We had an excellent stay at Space Night! The private bathrooms were a lifesaver, and the staff were kind and helpful. The capsules aren't the most comfortable and they have no sound-barrier, so make sure you bring earplugs if you want a good rest. Overall a great stay for a weekend in Berlin!

The place was surprisingly fun to stay in, especially considering that this would be my first time in a hostel. The bathrooms were clean and the pots were clean as well. Staff were really friendly and helpful. There is a shop right across the entrance to the hostel.

I went on a long weekend trip to Berlin and was really happy with this hostel. The price reflects the experience and it is cheap considering how convenient the location is (Lidl close by/next to a bus stop/close to 3 underground stations/touristy places are walkable). There were always bathrooms available when needed and there was lots of storage space. One criticism is that the soundproofing of the capsules weren't the best, I was lucky that no one was noisy during my stay, but you really have to rely on etiquette and non-snorers to have a good sleep. The capsule itself was spacious and comfy, and the service desk was helpful. I would stay here again.

Some feedback!

The mattress is thin so a bit uncomfortable but for a ‘private room’ in a hostel you can’t complain!

The staff were lovely and attentive and explained fully how everything worked.

The toilets are shared so can quickly become a bit meh with some people not knowing how to clean up after themselves but was always cleaned up by staff and check on regularly.

Not really sign posted which is honestly my only actual negative thing. It’s inside a shopping building and up some broke escalators (the lift beside works)

Overall a decent
Place to stay especially for the price in the centre of Berlin!

It was decent enough but not sound-proof

The hostel is not easy to find. There is no sign on the building. You need to enter some automatic doors in the centre of the building next to a supermarket, and go up some broken down escalators.

I think the most important thing people need to know when considering staying here is that the pods are not sound-proof. At all. They look robust in the pictures but the door, ceiling etc is made from flimsy plastic, and you can hear everything. Our pod was next to the entrance so we could hear every interaction at the desk. They also play ambient music at all hours for some reason. Make sure you bring noise cancelling headphones.

The toilets are decent, they are all individual rooms with their own shower which allows privacy. Bring your own toiletries because none are supplied.

Great experience, possibly great for singles or groups of singles, not for a longer stay as a family. What we missed most was a shared, common area, with some seating, like they have in Japan. First day/night or two it was not too bad, but then we were looking for a place to sit for a few minutes, open a laptop or eat some instant noodles or maybe just wait for the others to get ready. Besides that fun place, nice people, very clean.

The stay was entirely on par with the cost. The surrounding area was somewhat unclean but the interior of the building had very few flaws. Clean, kind staff, really cool visually. What was especially lacking, however, was inside the pods. They list that there are outlets available. It is not made clear that these are NOT in the pods themselves. Rather, they dangle outside - risking your equipment required for charging and such getting stolen. They have two USB type A ports inside but no actual outlet. Worse, is the heat. The pods are small which wouldn’t be an issue with proper ventilation, but it seems like there’s never enough of that. They have a meager space ac outside and some vents in the pod with “adjustable” speeds but my pod for the duration was approx 30-35 degrees the whole time. Safe to say, as cool as it was visually, there’s a lot of room for improvement.

The pod temperature cannot be adjusted. Only the airvent can be adjusted but it still gets hot in there. There is no actual charging point inside the pod, it only has a USB cable outlet but not all phones use that type. Can get noisy with people moving around/knocking the walls beside or above you.

Nice stay with sense of privacy

Very clean hostel. Well located in central Berlin. The pods give you a sense of privacy that you don't get in many others. On the downside though, it's very dark - granted it's a space theme, but it made it difficult to organise yourself a bit. The other issue I had was that the air-conditioning wasn't really sufficient, so the room was very hot.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Space Night Hostel! The hostel is very easy to get to from public transport and the hostel staff were friendly and attentive. The hostel is very clean and I was very impressed by the facilities. I found my two person pod was spacious and comfortable and the private bathrooms were being cleaned around the clock to keep up with guest use.

My only concerns were that the USB plugs in the pod did not connect to anything. Thankfully I brought a wall plug and could connect my phone to a plug outside the pod while still having the door closed. Also my pod was not fit out with a safe like the others. The pods do get rather warm. A small fan would have made for a more comfortable nights sleep. Being on the bottom pod, I did hear every creak and whisper from the couple above. Not ideal if you’re looking for a bit more privacy, but otherwise to be expected considering how close the pods are to one another. Lastly, a filtered water cooler or a small kitchenette would be a nice touch. Something about refilling my water bottle in the bathroom sink just doesn’t feel quite right.

Overall I had an enjoyable stay and will definitely rebook when I return to Berlin.

Cheap and central. Staff were great. Staying in a plastic coffin less good. Creaks when people above get in. 1mm thick plastic door has no sound protection from people coming in the night. Think of it like camping in a one person tent. Bathrooms are nice but full at peak times so have to wait doing the pee pee dance.

