Unfortunately we could not complete our reservation because of police work in the area -and we had to be evacuated.
While the front desk was open to questions and to the best of their ability the staff was trying to help, I think there was a lack of protocol for these situations.

We travel and stay in hotels a lot and my one criticism is that in the room there is nowhere to sit and do your hair. If you want to use straighteners for example you’ve had it!! There’s a plug socket above the chest of drawers but no mirror. There’s a mirror in between the wardrobe…..but no socket! There’s also no socket in the bathroom, only a shaver point. More consideration should be given to guests needs!

The hotel is very nice, and the rooms are comfortable. They have everything you need for a good stay.
The location is very good, as you can walk to many areas of the city, and public transportation is also very close. Several buses stop at the same street, and there are metro stations nearby.
The breakfast is worth the extra charge. It's varied and abundant, perfect for starting the day with a boost of energy.
The staff was very friendly and responded to our questions promptly and efficiently.
We would definitely come back.

Very friendly and helpful staff. I want to especially thank the Front Office Manager, Claudia E. for the assortment of snacks and drinks she provided to us after having to deal with the soap/shampoo holder falling off the shower wall (it was worn out) and the faulty hair dryer.

Food options:
The breakfast buffet was really good and had a good variety. Each day there were some changes in food selection with let my family try out items they never had before.

Bed comfort:
The beds, including the sofa bed, were comfy and clean.

Fitness room:
Was a bit small but had decent set of equipment. Although the exercise bike didn’t work, the other equipments were functioning well. For some reason the water dispenser was always out, but the staff was good with bringing a crate full of glass bottled water.

Transportation:
Hotel was right next to the trams and bus stops. There was a U-Bahn a short walk as well which we used to go to Potsdamplatz area.

I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

The Novotel hotel is conveniently placed for public transport as well as within walking distance of shops! The staff were friendly and helpful! Disappointed that no restaurant services on a Sunday! House keeping could be a bit better - used mugs not washed, desktop not wiped down and bathroom still had evidence of previous use! Overall though Novotel is a good hotel!

Hotel was in a prime location for walking or taking public transportation. Hotel staff was super friendly and was willing for us to leave our bags safe with them prior to us checking in. I felt very safe at the hotel with knowing you needed a room card to go up the elevator.

Rooms were kept nice and clean, if you were running low on supplies in your room they were quick to get it replaced. I would definitely stay with them again.

The worsr customer service in the world.

The worst service I have received at a hotel reception. The woman was rude, patronising told me it was my fault that theh didn't have the sofa set up in the room despite it being very clear on the booking. She had the worst smelling breath ive ever encountered.

The location is good in that it’s an easy walk to some main sights but not so good in that there is pretty much nothing on the streets surrounding the hotel so if you want an evening dinner or drink, you’ll be a good 20min walk away (or a couple of tram or bus changes away). There hotel bar is nice though.

Excellent experience! The breakfast is superb - so many options! Well worth including… now I’m back - I miss it! Staff very helpful and friendly.
The location is perfect for everything - trains and buses to everywhere you need to get to, and a great many attractions within 10-15 min walking distance. Very safe area (in fact Berlin in itself feels really safe). My friend was ill on the last day and they let us check out a little later which was really helpful. Beware nitpicking reviewers who find a crack in a chair, or a spot of rust on a shower head and cry about it. Sure, you may find a slightly tired corner of a room that gets used 24/7… but this is a great place with everything you need, and exceptional staff and breakfast… and it’s SUPER quiet! Enjoy your stay!

Upon arrival to the Novotel we were given a completely different room to the booking, which was inferior and contained glow in the dark stickers which would light up at night. The response was that they couldn't fit us into the room we booked until the day after checkout, forcing us to move all our luggage.

Additionally, we were given towels upon arrival which contained various blood stains, quite disgusting.

Compensation was in the form of a drink card for each guest(

Rooms are very old. The windows are not sound proof, can hear everything from the streets. Smell from the toilet goes into bedroom though the toilet door was shut. The keycard stopped working after one day, and had to go back to reception to get it renewed and staff didnt even say sorry for the inconvenience. Will not stay again.

The first impression was good, the hotel is nice, in a good central area. We had a superior double room, spatious and comfortable, the people from reservations were very nice to offer us a quiet room as Iasked (we could still hear the elevator, but better than the traffic).
Unfortunately the room was not very clean and we only received a small soap, a small bottle of shampoo and another small one of body lotion for 2 people for 4 nights!!! Even if I’ve announced the reception and even the manager of the hotel, we finally had to go to supermarket to buy some more! The sheets weren’t changed for 4 nights and room has never been vacuumed.
We also had a complaint about the waiter from breakfast, Mr. Aladag, who was supposed to provide us a good service, unfortunately, by contrary, he was very angry when I’ve politely asked him to clean a table for us, starting screaming that there is another clean table, which was around the corner and we couldn’t even see...After we moved at the table which was convenient for him, we went to take some juices and he started screaming again, in the middle of the restaurant, asking about the room number, which we already have told to his colleague from the entrance of the restaurant. So, he didn’t clean the table for us, but he continued screaming like we were criminals. Very “nice” behaviour, it never happened anything like this to me before...
At almost 200 euro per night, I was expecting a much better standard for the Novotel Berlin Mitte...

It’s a Novotel :) it’s exactly like every other Novotel in the whole world. Pretty ideal for business although oddly there was no iron and had to be requested- and was the most basic iron imaginable- not suitable for most business clothes. As a business hotel, could use an update with usb charging ports.

I liked the location of the hotel, but the service is poor.
A few days in advance, I have emailed the hotel and informed that our dog will be coming with us, and asked for a water bowl. We've got an answer back that everything for our dog will be prepared, but there wasn't anything for our dog in the room.
Also, I was also kind of disappointed, that the front desk manager didn't whish my husband a happy birthday, when he was checking in on his 40th birthday.

Very clean, and staff were very courteous and helpful. I did not use the amenities, so I cannot fully judge them, but there was a sauna and workout room open until 10pm, and the restaurant looked very cozy.
The rain showerhead was magnificent after a long day of travelling, and the towels were soft and plentiful.
