The breakfast was excellent. The choice is limited to 5 or 6 meals but the actual food was exceptional. Gorgeous homemade meals eg avocado on sourdough or muesli & fruit. There are no cereals or a buffet but there are croissants for younger children.

We had an amazing stay at the Circus Hotel! Cannot fault it.
Location was great - lots of bars and restaurants closeby and right beside subway/tram/bus stops.
Our room had everything we needed and was very comfortable.
The bar area was lovely - a great place to hang out - with excellent staff there to recommend drinks!
In fact - everyone was so kind and helpful - we would not hesitate to stay again!

All staff are welcoming and helpful. Our room was comfortable spacious and quiet. We had what the hotel calls a large room (junior suite) looked out onto the courtyard. The breakfast was cooked to order and was very nice. The hotel bar area had a good vibe. Great hotel ideal location for transport options and nice choice of restaurants and cafes around the hotel. Definitely recommend.

What a wonderful little hotel!
Room was spotlessly clean, amazing comfy beds and a HUGE bathroom with fantastic Malin + Goetz products. Would recommend the upgrade to the large room which overlooks the courtyard. We had room 301 .
Staff were wonderfully friendly and the bar serves great drinks. Transport links right outside the hotel and it’s so easy to travel around the city.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a central stay in Berlin.

What a great little gem in Berlin. The staff and up keep were on point. Super easy to get around with both the tram and subway literally steps away. Need a little help, the staff on all levels were more than willing. They always went out of there way to make you feel welcome. I know where I'm staying when I return to Berlin!

From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and at ease. On check-in for our 5-night stay, we were upgraded to an apartment, which afforded us some extra space and a small kitchen. The rooms and common areas were clean and thoughtfully designed and a small rooftop patio provides expansive views over the city, but the truth is...Berlin is at your doorstep. You're only steps away from trams and trains that bring the whole city with in reach, and the neighborhood is a buzz with diverse eateries, shops and unique experiences. Take the M1 up to the PraterGarten or down to Hackescher Markt and lose yourself in the courtyards of the höfes. My wife and i are avid travelers, and the Circus Hotel is a place we could return to time and again.

Loud, no AC, and lacks basic TV in room

We were booked into room 107 and the moment we opened the door we were immediately disappointed as it was facing the street and was extremely noisy and small. The room had a smart tv that had no access to the internet and had no English language channels (CNN or BBC). In fact the tv had mostly German shopping channels like QVC times seven. I had friends in the same building who had a tv with YouTube and CNN and BBC but apparently our TV lacked these options. I asked for assistance and the staff discovered that room 107 had a tv without basic options found in other rooms in the hotel. I was offered no formal compensation. The hotels also lacks AC. It has a nice back patio and top level space outdoors but one server tried to shortchange me by nearly 20 euros on the bill which left a bad impression.

This was our first time visiting in Berlin during a vacation. we chose this hotel as it was recommended by a friend and it seemed central. once we checked in, we found out there is no air
conditioning in the rooms. the web site says there is ac but once you get there they say its chilled water pipes in the walls however this never worked. this would not have been problematic if we could leave our windows open but this was impossible since the trams are running right in front and there are several restaurants nearby so very noisy. i had to sleep with the windows closed and earplugs. plus the matress was very soft so sleeping comfortably was a problem. the tv had only 1 working non german channel….we were there 4 days and by the third i was itching to leave. this hotel is better suited for the 20 to 30 yr old crowd that might not mind all the action around the place. Berlin though is a very exciting city and worth a visit!

I really loved staying at this hotel. It has such a cool, unique style. Really well-designed and full of thoughtful little details that make it feel special. You can tell a lot of care went into creating the space.

The location is amazing, right near the subway and super close to all the main sights. Plus, the neighborhood is packed with great restaurants and cute cafes, so there’s always something nearby to check out.

The staff were awesome too, super friendly and helpful the whole time. Honestly, it was just a great experience all around. I’d definitely stay here again!

My single room was a good size, the bathroom was larger thn I expected. The staff speak great English, and the French toast for breakfast was gorgeous. The hotel is in a very handy location, for the Underground and trams, and I felt safe walking alone nearby even at 11pm at night. It is close to Hackescher Market (a bit like Camden Market) and the Hackescher cinema (which shows films in English or with English subtitles) the area nearly feels a bit like Soho, young and arty(but not so crowded).

Happy with our stay!

We were at the Circus Hotel for 3 nights. Unfortunately our room faced a very busy area so it was noisy if we tried to open the windows. The location was within walking distance to many of the major sites. Hotel was clean and staff was very friendly. Having a car was a hassle as we had to obtain a parking pass from the hotel for a parkade one block away which is no small feat in busy Berlin! The hotel definitely met our needs.

Lovely stay in a Superior room, our son and daughter-in-law stayed in a basic room which did look a bit small for the money. The hotel had a good breakfast, you could order from the menu and not pay the expensive all-in option. They had lovely cards with ideas of unusual things to do in Berlin. One issue was that the safe got stuck, wouldn't recognise the code, with our passports in it but the night receptionist sorted it out for us after about half an hour and got it open. So good service.

The location is great, lovely area with lots of cafes and restaurants and easy access to the U Bahn. Only criticism is no milk in the rooms for the tea and coffee. We’ll definitely be back!

We loved our stay. Great location, and the Maisonette apartment was brilliant for 3 people… so these are just niggles:
• Sofa bed had only one comfy spot to lie in
• Shower didn’t drain brilliantly

• Would have been nice to be able to sort out recycling

The Circus Hotel is a great option when visiting Berlin! The location is convenient right near a U-Bahn and Tram stop, so connections can be made throughout the city. There are multiple restaurants and cafes in the area, giving many good options for eating and drinking at all times of day. The room was clean and modern, and the staff is friendly. We would recommend this hotel to anybody visiting Berlin for a free days.

I was told room cooling was being fixed, so it was a little warm during the summer. My room was also facing the street, so it was a bit loud from the tram and ambulances with the windows open. With the windows closed, it was much more tolerable. Location was awesome, very convenient. Staff was friendly. Nice bar downstairs.

No air conditioning in extreme heat

No air conditioning in 100-degree weather! The a/c was broken and they couldn't get somebody to fix it until after I was leaving. It was about 90 degrees in my room. I ended up leaving right away and going to another hotel and they still tried to bill me, but then graciously gave me my money back after I pushed back.

Great hotel at a super fun location

Hotel was absolutely first rate. Staff were fantastic and responsive. Room was wonderful. Love the location… lots of bars and restaurants within a few minutes walk. Very lively location! My only negative is that the breakfast offered at the lobby is way overpriced at €25 for a continental breakfast. For half that you can get a real breakfast within a few minutes walk.

The Circus is a quirky hotel that ticks most boxes. Very friendly helpful staff, clean and reasonably well situated it is let down massively by the lack of air conditioning. We did have a fan in the room and fully opening windows. But, although we had a fourth floor room that was great it overlooked the main junction, and the trams were very noisy. Getting a good comfortable nights sleep wasn’t easy. And breakfast was expensive. We chose to eat at more reasonably priced local cafes.