The properly was alright, but the pods are extremely poorly built. You can hear EVERYTHING, no sound proofing whatsoever. You can hear people talking and laughing literally all night long.
Apart from the noise (which personally I cannot tolerate) the amenities and the rest of the place was clean and nice.

An amazing experience!

We absolutely loved it here! What a fantastic experience.

The staff were all really friendly and helpful, even gave me some shower gel when my partner had accidently left ours in one of the bathrooms the night before.

There were massive lockers with plenty of space next to the pods. The pods were easy to access, even with being higher up. Fresh towels were provided and the bathrooms were spotless. I think there were along 12 wc/shower rooms and never had to wait for one.

The pod was comfortable itself, and the hostel wasn't noisy, generally everyone was quite and respectful. The 1st night it was quite hot in the pod even with the air vent inside on. Much cooler the 2nd night which made it more comfortable.

The location was also good, you were never more than 25 mins walk from the main attractions.

Great place to stay for a night or 2, not sure I'd enjoy staying longer mainly because it's very difficult to see your suitcase contents in the dimly lit areas!
Overall very positive. Stayed in a double capsule. Pretty spacious, easy to access and large locker nearby. Managed to fit 2 medium suitcases inside the locker. The beds are reasonably comfortable. I got a little achy lying on my side.
Clean, spacious bathrooms with decent showers.
Towels included.
Would definitely recommend trying out especially as in central Berlin. Very glad I've experienced it.

Very cool experience. Would definitely go again. But their mattresses are super dull and alittle flat. Also the bathroom doesn’t have fan so it’ll be steamy inside the bathroom a lot. Doors are alittle hard to close. And only one air duct worked inside. HOWEVER, I would still go back because inside it was very clean and they washed the bathrooms daily. They give you a locker to store a carry on luggage. Go try it out!

Very happy with our stay at Space Night Hostel. Very quiet at night, bathrooms were always clean, and fresh towels provided daily. Stayed in a double capsule with my son and we had more than enough room. Only negative is that the air blowing from the vents were not that cool and I needed to keep the capsule door slightly cracked to receive good airflow, but it would not keep me from staying there again. We frr we let very safe there and in the general area even at night. Staff was super friendly.

Its a unique hostel based on pod concept and the ambience is pretty cool. The staff is nice and helpful and it is conveniently located close to the city center. You can walk to all the major attractions from the hostel. The pod gives the feeling of your own space and privacy and I felt very comfortable. They have pods for single and double occupancy and if you need extra space then go for double. Overall it is a cool place to stay and I definitely recommend this place to other travelers.

Not all pods are equal

I've stayed in pods before, in Sydney and Bilbao and thought I knew what to expect here and I did to a point, but this just wasn't as good as those.

A big thing for me was the in pod safe wasn't working and when I asked about it, I was told \"Viruses\" I asked what was meant and got a pretty vague reply. Maybe they just weren't working and that would have been an acceptable answer, but assuming this doesn't double as a secret bio lab, then it makes little sense as a reason.

The other thing is the doors are fiddly to close, especially the top pods which needs both hands or to move a door slightly until they catch together, then we can pull the whole thing with one hand, but if balancing on the side steps, then just not what one would expect.

Another thing I didn't experience in previous pods was the noise. Fair enough I guess, as there are so many pods all connected together, but they're made of a plastic that transfers the noise and vibrations badly.

I would pay more for a double pod if I were to visit again as they're in a quieter room with better doors etc, but next time i'm in Berlin, I would probably just stump up more for a room in a hotel.

Positives though..... It's in a good part of town with easy walking for most to some major sites

Tresor/Kit Kat are about 20-25 minutes walk, or slightly quicker using the metro.

Checkpoint Chalie is maybe 10 minutes walk or less and there's a cool beach beer garden a bit closer.

There's a supermarket too a minute walk or so

Space Pod Hostel

We stayed at the Space Night Hostel in Berlin for 4 nights in late November. It’s definitely on theme! When you do arrive the signage is a small paper sign on the door, don’t be alarmed you are in the right place. Head inside and up the out of service escalators.

Check in was easy, we were shown to our pod and locker to store our luggage. The bathrooms are private, spacious and very clean. The beds were comfortable. The hotel was overall pretty cold- so dress for sleep accordingly. Everyone was really respectful of noise in the evening and morning as well. Pleasantly surprised.

One note: You can get the doors open while it is “locked” needing key access to open. We would suggest you put your valuables in the lockers when you’re out for the day. They were much more secure.

We would stay here again for sure, and would suggest you do as well, but probably for 1-2 nights maximum. 4 nights was just a couple too many.

Not easy to find.

Not easy to find - I got a Taxi and although he dropped at the address he did not know the property - luckily a coffee shop was open and able to direct me - It is on the 1st floor next to a Tedi store. At street level there is only a small sticker on sliding doors. Google maps will help. The location is good. and is as described on the listing.. It is a different experience and all the better for that. I only had a couple of issues - when you open the capsule with your key - inside is dark and to turn on the lights you need to put your key in a slot in the middle - a small night light would help to identify. To open the doors from the inside you needed both hands - not easy in a limited space. I enjoyed Berlin and my stay and for the time of year the weather was very nice.

