Had an emergency situation and didn't flew over seas and couldn't stay. Did not get refund or partial refund. The woman taking care of my reservation very pleasant and understanding but there was nothing she could do. This was for a week stay. If you book a stay book straight to the hotel no third party.

We stayed in an apartment and we loved it. We would stay here again. Fab location. Great staff. Especially great for young people but worked well for us over 40. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. It was nice to have coffee for the morning. The bed was comfortable and a good size for two adults. The only thing to improve is temperature control. The room faced east and warmed up the big windows fast and there is no A/C. So we managed ok balancing working the blinds with getting fresh air. It would have been nice if temperature were easier to manage in that apartment.

Very conveniently located, with the downside that it was exceedingly noisy at night. Room (slept in a shared dorm) was quite warm, and the bathroom facilities did not smell amazing, although they appeared clean and well maintained. Staff were friendly and the building itself was quite nice, and I felt safe staying there.

First solo trip stay.
Was a bit skeptical leading up to it however pleasantly surprised since the room was fab.
Bunk bed was comfy and I fit being 6’4”,cubby hole to stash stuff with two usb ports for charging or a book etc.
Showers just down the hall were clean and the shower had plenty of pressure behind it.
Hostel bar downstairs was good fun to have a bit off a social.
The location was great, on a metro line or a short walk from Alexander Platz (10-15mins) with good food options around the hostel

The location is good, close to public transportation. I reserved single room, smelled bad, no ventilation and they don’t open the doors, since they don’t clean it or bring towels every day. No power outlet near the bed except loose USB, that keeps disconnecting.

I particularly liked the hostel's character and the location. The proximity to public transportation, while located on a relatively quiet street with plenty of charming places to enjoy a coffee or a branch within 1-2' walk distance. Breakfast was also great, with plethora of protein, carbs and vitamin-loaded options. And maybe I was lucky, but in these 3 days and nights I stayed there, every single staff and guest i saw in room, lobby and breakfast area were all looking and acting in a social and very sharp style.

Nice and easy check-in. Even easier check out. Right near the U8 line and multiple tram lines to get around town.

The only downfall of room 201 was the first bunks seen when opening the door; the top bunk has a bad mattress (springs are too worn) and the USB charging ports don’t function.

Booked a quiet, comfortable and spacious single room for four nights. The shared bathroom was clean and never busy. The staff were friendly and very helpful, especially with questions about getting around Berlin. There wasn’t a guest kitchen but there was a free breakfast buffet from 8am until 1pm daily.

The staff are amazing and the place looks brand new, with comfy bunk beds.

The cafe downstairs is really nice, has nice breakfast and good coffee, public transport is right outside.

BAD;
My usb by my bed was pushed into the wall so I couldn’t use it to charge my phone on top bunk.

No aircon, and it was soo hot all 8 ppl in the room couldn’t sleep. We had a small fan in the room that didn’t reach the top bunk.

The noise outside the window was sooo loud! Could hear the ambulances in the middle of the night going pass several times a night and the tram going pass. Sound proof windows are needed.

Bathrooms are relatively clean, the soap never foams in your hands, felt like I haven’t washed my hands after several days.

Good place for making friends

I stayed for 3 nights with a friend. The stay was good and the hotel is located near many restaurants and next to a train station that makes it easy to go places
The best part about it is the bar in the basement which makes it convenient to grab a drink and meet other fellow travelers. I made some new friends there. They bar has their own beer which was pretty tasty to be such a small brewery.

Perfect hostel for a solo traveller! Reception staff were lovely. Could hire bikes for €12 a day. Immaculately clean throughout. Bed was comfortable with a huge locker for belongings and a personal cubby hole with USB chargers. Hostel was in a great location with the underground and tram station right outside. Offered free walking tours which I did and really enjoyed. Very secure with keycard access required everywhere. Had its own bar with micro brewery where I made some friends. I really enjoyed it there for my first time as a solo traveller.

Ive stayed in a lot of hostels in Berlin but this is by far the best. Spotlesslessly clean, comfy beds, great facilities and even relatively quiet. Area around has a lot going on and offers all you need for a short trip. Will definitely be back.

Amazing location, amazing staff. However your booking systems needs to allow for staff to add notes, my group of 5 who asked prior to booking to be in the same room couldn’t be made possible even though when we arrived there was an empty bed. Don’t ask.

