Would 100% recommend this to anyone staying in Berlin. We booked the two room apartment because we were travelling with teenage boys, and the space is great for this.
Every amenity you wish for in a hotel room, but with the addition of more space and a kitchen!
The manager that we met was so lovely and helpful. Location was excellent, and lots of nice restaurants nearby.

This flat is in a great location in Mitte. Close to all kinds of restaurants, attractions and transportation. The flat was clean, small but worked for 3 of us. The check in process was little bit to be desired, but they made it work for us and we were thankful for that. Overall probably 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Our family loved that the U8 and the M1 & M8 were just steps away from our entrance. Lots of restaurant options and convenience stores just a short walk away. Not too noisy although we had a balcony right in the center square. The A/C was such a luxury in one bedroom of 3 and the kitchen/living area. Reception was so helpful with restaurant recommendations and to print our ICE train ticket, and store luggage till our room was ready. I would definitely stay again!

Apartment is modern and in great location. Right next to subway station (U-Bahn, U8 line), and tram, and bus.
The “deluxe apartment” has two rooms and one bathroom. They put an extra bed, so it can sleep 6 (2 one room, 4 the other).
Very active neighborhood. You can hear the cars from the bigger room.
Reception is open 9-5pm. They have emergency phone line for afterwards.
Lots of restaurants near by. The Turkish donor place across the street is open 23 hours/day.
Heater didn’t work one day. Had to turn it off then on from the switchbox (as instructed by reception).
Would stay here again.

The positives are that we couldn’t fault the location - perfect for the town square and sightseeing and room was very clean and practical.

Be aware the hotel is very dated - even with it’s amazing history there are improvements that could be made: beds were very small, uncomfortable mattress, very very light curtains (meaning you were awake every morning at sunrise.)

An alarm went off very early one morning for an incredibly long time - no checks at all (certainly not on the top floor) or explanation from staff who we saw at breakfast.

Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice and the hotel can do packed lunches for you if you ask.

Overall, with so many options available I’m not sure we’d stay here again however if you’re looking for a perfect location we couldn’t fault it on that.

The apartment was in a great location, located by the subway (Rosenthaler Plat) and many restaurants. My husband and I chose a 2-bedroom apartment for us and our three boys (ages 13, 11, and 9) and it was perfectly large for us all to sleep comfortably. The communication from the front desk for check in was amazing. Rather than a check-in during business hours, they were able to send us online codes to check in and it was an absolute breeze after taking an 8-hour train from Paris.

There are a few downsides to this apartment (and the others in the building, I assume). One would be the beds inside of the apartment. They were incredibly firm/hard, and by the end of our five day stay, my back and neck were in a lot of pain. The pillows were also not great, not nearly enough support.

Another complaint was the level of street noise. While we LOVED the view of the street (we were on the fourth floor, and while there was no balcony, there were large windows), the noise from the street was very distracting, especially at night while we were trying to sleep.

But there is air conditioning, which is a huge bonus when you visit during the summer. There is nothing better than air conditioning after walking around Berlin on the hot days.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay in Berlin and at the Rosenthal Residence Apartments. With some small improvements, we would very likely stay again!

The check-in went smoothly even if we were late. The staff actually called to remind us to check in online. The place was easy to find, and close to restaurants, tram, and subway. It was actually walking distance to sites. The only thing is the noise at night. It is situated in a very busy area and you can hear the voices of people having fun outside, tram, police siren, etc. We didn’t mind though because we fell asleep easily after doing a lot of walking in Berlin. And also, no parking spot. We had to go to the Decathlon parking spot in Alexanderplatz to park our car for 2 days (by the way, you need exact change to pay for parking)…. Will recommend

Great apartments - check emails before you arrive

Apartments are fantastic. The location is fantastic. But be aware that reception closes at 19:00 - at least on a Saturday, and if you arrive after that you have to go through a process of filling out an online form in German uploading an image of your ID, and then approving a security deposit via credit card. Only then do you get a code to access the apartment (with key cards inside).

I was driving so not checking me emails, plus most were all in German - though there was one sent in English via Hotels.com.

I’d still stay again, it’s just not necessarily as straightforward as you might think.

Too expensive&wrongly advertised - avoid in summer

The location& cleanliness of this property is great and the interior has been designed with great attention to detail.

However the property is extremely hot in summer and the provided fans don’t make a difference. Opening a window is possible however not if you want to sleep as you are by a main road which has constant traffic even in the middle of the night - during our stay not one of us had a comfortable night sleep.