Staff were all able to communicate in English and they were very friendly. The common areas were kept clean. Public transportation is very close and affordable. Many important historical sites are close either with a brief walk or a bus or underground ride.
For improvement, I would have enjoyed a small table and chairs available in the lobby area to sit and use the wifi and eat lunch.

Valuta for pengene. Får søvn og vennlig service og sentral beliggenhet, men det var upraktiske løsninger og dårlig komfort. Renholdet var dårlig med konstant sur, vond lukt på bad. Ellers litt skitt overalt. Manglet et ordentlig spiseområde. God skapløsning. Stress med fremmede som er nysgjerrige. Vanskelig å få ladet mobil på grunn av slitasje på ladekontakter. Et sted som kun egner seg for unge mennesker. Med avskjermede \"kapsuler\" er dette et bedre alternativ enn åpne sovesaler.

J'ai récemment séjourné au Space Night Hostel et je recommande vivement cet endroit. L'hostel est bien situé, à quelques minutes des principales attractions de Berlin et bien desservi par les transports en commun. L'ambiance y est chaleureuse et accueillante, avec une équipe sympathique et prête à vous donner des conseils sur les choses à faire en ville.

Les capsules sont confortables, et l'endroit est très propre. L'atmosphère est décontractée et l'endroit dispose de tout le nécessaire pour un séjour agréable, notamment une cuisine commune bien équipée et un bar pour se détendre après une journée de visite. Le Wi-Fi est également rapide et fiable, ce qui est toujours un plus.

Le rapport qualité-prix est excellent, ce qui en fait une option idéale pour les voyageurs à budget limité qui souhaitent être proches de l'animation de Berlin sans se ruiner.

En résumé, un excellent choix pour un séjour agréable et abordable à Berlin !

Das Hostel hat uns an sich richtig gut gefallen, die Idee ist richtig cool und das Ambiente ist außergewöhnlich. Die Matratzen könnten bequemer sein, die waren leider sehr dünn. Die Lichter von den Schaltern in den Kapseln waren recht hell in der Nacht und die Belüftung laut (monotones Dröhnen. Haben es in der 2. Nacht ausgemacht). Generell hört man eigentlich alles durch die dünnen Wände der Kapseln und unsere war dann auch noch direkt gegenüber vom Empfang (Ohropax empfehlenswert). An sich ist’s richtig gut, dass es abgetrennte Bäder gibt, in denen jeweils eine Dusche, eine Toilette und ein Waschbecken sind, allerdings schade, dass es keine zusätzlichen separaten WCs gibt. In den Morgenstunden war die Schlange mega lang, weil alle Bäder besetzt waren und die Gäste geduscht haben, sodass man sich nicht schnell die Zähne putzen oder aufs Klo gehen konnte. Generell waren die Bäder im Laufe des Tages recht dreckig - da sollte vielleicht öfter eine Reinigung stattfinden, weil einige das Bad echt ekelig hinterlassen haben oder der ganze Boden überflutet war. Ungünstig war auch, dass die Rolltreppen kaputt waren und der Aufzug nur zu den TEDI Geschäftszeiten funktionierte, sodass man jedes Mal die hohen Stufen der Rolltreppe hoch musste. Gut hat uns gefallen, dass der Spind zur Doppelkapsel direkt vor der Kapsel ist und man konnte sich immer frische Handtücher nehmen. Insgesamt vergeben wir 4 von 5 Sternen, weil der Preis und die Lage unschlagbar waren.

In an old supermarket or mall, so don’t be shocked when first visiting. But the inside is good and clean, much better than I expected. The condition is not so perfect but staffs are very nice and helpful. Location is not bad and there is some supermarkets and drug stores around so you can buy food and drink easily. If your budget is limited and don’t mind sharing, it is a good choice in Berlin!!

Very bad bed. The capsule is not that Long, i am 178cm and it was too short for me.

And there is so much light at night that you cannot turn off. It was very hard to sleep with the lights.

Expérience décevante dans cet hôtel capsule. Capsules en plastique empilées, sans insonorisation, laissant passer tous les bruits. Chaleur constante due à une climatisation défaillante. Éclairage LED gênant la nuit. Prises uniquement USB. Espace très restreint, à peine suffisant pour deux. Coussins inconfortables. Casiers de stockage peu sûrs. Escalator en panne depuis longtemps. Aucune signalisation extérieure. Prix excessif pour la qualité offerte.

Points positifs : nombreuses douches et toilettes, bonne localisation. Mais ces avantages ne compensent pas les nombreux inconvénients. À éviter sauf en dernier recours.

Great, cheap and well located

Located in the heart of Berlin, with the price of everything who should have been 10 years ago.
I hate dormitory but it does not feel like this once inside the capsule.
Not for claustrophobic of course.
The only disappointment is the capsule is not soundproof, even closed inside we could hear well from the viscinity or the fellow capsule sleeper.

Would gladly add some pictures but the website through the app is bugging.