Annoying also that the USB ports next to my bunk were broken but none the less it’s a wicked hostel. Great flat white- the little cafe is a god send

Clean Hotel, not a Hostel

The Circus Hostel is NOT A HOSTEL in the traditional sense. It's a cheaper, decent quality hotel. Although there is a brewery/bar, it does not promote a social atmosphere in the traditional hostel sense. It's clean and it 'does the job' for a peaceful night's sleep, but it is not a hostel. The breakfast buffet which costs 5 Euros is average. They are so cheap that they don't offer coffee or tea refills! The only positive I will say about the breakfast is that they have eggs! For as much profit margin as they seem to be getting, the least they could do is provide unlimited coffee.

Close to a lot of attractions, the City Circus feels like a home away from home. The staff are friendly and helpful about getting around.
Breakfast is good value, first drink ordered is free (though I wasn't impressed that because I said coffee before orange juice, they charged me £3.20 when if I'd said orange juice then coffee it would only be £2, seemed like semantics to me).
The bar/brewery downstairs is great fun and the bartenders are super friendly. They brew their own beer which I thought a nice touch.
The rooms were clean and I loved the Hasselhoff prints about the place, always nice to see a hostel that doesn't take itself too seriously.
Close to public transport (tram stop at the door!) but no need to take it as you can walk everywhere in Berlin.
Didn't have a problem with any guests and stayed in a 6-bed mixed dorm (though it appears all bathrooms are shared which I found slightly unusual).
All up though, probably my second favourite hostel in Europe. Would definitely go back!

A hostel with a small area vibe in the middle of Berlin.

Location: Literally less than a minute walk from Rosenthalerplatz u bahn station. Probably about 15-20 minute walk away from the Museum Island and Hackeschermarkt. Venue offers certain tours off the vicinity of the hostel which is nice. Location has some quick eats around the hostel (Backeries, Doner some convenience shops).
Staff: Staff were all friendly and helpful actually. I arrived early before check in and the staff was able to hold my luggage in a secure room and give me a map with directions for things to check out. I had not issues here.
Amenities: Towels are offered for rent for 1 euro. Lockers are held in the room but require you to either bring your own lock or borrow one. My biggest issue with this hostel is that the bathrooms and showers are outside the rooms.
Rooms: Room was actually quite spacious with the lockers in there. My room also came with a small balcony space for smoking which was nice. Only issue was there was no power outlet (had USB but no electrical outlet) accessible to the upper bunk bed.

Excellent location right in the middle of everywhere. 10 min walk to alexanderplatz. Great selection of restaurants and cafes. Tram and U ban right at the door. Super helpful and friendly staff. Super clean. First hostel I stayed without unpleasant odor in bathroom and hallway. Plenty of short and bathroom I never had to wait. But if you want a good night sleep be sure to get ear plugs and eye mask. It is super noisy 24/7. Over all, a great place for a short stay!

Quite noisy at night (because of the bar/convenience store opposite - had to leave the windows open cos there’s no aircon), but bed was comfortable. Bathroom was alright, the staff try to keep it clean, but cleanliness really depends on those who share it with you. Bar ambience wasn’t much to shout about though. Locations was alright, easy to get to places either by walking or taking the tram/train, staff are quite helpful. Surprised that they charge for storing luggage (in lockers) when you arrive early.

Excellent breakfast at good price if required and all areas bright and clean.
First class security for gaining access to floors and therefore rooms by elevator.
Surrounded by reasonably priced restaurants and eateries of various nationalities.
Access to public transport right on the doorstep.
Excellent informative guide book produced by the hostel and various staff in all rooms and also for sale at reception with interesting info of things to do around the city and particularly in the immediate area plus history of how the hostel actually came to be and grew so successfully from a young backpackers dream!

Great facilities, very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms were clean, tidy and spacious. The people you talk to when visiting are from all over and you’ll have great conversations. It helps there’s a bar in the basement and an outside area to chill and/or have drinks anytime during the day. Breakfast is very reasonable for all you can eat until early afternoon. Great location for the Metro as it’s on pavement outside the door and the u Bahn is just there also!

Great hostel, would definitely recommend. We had bad sleep on the first night but this was because our room faced the main road and there was a football match on, so I wouldn't hold it personally against the hostel (more so the fact that the Germans love to sing... in booming voices... until 3am). Bathrooms were always available and so clean! The hostel itself was quiet in the rooms but lively downstairs. Great luggage storage facilities. Beds comfortable and clean.

Really funky place close to some great eating places - Vietnamese around the corner, great gin bar a minutes' walk away, Syrian restaurant also close. Stylish communal areas and a friendly bar in the basement. Well worth a visit.