Furthermore we booked a two bedroom apartment thinking we would get two bedrooms. However the second bedroom is basically a sofa bed in a corridor with no windows through which everyone has to pass to get to the bathroom.

We weren’t provided with a WiFi password or bath matt nor sufficient towels and second key.

If it would have cost half as much as we paid, I’d have accepted all the faults but for how pricey this was it was a disappointment.

Perfect location!

Perfect location, perfect apartment! My wife, 2 kids and I stayed for 4 nights and it was exactly what we hoped for. Very clean apartment with a 500 foot walk to public transportation (U-Bahn and the trams) The proximity of the apartment to public transportation make every point of the city accessible. Plenty of restaurants just steps outside of the building and a “REWE” grocery store about 1/4 of a mile away. We could not have asked for a better place.
The street outside is a bit noisy but we knew that going in, and the noise doesn’t bother our family, so for us, it was a non-issue.
If we ever find ourselves in Berlin again, we will definitely be staying here!

Great location with plenty of restaurants and public transportation near by. The room was clean and well established with a mini-kitchen and all the dishes needed to use it. The only downsides were the coffee was only included for the first day, the rest you had to buy and the WiFi occasionally went out. There was a tram track on the road outside, but in Berlin you'd be hard pressed to find a property not near a track and it did not bother me. Overall it was a good property and I'd definitely stay there again.

We enjoyed our trip and the comfort of the apartment was good, however we asked for a 2 bedroom apartment and this wasn’t really the case.
One of the bedrooms was infact the living room/kitchen with a bed in it so occupants from the other room couldn’t use the kitchen without entering the main bedroom. The second bedroom also had the only entrance to the bathroom so there was no privacy here either and we had to go through someone else’s room to use the toilet/wash room.
We did ask for another room but were told all the rooms were fully booked.
The apartment was well decorated and furnished but the room layout situation was not made clear on the website when booking.
This is more of a one bedroom apartment with a bedroom/kitchen doubling as a second room.
Would not likely stay here again knowing the issues raised above.

Great location in the heart of Mitte. Close to the subway and in walking distance for a very hip shopping area and wonderful Saturday Craft and Farmer's Market.

Only downside was that the wifi didnt work uniformly well around the apartment. Significantly weaker spaces in key working areas. if that can be fixed, it would be perfect.

The unit is clean and seems new. The staff are very helpful and friendly. It is within walking distance of most attractions if 30min plus is easy for you. Otherwise there is a tram right outside. The only thing that would have made our stay perfect would have been air conditioning for those 30c+ days. It was difficult to sleep in the high overnight temperatures.

Worst choice of hotels of our trip.

The hotel NEVER mentioned that they DO NOT have air conditioning! The other hotels would have mentioned in their website that they don't have AC.
They mentioned that they have laundry FACILITY. But instead only laundry SERVICE. There is none washing machines or dryers in the hotel. Need to pay for laundry. Don't want to spend $2 Euro to have my underwear clean!

Very central location, a little noisy.

The location of this apartment is amazing. Very central and quite near to Hackescher Mkt, a meeting point for many local guided tours originating from Berlin. However, our family prefers a quieter location which this apt cannot offer. Due to its central location, the tram can be heard at night and it disturbs our rest. Other than that, the apt is very clean; bathroom large and comfortable. I will recommend this for those who wants a central location.

Overpriced apartment. Be aware of what you book!

We were excited about staying at this place and unfortunately, we were terribly disappointed with the apartment. We were 5 people and the place sounded excellent for us. It was centrally located and it seemed to offer plenty of space for all of us. The description implied there would be 2 bedrooms and a living room / kitchen with a sleeping sofa. Unfortunately, it turned out that it was just one bedroom and the other room was the common area as well as the sleeping area for 3 people, i.e a double bed and a sleeping sofa. Therefore, the place was way too crammed to be comfortable for 5 of us for four nights.
Furthermore, the apartment was extremely hot. The provided fan was not working and the staff told us to open all the windows to create some draft to cool down the apartment. Even with the windows closed it was very noisy and opening the windows made it worse, as the hotel is located at a very busy intersection.
Considering typical hotel prices in the area and that the total cost for this reservation was over $1,200, we expected more from a \"deluxe\" apartment. I feel that the hotel description and images were very misleading. We ended up booking four double rooms right in Alexanderplatz for less than what we were charged here!
As we booked the flexible rate, we assumed that we would be able to cancel 3 of the 4 nights. We were shocked that we had to pay the full price.
Overall, we cannot recommend staying at this place.

