a nice touch.
Overall, I absolutely loved our stay here and recommend it to everyone.

Very clean, safe and new property. I was a solo female traveler and did not once feel unsafe in the hotel or the area. Central location, kind of mid point and walkable to all tourist sites. Tram line and many restaurants/cafes 2 mins walk away. I did a late checkin post 1am and the hotel provided me clear instructions for accessing the night entrance. Room was tight which is the case in most Europe but very organized layout.

Only thing they could improve - provide free coffee/tea/hot water in the lobby area since the room doesn’t come with a water kettle or coffee maker.

Great place. I recommend it. The one thing I would ask them to add is an ice machine and queen size blankets in the queen size bed. Otherwise I has a great experience with them, awesome breakfast, friendly and responsive staff, renovated room, really worth every penny! Oh and a great location for those relying on public transport - one block from tram, subway, and bus service, and lots, I mean LOTS, of restaurants.

The room was essentially a bed, the shower on one side and toilet on the other. Not bad but the staff leave after 10pm and the place shuts down. You are strongly reminded to hang onto your key. I didn’t realize that and probably would have opted for more service in that regard. The room was boutique chic and nice enough. The neighborhood was very nice and convenient.

The location is good, right in Mitte and situated in a very quiet area. There is a bakery with cheap breakfast within one minute walk, and many other cafe nearby too. Room is big enough for 4 of us. The sofa bed however was right outside the bathroom door so it was inconvenient to use bathroom at night because the light would shine on the kids who slept on sofa bed. It's close to Tram, Ubahn, and Sbahn, easy to get to from Tegel Airport. Would stay again.

Staff weren’t helpful at all. Nobody was there when we arrived so we struggled to find our room. Upon getting in our room had two single beds after requesting a double. I emailed asking for some dairy free milk to be available at the tea and coffee downstairs to which they never did either. On top of all of this there was not a single person at the front desk for us to check out. All in all felt like I was staying in an apartment instead of a hotel.

The Calma was quiet and clean. I am female and was staying here solo and I felt very safe. The location is fantastic. There are a ton of things to walk to, including many cafes, shopping, museums and other sites. I will stay here again if I am ever back in Berlin.