Nice place in Berlin Mitte

The room was very nice and recently remodeled. Stayed here in late August/early September. They did not have air conditioning yet, but had some very nice fans in the room and were very helpful. The AC was really not an issue for us, and the front desk indicated that they are getting AC very soon. The room was spacious and close to many restaurants, and to the train. It is very easy to get around in Berlin from the apartment. Really enjoyed the hotel and Berlin. Would stay here again.

We really loved the location of this place--within a block of the Rosenthaler Platz U-Bahn station and many very good local restaurants and coffee shops--I highly recommend The Barn. The Felix apartment we stayed in had a great layout for us-- 4 adults (2 grandparents, 2 parents) and 2 young kids. We don't really care about the typical services hotels offer as long as we have solid space at a good price and the place is clean. This was a fantastic place that met all our needs at a great price.

The hotel is modern, well equipped absolutely spotless. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable, they were able to assist with advice in the area, sights to see etc and were most courteous. However we were disappointed with the alleged two rooms, the second which we thought to be a bedroom, was in fact a wide corridor, in which there was a double bed and just enough room to walk down one side. To access the bathroom from the main room you had to go through this room, which wasn't fair in the middle of the night and disturbing our son. As with other reviews the place is very hot, no air conditioning and some ineffective fans, having the windows open was touch with the traffic noise - engines running at the junction - and the smell of traffic pollution. Overall we had a good stay. I would recommend that if a stay was planned to go in the winter and depending on the type of accommodation just two people.

Perfect location, wonderful hotel, will def return

We LOVED our stay here! It's perfectly situated in the center of town, close to everything, 2 stops from Alexanderplatz. When the windows are open, you can hear the sounds from the street of the trams and the cars, but it's very well-insulated and when they are closed, it is quiet. We were a couple with 3 small kids. The kitchenette is great! It has a fridge and freezer, a dishwasher, a coffee machine, a toaster, pots, full dining sets. It doesn't have a kettle or a microwave, but it wouldn't stop us from coming back. THere seems to be heating for the cold months. There isn't AC for the summer, but we were there in August and the evenings just aren't hot at all and we didn't need it anyway. There's a large fan as well. The apartment is very spacious, which is important when you are traveling with small kids. The TV is a smart TV so other than the German channels, there's also YouTube (and probbaly more things). The wifi is very strong - I was able to work without any problem (which wasn't true for the hotel I was at the last time I was in Berlin). I absolutely recommend this hotel and we will absolutely be returning.

Good hotel in good location

Lovely stay room clean and comfortable although some traffic noise. Well equipped. Close to underground to get into centre of city. Lots of good restaurants close by. Room suitable for a young family or a couple or friends travelling together as bed arrangement very flexible.

Lovely clean modern apartment

have just returned from a long weekend in Berlin, staying at Apartments Rosenthal Residence with two friends.

When we arrived at reception we were greeted by a really friendly and informative receptionist, who gave us a map of the area and pointed out key tourist attractions that we might like to visit. There were also lots of information leaflets in reception too.

Our room was on the third floor and we had one of the deluxe studio apartments. Our room had a large double bed (two twins pushed together), and one sofa bed. The beds were really comfy and we had a choice of two pillows. The room was really clean and spotless, and had everything we needed. The room had a hair dryer, soap, show gel, body lotion, ipod docking station, smart tv with netflix/amazon etc, towels. There were also lots of plug sockets which was very useful especially as we had a 3 person room. There were also two full length mirrors in the room.
The kitchenette was well equipped with crockery, hob, kettle and coffee machine. The mini bar had reasonably priced snacks and drinks available.
Overall, I would highly recommend these apartments.

Pros:
Modern, very clean, well equipped, friendly staff, good location, lots of bars/shops nearby.

Cons: The rooms got very hot, no air con, although fans were provided. The rooms could be noisy as they are on a main busy street. We were often woken by sirens/cars in the night. This would not deter me from staying here again though.

Simply amazing! We had the best time here. One of the best places I have stayed in. Very comfortable, very clean, and the staff is super helpful and very nice. Highly recommend this place.

Highly recommended but not in summer

This place would be near perfect any time except summer when the room becomes so hot from the afternoon sun that it's almost unusable from late afternoon because there's no air conditioning. Neither the windows nor the tower fan could provide adequate ventilation which made sleep challenging, as did the street noise, esp sirens. Otherwise, the rooms (with nifty little kitchen) are a perfect base for exploring Berlin from a vibrant, quirky suburb, with excellent transport.

Great place, would go again (but a little noisy)

The place is really great. Simple, clean, well-serviced, and centrally located. It is a little loud though as it looks at a major crossing and the windows do not seal that well.
